It was a really nice place with “all you can eat” option. The choice in the menu is quite wide, there are many dishes besides sushi. The service is fast and polite. The food was delicious and it’s a very pleasant atmosphere inside. We had a good experience there and we will be back soon!

Very well-kept restaurant with a minimalist image, it doesn't look like a buffet. The food is very good and you digest the rice well. The only downside is that there were 5 of us, you can only order 20 dishes every 20' and the dishes come in 4 units (californias, makis) and that makes it very slow. 200ml drinks (coca cola...) at 4 euros

It took already 15 minutes before we were led to the table.. what can happen is a holiday! then the drink is brought and plopped on the table, nothing is said what is what and the question is asked what for whom..? super aso! food takes an extremely long time, things from the first round only got after 32 minutes and the table was not cleared... you wait so long for sushi that has no taste whatsoever... not even a candle was lit and we felt like we were on the forgotten table in the corner sat at the cold entrance... no more shiho for us, and certainly not for that money! update: after waiting an hour and a half for things from the first round, we asked for a manager... he waited another 15 minutes and offered to turn a 2 hour session into 3 hours + 1x free drink and he walked away without us being able to comment on it... then we asked for the bill and complained a bit against our principle, because all 4 of us also work in the catering industry and know how annoying that is! but 2 packages compensation is what we got for 1.5 hours of food and not even 2 complete rounds! not recommended -manager also had his own staff solve problems because he himself?? avoids his problems lol Complaints email sent, no response?? Well then just call and ask how or what is hung up like that, pfoe! what a service here.. ball tent 2 weeks later: after calling 4 times and each time they say “we will call back” or “yes we will respond to your email as soon as possible” we called again and the solution we received; 1x free package? We just wanted our money back and never go here again... solution not accepted because you won't see us again, unfortunately!

On January 4, 2025, I had dinner at Shiso Asian Fusion and it was an absolute disaster! We had to wait forever before we could get a table, and the food was lukewarm. The service was downright bad; the staff were clumsy and didn't seem to know what they were doing, even causing food to fall over us. The restaurant was unsanitary, with filthy toilets that were out of order and a messy appearance everywhere. And then the food itself: not tasty at all and the sushi was a real shame. This restaurant is absolutely not recommended! Save yourself the trouble and eat somewhere else.

I am really not satisfied at all with my experience in this restaurant! The toilets were downright gross, and we had to wait way too long before we could get to our table. When we were finally seated, the rib egg we ordered was simply charred and burnt! And seriously, there was soup on the windowsill – that's really not normal! All toilets were defective and the table was also sticky. The staff barely spoke to us which only made it worse. This is absolutely unacceptable and I hope they do something about these issues soon so that other guests don't have to have the same terrible experience!

The concept is a bit special but that's okay. We took the unlimited formula. We choose every 10 minutes several sushi / sashami / California / skewers / soup specialties in a maximum time of 2 hours. The dishes don’t necessarily arrive at the same time but they are good.

What a ball, you think you can eat well for 1.5 hours. You will be served 8 dishes out of the 24 you ordered. And if you say something about it, yes, you will receive a coupon of 10 euros on a bill of 110 euros. The seat we got was really nice, nice in the draft when it is 1 degree outside. It looked cozy upstairs, the music was on, etc. We tucked away in the hallway where you enter. Never again for me.

Looks great on pictures but when you seat you realise it is a trap. Everything is dirty, menu, table and floor are gluing. Toilets are closed for men only some are open but often already use by staff. Waiter put plat on table and do not reply to any question. Plats arrive in any order. I am sorry to right this but management need to be aware of actual status of restaurant. I cannot judge food as environment was so bad but food did not change our experience.

I am extremely disappointed in my visit to Shiso Sushi in Amsterdam. During my meal I found large hairs in my ice cream, which is absolutely unacceptable. This not only ruined my appetite, but my entire experience. I made a video of this to prove how unsanitary it is. When I reported this, little action was taken. It seems that hygiene is not a priority here. I strongly advise against this place.

