Shanghai Garden in Wijk 16 Delftse Hout

The food was of high quality, the chef cooked authentic dishes, and the prices were reasonable. It cost us less than €30 per person for the three of us. We ordered four dim sum dishes, lamb chops, and roast duck. The restaurant even gave us a complimentary pot of tea. We had a very enjoyable meal.

Very tasty dim sums and mains. Quality of food was really nice and fresh. Service was very friendly, fast, efficient and professional. Lots of space in the restaurant for even large groups. Lots of menu options, including Vegan options. Can heartily recommend!

They moved from Delft North to Leiden. It's not even called Shanghai garden in Leiden... much too big for them, too cold and the food tasted completely different! Too bad, we used to eat with these people every week but are now going elsewhere!

Visited on a special occasion. Parking Morspoort closest by, just a slight walk away. A bit odd layout but prob due to building age. Food on occasion was special like roasted pig and duck, but very good (for a picky Asian). Not one dish too salty. Staff was friendly. Has a side entrance especially for takeaway.

I went there to try their dim sum. I was not dissappointed. The rest of the menu looked promising, so a next visit is very probable. Having your own means of transportation to get there is very preferable

Jaren geleden een goede ervaring gehadp, daarom laatst geweest. Onvriendelijke service. Bij verzoek om geen ei in onze nasi te verwerken (wat jaren geleden wel kon), zijn we erg onvriendelijk behandeld. Echt waardeloos!

Super slechte service, ze trekken hun eigen ras voor en laten de andere mensen wachten. Ik heb dit als heel naar ervaren en kom hier niet meer terug!!

Vroeger vaak gegeten bij dit restaurant maar sinds kort zijn er nieuwe mensen die niet klantvriendelijk zijn. Ze helpen eerst hun soort mensen en komen met een nare straling naar je toe als je ze wenkt ze zijn racistisch. Ze geven je het gevoel dat je niet welkom bent. De chef wilt ook geen uitzondering maken om bepaalde ingrediënten eruit te halen, bijvoorbeeld als je voor iets allergisch bent dan kan je jezelf geen chef noemen. Ik heb het vooral gemunt op die oude vrouw ze is echt een oude heks ze heeft een verkeerde bestelling opgenomen en geeft ons de schuld. Ze maken het eten ook niet vers. Conclusie hele slechte restaurant.

Often eaten here from Dim Sum to dinner. Ate again last Sunday. It was wonderful and enjoyable again. The real Chinese authentic sweet and sour chicken. Shrimp with broccoli. And ordered delicious noodles with steak again! Food was served quickly and it was busy! We always receive good help! Nice staff and very helpful. We received delicious Chinese tea again! That makes me happy! We will definitely come back often for dim sum or dinner! The atmosphere in the restaurant is good and many Chinese people come to eat there! And it's free parking in front of the door! Recommended for anyone who wants to taste authentic Chinese food.

I've been there five times and the food is worse each time. I won't go there again.

The plates were dirty and the food was mid… any asian could tell that the rice wasnt freshly cooked and it felt like majority of the food had been microwaved. The wonton soup and some other dishes had a bit of chewyness inside of them

We have been going to this place for four years. We liked the food. The atmosphere is good, what you would normally expect in a Chinese restaurant. But the service level has been going downhill, the new service lady's attitude is terrible, she is more like giving orders to costumers, impatient to communicate with us over the menu and just told us off as our fault, totally ruined our mood.

Shanghai Garden is located along the highway on the 1st floor of the Shanghai hotel. This restaurant is popular for parties because of its convenient location with free parking and the delicious food. Over the past 10 years I have visited this restaurant several times for both large parties and "just" dining out. The quality is consistent and the staff is what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant. Fast and efficient, sometimes friendly and occasionally a bit curt. The interior is nothing to write home about and quite messy. In a number of reviews I read about starters and main courses, the kitchen probably doesn't even realize that there is an expectation for starters and main courses. Dishes are served as soon as they are ready to be served and are intended for sharing. When in Rome, I would say. During our last visit we had a roasted suckling pig, asparagus with macadamia, fried Japanese tofu, hofan with beef (thick rice noodles with soy sauce), salt & pepper chicken wings and shrimps, duck with pancakes and fried pork belly and char siu. Everything was tasty as always. I can also recommend this restaurant for the seafood dishes they serve (perhaps only upon request in advance) such as the sea bass with ginger, soy and spring onion, the lobster and the steamed scallops with vermicelli and garlic. You've come to the right place for delicious Chinese food.

