Very friendly service and good lunch

Today, my 82-year-old mother and I were at this restaurant. It is a really cool location and the atmosphere was very cozy, but that is really just due to the surroundings. When we wanted to order, the staff were chatting amongst themselves with no regard for their surroundings. At one point, I had to WALK TO THE CASH REGISTER MYSELF to place a simple order. I think that is very bad. The food wasn't very special either, and the bread was dry. I wouldn't recommend this place except for a quick coffee with perhaps a treat after a walk. Otherwise, the service was very poor. The price was ridiculously high for 2 sandwiches and 2 cappuccinos. Very bad.

I ordered plaice fillet on Sunday for 23.50 euros. You can expect something in return. We were served on a large white plate with a few strips of rectangular white fish on it, which looked as if it had been heated up in the microwave. Not well baked! There were only a few strips of fish on that plate, no decoration whatsoever. I told the waiter this, and you never hear anything about it again. In the distant past, a chef came to the table in such a case and offered a free dessert. Thought this was unworthy of the Schenkerij!

A beautifully landscaped park. Excellent tea house and parking lot. Don't forget to take a walk in the park, otherwise you will miss the most beautiful park in the area.

Prompt and friendly service. Nice atmosphere outside. Inside, it's just not quite right for me.

Enjoying a lovely time on the terrace with good food

Nice place to have lunch, with very good gluten-free options. The lunch is very tasty and the sandwiches are generously filled.

The food was delicious and the service fast and friendly.

What I find very strange here is that you have to pay 0.25 euro cents for half a slice of lemon in your sparkling water. I haven't experienced that before.

Good place to eat. The three-course menus (two variants: simple and deluxe) are a nice option. Sometimes the finishing touch is just missing. Nevertheless, we had an excellent meal. In short: definitely worth eating at, but there are better places. However, those probably aren't located in a beautiful spot like this, on the edge of Arboretum Poort Bulten (highly recommended!).

Unfriendly reception and an unwelcome feeling

The food was incredibly delicious.

Friendly service, delicious food, dietary restrictions are handled very well. And you can go for beautiful walks there (for example in the Arboretum), and enjoy good cycling.

Beautiful location, beautiful decor

This afternoon I had lunch with a friend at this beautiful spot. It's surrounded by nature and has a lovely, spacious location. It was quite noisy because of the crowds, but luckily we were allowed to choose a quieter spot. The staff was friendly but a bit distant. The food was perfect, and the coffee latte was delicious. We'll definitely be back 😃

A very nice restaurant with friendly staff. We had a cake, which tasted great. However, the portion size felt like they'd halved a slice. Prices going up is one thing, but €4.50, and then almost €1 extra for the whipped cream, you really expect a bit more than what we got. It's a shame, because it really detracted from the experience.

The surroundings were beautiful, but the service was a bit disappointing.

What a horrible place this was! I ordered a poke bowl, but it was drenched in tons of oil, garlic, and herbs… a truly awful combination, and so greasy I couldn't eat it. I reported this to the staff, but nothing was done, and we had to pay full price. I would never go back there again!!

Ambience is nice with a view of the park.

I dined here outside on the terrace with my parents! The service was done by a very nice woman who immediately stole my heart... and I think the owner was also very friendly. I had the prawns with baguette as a starter, which was delicious, and the tournedos for the main course, which was cooked perfectly rare! Of course, dessert is a must, and I opted for the homemade tiramisu, which was also very tasty. Date: August 10, 2025

Nice sitting at a beautiful arboretum. The smaller terrace at the back got a bit less attention than the large terrace but we had a great time!

Despite the crowds and apparent understaffing, we received exceptionally good and friendly service. Food was fine, but the fries weren't exactly what I expected. Was more like fries goulash. Highly recommended to go and immediately afterwards take a walk in the beautiful park behind it.

Very nice restaurant located in the park. Quick and friendly service, tasty food. It hasn't a direct access from highway but it it's worth pull off and take extra 5mon to have a quality stop on your drive. Also can be a visited when going to the nearby park.

The flammkuchen and carpaccio salad, among others, were quite sparse and simple.

