I ordered at 8 pm, food didn't come so I called restaurant (9:10 pm), they said it was on the way - lie. Then a call from a private person came, saying it was delivered 7 minutes ago at the reception. Again - lie. I checked everywhere + he could not get pass me at the reception because I was closely watching all the time. After I convinced him it wasn't delivered, he said he will prepare it and it will come in 15 minutes. It was only delivered at 21:53 after calls (with the person from restaurant) about where I am. Because the delivery guy just sat on the motorcycle and waited, he didn't try to come in or call. So the guy at the phone was in the middle handling the delivery guy and me... Also, after 2 hours of waiting, the order was wrong. Rice was included in the price but never delivered. Very bad experience, never ordering again.

Ordered food yesterday. It was really impossible to eat. Naan bread was old and all containers were open. I ordered via their own site, it really doesn't make sense, it just takes longer and the quality has deteriorated considerably. Too bad, but this was really not edible.

They say it will be delivered quickly, but I had to wait almost 2.5 hours for my order! In the end, the food wasn't really worth it either. The flavors were mediocre, certainly not what I expected from a Tandoori Express. Moreover, the portions were small for the price you pay. The price-quality ratio really makes no sense. I won't be ordering from here again anytime soon.

Food from Tandoori Express took a very long time and arrived lukewarm. Bami looked more like spaghetti and the meat was sometimes tough. Taste was okay, but not wow. Not really worth repeating

The best Indian food in Amsterdam, and in my opinion best in the Netherlands. I have been ordering from them for a few years now and have never been let down by the food or the quality. The portions are generous enough to often serve as two meals. My son loves their butter chicken, while I prefer spicier dishes like lamb saag or dal makhani. I give them a 5 out of 5!

Your food will never arrive, and if u call the employees are really difficult to understand. We waited for 2,5 hours although we were told 45 min, and the food wasnt good either.

What it was hasn't been like that for a while. Just ordered for 75 euros. Half containers full. The third time you wait 2 and a half hours for your food. No, that's a shame. Service, etc. has gotten worse. Very unfortunate. It really wasn't. Roti beateld contains 3 pieces of chicken in the rest potato rock hard. It might also be useful if you have 4 different types of nan to write down what is what. The cheese nan, I wonder where the cheese is, such a shame. Once again, not nearly as it used to be

Took more than 1.5h while 30-45min was communicated. Was promised refund 50%, which was never received. Food was terrible. Union Bhaji was completely soft, and the chicken Tikka tandoori was less than 100g and the trick was added patato, cut like the chicken. Total scam this place!

Been a regular customer for years. And when I say regular, I mean regular. I was happy to let go of the fact that they had the nerve to call me a day after ordering to request a review. But then recently came the day they gave me a little packed cake I ordered which was already totally squashed and broken apart when they put it in with the other items. I sent them a complaint through their own web form. Never heard back. And that's how they treat someone who has been ordering from them at least twice a month for years. Either make it up to me, Tandoori Express - and I mean BIG TIME - or never again. Beware of fake reviews: if it says the restaurant is nice, or the atmosphere is good, you know it's written by someone affiliated with this place. There is no restaurant, it's a place you order from. In theory you can walk in and order takeaway, but we did that once and they clearly do not like actual live customers in their place. That's fine, but any reviewer claiming this is a lovely restaurant is lying.

It is always a delightful experience with Tandoori express. The butter chicken is the best I’ve had in a long time, and their mango lassi is incredibly refreshing. The staff is friendly and attentive, making great recommendations for first-timers. The restaurant’s ambiance is also the perfect mood. The prices are also reasonable compared to other restaurants. The portion sizes and flavours are exceptional. It is highly recommended to everyone.

If I could give less 1 star then I would. I ordered at 9:30pm and it is now 12:50am and still no food. I ordered on Uber eats and entered the hotel name I was staying in but the hotel had a different building name. I was visiting Amsterdam and Uber eats somehow didn’t let me track the order, the option wasn’t available to me. I called 4times the restaurant and the receptionist was beyond beyond rudeeee, don’t know anything about customer service. We called around 10:40pm, she said it was getting delivered 6-8 minutes, we called at 11:40pm then she said that another 40mins and now we called at 12:10am, she said the food is out and no show nothing. What a joke!!!! Absolutely unacceptable. Don’t waste a penny, save your money! These guys are the absolute worst…I can’t believe this. 4hrs and still no food.

