Most of the food was really good, The warm foods could use a bit more flavour. Overall pretty good.

I love shiso the best sushi restaurant in Amsterdam specially the stuff they are very friendly and accommodating and the food is so so good that my son loves to eat here every week….thank you Salfe for the best service as always ❤️🙏

The food was good, no complaints about the quality—fresh fish and well-presented. However, the organization really leaves much to be desired. I find it absurd to have to wait 10 minutes between orders. I understand the rationale of avoiding waste, but the system is truly frustrating. In my case, since I have a shellfish allergy, the waitress (very kind and helpful, it must be said) explained to us that we could order separately using two different QR codes. Too bad that, as soon as I ordered, my boyfriend couldn't do so because the system flagged it as if the order had already been placed. So basically, I had to watch him eat and vice versa...not very nice, I'd say. We asked another waitress for an explanation, but not only did she not understand the problem, she also rather impertinently insisted that we were the ones who didn't understand. The result: endless wait times, minimal portions (maximum 4 pieces at a time), and an overall truly unnerving experience. Leaving aside the fact that they presented us with the bill (almost as if to chase us away) while we were eating, and I find it absurd to have to take out money while I still had my fork in my hand... the icing on the cake, when it came to the bill... surprise! The "all you can eat" formula isn't actually "all you can eat" at all, because many things are paid for separately. Final total? €120 for two. Honestly, as good as the sushi was, it's absolutely not worth it.

We had a reservation for Sunday evening, but unfortunately, we were again given a table next to the kitchen and restrooms. Right in front of us were dirty, empty containers where the staff kept the used plates and cutlery. The restroom door was right next to us. This created a very unhygienic and unpleasant atmosphere. This was the second time we'd been to your restaurant, and both times we were assigned the exact same table. When we requested a different table, the staff politely asked the manager, but he said it wasn't possible, even though the restaurant was practically empty all evening. The food was also disappointing. We ordered lamb chops and tenderloin, among other things, but they were served red and bloody. This was an added disappointment to the uncomfortable seating. All in all, we were very disappointed. Due to both the location of our table and the quality of the food, we weren't able to enjoy our dinner. Sadly, this was our last time here.

I was there on a Saturday night, but I didn't find the music atmospheric. I heard a constant thumping bass. But maybe the younger crowd loved it.

The sushi was fine, but some items we ordered weren't delivered, but they weren't immediately noticeable. The service was very slow, though; we waited a full 45 minutes for drinks... we complained several times, and it wasn't until the fourth employee we approached that we addressed it. Otherwise, the restaurant is nicely decorated!

Place is clean and aesthetically pleasing. Food is delicious! Would specifically recommend the chicken wings!

I've been going to Shiso for years. We own a restaurant. We thought we'd have a nice meal because we're regulars, but now I got seriously ill with my daughter and parents, and they got food poisoning! We already complained. Everything was inedible, but we got seriously ill, and the manager was making fun of us. People, don't eat there.

Sushi is an absolute must! The sushi is the best in the region. Everything we ordered was fresh and full of flavor. We will definitely be back! You've got a new regular!

It's fine for a full meal, but it's nothing particularly special. The atmosphere isn't very welcoming either, as it feels like being in a warehouse. I also find it a bit pricey.

We came with a group of 13 friends for dinner and had a generally good experience. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially Liza from Ukraine, who was incredibly kind to us. The food was tasty, though portions were small — luckily you can order another 4 dishes per person every 10 minutes, which makes up for it. Desserts, however, are limited to 2 per person, which was a bit disappointing for me as I love ice cream. Drinks are also not included in the price, which feels a little unfair for a 2-hour unlimited dinner. I appreciated that the menu had a variety of options, not just sushi — the beef rib eye was delicious. The main downside was the atmosphere: the restaurant was so dark that it was hard to see our food, and after two hours I even got a headache. Overall, I enjoyed the evening and would come back, but only during the day when there’s natural light.

They don't care about you. The sushi quality was standard as expected BUT only if it came, almost every round we ordered we were missing multiple pieces so we ended up spending most of the time checking every order if everyone got what they ordered, we asked the waitresses but they gave empty promises and the food didn't arrive. We even missed a whole round of 20 pieces (in the pictures), we waited 50min to no avail. We ran out of ordering time and the waitress said sorry we are busy, and proceeded to give us the check for 160 euros. If you like gambling, then go ahead and order maybe you will get your food. If you want a good experience find somewhere else.