I used to always recommend the restaurant Shiso to our guests, as I work in the largest hotel in the Benelux. However, after my recent visit, I have completely changed my opinion. The concept of unlimited ordering within two hours sounds appealing, but the execution was very disappointing. We waited an hour for our first dish, and many of the orders we placed never even arrived. To make things worse, the restaurant didn’t offer any replacements or solutions—they just said ‘sorry,’ and that was it. No effort to improve or compensate was made, which is absolutely unacceptable. I will now be looking for more reliable alternatives to recommend to our guests, and I won’t be coming back here again.

I would absolutely not recommend this sushi restaurant! Upon arrival it was noticeable that the seats were not clean, and although we raised this with the staff, nothing was done about it. The toilets were in a terrible condition which was not only unsanitary but also ruined the whole feel of the restaurant. The service was particularly poor: the staff was not professional and did not seem organized at all. There was no visible leadership, which caused chaos and a lack of overview. In short, this restaurant is not worth the money. There are plenty of better and cleaner alternatives in the area. Definitely not worth repeating!

Shiso in Amsterdam is a nice place for cocktails and sushi. The cocktails, such as the Pina Colada, are really delicious – well mixed and with lots of flavor. It is definitely recommended if you like cocktails. As for the food, some dishes I didn't really like, but the handrolls were really great. They are fresh and well filled, so I would definitely recommend them. The staff wasn't really bad, but it wasn't great either. The service was okay, but it could have been a bit faster and friendlier. All in all, Shiso is a nice place for a drink and some good handrolls, but there is room for improvement when it comes to the service and some dishes.

However, if your plan is to take full advantage of the “all-you-can-eat” concept and eat as much as possible, you might end up disappointed. The main issue is the slow service. Although you have a 2-hour time limit, it’s challenging to make the most of it because the food arrives very slowly. For instance, if you order five items at once, one might arrive after 5 minutes, and then the others trickle in every 5-10 minutes afterward. This really eats into your time, and by the end of our session, I still wasn’t full. The flavors are good, but the time restriction combined with the slow pace makes the experience less enjoyable. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be visiting again.

Somewhere in a corporate boardroom, an executive realized he or she could reduce employee headcount and save some money by forcing patrons to order everything on their phones with virtually no human contact. That executive does not eat in restaurants. Want to interact with your waiter or ask a question about an item? Too bad. Ask your phone (maybe Siri knows!!) Welcome to Brave New World, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, or as the above-mentioned executive calls it “SHISO” – where you get to manage your entire meal via QR code. Finally a way to spend more time on your phone! There are no waiters – just miserable food shuffling zombies who mindlessly accept your phone’s instruction and plop the results on your table. SHISO has sucked every ounce of dignity and individuality from the food shuffler zombies. One zombie, whose eyes were as empty as SHISO’s soul, twice attempted to remove plates as diners were eating from them (unlike most horror films, in “SHISO,” one feels tremendous pity for the miserable zombie horde of seemingly over-medicated hollow husks as they lurk around the restaurant). SHISO has all the charm of a methadone clinic. A knock-off 1950’s Sci-Fi robot roamed about collecting dirty glasses. The vapid food shufflers gazed upon the robot with as much hatred as their soulless bodies could muster, envious that the robot could not feel the misery of working there. Oh, and the food was prepared with masterful efficiency, each ingredient no doubt sourced from its cheapest supply avenue. Boiled white rice was disguised as “fried rice,” as if the efficiency model would not permit the time needed to fry it.

Horrible experience, at first glance it may seem like an elegant place. But it's not, run away! First I enter and spend 5 minutes waiting at the bar to be served, once they do, among so many tables they seat me at a mini-picnic table with diners on both sides less than 10cm away, the music very loud. You had to raise your voice a lot to be able to hear yourself, and, of course, everyone was talking loudly for the same reason, very noisy and not at all relaxing, I have seen quieter McDonald's. The food... apart from expensive, of average quality, I ordered salmon sushi, smoked salmon, tempura, among others, I have seen better quality in the Chinese that has been in my neighborhood for 20 years... I'm not saying it was bad, but simple and very Expensive for what it offers, it was an uncomfortable experience and I would recommend considering other places if what you want is to enjoy a quiet dinner in a Japanese restaurant.

