We had heard from several people that the food here is good. But this was shockingly disappointing… I don't write reviews often, and we really aren't picky eaters, but this just wasn't okay.

I order from Shabu Shabu quite often; I think it tastes delicious. It is pricey, but truly delicious. The all-you-can-eat is also mega tasty. On busy days, it can sometimes take a bit longer for your food, but otherwise, it's fine.

We eat here monthly; always good food, good service, and a good atmosphere!

I used the online pickup service. I was welcomed kindly and the food was delicious. Well packaged and nice and warm. I can recommend it.

Fine Sushi, not high-end culinary food, but just good. Shabu Shabu in Zoetermeer is of much better quality. Some maintenance is needed in Amersfoort, though. The ice cream container was partially defective and sealed shut with a piece of cardboard.

Just ordered a pokebowl at Shabu Shabu Amersfoort, unfortunately they forgot the rice! I've never experienced this before, it seems like a bad joke. Next time it will be Sushi Koi! I think at least they won't forget the rice there.

Very bad food, it was inedible. Several friends now have stomach aches and I myself got food poisoning. Definitely not recommended. Everything they serve you is junk and the service is bad.

We have been here several times. Download their loyalty app, it makes sense if you visit more than once. 8 rounds of food that you order on their app. Good food, fresh and tasty. Dessert is not included in the lunch menu.

A 6, not too much variety for halal eaters; only the chicken is halal, and even that isn't entirely halal. It was a busy Saturday night and the service did their best. Unfortunately, many dishes lacked flavor.

Because we didn't have much time, we ordered à la carte. Never do this because you get absolutely nothing!!! We spent 70 euros... 1 skewer of yakitori for 6 euros?? We expected 3 skewers on the plate, like they always serve it when you order all-you-can-eat. And it was like that with all the dishes, what a disgrace. The staff could have warned us about that. We are really never going here again. After eating, we walked across the street to get something at McDonald's. Below is a review of the seaweed, which is completely accurate; you get a mini container and half of it is rice. Too ridiculous for words.

The lunch deal is great, 23 euros for a limited but still certainly good menu. Nice and quiet, so you don't need to reserve. In the evening, the full menu is always delicious.

We had a delicious meal here! Lots of choice, ordering via the QR code was very easy. And when you pressed the service button, someone came to your table very quickly. Friendly staff. They realized it was my daughter's birthday, so during dessert, a beautiful sparkler fountain appeared on the table. We will definitely be coming back here more often.

We just dropped by because we saw this along the highway on our way home. We had a good meal, but after 3 rounds we were already full. Tasty sushi and small dishes; we especially liked the black pepper beef.

I almost never post reviews, but I am making an exception. The restaurant is located in an uninviting location. We could have overlooked that if the food had been good, but unfortunately, that was not the case. Some sushi was still almost frozen, far too cold, while other sushi was too warm, making it unpleasant. The meat was tasteless and greasy, and many dishes looked very different from those on the menu. The dessert, however, was tasty. We left within an hour. We did mention this feedback when leaving, and the waitress handled it well. Unfortunately, we are still €140 poorer (3 people) and have a stomach ache.

We had a delicious meal last night and really enjoyed ourselves. Friendly staff (young girls and boys, all very polite!) who regularly ask if everything is to our liking. Food is served quickly and empty plates are immediately cleared from the table. You can also order drinks via the online ordering system, but the wait staff actually anticipates this every time by asking if you would like another drink. Good portions and sushi portions of 2 pieces is just enough, as are 4 dishes per person per round. Small tip: perhaps add a sauce sometimes, for example with fries (mayo) and with a nigiri cup. There are also plenty of choices at the dessert buffet. We would love to come and eat at your place again if we are in the area!

Worst sushi ever! The tuna was completely grey and smelled terrible.. the pokebowl rice was completely sieved with water… no idea what they are doing but the sauce tasted strongly of vinegar??? Service was extremely bad, the lady indicated on the phone that I had to place a new order and that they couldn't do anything for me.. fine, but then you can expect a bad review… for me, definitely never again, oh yeah our order was 70-80 euros I only got two chopsticks if I wanted more I had to pay extra 2.- per set, literally too sad for words!

