I ordered mostly delicious Indonesian dishes, even Bintang beer, originally from Indonesia. The service was personal and friendly.

Gosh, it takes forever here. This is the last time we're coming here, after several years. More and more often, you have to wait so long for your food. Even on Mondays, you'll have to wait over an hour (!) for your takeout. Cheers, so from now on, a different Chinese restaurant.

When you go on vacation and close the place, put on your website(s) that you're CLOSED! We weren't the only ones who came by for nothing last Friday.

7 years ago We ordered to have it delivered to our home. A disappointment. The vegetarian spring rolls tasted like wet newspaper, stale and sloppy. They also had very little content. The foe yong hai was burnt, which does not benefit the taste, because the sauce soaks it through the entire dish. The shrimps had a kind of chemical aftertaste, but they were the best in terms of “taste”. A huge disappointment, I will not order again. Today: Unfortunately a big disappointment. What was meant to be a pleasant meal, mainly became an exercise in salt. The babi pangang was much too sour and extremely salty, with an unpleasant, sharp taste. The tenderloin was not tender, but soaked in salt – as if they had forgotten that meat can also have its own taste. The nasi was the low point: some grains were rock hard or even not yet cooked. That simply does not belong in a professional kitchen. The foe yong hai looked like egg dumped in thick tomato soup – flat, monotonous and anything but fresh or Asian refined. Only the bami managed to make up for something – it was tasty. A restaurant with such a name should be able to do better. This was not Selamat Datang, but rather Selamat and quickly forgotten

Vanavond een indoneschise rijst tafel gehaald. Het was ronduit slecht. De kip, rundvlees en sate waren gort droog. De sperzieboontjes bleek en slap. Alles zag er onverzorgd en onsmakelijk uit. Wij gaan daar geen eten meer bestellen.

Gisteren twee loempia’s opgehaald. Ze waren allebei verbrand! Er zat geen smaak aan….kip uitgedroogd en taai. Dit eens maar nooit weer!

Very nice people and delicious food on Queen's Day

A charming Chinese-Indonesian restaurant with an all-you-can-eat buffet on Saturdays and Sundays in Zoetermeer's historic Dorpsstraat. The buffet is well-presented, and the service is fast and friendly.

I ordered to take a way the waiting time was no more than 10 minutes so fast service, kind and friendly service, food taste good 😋

Received white rice instead of nasi. Have had better taste at this restaurant.

This is not an authentic Indonesian restaurant, but a Chinese restaurant using an Indonesian name. There's a world of difference between them. Also regarding the food 🤔

Do not order here. Waited 2.5 hours for the food (ordered for delivery) Then you hope, when it comes after 2.5 hours, that it's great. No, it wasn't. Not even worth 1 star.

I didn't like the food. The babi pangang was tough, hard and dry. The nasi was soggy with large pieces of vegetables that were stiff. Meat in the cow lou youk was also tough and dry. This was the 1st and last time for me to eat from this store.

Nice restaurant and tasty food. Service is good and food is served quite quickly. Buffet for large groups has something for everyone. Beware some dishes can be very spicy.

Food ordered was cold when it arrived. Taste was good but the Bami contained exactly 1 piece of leek. I'm not used to this. Normally very good.

Ordered food today at 5.15 pm. We were aware that it is January 1st. The site itself did not indicate anything about long(er) delivery times when we indicated ASAP. However, we subsequently received an email with a delivery time of 90 minutes. Too bad, but clear communication. Called at 6:52 PM to find out where they were staying. The delivery person then had to come back and could only arrive afterwards. We called again at 7.10 pm and were treated very unfriendly by the operator with words such as 'I just told you...' and 'see you soon then...'. No amount of sorry could get rid of it. In the end the food wasn't delivered until 7:25 PM. The only good thing about the evening was the extremely friendly delivery person and the good food. If you can't handle the crowds, don't take any more orders or speak to your customers properly.

