I participated in a wall candy workshop and it is definitely worth repeating! Friendly guidance in a relaxed atmosphere, a huge selection of images, and you get to make 3 signs/tiles of your choice. Food and drinks were also well catered for! As far as I'm concerned, a big thumbs up!

Fun and original "wall candy workshop". Choice of tiles or plates. Made to your own style/taste. Great as home decoration or as a gift. Welcome with coffee/tea. Fresh pumpkin soup with fresh bread during the break. Relaxed atmosphere.

My favorite coffee shop! ☕️ It is always so cozy here — it really feels like coming home. As soon as I walk in, they already know exactly what I want, and that personal touch makes it extra nice. It is also the kind of place where friends drop by spontaneously because they know I’m here — that pretty much says it all about the atmosphere. Something else I want to mention: I sometimes see negative reviews about how children are treated, and I don't recognize that at all. On the contrary — they are actually very sweet and patient with children here. The problem sometimes lies more with parents who pay more attention to their phones than to their children. For me, this remains a wonderful place to relax, catch up, and enjoy good coffee. Definitely recommended!

Had a delicious lunch here today with a salmon sandwich! What a nice and cozy place; they have a shop attached as well. The ladies were very helpful with picking out a gift. Not pushy and very patient. I was even allowed to take it home on approval—what service. You don't see that very often anymore.

What a fun concept! This is truly one of those places where you keep looking around because there is something nice to discover everywhere; I love coming here to pick up original gifts. Besides that, it is also just a lovely place to sit down for a while with a coffee and enjoy a delicious pastry! Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and always something new. Highly recommended!

This was the last time for us. What an unfriendly place for children and grumpy staff. As grandparents, we came occasionally with our grandchild, but too often we felt: better not than with a child. My advice: get rid of the children's corner and toys. It wasn't much to speak of anyway; you won't attract parents with small children to annoy anymore, and take a hospitality course.

I sit here regularly and it's always cozy and nice. The store also has lots of nice items and clothes/bags to browse through. And it's nice that they regularly have something new to try out.

A really lovely spot on the Gijsbrecht, for both coffee and nice gifts! My daughter loves coming here every day for the fun play corner and a ‘chino’ (she almost manages to get that every week, with grandma, aunt, dad, and mom each taking a turn;). If you prefer not to spend money, I would walk past the concept store; there is always something new to be found there that you didn't even know you needed *right*.

Lovely hotspot in Hilversum with delicious coffee. Friendly and attentive service. I often and happily sit here for a treat with my two children, sometimes to play, sometimes to chat. Additionally, it is a dangerous place to shop for beautiful items as a gift or for myself.

I've been here about 7 times, but the last time was recently. We were snapped at quite a bit here, with the low point being that time when I said at the checkout regarding a 6.80 euro bill: "Just make it 8 euros." The sarcastic response: "Wow, 20 cents tip? How generous, huh?" I did get an apology after the calculation error was realized, but sorry... weird reaction. Despite the play area, you don't exactly feel welcome with children.

On one side, a cozy lunchroom with delicious coffee, homemade sweets, and tasty lunch dishes. And on the other, a fun concept store with beautiful and thoughtful gifts (because that's how everything feels there, even if you're buying it for yourself). Jamie and his colleagues are friendly and welcoming. In short, a wonderful place at Gijsbrecht!

I come here regularly with my child, but today was definitely the last time. Every time, I get an unwelcome feeling, especially from the owner (as far as I know, she is). She always looks angry and disapproving when my two-year-old daughter runs around for a bit. My child usually plays quietly in the play corner, but she's two. Sometimes she runs for a bit. At that point, I immediately pick her up and take her back. I'm very aware that she shouldn't get in the way. Yet, I received an angry look several times, as if I can't control my child. What I really found unacceptable was that she was telling my two-year-old daughter from the kitchen not to run. That's my role as a mother. I correct my child myself. Also, the children's grilled cheese was ridiculously small, especially for the price. Combined with the atmosphere, that makes the whole experience just not right. I took the children's grilled cheese home because I really didn't feel comfortable anymore! If children are apparently not wanted, I honestly wonder why there's a play corner. Not every child is the same. If these looks from you continue, it might be healthier to skip the play corner altogether! Incredibly disappointing. This is truly the last time for me.

Nice little place! It's great that they make it cozy. But unfortunately, the coffee is sometimes good and sometimes not at all. Today it was way too hot, I think 90 degrees Celsius, which ruins the flavor. I mentioned it and was given a lot of cold milk (?), so now I'm drinking a lukewarm coffee with a lot of milk. Not really what I was hoping for. Too bad.

Nice place. A wonderful place to start a Saturday with a newspaper and a cup of good coffee. Always friendly people.