I had a nice meal here. The young people serving were nice. What I thought was special: the people at the table next to us had a lot of sandwiches and toppings left over and were not allowed to take them with them despite their express request. That should not be allowed because of the Commodities Act. The waitress then said that she was going to eat a sandwich with the leftover food later.

Cozy gift shop. Friendly staff and delicious coffee and tea. Sat after a running training nearby.

Perfect! Voorgerecht, hoofdgerecht, dessert, personeel en ambiance. Mooie ambiance. Trio van vis was heerlijk. Varkenshaas met Brie overbakken met Brie; Perfect! Lever met appel en champignons: Perfect! (Perfect gesneden en gebraden). Dessert Apfelstrudel met ijs en slagroom ook perfect. Vriendelijke bediening. Poortsbulten; Zeker een aanrader!

Beautiful Sunday and super busy. The staff remained friendly and the kitchen was fast and delicious. Perfect end to our walking weekend.

Delicious lunch, excellent duo of salmon and tuna, and croquettes on bread. Very good dark bread served with it. Cozy setting, lovely sunshine, lots of movement around from walkers and guests.

The high tea was okay, quite a large portion for two people. There was some confusion about the vegetarian options, but nothing out of the ordinary in that regard. The environment is pleasant

Mini edition coffee and cake! After a nice bike ride and a wonderful tour through the arboretum, we stopped at the Schenkerij Poort Bulten. Nice seating on the terrace and attentive service were very pleasant. The prices are normal, but are driven up by the mini cups of coffee (and then only half full) and the small piece of cake. Everything is very tasty - but there is definitely room for improvement in the portion sizes!

The beautiful arboretum is located near the Poknerij Poort Bulten. A beautiful place with a beautiful terrace, especially in the spring, although it is nice to be there all year round. Pleasantly helpful and a wonderful place to rest

A bit doubtful, we had made a reservation by phone, but upon arrival they knew nothing, it was not noted down, but we were able to sit down, it was not busy, we had spare ribs and for my wife a pork tenderloin with brie. The spareribs were very tasty and tender, the pork tenderloin was a bit too dry...and there could be some new chairs, they were quite worn. Here you can take a beautiful walk through the arboretum depoortbulten.

The food is fine. The location is nice, that's not the reason. Then why three stars? Because shortly after we ordered it turned out that guests who came after us could no longer order lunch 'because it was so busy'. Very strange.

Ordered fish and chips. Crackling hard dough around an indeterminate piece of fish. Not to be tolerated.

Partly satisfied with the dinner. Starter: delicious mustard soup and trio of fish. Main course: plaice fillet tasty, but veal liver seemed to have been reheated. Very dry.... Dessert: apple studel not very tasty, puff pastry looked like dough and the choux Poort Bulten, ice cream prime but the choux was rock hard instead of fluffy. All in all, very mediocre. Staff very nice.

Het eten, bediening en service waren voortreffelijk. Wij komen uit Enschede en zijn 55 plussers . Waar ik mij als vrouw alleen aan stoor zijn de hooghartige dames die niet zoals ik een universitaire opleiding hebben genoten. Krijg je onmogelijk contact mee. Daarom is een muziekje wel handig, anders het gevoel dat je in bejaardenhuis zit. Daarom na het eten snel weer weg.

I recently had the opportunity to dine at restaurant and I must say, it was quite an interesting experience. The first thing that caught my attention was the fact that the menu was only available in the local language. As someone who doesn't speak the language, it was a bit challenging to understand what each dish was. Unfortunately, the customer service staff were unable to explain the menu to us in English as they did not speak the language. However, despite the language barrier, they were young and friendly, making an effort to assist us as best they could. Now, let's talk about the food. The dishes we ordered were absolutely delicious and well-prepared. The flavors were rich and the presentation was impressive. However, there was one minor drawback for us - everything seemed to be a bit too sweet. While some people may enjoy this, it was a personal preference that didn't quite align with our taste buds. Overall, despite the language barrier and the sweetness of the dishes, we had a pleasant experience at the restaurant. The customer service staff were kind and accommodating, and the food, although not to our exact liking, was still of high quality. If you're someone who enjoys sweet flavors and is open to trying new dishes, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Restaurant is very well nicely decorated with fire pit inside.