Too bad we went here for dinner on Christmas Day! The food was cold, tough and not tasty.

We had vouchers for dinner through social deal. Portions were large, variety in what you got too. Too bad it came from the microwave. You could really taste this. Super friendly and hospitable people, but for us the food was a nope

I don't have the choice to give less than 1 star! They have to close. Food terribly dirty and no choice. No atmosphere there, no music. You only hear the cutlery of the few customers eating there. I would say close!!!!

What a sin! The restaurant looked cozy. We got there at 6:30 PM. Running buffet. There wasn't much choice. Many containers were empty and could not be replenished (had run out). Very special, because the restaurant was almost empty... The food was extremely salty and tough (old). I couldn't even finish my plate because it felt like I had swallowed a mouthful of seawater. Super unhealthy. It really doesn't make any sense at all!

The food was sour for the second time, the nasi seemed spoiled and the Tja cjieuw was really gray in color over time.

Neat place, nice staff, but the food really could have been better. I have eaten Indonesian food before so I have material for comparison. But there is plenty of choice, so you won't leave hungry.

Clerk was nice Food was very bad. Bami tasted cheap, like it was some kind of noodles with the ah. Meat has no taste. The woman who receives you is not very friendly. I have a child and wanted a high chair and asked for one, but I didn't get it. Asked this to a clerk and was kind enough to give it.

Bad experience! Order took almost 1 hour. Hostess was very rude and unprofessional. She looked at us with difficulty when we asked about the food and high chair. When she left she shouted loudly for all customers; "sir, you haven't paid." I indicated that I was paying with her colleague. I waited politely at the counter. The lady runs to the table and sees the money and then comes back without apologizing. This is really not possible! Madam has chosen the wrong position. Food was mediocre. Netherlands girl was nice. We will never come back here again.

Very unfriendly hostess, surly and as flexible as a lamppost. Highchair for our daughter was not possible, according to her she does not fit in it. Finally asked her colleague about it. A broken wooden chair was taped and wobbled and our daughter just fit into it. The beef that was in the menu asked if it could be put on a separate plate for my daughter, because I don't eat meat. She was very difficult about that and looked difficult about it. That's not included in the price, she would say. And the icing on the cake was that she ran after my husband for not paying. Her colleague settled with us and the money was just left on the table. Glad we didn't tip because she certainly doesn't deserve one. The food was very spicy. I had more peppers than food. The prawn crackers were very tough. In short: even the snack bar is better. Never again for us!

Normally it's fine, but now it was extremely disappointing. With the Koe loe yuk you could smash a window. The spring roll was so incredibly greasy that the plate looked like it was in the deep fryer and the tjap tjoi was just disgusting. Very poor today.

Bizar slecht restaurant! GEEN AANRADER!!!! Wij zaten hier als enige groepje in het hele restaurant, het eten was er nog niet na 1,5 uur. Na diverse malen navragen waar het eten bleef kon er geen tijd worden aangegeven wanneer het diner klaar zou zijn voor ons. Dat bleek dus omdat afhaal voorrang kreeg mensen die veel later kwamen gingen eerder met hun bestelling weer de tent uit, wij werden als enige gasten compleet genegeerd in het restaurant. Klantvriendelijkheid was VER te zoeken van het keukenpersoneel daarnaast was een dame nog erg onbeschoft toen we de tent maar hadden verlaten om elders te gaan eten. Voor ons nooit meer deze vreselijke en bizar slechte Selamat datang!

Wij zijn gisteren met 8 personen naar Selamat Datang geweest. Wat een vreselijke tent! Na anderhalf uur wachten nog steeds geen eten. We werden compleet geneerd door het keukenpersoneel en de bestellingen voor afhaal gingen voor terwijl wij al veel eerder aanwezig waren en hadden besteld. Het enige die wij zagen was een jongen die als loopjongen werd (mis)gebruikt en verder geen enkel personeel te bekennen. Voor ons nooit meer Selamat Datang!

