Absolutely shocking experience it was our first time eating here so we had no clue originally about prices or food. When we sat down we got asked if we wanted to do the all inclusive or individual plates, we decided on the individual plates we also had to order on our app which told us that the total bill was €8.99 which I thought was very cheep I then ask a waitress if this was correct and she agreed which I thought was a bargain for 4 plates of sushi! Turns out it was €88.50!! Not worth €10.00 in my opinion I never write bad reviews but this was awful and would NOT recommend to anyone

I made a reservation and went to dinner with my daughter because she loves sushi. It was my first time here. My daughter was looking forward to it, so I chose the all-you-can-eat option, and my daughter ate for free. This applies to children up to 4 years old, which is definitely more economical for families! The food itself was fine, and my daughter certainly enjoyed it! My battery was dead, and you can rent a power bank for €1.50 per half hour, if I'm not mistaken. Very convenient! It's right in the city center on Rembrandtplein, so I wouldn't recommend going by car! Otherwise, it was okay!

The restaurant looks promising and the staff is friendly. You do need to be able to speak English, but that's fine for us. Unfortunately, the food is very disappointing. The sushi is okay, not great and the meat is all overcooked. Everything is solved with a lot of spicy sauce or salt, to cover up the taste and dryness. The desserts were fine.

We sat in the back of the store, found it a bit dark there. Further ordering via a qr which works well.

It's big, spacious and fancy without having to dress up like you're going to the opera. Plus, there's always a live DJ to liven up the atmosphere. Eating sushi here almost becomes a party where you can also dance... well, with your chopsticks. The best part? You can order every 10 minutes, and multiple times. So when you just think: "Oh I'm full," something delicious comes along to tempt you. Seriously, sushi paranoia: am I full or can I have another roll? It's a struggle. The desserts are a different story, ice cream balls in different flavors like green tea and mango. Really one of those moments where you think: "How can something be so light but still so tasty?" If you are a sushi lover, this is a must-try. In short: a place where you eat well, have good beats, and are always tempted to order more. I come here often, and every time it feels like a little sushi vacation. Until the next bite of Tafels & Tories 🤙

Nice restaurant, looks very nice! The sushi was really super tasty and the fried dishes too. The meat was quite fatty. The only real downside I found was that you have to order on the phone instead of a card or tablet. For the rest definitely nice to go and eat once!

Shiso Asian Fusion is our favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. It is conveniently located close to the city center and is easily accessible, both on foot and by tram. The food was fantastic – really delicious. If we could, we would definitely give it 10 stars. The atmosphere was cozy and lively. The music was a bit loud; not a problem for us, but it might be a bit too much for some. The service was friendly and the food was served quickly. The chicken salad in particular was an absolute hit: incredibly tender and full of flavor. We will definitely come back here often!

We hadden ons verheugd om weer bij Shiso te eten. Mooie inrichting, lekkere sushi, cocktails en op vrijdagavond muziek. Bediening was erg stil, eten duurde iets langer dan we gewend zijn. Wel een hele leuke avond gehad!

“All you can eat” good variety and quality. You get 4 plates per person per round, they come relatively good with timing and menu variety did not disappoint, wide rage other than the sushi included. Dessert options included; ice cream was nice. Drinks not included in “all you can eat”. Place is busy so sometimes the experience can be ruined by that, make sure you have a reservation and try to pick the less busy times.

It is a beautiful and spacious restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere, complemented by a live DJ. The food, however, was somewhat disappointing. Many of the meat dishes arrived cold and overcooked, while the sushi fish was fresh. The service was decent, though not exceptional.

Bad service. Staff incredibly disinterested and unprofessional at work. When we were still eating 45 minutes before closing time, we were already looked away by staff and plates were already being cleared. Long wait for our food with half of each round not coming. Dirty toilets. The food itself is also very tasty.

I sit there for 20 mins and no waiter comes to even ask what I am doing here or what I want to eat. The restaurant was almost empty. Unfortunately I had to leave as nobody comes to serve or even ask. A few workers only but they still can manage to visit my table to check what I need. Anyway, I do not recommend it.

Negative aspects: * Ordering system: There were problems with the online ordering system. When ordering with four people on different phones, items were missing. A tip is to order with one phone. * Gluten-free filter: The filter option for gluten-free dishes in the app was counterproductive. Instead of just showing the eligible options, all eligible options were hidden, making it unclear what could be ordered. * Atmosphere: The atmosphere in the restaurant was impersonal. * Value for money: The price of 45 euros per person for unlimited sushi is expensive, partly because many items have to be paid extra. * Hygiene: The toilets were filthy. One of the waiters came out of an unsanitary toilet, where the seat was covered in urine. * Service: The service was impersonal. Suggestions: * Optimization of the online ordering system, so that ordering with multiple devices runs smoothly. *Improved the gluten-free filter in the app to clearly indicate which options are available. * Attention to creating a more pleasant and personal atmosphere in the restaurant. * Reconsidering the pricing structure and additional costs for certain items in relation to the experience offered. * Urgent improvement of hygiene, especially in sanitary facilities. * Improvement of the general service.