It's an all-you-can-eat restaurant with à la carte options. The explanation of the process was difficult to understand (due to poor Dutch and the sound). The staff showed zero interest in the guests. They just chatted into their earphones, but barely managed a proper "good evening." The sushi was decent, but not particularly delicious. One positive was that the nigiri didn't have too much rice (which you often find at all-you-can-eat restaurants). The first round took about 20 minutes before anything arrived. The price-quality ratio is not right.

The food was Okay.. but nothing special. The service was the worst, every time I asked a waiter something she replied that she didn't know.. we order Gyozas and they never arrived to the table, and when we asked the waiters about it they said those wee from other "department" so she couldn't help me... A simply exceptional buffet! All the dishes are incredible, far better than any other buffet I've ever tried. The portions are perfectly sized so you can enjoy everything without feeling deprived. Special mention goes to the meats, tender and flavorful, as well as the sushi, which is remarkably fresh and high-quality. A place not to be missed. The only downside: the atmosphere is a bit noisy, with many tables close together and little space between them. But the food is flawless; I highly recommend it!

The food was great, I asked for a cocktail without egg white, the host tried her best but bar man was rude towards her. She went to manager to get some assistance and (within earshot) he was also rude to her and refused to assist her. While I was disappointed I couldn’t no longer get a drink, I was mostly disappointed with the way the manager was so dismissive of her.

Had a delicious lunch with plenty of choices. Friendly staff and a very nice restaurant. The chicken is halal, and we were allowed to pray upstairs. Definitely recommended!

I was here on Thursday, August 14, 2025. The food itself was fine, though nothing special and a bit pricey compared to other restaurants with a similar concept. It's a shame you have to pay extra for a lot of dishes even if you opt for the all-you-can-eat option. The floor looked like an ice rink, and I had to be very careful walking to the bathroom. After 10 minutes, we saw a huge rat crawling across the restaurant floor. I definitely won't be back.

Excellent all-you-can-eat Asian food! For €30, you can have seconds of whatever you want on the menu for 2 hours! Each dish is excellent and prepared only if ordered (unlike other all-you-can-eat restaurants where everything is prepared in a factory setting and not always very fresh...). Always surprised to see that it's never full even though it's a real gem and not so expensive compared to the prices in Amsterdam in general. I highly recommend it!

The food was fine, but the way you had to place your order using a QR code on your phone was a pain. And I think the slightly older generation won't understand it at all. It takes a lot of time, and before you know it, the two hours are over, and all for €42. Because of that, we missed a few dishes and didn't get what we ordered. So, it all went wrong there. Once, but never again.

Seven of us went to Shiso for an all-you-can-eat meal and had a really great evening. There's a huge selection, everything freshly prepared and delicious. A few special dishes cost extra, but overall, the value is good. The cocktails are also really delicious and beautifully presented – perfect to round off the evening. The food arrived super quickly, and the little robot that picks up the dishes is a real highlight and a lot of fun. The atmosphere is modern and relaxed – ideal for larger groups, but also for a nice dinner for two. All in all, I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to enjoy good sushi in a modern setting in Amsterdam!

We had a terrible experience at this place. We were taken in by the all-inclusive format. But it turned out that you have to pay extra for a lot of things. The choice of dishes in the all-inclusive format is very poor. Drinks are not included. They didn’t even serve us ginger and wasabi, because they said they didn’t have time to prepare it. 😳 There was also an unpleasant smell from the toilet at our table, we had to change seats. The dishes took a long time to prepare. We have experience with a similar restaurant format, but this is the worst of all that we have tried. We left feeling heavy, as if we had eaten bricks.

We visited this restaurant and, unfortunately, left very disappointed. The food was truly awful: the sushi was served with mayonnaise (!), which is completely unsuitable for this type of dish—it tasted strange and heavy. The service was also subpar: slow, disinterested, and no one asked if everything was to our liking. The whole atmosphere was unpleasant. Considering the quality of the food and the service, absolutely not recommended. We will definitely never return.

Ate today. Bad sushi and food from every all-you-can-eat restaurant in Amsterdam.