Indon Chinese Dorpstraat: never buy a spring roll there! The fat will drip out. The dough is not cooked/well done. It's yuck. Ate inside. Now we have to wait and see what this mess will do to our stomach and intestinal tract. Hire a good spring roll maker/baker. They can also eat the current spring roll maker one of those things later. Very unfortunate, we were really looking forward to eating a delicious spring roll. IT WASN'T SUCCESSFUL.

Indon Chinees Dorpstraat: nooit een loempia daar kopen! Het vet druipt eruit. Het deeg is niet gaar/doorbakken. Het is bah. Binnenkant gegeten. Nu afwachten wat deze zooi in ons maag en darmstelsel gaat doen. Een goeie loempia maker/bakker in dienst gaan nemen. Ze kunnen ook de huidige loempia maker eens zo'n ding later opeten. Erg jammer we hadden ons er erg op verheugd om een lekker loempia te eten. IS NIET GELUKT. Ik heb ook even opgebeld om dit door te geven en er werd aangeboden om andere te komen halen, maar ik heb vriendelijk bedankt en geadviseerd om zelf een zo'n ding te eten. We hebben de boel ingepakt en in de koelkast gezet. Kijken of we er binnen 24 uur niet doodziek van worden, anders gaat het naar de keuringsdienst van waren voor onderzoek!!

Delicious food, haven't been there for a long time but still a very nice place to have a nice and cozy meal.

Fast service by very friendly and good service. We had the buffet. The food was super tasty and the dessert buffet was a nice surprise. We will hopefully come back here soon!

Ik heb onlangs gegeten bij restaurant ISelamat Datang en het was totaal geen Indische ervaring. Ik heb nog nooit zoiets slechts gegeten. Zowel het voor-, hoofd-, als nagerecht waren waardeloos. Ik begrijp niet waarom ze nog open zijn. Het buffet eten was koud, veel gerechten ontbraken en werden niet bijgevuld. De toetjes hadden ijsbrokken en de groenten leken uit de diepvries te komen. Echt een verschrikkelijke ervaring.

We ate at Selamat Datang again after a long period. It is nice to see that over the years the quality of the dishes has remained the same and some have even improved. The SG telor and the udang pedis are delicious. In other words Haven't been to this restaurant in too long.

Always good food, even though it is really Chinese Indonesian food instead of Indonesian. Been a customer for years. What really disappoints me is that they suddenly charge 3 euros per product if you have it delivered. This is on top of the 1.99 euro delivery costs. We ordered 2 dishes, so 2 x 3 euros extra costs. With the service costs of Thuisbezorgd it was 10 euros extra.

The food is too greasy and not fresh. This has nothing to do with Indonesian food. It's a Chinese who happens to serve some Indian dishes. Price/quality is terrible. Do yourself a favor and go to a real Indonesian restaurant

Just a nice meal, just a good Chinese

Always good food and friendly service. It's just a pity that they advertise the buffet on their sign outside, but it wasn't there on a Sunday evening.

Wonderful and not expensive friendly people

I'm shocked by the positive reactions I read below about the food. Yesterday we thought we would have a nice Indonesian meal until we saw that the restaurant was run by Chinese, which made us skeptical, but hey, you give it a chance because we haven't tasted the food yet. Not that they can't cook, but in the end this was not even close to Indonesian food. Soto ajam tastes like a regular Chinese chicken soup, I didn't taste any Laus ginger or sereh. Sambal beans are green beans from the can (not even fresh) with sambal oelek through them. For rendang, chicken meat was used that was so overly salty that I couldn't even swallow it. Nothing is fresh or freshly prepared, telor was quite dried out. Sajoer Lodeh was really painful, had no taste and was like snot. As if it had been in the bins for 3 months. Regretful and a major disappointment! Moreover, those few containers there cannot be called Grand Buffet. It's just too bizarre that this food goes by the name of Indonesian dishes are sold. So you can only eat good Indonesian food if it is made by Indian people and believe me, it tastes very different than here.