The waiter in the restaurant has a very bad attitude and is extremely impatient in front of the guests. Please ask the person in charge of the restaurant to give a reasonable explanation.

Wij kennen dit restaurant al heel lang en het eten is altijd goed van kwaliteit, zeker voor een Chinees restaurant in Nederland. Daarom komen we hier zeker zes tot tien keer per jaar. Hier kun je ook gratis parkeren wat een heel probleem is als je in de binnenstad van Den Haag of Amsterdam dezelfde kwaliteit wil vinden. Wat ons echter van het hart moet is dat de inrichting nu echt wel aan vervanging toe is. De stoelen zijn niet meer schoon te krijgen en vallen bijna uit elkaar. Net als bij bijna alle Chinese restaurants zijn de toiletten afschuwelijk en afstotend. Wij begrijpen niet hoe men dit zo kan laten lopen. Alles wat kapot kan is kapot, zeep en papier worden niet tijdig aangevuld. Helaas is dit echt een reden om met buitenlandse gasten een ander restaurant te zoeken omdat we ons schamen hen hier naartoe te brengen!!

Easily the worst dim sum ever. You tiao was heavy and oily, shao mai looked grey and tasted like nothing, cha shao bao just ok, congee ok. Don’t bother, far better places out there

Comparable à un buffet à volonté en France, sauf que tout est chère ! Presque 10€ la bouteille d’eau, on croit rêver. Des nouilles? En supplément même si rien ne vous laisse penser que c’est le cas(surtout pas le serveur). Bref, une belle arnaque à touriste.

This is one of my favorite dim sum restaurants. You can park here for free. The food is good. It is often not busy.

Very nice and good chinese food. But the main meals a bit expansive compared to Chinese food restaurants in the City. But still recommended for easy access, dim sum, authentic Chinese!

Lekker eten en leuke bediening!

Food was okay, it used to be better. A solid 3*. We are a regular customer and even organised a wedding at this location. However, the place has turned into something I don't recognise anymore. Tea was spilled. No one helped, cleaned everything ourselves. Including grabbing new table sheets. When we tried to order drinks, they kept saying "one moment" after awhile we just walked up to the bar to order drinks. When we were done with the food, we signaled after around 15 minutes that we were done, signaled again after another half an hour. After a total of one hour, a part of the group left and then we finally got the fruit. The fruit was very cold and the pineapple looked brown and dark yellow. We didn't dare to try that.

The food is good and the restaurant is often empty when we visited it, which is nice. I saw a lot of people complained about the service but i think it is just that the staff is less attentive towards the customers .

De gerechten zijn beetje flauw.

Als je niet van authentiek Chinees eten houdt, dan kun je beter voor de Babi Pangang gaan. Want wat sommige niet schijnen te begrijpen, is dat dit een authentiek Chinees restaurant is. De Nederlander is Babi Pangang gewend, wat totaal niet authentiek is: ook is de Nederlander niet gewend, om aan ronde tafels en met stokjes te eten. Wij komen hier eigenlijk iedere keer, als wij weer eens naar de Ambassade in Den Haag moeten. Fijne is, dat hier ook een oplaadpunt is voor electrische autos. Dus tijdens het eten, word de auto bijgeladen. Wel jammer dat het een laadpunt van Shell Recharge is, dus dat is telkens weer kijken welke laadpas het goedkoopste is. PS dat is in ons geval dus de Düsseldorf Stadtwerke laadpas, daarmee kost het € 0,49 per kWh en niet € 0,67 per kWh welke Shell in rekening brengt.

Wan tan soep had weinig smaak, zoetzure kip was taai. Tofu gebakken met peper en zout was lekker. Dim Sum is gemiddeld. Restaurant is vrij gehorig.

We hadden uitgebreid gegeten aangezien het een feest was, en we hadden een paar tafels gereserveerd. Eten waren lekker. En de sfeer is goed. Enige wat minder is dat de toiletten niet heel erg hygienisch is.

Eten is lekker. Alleen mist vaak besteld gerechten. Al 3 keer gebeurd. Bij telefonisch bestelling om later op halen. 1 keer terug gebeld. Belooft bij volgende keer vergoeden. Veel.moeite met medewerkers. Dus bij afhalen goed checken voor dat je weggaan. Eten is echt wel in order...