Pleasant coffee shop. The luxury apple pie was delivered frozen and tasted watery and was too cold inside. A lesser-known apple pie would probably be better. Very friendly service.

I sometimes come here for a cup of coffee with the kids, but I think that this is really the last time for now. Time and again the same employee, lady with brown hair, gives you the feeling that you are not welcome and that you are being watched. That is also evident because your kids are immediately addressed if she does not like something. Then remove the children's corner if you are bothered by children. She also interferes with whether I want to order something else or not. I decide for myself. No, she is not really hospitable and that is not an isolated incident. Go somewhere where they treat you normally.

An atmospheric place, a nice combination of a breakfast/lunchroom and a concept store. I had lunch here today. There is a relaxed atmosphere. Soft music in the background. I updated this review on 30/05. I had ordered a drink, the vitamin booster. Unfortunately, it was undrinkable. According to the employee, there was 100% nothing wrong with the drink. And it could not be removed from the receipt. I indicated very customer-friendly. Then the lady walked away and I was ignored.

Delicious banana cake, served as a real party (warm, with fruit). Nice place to sit (with newspaper) and the owner asked if I was satisfied: cake: delicious, coffee not hot enough. Whereupon I got a just right cappuccino to make up for it. Thanks for the service!

Our favorite lunch spot when we have a Gijsbrechtje. Nice and accessible and friendly with tasty home-made snacks. Never boring as far as I'm concerned, so I'll be back! The disadvantage is that my wife always brings something nice from the shop...

Wat een fijne plek! Heerlijke broodjes, tosti’s en salades, de lekkerste koffie met een rijk assortiment aan zoetigheden. Ik kom hier graag! Voor de kleinere kids (tot 4 jaar) is er een fijne speelhoek met treinbaan en boekjes. Altijd nog even rond kijken in de conceptstore om een leuk cadeautje te scoren, of een sieraad voor mezelf. De eigenaresse heeft een goede smaak, echt een leuke collectie.

Stop by very often for a gift, for a coffee (with something tasty). Alone or with 2 young children. They can then play quietly for a while. However, some parents think that this means that they no longer have to watch their children or that the toys do not have to be neatly put away after use. That's a shame...

The banana cake here is excellent. I often come here to take it away but I will no longer dine in here as they do not welcome children. If you bring your children here they must not make noise and must not play at the play area. They have a lovely merchandise corner with very nice things — I have bought gifts here on a few occasions however my last visit here I received very cold treatment from an older lady. Her replies were short and unfriendly; she didn’t sound like she wanted me there—like I was an annoyance. As I really wanted the necklace for a friend; I quickly paid and left. I don’t think I will shop there again in the near future.

Very nice shop/café with food options...very cozy seating

What a lovely place to drink your coffee. They also have other tasty drinks & food. No problem with bringing a child, they also have a corner for that. I'm a fan🙌

Another couple who came in later had an employee at their table within 2 minutes. After 10 minutes I had to get up to place my order and then she came back to me to ask again if I wanted a cappuccino or a coffee. I ordered a Carpaccio wrap and it was so thin and stingy. For that amount I really expect a well-filled wrap with everything that should be on it. I'm not coming back. Have another lunchroom down the street that provides so much better service.

Very nice coffee shop, I have been there several times now with my babysitter. When we come in she immediately runs to the play corner and can't get away. We played a lot with the trains. And the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Also delicious coffee and cakes! (The tiramisu latte is definitely recommended!).

I was looking for a nice coffee place with a play area and thought I had found it. Unfortunately the experience was disappointing. My children and I felt unwelcome. The play area seemed more decoration than play space. The staff seemed irritated by every sound the children made. An employee even reacted stressed when my son looked at some vases. If you promote yourself as a child-friendly concept store, I expect that children can play freely, that fragile items are out of reach of children and that spilled lemonade is cleaned up immediately to prevent accidents. Unfortunately, I will not return here. A missed opportunity for a place that had potential.

Sees cakes were the star of our wedding party. "The tastiest cake ever!" the guests said. Sees' help with choosing and arranging was fantastic. What nice people. Very happy with our choice!

Een leuk koffietentje met heerlijk lunchgerechtjes. De aankleding is sfeervol en gezellig. Helaas is de eigenaresse iets te hard bezig om dat zo te houden. Er is een speelhoek, maar het is meer een opruimhoek, kinderen mogen er vooral niet teveel spelen, want dan ziet het er niet meer netjes uit. De menukaart en droogbloemetjes die wij even op het andere tafeltje hadden gezet omdat ons tafeltje wel erg klein was voor 3 personen werd binnen seconden onder strenge blik weer terug geplaatst op ons eigen tafeltje. Wanneer je hier naar binnenloopt kan je ook niet op een “goedemorgen” rekenen wanneer je de eigenaresse voorbij loopt. Je voelt je te gast in plaats van thuis. Een wat hartelijkere aanpak en dit zou een toptent kunnen zijn.