Christmas buffet at 6 p.m. a disappointment. Sitting on patio chairs at the entrance/exit is cold. Beverage service not running. Desserts must be ordered quickly and are not replenished

Cappucino niet lekker. Automaat met poedermelk of zo. Waterig met weinig smaak. Het eten was oke, maar niets bijzonders. Wel een erg mooie plek en vriendelijk personeel.

Een fantastische plek om koffie te drinken, te borrelen, te eten en om een feestje te vieren. De gastheer en gastvrouw zijn vriendelijk, denken met je mee. Ze hebben het mooi voor elkaar. Het buffetje dat bij het feestje geserveerd werd was fantastisch. Het zag er prachtig uit en smaakte voortreffelijk. Als bonus kun je in het arboretum dat direct grenst aan Schenkerij PoortBulten, heerlijk wandelen.

Gezellige restaurant waar je van alles kan eten en drinken heb daar een uitsmijter rosbief gegeten erg lekker goed belegd echt een aanrader . Gebak hebben ze koffie verschillende soorten thee soorten en meer , je kan ook heerlijk wandelen in het arboretum erg mooi erg vriendelijk personeel 👍🏻

Gezellig vriendelijke bediening

Juist het Arboretum is het belangrijkste zoveel verschillende bomen die hier te bezichtigen zijn. Dan even plaats nemen en bij een versnapering alles nog even de revue laten passeren.

Wij hebben hier een lunch buffet voor bijna 40 personen gehad. Helaas was de prijs niet inclusief koffie/thee of zelfs gewoon kraanwater.. Omdat het 30 graden was heb ik om kraanwater in karaffen gevraagd. Hier is € 2 ,- per karaf voor gerekend. Let wel ik had 1 lunchbuffet voor 40 personen a € 21,- pp . Niet erg klantgericht.. had een makkelijke en goedkope plus kunnen zijn. Dat ik voor extra consumpties als wijn en bier moet betalen snap ik. Bovendien waren een groot aantal plaatsen in de volle zon. Toen enkele gasten vroegen om de tafels in de schaduw te mogen zetten werd dit geweigerd. Uiteindelijk hebben we dit na diverse keren gevraagd te hebben zelf gedaan omdat dit (ook qua looppaden ed) prima kon. Het eten was top...de klantgerichtheid absoluut niet

Niet gegeten maar de koffie vinden we prima maar niet echt lekker helaas geen Beukenhorst of royal clasic. Volgens de Schenkerij was het wel Beukenhorst koffie, zal wel aan onze smaakpapillen liggen.😁

Op deze prachtige locatie de bruiloft gevierd van broerlief met een receptie en uitgebreid diner/ bbq. Vriendelijk, alert personeel, overdadig maar goed eten en een afsluiter met Italiaans schepijs. Als ik in de buurt zou wonen kwam ik hier vast vaker...

Erg goed daar vriendelijke personeel en lekker koffie en betaalbaar

Ons favoriete restaurant in omgeving De Lutte. Zowel het eten als de bediening is erg goed. Helaas is de zalmfilet niet meer als hoofdgerecht te bestellen, maar de pasta met gamba’s was ook erg lekker.

Heerlijk eerlijk genoten koffie met gebak, toen een lange wandeling, afgesloten met een goed verzorgde maaltijd, complimenten voor de Chef en een dank aan de bediening.

Met zijn allen superveel plezier gehad wat een topdag was het.

Wat een top locatie! Heerlijk groene omgeving, erg lekker eten en zeer vriendelijke bediening. Wij gaan hier zeker vaker komen!

Het arboretum is prachtig. Voor een mooie wandeling kun je hier terecht. En in de Schenkerij is het heerlijk genieten en ontspannen. Bij een beetje goed weer kun je fijn buiten zijn op het terras. Leuke kaart, vriendelijke bediening. Beslist aan te raden.