Dimsum en roerbakschotels zoals ngau ho (drooggebakken rijststicks) smaakt absoluut prima. De prijzen zijn wel redelijk hoog. Verschillende zalen beschikbaar voor partijen en feestjes, maar een deel van het meubilair staat gewoon in een hoek op elkaar gestapeld alsof dat een opslag is. De toiletten bij het restaurant zijn schoon, maar broodnodig aan renovatie toe. Groot pluspunt is gratis parkeren op het terrein van het hotel.

Eten is erg lekker, het duurt wel even maar dan heb je tijd om lekker bij te praten. Service is wel okay maar kan wel beter. Genoeg parkeerplaatsen aanwezig.

Dinner was heerlijk alleen de prijs was niet goedkoop

Eten is goed, service is gewoon niet attent en sfeer is normaal. Prijs kwaliteit is veel duurder dan voorheen, maar goed dan zijn alle restaurants.

Eten in het restaurant is heerlijk alleen hier mag meer gepoetst worden het restaurant ziet er oud uit dat maakt niet zoveel uit maar de glaswand was erg vuil en ook tafelkleden die er vies bijhangen en de stoelranden waar je vastpakt kunnen ook wel n doekje gebruiken. De bar onder en het ontbijt is niets op aan te merken ziet er gezellig en sfeervol uit en schoon. De kamer was stoffig, toilet randen vies en douche en wasbak water lopen niet door. 2de dag hadden ze beter schoongemaakt, jammer van de eerste indruk bij aankomst.

Met z'n tweeën op een zaterdag uiteten gegaan. Echt authentiek Chinees eten, heerlijk smaakt echt als in China 🇨🇳! De service was prima, we werden ontvangen door de ene collega, maar werden bediend door allemaal verschillende mensen. De service was vlot, ondanks dat het restaurant half vol zat, maar zeker genoeg klanten. We kregen het eten binnen 10 minuten geserveerd, en het was zeker genoeg voor twee personen. De prijs was gunstig voor deze omgeving, zo'n 50 euro voor twee personen. De sfeer is typisch Chinees restaurant van de jaren tachtig. Niks bijzonders, de toilet heeft een kraan die niet werkt, de handendroger is niet ingeplugd, behang valt af van de muur af, en niemand die er naar omkijkt. Maar aan de andere kant, het heeft ook wel weer wat, beetje dat authentieke van vroeger. Absolute aanrader voor echt lekker eten! Zou ik er terug komen? Zeker weten!

Hygiëne was beyond horrible. The toilets were extremely dirty and it was over flooded, but no one border to fix it even after telling them. The food didn’t taste good and were quite expensive. Evening dishes were at least 23euro each and with meat it was around 30euro. But the quality was really lacking, like the roasted pork belly. It was not crunchy at all and it was thinly sliced with a lot of fat. The char siu tasted light, almost without taste and was marinated with too much red powder. And other dishes tasted too salty, except the boiled chicken, which was boiled just right and it was tasty with salted ginger sauce since you can decide how much you can put on it. Lots of dimsums were not available in the evening so a bit disappointing. Expected to be offered some sliced fruits or dessert soup at the end since the bill was over 300euro, but nothing at all. Won’t be coming back. It was only because friends wanted to come here and it was free parking.

Great dim sum, very tasty, excellent food selection

Heerlijk authentiek Chinees eten. Op een donderdagmiddag hier gedimsumt. Ambiance is ongezellig en typisch Chinees, kale inrichting en felle TL verlichting is weinig sfeer. Maargoed we komen voor het eten en hebben enorme trek. De volgende gerechten bestelden wij: pekingeend met flensjes, retichcake, rundermaag, kippenvingers met azijn en zwartebonensaus, sieuw mai, garnalenflensjes, kleefrijst in lotusblad, salade met eend en kwal, wantan soep, gestoomd broodje met vlees, garnalen en rundvlees dumplings, loempia's in tofuvellen en dikke noodles met garnalen, varkensvlees en visballen. Alles was lekker!! Dimsum is hier top. De Chinese ijsthee smaakte ook goed. Ik was met een peuter van 2 en er werd een kinderstoel met kinderbordjes en bestek geregeld. Heel fijn. Service is snel en vriendelijk. Ik las onder de reviews dat de wc's smerig waren maar tijdens mijn bezoek was die goed schoon. Hebben wij geluk gehad denk ik. Het restaurant zit gevestigd in een hotel. Er is gratis parkeergelegenheid te vinden voor het hotel.