Maar liefst 8 gerechten van de kaart konden we niet bestellen omdat ze uitverkocht waren !!!! Maar wel de volle pond rekenen. Ik zelf werd onderweg naar huis enorm beroerd en ben onderweg gestopt omdat ik moest overgeven 🤮 ik baal hier enorm van weg 100 euro voor niks dit was een etentje voor onze trouwdag gelukkig is ons huwelijk wel geslaagd.

Ate at shiso on 10-11-24. Food was fine, but little choice and many dishes were sold out. Service was very slow and was a complete chaos. We hadn't gotten round 1 yet and round two was already served. Staff member smelled strongly of sweat, not very fresh and certainly not if you work in service. Also met the exact same staff member in the toilet, where he then walked out of the toilet without washing his hands! Downright filthy! For us the last time we have been here!

I've never had such a bad meal anywhere. We honestly thought we were in a LOL program. The service was really bad. There was no one there when we entered (afterwards they were vaping at the front door). The food has never been so bad before. Chicken was raw twice (see photo). After speaking to the manager you only hear “okay, sorry”. There were also all kinds of containers on the floor where the food was thrown into. It really doesn't surprise me if there are mice walking on the ground. At checkout she wanted us to pay in full. After complaining about this twice, we finally received a discount. All in all a really ruined evening. I'm really disappointed about this because you pay a lot of money!!! That's why I really wouldn't recommend going here to anyone!

Wat een vreselijke beleving … vis is niet vers komt uit de vriezer. Geen enkele specials zijn te bestellen. Klacht in gediend en gevraagd naar de manager die het niet belangrijk genoeg vond om me te woord te staan. Soep besteld er zat een nog rauwe garnaal in. We arrived in Shiso at 20:30 with a reservation, at the entrance the main waiter was very gentle. But everything changed after we seated, Some of the waiters were very rude and unfriendly, just some of them were nice like the blonde guy and the Asian girl. The worst thing about this experience was the “scam” of the 'All you can eat' format. The portions are good but ridiculously small and there’s a possibility to order every 10 minutes only 8 peaces; We order from the beginning but the first plates arrived almost 40 minutes after the order. At the 9:45 pm they said that the kitchen was close even tho you can make a reservation till 9:00 pm, wich doesn’t make any sense. I booked a table for 6pm, arrived a few minutes early, told them about our reservation and we still had to wait 15 minutes to get seated. The 2 of us got a table without reservation, and were lucky they had space for us. We took the 'all you can eat' option, and were impressed with the service. It's a huge restaurant, but the staff really seemed on top of it. The food was OK, there was a DJ playing, the price was reasonable. We had a good time and would come back again.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We had reserved a table in advance for 9:00 PM and arrived on time. The waitress never informed us that it wasn’t an “all you can eat” service and assured us that we would have enough time for four rounds of food. However, after we had ordered two rounds, the shift manager came over and told us we only had 5 minutes left to order because the kitchen was closing. This was only 20 minutes after we sat down. As a result, we couldn’t place our third round of sushi, as there is a 10-minute gap between each order. To make matters worse, not all of our dishes were served, and the kitchen closed without any apology. We paid €120 and left hungry, barely having eaten anything. The waitress didn’t offer any solutions to the situation, which only made the experience worse.

Tuve una experiencia muy decepcionante en este restaurante. Habíamos reservado mesa con antelación para las 9 : 00 PM y llegó a tiempo. La camarera nunca nos informó que no era un servicio de “todo lo que puedas comer” y nos aseguró que tendríamos tiempo suficiente para cuatro rondas de comida. Sin embargo, después de haber ordenado dos rondas, el gerente de turno vino y nos dijo que solo nos quedaban 5 minutos para ordenar porque la cocina estaba cerrando. Esto fue solo 20 minutos después de sentarnos. Como resultado, no pudimos colocar nuestra tercera ronda de sushi, ya que hay un intervalo de 10 minutos entre cada pedido. Para empeorar las cosas, no todos nuestros platos fueron servidos, y la cocina cerró sin ninguna disculpa. Pagamos 120€ y nos fuimos hambrientos, sin apenas haber comido nada. Half the dishes we ordered didn’t show up, half the dishes we had on our table - we didn’t order. The staff doesn’t care too much about the customer, A water is 8.50 Euro Food in general wasn’t bad but also not great In total I wouldn’t recommend :(

We were first of all impressed by the size of the establishment, this is not where you will find peace! We chose the "all you can eat" formula, we ate very well and were not disappointed by our dishes. On the other hand, disappointed by the quality of service because half of our dishes were not served, and the wait was quite long. I think this establishment makes a lot of money on the backs of customers with this formula. I won't come back unfortunately.