I would have preferred to resolve this incident properly and over the phone with the management of Shabu to go, but after waiting on hold for over half an hour, customer service is simply unreachable. Since no other option is offered, I *must* make this public via this channel. Today, on July 13th at approximately 6:25 PM, our children were playing outside on the grass in front of our house in the Nieuwland neighborhood. A grey Opel Corsa belonging to Shabu to go sped through our street (an absolute 30 km/h zone) at excessive speed. Two young boys were behind the wheel of the car, smoking while driving and looking at their phones. Due to this completely irresponsible behavior, they nearly swerved and almost hit our playing children. What makes the situation even more shocking is that they did not slow down for a second after this near-miss and simply drove on at high speed. It concerns a grey Opel Corsa with license plate JPD-25-D. This driving behavior is not only antisocial, it is life-threatening. Your delivery drivers drive around in a mobile calling card for your company; sending these kinds of people out on the road with this kind of behavior is unacceptable. I hope that management takes responsibility and does not allow these drivers back on the road before there are actual casualties!

The food was good. We were welcomed very nicely upon entry and the service was fine. Our 5-year-old daughter got tasty fries with fry sauce on the side. No problem at all. I will definitely come back here again.

This is truly my favorite sushi restaurant. Delicious food, friendly staff, and a beautiful restaurant. I come here three times a year and I order quite often, but I am actually always very satisfied.

We had a nice meal before going to Emma Kok at the AFAS in Leusden.

The food was pretty okay and the service was friendly, so we thought we would go home satisfied. Unfortunately, our stomachs had other ideas. Even before we got home, my boyfriend had an emergency mission with his intestines. The return journey unexpectedly turned into a race against time. We won't soon forget the evening, but probably for the wrong reasons. Therefore, we unfortunately do not recommend this place.

We arrived on a Saturday at 8:30 PM. The waitress didn't seem very happy about that. It came across as if everyone already wanted to go home at that time, even though the kitchen closes at 10 PM. We are regular customers at Shabu Shabu Amersfoort. That is now coming to an end. Normally, you are always greeted kindly when you enter. Today (Whit Monday), everything has changed: no greeting. Where has that nice gentleman with the mustache gone? Instead, a young employee shuffled over and wanted to seat us at a cramped two-person table. While normally it is no problem at all to be seated at a more spacious four-person table upon request, that was not possible today. The restaurant was not even half full, but it was expected to be very busy tonight, meaning they wouldn't have enough tables. Well, at that moment, you could really still reserve for any time tonight. Moreover, we have often come to eat at much busier times and were simply able to take a seat at a four-person table. This is such a shame. Due to the heat, they have apparently forgotten the concept of "Service." From now on, we will eat elsewhere.

We have been coming here for years. But today the atmosphere was like a henhouse. Screaming ladies in the background going wild. If you like quiet Japanese vibes, then this is not recommended. The worst food I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Nothing tasted good, or it tasted stale. The serving was also completely devoid of charm and style. It was the first and last time; seriously, try another chain for the same price first, because this is truly terrible.

I got food poisoning here and was very sick from it. It tasted fine, not very special but not disgusting either, but there was definitely something wrong with it. The ambiance looks nice, but it is not very clean. Additionally, we constantly had to chase after orders that were not being brought in full. We had already inquired with a staff member (team leader?) who briefly walked to the kitchen and then walked off in another direction (without giving us any feedback). She then worked around us and avoided eye contact, even when she walked past and we looked at her or waved at her. We saw no one else and pressed the assistance button, but no one responded to that either. Eventually, there was someone cleaning behind us; she did respond to us and helped us. She was very friendly and deserves stars in my opinion, but her boss and the food do not.

Delicious food and good price for all you can eat at the lunch. Dinner is a bit pricey but the variety of food is also more appealing than the lunch. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the region. 100% recommended.

We are never going here again. We were here with the family for Mother's Day. Half of the orders didn't arrive. It took an hour and a half before some sushi was delivered. Later we were told that there weren't enough chefs present....