Definitely not Indo cuisine. The restaurant is Chinese and that is immediately reflected in the so-called "Indo food". The restaurant is not very expensive, but even with the reasonable prices, the price/quality ratio is out of balance. The fairly limited choice is absolutely not the problem at the buffet, which is logical for a friendly price. But I was very disappointed with the quality of the food. I'm hardly ever in the kitchen, but I bet I can prepare food better than what was in the containers here. Strange that you charge money for this. Couple of specific examples - Watery beans and tasteless, from a jar? - Everything that is spicy simply has the same sambal added to it. - Mushy (doughy) pieces in the ice cream? Cooking at toddler level would almost be an overstatement. Too bad, because the hostess was very friendly. Only the "cook" in the basement better stop heating up food. I really don't understand why people give this 5 stars, are there several people who prepare food working here? If not, I wonder what those "5 star" people have to eat at home. I'm really a glutton and the quality doesn't have to be perfect if I want to eat decently, but this is the first time that I was actually reluctant to pay for food in a "restaurant". Even though I have eaten in at least 10 different Chinese restaurants.

Ridiculous! Went here for dinner at the buffet with 7 people on Mother's Day. There was no bread with the soup the entire time. Half of it was gone by the first round. Then it is said that everything is replenished, after literally 40 minutes 8 skewers of satay were replenished, even fries were too much to ask for. Spekkoek was gone, not replenished either. Ridiculously bad

Selamat is delicious as always. I took the bami rames. The portion was very generous, more than enough for two people. I ordered takeaway, I indicated a time and when I picked it up the food was already ready. Plus the food was hot!

Delicious food, delivered on time and because the fried banana was forgotten last time, we now received the forgotten portion and an extra portion as a service. Nicely resolved!

Everything we ordered was perfect. From the rice table (more than half of which is vegetarian upon request), the spring rolls to the Bami Rames. Large portions, leaving almost half of what we took with us. Recommended!

I wonder if the (cook or the person who tries to cook the food) ever tastes his own food before he sells it, it is a shame that you dare to sell this as a chef, the meat is very dry and burnt and the sauce is so salty that you can't eat it and just throw it all in the trash.

Forget the some critical reviews. Wow! How refined and tasty is the food at Selamat Datang: truly originally Indonesian. We have had a wonderful evening of pampering. Not that fast slick of the fast Western culture. No, you really imagine yourself in super friendly Indonesia. We enjoyed!

Terrible it was all you can eat. What a disappointment. Satay was dry and had thick skin on it. Meat dishes also had thick skin on them. Babi bacon was dried out. The starters were only spring roll fries or chicken nuggets. And the totality of the dishes was very poor. Very little choice. The dessert bar very bad. We don't come and order there anymore. The soup bar was not there and you could choose to order in advance from tomato soup to onion soup. No, a waste of money

The vibe of this restaurant is really good, the location is so beautiful and like a movie set up. The restaurant is halal & the place is hygienic. Arrived here for lunch with high expectations but was hugely disappointed as the food was stale. The taste was good but you could say that it was reheated many times. The chicken, beef had gone stiff due to it. Left most of the stuff because we were scared if it would cause any health issues. The crackers & prawns were good 👍🏻 Nothing was fresh except for the desert it was yummy & piping hot freshly made. I think they have to reduce the number of food items/dishes. Would suggest to have 5 or 6 unique Indonesian dishes rather than 30. I think they should do justice to the price we are paying for the meal. The customer is not a fool to differentiate between fresh & reheated food!

Had dinner with the whole family on Sunday, May 29. 2 very busy little children. A nice place had been prepared for us where we could move freely. So also the little children. We were served very friendly and correctly and the food (ongoing buffet) was excellent.

Excellent restaurant, good service with delicious and well-prepared meals. The catering is also excellent. Fast and neat delivery.