2 hours waiting for food and several phone calls about false promises about delivery time. Terrible! And no food delivered! After my review, the owner called to say he couldn't find his way. Now 2.5 hours later. I indicate that I no longer want anything to do with the company. Is he offering to give me half my money back! I said I want my entire money back.

Ordered chicken tika masala. Once home, 3 pieces of chicken with a container full of onions. This looks nothing like chicken tika masala. Last time at trandoori express. Last year it was hard to eat!

Very little biryani for 19 euros. In a 500 cl container. At other restaurants you get doubles for 19 euros. Maybe because of Uber's 1+1 promotion? So instead of large bowl, small bowl and thus compensate for the action? If you don't want to do it, you shouldn't offer it instead of misleading people

This has been my favorite place to order for a very long time. Butter chicken is the best I’ve ever had and they often have deals online when you order. Today my order arrived later than usual and I couldn’t be happier with how they handled it. They were sweet and polite and provided a solution for it. The driver was also sweet, with a smile and for the inconvenience. Best costumer service ever experienced when ordering food. The portions you get when you order online are also great! I can eat 3/4 times out of 1 order. This is and will always be my favorite place to order!!!!

I really wanted to enjoy some nice Indian food.. so we decided to order from Tandoori Express.. they should be ashamed to call their food Indian..the worst of all is the butter chicken.. it’s sweet and looks like baby poop.. I’m so sorry to say this but I had to ..the naan are no better.. the chicken tikka looks like it’s made of only paprika .. the biryani was ok..the plain rice too is ok.. the food was so horrible that we didn’t bother to open the sauces Please TE .. upgrade your standard to some good quality food.. even if I didn’t write this review… ppl that knows Indian food will.. not forgetting the Uber driver that took more time than was estimated.. we had to call 3 times .. please get a real Indian chef … and good service.. we ate Indian food in Paris and Belgium… way better than this ..

Worst Indian restaurant in the whole of the Netherlands. Save yourself the trouble and don't eat here. Other reviews tell you the same thing. You have plenty of choice at other restaurants. You order per person for €20 and you get a portion of €5. If you speak to the manager to solve this problem, he will have a big mouth against you

Took 20 minutes to make 2 cups of chai and did not service it in a closed take away container. Chai was also not the best.

Been waiting for my food for 2 hours now.

Really good vegetarian Indian and Surinamese food! We loved the noodles, satay sauce and roti roll in particular. The kitchen is open late (as opposed to most other Amsterdam take-out restaurants) which is perfect for us late night snackers. We will definitely be ordering here again. Very important: the quality (of the butterchicken) really needs to be improved. Make sure you prepare a traditional dish as it should be: spicy, tender fillet and that it is naan bread, naa bread and does not resemble Turkish bread. You can do better- come on!

Review 2022 I often order from Tandoori Express. Let me start with the staff. Super friendly. Always helpful and they take your order immediately. If we talk about the food, they are the best in the Netherlands in terms of price/quality ratio. The taste buds are open as if you were eating with your grandmother in Pakistan. I'm really talking about homemade food. A big 10. I say this because I have eaten almost all the dishes there as a taxi driver! Chicken Khorma, Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka, Lamb - a dish with spinach with herbs. Don't know the name. Keep it up. All delicious. I think it's special how they can supply the whole of Amsterdam with the curry during rush hour (between 5:30 PM and 8:15 PM). It's more of a take away point with just very few places to dine in, however the food , vegetable biryani was up to the mark and great to the taste buds

If you value your stomach, my advice, never order from here. The butter chicken from this restaurant is my biggest disappointment in this life. The sauce was so horrible, you can even smell how unfresh it is and they put so much spices to hide it. The colour of food looks like children's "surprise". Only few pieces of chicken there and even that tasted awful. The only thing they didn't cook horrible is rice. Me and my family had DIARRHEA for whole night after eating butter chicken from this "Indian" restaurant. My advice is, if you don't want to spend night on toilet, never order food from here!!!!