Make you hostage of your own food and money!! Force you to stare at the ceiling and table for 10minutes before you are allowed to order one, yes ONE, piece of sushi at a time. Unlimited food if you have unlimited time to just site bite one piece and then count 10 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous.

Food is reasonable, service is generally poor, and the atmosphere among the staff is tense. The people serving the food really do their best, but you can't reward them. It turns out that the "TIPS" go straight into the manager/owner's wallet. Not exactly motivating for the employees!! Now with the hot days, the air conditioning is really a plus; turn it on. It is all very unfortunate because the hygiene also leaves much to be desired; just wiping a table back and forth with a cloth is obviously not clean. The woman/gentleman doing this is downright grumpy. It is not conducive to your customers who pay your salaries. There are still really a lot of areas for improvement, and I will change my review if we ever eat there again. Everyone deserves a second chance (owner/managers).

A very expensive greasy spoon. Tough chicken disguised as a lot of crust; it’s never spicy or hot, everything flattened with bulk sauce, lots of disguised slop, and the fries are better at McDonald's. And on top of that, you have to order on your own miniphone. Awfully lazy concept. Avoid.

Just stumbled upon Shabu Shabu. I picked up some to-go. One of us had sushi and the other had beef. It was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was wonderfully peaceful and quiet, with no noise. I could easily sit here and eat. I wish you all the best! The ladies from Twente.

Unfortunately, I vomited all night and day and was miserable for a few days due to food poisoning. I think it was the taiyaki with red-bean filling; they were either way past their sell-by date or the oil they were fried in wasn't good.

Nothing to report other than that you have to go there yourself to eat or get take-away!

I chose this place based on reviews, which were very good, and I thought that the experience would be positive. We booked a table about a week and a half before the event. In our message, we indicated our preferred seating location. Upon arrival, we were told that we couldn't sit there because all the seats were taken. The place where we were seated was covered in crumbs. The waitress cleaned the neighboring tables by wiping the tables and sofas where you sit with a single rag. The wine was served in a dirty glass, and it was cheap. The sushi wasn't bad, but I didn't get everything I ordered. There was no one near the ice cream cart, and we noticed children playing with the ice cream, sticking their fingers in it. I didn't want to eat there anymore..

The sushi is otherwise excellent, but the two-person tables are far too close together. If you're traveling with two people, you can't reserve a nice, quiet spot. If you have sensory processing issues, it's best not to eat here. When making a reservation over the phone, they seem very accommodating to our request for a quiet dining spot, but upon arrival, the manager unfortunately says there's nothing they can do, as it's all about profit.

Was ok nothing special just the typical all you can eat sushi place.

We had a wonderful meal here. We were actually planning to get takeout, but ended up ordering all you can eat. The food was delicious. The portions were generous, allowing you to try a lot. It's just a shame you have to pay extra for some things because drinks aren't included. The ice cream was incredibly soft, half-melted. We also had store-bought desserts and canned fruit. This is a real shame because everything in the main course was deliciously fresh.

I haven't had such delicious and high-quality sushi in a long time… friendly and fast service. The food arrived quickly. It was unlimited (on a Monday!). We were thrilled.

Low quality, small and not as described , disappointed!

This is really a shame. The quality of the food was a bit lower than what I'm used to, and I also found it very strange that they filled the seaweed salad (which already comes in a very small bowl) with rice to make the bowl look fuller. This is the first time I've seen this at a sushi restaurant.

Just picked it up. Once home, the rice was dry, the eel was hard, and the sushi had a sour aftertaste. Bad and not cheap.

Brunch on Christmas Day, easy to do!

I ordered from Shabu the past two days and was unfortunately surprised and disappointed by the quality. The sushi was sloppily rolled and the rolls were very small. I called about this and expressed my dissatisfaction. It was handled promptly and my order was exchanged. This took about an hour, which was fine. The standard rolls I received afterward were indeed better and neatly made. But unfortunately, the rolls that cost €13 were again small, while you'd expect larger pieces and better quality from these rolls. Moreover, the tuna was very chewy, like chewing cardboard, which is definitely not typical for sushi at this price point. After eating, I suffered from severe heartburn all night. I normally always order from Shabu because I consciously choose quality, even if it's more expensive. But if I'm getting this quality for these prices, I might as well order somewhere else and get more for my money. I hope Shabu takes this seriously and brings the quality back up to the level I'm used to.