Malissimo....abbiamo prenotato per le 21:00 ci hanno dato 1 ora e 20 minuti per mangiare e da dopo il primo ordine già non facevano arrivare le cose, 9 euro per una bottiglia d'acqua naturale e 3,50 per una da 250 ml robe da matti....il sashimi è tutto a pagamento fuori menu e abbiamo speso 94 euro in due mangiato a scaglioni e roba che non abbiamo ordinato e alla fine non hanno fatto neanche arrivare tutto. La qualità è buona ma tutto il resto no!

Place looks fancy, but never coming back again. It was my first time ever having to wait for drinks for 2 hours. We had a reservation at 4:30, ordered cocktails right away. Waited for half an hour, and asked about them since nothing arrived at the table. They said that the bar opens at 5. Alright, I see 2 bar tenders starting at 5, chilling, chit chatting, putting perfume on, not doing anything. One hour and a half later we are at dessert time with no drinks on the table still. I asked them at one point to remove the cocktails from the bill. When I ask for the check, guess what, drinks still on the bill to be paid, so I had to ask again to remove them since I won’t pay for something I did not have. No apologies, nothing done for service recovery to make guests happy. I also made a specific note while making the reservation that it was my sister’s birthday, nothing happened. You have so much staff but no idea how to provide the right service in such a beautiful restaurant. You have an elegant setting of the restaurant but playing random teenager music from 2014…the table next to us had to also pay for drinks that never arrived at their table because they did not check the bill before hand…food was always cold and sloppy. All of this happened when it was not busy at all.

Afgelopen zaterdag had ik om 20:00 een tafel gereserveerd om met mijn date te gaan eten. We kwamen iets later aan, zo'n 10 minuutjes, en wat zagen we? Een rij van minstens 30 mensen die ook nog op een tafel stonden te wachten. Serieus? We hebben daarna nog een kwartier binnen staan wachten, maar het schoot echt totaal niet op. Niemand in die rij kreeg een tafel, en om het nog erger te maken: er was niemand van het personeel die even de moeite nam om uit te leggen wat er aan de hand was of hoe lang het nog zou duren. Echt, hoe kan dat? Ik dacht altijd dat het idee van een reservering juist was dat je een tafel hebt en niet hoeft te stressen over een volle zaak. Maar dit? Complete chaos en absoluut onprofessioneel. Dikke afrader dus. Mijn dateavond was compleet verziekt door dit gedoe. Gelukkig hebben we er zelf nog het beste van gemaakt, maar ik ben echt pissed. Dit is niet hoe je met je gasten omgaat!

All you can eat sushi with really good quality sushi and much more that you can order by cell phone every 10 minutes. Great location, great interior design and well done. Was really the best so far. Highly recommended for in downtown Amsterdam.

The all you can eat feels like a scam. It's max 4 sushi per order and then you have to wait 10mins. Then they don't serve water and a 750ml bottle is 8.5eur. The better options on the menu all have supplements to pay, so you can only eat pretty basic rolls with AYCE. Compared to North American options and style (no order limit, no wait time, all you can drink soft drinks, larger choice), it's definitely a pretty bad deal.

The place is very nice, but the all you can eat formula is a big scam. You can choose between just few types of sushi, and you can order just 4 portions every 10 min. Each portion is very small, like 2-3 pieces. And you’ve just 2h to finish your meal. Food quality is average, nothing special. 8,5 eur for a bottle of water is a big scam. Overall I wouldn’t recommend to come here.

my roomate and I we visited this restaurant; it’s our third time here and it is as great as always. Every once in a while I get a craving for shiso and I can’t stop thinking of shiso until I come here and eat at shiso. We actually had a problem with our order and our waitress Yun was incredibly helpful and attentive (I think it’s spelled like this, we didn’t really get the spelling of her name unfortunately) making the overall experience immaculate. Recommended 5/5!! it was a little bit hot tho so four stars for the atmosphere, however this is overcomed by the service by all the staff members Creme Brulee was incredible too!!