Un mercredi matin après avoir posé les enfants à l'école, pas grand monde, c'est calme, c'est agréable. Le personnel est souriant, aimable, en anglais comme en néerlandais. Et que dire que cette tarte caramel - chocolat ? Une tuerie !! J'y retournerai sans hésiter

Ons koffie apparaat van kantoor kapot, kwam ik koffie afhalen, liep een medewerker gezellig mee om het af te leveren. Erg lekker gebak erbij. Erg fijne plek!

Leuk plekje om even te zitten en om te genieten van een kopje koffie met iets erbij. Klein terrasje met genoeg stoeltjes. Ook is er binnen een stukje winkel waar je edelstenen en andere hebbedingetjes kunt kopen. Leuk om eens te bezoeken!

Gezellig en sfeervol plekje! Ik kom hier graag met vriendinnen om even bij te kletsen onder het genot van een heerlijke havercappuccino en een bananenbrood! Het personeelsteam is leuk gevarieerd en erg spontaan en vriendelijk naar de gasten toe. Ik word met mijn oppaskindjes altijd goed ontvangen en zij vinden het ook heerlijk. Zij kunnen zich top vermaken in de speelhoek terwijl ik rustig rondsnuffel door het winkelgedeelte. Kortom: echt een aanrader!

Heerlijk plekje! Ik kom hier graag om een leuk en origineel cadeautje uit te zoeken of mezelf te verwennen met een nieuw sieraad of handtas. De huisgemaakte bounty-taart is te lekker, evenals de wrap carpaccio, beiden zijn mijn favoriet. Ik kom hier minstens 1 keer per week.

Ik kom hier altijd graag. Je drinkt hier de lekkerste koffie die met aandacht en liefde voor je gemaakt wordt. Daarnaast hebben ze heel veel lekkers voor bij de koffie, maar ook een hele lekkere lunchkaart. Niet de standaard broodjes maar een eigen creatieve draai. Naast het drink/eet gedeelte is er een concept stoer waar ik al veel cadeautjes, prachtige vazen en tassen gekocht heb. De eigenaresse heeft een goede smaak en dat zie je terug in haar zaak.

Een heel gezellige plek met lekkere koffie, een prima lunchkaart (broodje vega filet americain is echt een aanrader) en een leuke speelhoek. Verder kun je hier heel leuke hebbedingen kopen, voor cadeautjes slaag je hier zeker!

Goede plek voor lnch lekker en gezellig

The store is nice and cozy from the outside. People are smiling and you can see them smile because no one wears a mask, not even when preparing food or serving you without keeping distance. And what is worst is that no one asks for the Corona check. We had to ask to be checked and no one after and closer to us was checked. In these uncertain times and with covid cases rising this behavior is irresponsible and unacceptable. Two advices for the new year: respect the rules, it’s the only way to go back to normal, and improve your cooking, the food was just okay but not very good.

Leuke en vriendelijke mensen en we mochten naar het toilet. Wat wij als wielrenners zeker waarderen 👍

Op internet stond dat dit een kindvriendelijke zaak was. We waren met 2 meisjes van 4 en een kindje van 1 en 2. Gezellig koffietje drinken in het speelhoekje. (Lees treintafel) De dame van de winkel is 3 maal naar ons toegekomen om te vragen of de kindjes geen geluid meer wilden maken.. de meisjes waren namelijk aan het zingen.. De laatste keer kwam ze naar de meisjes kijken als een schooljuf, maar dan met een afkeurende blik.. er was maar 1 andere klant in de zaak.. bizar.. nog niet eerder heb ik mij zo “Weggekeken” gevoeld omwille van de kindjes.. en dan zou dit een kindvriendelijke zaak zijn???!!!! Zeer onprettige ervaring!

Een aanrader om met kleine kinderen naar toe te gaan. Uitstekende koffie en ander lekkers. Het leuke is de speelhoek voor kinderen. die kunnen zich daar prima vermaken.

Vriendelijk personeel en een broodje waarbij je vingers zowat bij op eet! Wauw echt heel lekker en goed! Het ziet er van binnen ook heel inspirerend en mooi uit. Ik ben fan van de kleine tassen met print aan de binnenkant.

Nice little Café with a good vibe and Menu.

Dit is wat de buurt nodig had! Een gezellige lunchroom/ koffiebar waar je voor een niet al te hoge prijs goed kan lunchen. Ze schenken zeer goeie koffie en het het eten is zeer goed! Bijna dagelijks kom ik hier, gewoon omdat het kan! Ik zou zeggen, kom langs als je wilt eten met een persoonlijke touch of gewoon voor een bakkie ;)