We had a lovely meal for two. The restaurant's atmosphere is more practical than cozy. Ordering via a QR code per table works great, but the dishes are delivered mixed up. We received dishes from round 1 in round 3. The kitchen was busy. Reserving in advance is definitely recommended. The all-inclusive price does not include drinks.

We've eaten at Shabu Shabu many times and it's usually fantastic. Especially for an all-you-can-eat restaurant, it didn't feel that way. There was plenty of choice and it was very tasty! Today, however, it wasn't good, and we left after 45 minutes, leaving the food behind because the quality was poor. The beef tataki was as if it had been made in the morning and had been sitting in the fridge all day—absolutely cold, overcooked, and dry from the long time in the fridge. The sushi fell apart and lacked flavor this time. Actually, the only good thing we'd had was fried, but there was definitely room for improvement there too. Oh, and the tables were really too close to the neighbors. I understand you shouldn't have super high expectations for an all-you-can-eat restaurant, and that costs are also rising dramatically for restaurants, but unfortunately, the cost-cutting is clearly noticeable here.

We've been there quite often since the first location. This was our first time at the "new" location. The food, service, and atmosphere are nothing like they used to be. Instead of an iPad, you now have to use your own phone to look and order. That doesn't work for me. The staff handles tickets and has no idea what the atmosphere is like; there's no interaction. No familiarity or experience. It's become a factory, which is a real shame.

Our ordering system had some glitches, which meant we unfortunately didn't get anything for a few rounds. This was resolved by a friendly, mature woman. What did bother us was the conversation the waitstaff were having at the bar, practically next to our table. They were evaluating guests and discussing their personal lives at length. I understand that colleagues sometimes discuss things among themselves during work, but we could barely hear our own conversation because of this. The discussion of other guests is what really motivates me to write this review. All in all, you can have a really nice dinner here, but I'd suggest you ladies be a little more discreet at the bar. Edit: The review below is from two years ago. We still regularly have lunch at Shabu Shabu. Last Saturday, we had another fantastic meal. Everything was simply delicious. The food is delivered quickly, and the service is consistent. They are attentive and fast. It's been our favorite sushi restaurant for years. We had lunch last Saturday on spec. The food is really good (except for the duck skewer, which was tough. I couldn't get through it), and the service is very friendly and attentive. There's plenty of parking, although I can imagine it being chaotic in the evenings with the McDonald's nearby. I also think the food at the old location was a bit more refined and luxurious. It was also quite chilly inside. But that doesn't change the fact that it's still a pleasant experience at Shabu Shabu.

We had a wonderful meal at this new concept for us. I think I would have been thrilled with the chopstick holder the kids received, too.

You can gorge yourself on the most delicious dishes here for a fixed price. I think the quality of the dishes is excellent for an AYCA concept. The service is quick and friendly.

This establishment feels intimate and luxurious, exactly the kind of place you expect a quality experience to be. The duck was prepared beautifully and every meat – whether beef or poultry – was incredibly tender, not tough and chewy like it is often elsewhere. I give the kitchen a lot of credit for this. The sushi surprised me with perfectly prepared rice and fresh fish, so it felt really premium. Unlike other all you can eats, where it is more about quantity, this one is about quality and gastronomic experience. The only thing that spoiled my impression were the drinks – they tasted more like ice water than homemade lemonade. And when we were seated, we were told that we could only order another dish after 8 minutes, but in fact we waited over 10, which seemed a bit unprofessional. Overall, however, this is one of the best establishments where you don’t just come to fill your stomach, but you also leave feeling like you ate something special.

I just went there for the first time. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was great. I could just sit back and look at what I wanted to eat without being rushed. And the packaging? Fantastic. Everything has its own packaging, even the soy sauce packets. Really cute.

