Terrible experience at Sher Khan due to the extremely rude female staff member at the counter. She initially agreed to take my order for two Naans, but after getting a personal phone call, she refused me, claiming Naan wasn't available—right after serving fresh Naan to the customer before me. When I pointed this out, she disrespectfully replied, 'It’s my choice, I won't make it now. Take your order or leave.' ​She then served my Butter Chicken with one hand while holding her phone to her ear with the other, completely glove-free. The presentation was messy, and her behavior was totally unprofessional. Management urgently needs to address her attitude and hygiene practices.

Ordered butter chicken wrap.. funky taste, after that i got food poisoning. I shitted all night long for more than 24 hours.. i see now someone has already written review about getting food poisoning before me eating here.. sadly i didn't check review first before eating here.. i don't recommend this place.. food hygiene is very bad.. they need to be checked and fined for selling food like this.. now i am sick for 2 days. Shitting and pissing myself..

Pretty much cheapest place to get Indian food in Amsterdam that I've encountered. I have only had the Chicken Tikka Masala so far, but I haven't been disappointed. The naan is also pretty big so whatever you order I think you'll get your money's worth. It's the place to go if you don't want to break the bank, and in my opinion the quality of the food is not much worse than most places although I've definitely had better Indian before. The mango lassi could be better.

Delicious! Highly recommend the chicken tikka kebab. Chicken thighs are freshly cooked over open flame in front of you. Served with a freshly made naan and salad. Really hit the spot!

Love the food .. try their naan and Tandoori chickens

First of all, all the options I initially wanted from the menu were not available. I ended up getting the butter paneer naan, which was like eating a tough pancake with powdered sugar sauce. The meal was extremely sweet, not what you would be looking for in a diner meal. And the salad was just old wet lettuce and cucumber which all felt very out of place in the wrap. I felt really bad but I had to throw out more than half of it, which I would normally never do. Very upsetting.

Be aware of food poisoning… Being an Indian I ate and the same night I felt in easy and next day I got a diarrhea (loose stools), it ruined next 2 days tour. They served long preserved frozen and looked meat for many a days.

On Sunday, April 12, 2026, I ate at Shirkhan's in the food halls. I ordered a wrap with lamb curry and butter chicken. Unfortunately, the evening after this visit, I developed severe symptoms indicative of food poisoning. I spent the entire night writhing in pain in my stomach. I subsequently sent a private message to bring this to their attention. It is a shame that Shirkhan is not responding at all. A missed opportunity, it seems to me. I was in India in October and always ate delicious food there without any complaints. I did not expect to contract this from Indian food in Amsterdam. I will never eat here again. Be warned.

My experience at Shirkhan was unfortunately disappointing. The staff seemed unfriendly and incompetent. I had a simple request: to have my wrap cut in half so I could eat or share it more easily. This was refused without any understandable explanation, which I found very unprofessional. While the food tasted okay, I experienced mild stomach problems immediately afterward, which further negatively impacted my overall impression. Overall, I cannot recommend visiting this restaurant.

Shir Khan is like a flavour of Asian food typically Bangladeshi cuisines & so do India’s. It's one of the best here in Food hallen. The big guy who was the chef really good service oriental. He has the right attitude towards customers. Hoping for success to Shir Khan with business so do the guy name called Kausar. Do welll on business.

The food was great! Very flavorful, and not too spicy. The portion was a good size and Samir was very kind. It's a food hall, so it's tough to give a full 5 stars for atmosphere. But as far as that goes, it's a big, wide open brick hall, and it was clean, so good enough.

It's one of the stalls inside the Foodhallen, I must say good food and ready in a short time. I got a Chicken Tikka for myself and a gluten free Butter Chicken for another person. Perhaps the meat is a little lacking in salt but still good.

Mediocre lamb wrap, barely any seasoning or flavor and huge chunks that are hard to chew. The chickpea balls were okay though. Very bland all in all.

I had a great experience with my meal. I don't know why people are complaining about quantity, if you go anywhere in the foodhallen the portions are small and the food is expensive so ... My meal was so tasteful and the rice was cooked very well. From all the foods i have tried there this was the best cost benefit of them all.

Tastless, watery and badly cooked. Never eten less Indian-like Indian food. Shame on you.

AVOID THIS PLACE…. Not sure what happened here, it used to be good and flavourful. Now you get treated with service like you are burden to them. Naan wrap was just curry and a simple salad like you would get with a snack bar kebab. No sauce added or offered. The filling of veggie curry was just loaded with turmeric which wasn’t even cooked out so just tasted like raw turmeric. Couldn’t even make it halfway through and had to throw it in the trash.

After walking a lottt and asking a lottt of people, we reached food hallen. Our son was longing for Indian food and that’s when we spotted Shirshah amongst the other oulets. We ordered butter chicken and rice. Though it didn’t taste like what we would get in India, it was a welcome relief for my son. Mr. Farhan was so kind that he even offered to give us a small quantity for just our son. God bless him. The 2 stars are just for him.

I had no expectations and the food was tasty. However the stuff touched my food with bare hands while preparing it ,which is unhygienic. Also they misheard our order and they gave us something different from what we wanted (chickpea wrap instead of chickpea croquettes- side dish)

A waste of money and calories. The chicken tikka wrap was mediocre at best. Years ago the wrap was deliciously seasoned and spicy. This looks more like a weak attempt by a Dutch grandmother in the 1950s when the herbs and recipes were not yet available in the Netherlands but she tried to imitate the experience from India. In this day and age there is no excuse to serve such a poor copy of a tikka wrap. And not to mention the naan that was half raw even though there is a tandoor in the kitchen. Blegh

Food hallen atmosphere is fantastic and the food selection is fantastic. Loads of different places to choose from to suit every taste. The Butter chicken at Shirkhan was a great example

Came here just after closing time since I’d knocked off work very late. Even though they were closed the server offered me a butter chicken dish it seemed like he was saving for himselt. Cannot overexpress my gratitude, and the dish itself was absolutely delicious. Another time I’ve had their chicken tikka wrap which I can also highly recommend. Please check them out if you’re ever around ❤️

I ate a chickpeas baji wrap, and it was something i’ve never had - like a croquete made of chickpeas (not a falafel). However, overall I’ve had a good experience and you should try it if you have no other idea of what to order.

I came with low expectations and was not surprised. After all, this stall is basically beside a sushi stall and across from a hipster viet place. Got the butter chicken with rice and salad combo. The portion size was reasonable given the price paid. Food came lukewarm. From the perspective of eating chicken and rice with some red tomato based sauce, it was fair. But if you’re looking for actual Indian food with actual butter chicken—prepare to be disappointed.

Yes this is the Netherlands but seriously the most flavourless lamb tikka ever!! this could have passed for a greek lamb wrap with the lack of flavouring. No salt, no flavour, no spice, no chilli at all! The meat was super chewy too and not tenderised in any way!

My chicken tikka wrap tasted nice..chicken pieces were nice and mixed with onion in the naan style wrap was enjoyable. I could easily have had another!

Curry was okay, not very flavorful. Filling enough for a small child, but not for an adult.