I have ordered here at least 10 times now (via Thuisbezorgd) and it is always delicious. The food arrives at home neatly packaged and quickly every time. The saag paneer and butter chicken are my favorite dishes. And good price-quality ratio. All in all highly recommended!

Ordered online and took almost 2 hours ! Ice cream melted and food gone cold. Samosas then horrible as can’t be reheated. But 2.65 for podadoms and they were so bad and only like one. Charges 15 cent for packaging and on everything and was only paper ! What a waste of my money honestly !

Tandoori express is a blessing for Amsterdam! The food is delicious and delivered nice and hot and on time. The food is prepared in a traditional way and you can certainly taste it through the spices. You can eat delicious food at this place for a very good price, I eat there every week.

Petit fast food qui ne paye pas de mine. Agréablement surprise, nous avions pris un biryani poulet, viande d'agneau, fish masala, naan aux pommes de terre un délice et leur glace "kulfi" était juste excellente. Tout ces plats ont été préparé sur commande donc rien à dire sur la fraîcheur. Possibilité de manger sur place ou de commander en ligne. A essayer les yeux fermés !!!

I thought I wouldn't have any Indian food for my one month vacation in the Netherlands and Belgium. But one fine day, I just wanted to get back to my staple diet. One of my friends who has been living in Amsterdam for over a decade recommended this place and damn it was a delight. I was skeptical about trying Indian food in NL but I wasn't disappointed. As requested, the food was spicy enough, the chicken was juicy and tender and I had a great time.

We are punjabis travelling from toronto and so sick of bland food and came here and found ourselves so delighted with the flavours of home. They make the naan and dishes fresh, but also have ready made to go items available. So happy we found this place - it deserves a higher rating! We got the karahi chicken and it was nice and SPICY ❤️🙏🏼!

Ik bestel heel vaak bij Tandoori Express het eten is heel lekker, maar vandaag heb ik een slechte ervaring mee gemaakt. Ik had bestelt om 19:30 en er stond dat het tussen 20:05 en 20:25 zou komen het is inmiddels 20:44. Dus ik belde het restaurant waar het eten bleef, ik vroeg heel netjes hoe lang het nog duurde voordat het eten er zou zijn. Hij antwoordde daarop met dat de bezorger onderweg is. Ik vroeg hem daarna hoe lang het ongeveer zou duren en de man legde gewoon de Hoorn op. echt geen manier om met je klanten om te gaan. Heel disrespectvol.

After ordering a delivery it took longer than expected to get the food. Not necessarily a problem but when I called to ask about the order they didn't even answer, just said it's coming and disconnected the line. What a way to interact with your customers...

Tikka Masala was pretty good, my order was somewhat delayed though so I had to call - the lady who answered the phone was helpful. Would really appreciate if the restaurant stopped using plastic delivery boxes and used aluminium instead. Thank you.

I ordered first time from Tandoori Express, I was not sure based on some of the reviews but I was like let's give it a try. Ordered Chicken Biryani and Chicken Chilly Curry. I must say the food was 10/10. I felt like I am in Pakistan, simply Delicious. It was hot and up to the taste. I requested some chillies and lemon which was also sent within separate box. Thank you so much for that. I know today is Sunday that is why delivery was late. But the food covered that part so no complaints. Only one suggestion is to update your number so incase if we need any help or inquiry about order or to update order, that will definitely help. I would highly suggest Tandoori Express. But be patient with the delivery and order atleast 1.5 hours ahead of your scheduled meal time. ❤️🇵🇰

Pedimos la primera vez desde este restaurante y nos sorprendió el sabor. La comida llegó caliente y fresca, solo en 20 minutos. No esperaba mucho para ser honesto, pero Biryani Karahi Chilli Chicken todos eran deliciosos. También se incluyeron ensaladas bien empacadas y Raita para nosotros. Will Defo Pruébalos cuando vuelvas a Amsterdam.