Price warning - there's no prices, nothing in English and the bill came to over £75 for: - 16 (8pc each) pieces of sushi & two drinks. Staff were not confident, mumbled, kept standing with thier backs to us serving others such was both unpleasant and not necessary to talk to both people on other tables. Food was very fast but definitely mediocre quality and in no way worth a high price like that. Saki wasn't tasty. Great atmosphere from public and building was very nice inside. No English translation menu (again) Won't be coming back because that was far too expensive and the above left us feeling bad about ourselves.

After a long time, we went back to Shabu. Unfortunately, they've gotten rid of tablets, so you have to fiddle with your own phone. There were only two physical menus, which is a bit tight for a table of six. Maybe we should have asked for extra menus ourselves. The food was okay, but the service didn't seem very interested. Ordering a bottle of sparkling water (it's not on the menu) was a nightmare. Next time, we'll definitely go back to our favorite in Hilversum.

You can only order 2 roll pieces at a time, which is very little. The quality is meh. The unagi was spongy and just not enjoyable. The rolls are also not very interesting. Lots of kataifi on the rolls, which was stale, same goes for the tempura batter bits on top of the tempura shrimp roll. Overall left feeling quite disappointed. Especially since it's not cheap at all. 91 euros for 2 people (we only had 3 drinks in total). Also sad that there was no miso soup on the menu. Won't be going back.

Great place to enjoy delicious sushi with your family! The quality has really improved over the past three years. We were surprised! Generally friendly service. And the dessert bar is super fun for the kids! As for the atmosphere, it's a nice place, but a bit clinical. What is nice is the space between the tables, so you have a nice sense of privacy.

We went to eat there last week on Wednesday. The food was great as always, and the service was friendly. However, there was something that bothered us. There was a group of teenage girls standing near the toilet area. They were running around, playing, and making noise in front of the mirror for a long time — nearly an hour. Their behavior blocked the way for other customers and created a disruptive atmosphere. In my opinion, your restaurant is a place for nice and respectful customers who come to relax and enjoy great food. Situations like this can ruin the experience. I would like to recommend that, if something like this happens again, the manager should kindly ask them to behave appropriately — as it felt like they were treating the place as their own private space. I’m sharing this because I truly like your restaurant and want it to maintain its welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. I hope to visit again next time without the disturbance of loud and disrespectful teenagers. Thank you with respect.

An extremely disappointing experience. The young man at the door was very cheerful and friendly. The rest of the staff was downright rude. We had a reservation for 7:00 PM and weren't aware that the restaurant or kitchen would close early. At 9:15 PM, we were literally yelled at, "If you still want to order, you have to do it now." After that, we were asked twice if we still wanted the dessert buffet, and both times we indicated that we did. The third time, we were told again that if we wanted dessert, we had to leave now because they wanted to clear it. Furthermore, while we were still eating, they kept clearing the table, even taking the spoons while we still had tea and coffee. Then we had to pay during dessert, but we were allowed to drink our tea and coffee in peace. Meanwhile, the staff, wearing helmets, literally waited for us to leave, and when we left, there was a literal CHEERING. We are paying guests, and this behavior is completely unacceptable. Very disappointing because the food was decent. But highly recommended. If you're so eager to get your guests out of the restaurant as quickly as possible, you should be more open about your opening hours. It's unheard of to come to your table three times just because your staff wants to go home on time. It's truly disgusting. Disgraceful treatment. Don't go here if you want a pleasant evening.

Wide choice in sushi, but also enough meat dishes. Maximum 2 hours to eat, but you will get your belly full with 4 dishes per person per time. In addition, a delicious dessert bar with plenty of choice. Definitely worth repeating!!

Nice restaurant and good service. The food was a bit disappointing compared to the locations in Rotterdam; the chicken torikatsu was really fried way too long and tasted burnt, the gyoza were not as crispy as we were used to, the fried rice was simply tasteless and the honey chicken wings did not taste like honey (shouldn't there have been sauces on them?). But again, the service was very good and the dessert bar was also fine!