Good food, but shady and unprofessional service. The sushi was tasty and reasonably priced, but the service was really disappointing. We asked to take our leftovers and were told it would cost €5 for the takeaway box — which seemed excessive, but we agreed. When we paid by card, the €5 was added to the total, but it was not listed anywhere on the printed receipt. No breakdown, no mention of the box — just a higher total. It felt dishonest, like they were trying to sneak it in without transparency. Watch out and check your bill carefully. The food was decent, but I wouldn’t come back because of how unprofessional the whole thing felt.

I've been to Shiso many times, the quality is top notch. Plates coming and going very quickly. The all you can eat is more than worth it, because of the amazing variety.

This place was recommended by the hotel we were staying at. When we walked in for lunch, there was no one at the front, and it looked abandoned. We walked in further and finally saw someone at the bar. He guided us to a waiter who took us to a table. The waiter informed us that it was an all-you-can-eat concept; however, if we wanted to order individual dishes, we could. He then firmly suggested that we consider the 40 Euro per person all-you-can-eat option. The party was two kids under 12 and 2 adults, so the AYCE option was not the right option for us. The food visually looked nice, but there was no flavor. The total of the bill was 55 euros for 2 adults and 2 kids (tremendously cheaper than AYCE options, which would have been over 100 euros). The staff were youngsters who weren't very attentive. At the very end, we requested the waiter to bring a to-go container and bag, and he brought a bag with a chewed-up corner, which indicated that wherever they store bags, there is probably a rodent.

Very disappointing! Every grill dish I ordered was tough and cooled down (cold). Squid rings were cold and tough. My wife found a long piece of hair in her fish dish. It took a very long time when empty bowls etc were cleared from the table. In short it was just not okay. First and immediately the last time.

Prime location and beautiful interior. There was a DJ playing so you had the feeling of a club and restaurant in one. The food was tasty and there was a wide range to order from. These were all positive points. The service was also very mediocre. You have a time slot of 2 hours. It took an awfully long time for the food to be brought to the table. At a certain point we decided to order rounds in advance so that we wouldn't have to wait as long. This didn't help much. Plates were collected very slowly or not at all. At one point we even had to stack our plates to create space for our food. We could even see the full tables of other customers who were long gone. Passing staff walked past the table and often did not take anything back to the dishwashing area. There are all young people and probably school children who have no passion for hosting and food at all. Many looked unmotivated and uninterested. Very unfortunate because with such a location and ambiance in terms of decor and music, I expected more.

Had dinner on Saturday evening at 7:00 pm, it was busy but delicious food, great service and a pleasant environment, the cocktails are also delicious!

I used to come here more often because of the tasty food, but the place is disappointing these days. During the weekend the service is slow, during my last visit orders were brought every round that we had not ordered and our desserts were served earlier than our last round of food. I thought this place was less popular anyway because of the DJ they have there (the music is too loud for my taste, sometimes I couldn't even hear my company). Would recommend only going here during the week at quieter times because the food is tasty, the employees are nice and the ambiance is nice.

Unfair Payment Practices & Possible Discrimination at Shiso Asian Restaurant I worked at Shiso Asian Restaurant through Flex Connect, and my experience with their payment process has been frustrating. Payments are consistently delayed, making it difficult to manage personal expenses. What’s worse, I noticed that some employees are always paid on time, while others (myself included) are left waiting without any clear explanation. Despite reaching out to both management and Flex Connect, responses are either dismissive or vague. It raises serious concerns about favoritism and possible discrimination, as certain employees—often those who seem to have closer ties with management—never face these issues. A professional workplace should ensure all employees are paid fairly and on time, without bias. Until they fix this issue, I would not recommend working at Shiso Asian Restaurant through Flex Connect, especially if financial stability is important to you.

It was delicious and our taste buds loved the beautifully cooked sushi! However, the welcome was not very warm and the service was more reminiscent of a factory than a restaurant. Once the customer is served, it’s straight back to the kitchen as quickly as possible… too bad!

What a disappointing restaurant. The meat is dry and tough, with little flavor or way too much pepper. The quality of the food is mediocre, and nothing stands out. The tables remain full of dirty plates for a long time, which are not collected until late - and then also with washing up sinks, which look untidy and unhygienic. The dessert offering is limited: you can choose from ice cream or crème brûlée, unless you are willing to pay extra. The toilets are downright dirty. In addition, the music is so loud that you can hardly talk to each other. If you're looking for a club instead of a restaurant, you've come to the right place. I have to give that one star, but actually the restaurant doesn't even deserve it. In short: BAD.
