Tastes like cleaning fluid (think chlorine or something) baked in old or burnt grease. If you want to get screwed by a Chinese person, definitely eat here. Disgusting.

"The Angry Spring Roll Boat Ride" Well, where do I begin... When I walked in, I briefly thought I'd accidentally walked into a family feud. The atmosphere was a mix of "you're not welcome" and "don't ask anything, or we'll bite your head off." The staff looked at me as if I'd run over their cat and then asked if the Wi-Fi was working. The food? Well, it was there. You could eat it. I mean, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't something you'd wake your grandmother up for either. For the price I paid, I actually expected the spring rolls to be personally folded by a Shaolin monk, accompanied by a dragon dance. Spoiler alert: that didn't happen. My babi pangang tasted like it had had a fight with both the cook and the microwave. And the microwave won. Conclusion: If you enjoy passive-aggressive looks, a stomach-churning bill that makes you think you're getting a culinary boat trip, and food that's just not quite as good as it gets... then The Showboat is your dream destination. Otherwise? Skip this boat. Ahoy, and good luck!

27-06-2025. Picked up takeaway tonight. We had nasi and bami, foe yonghai, steak strips with honey pepper sauce, seasonal vegetables with oyster sauce. To start with nasi and bami, there was almost nothing in it, so more like white rice and white bami. The portions are small compared to another Chinese takeaway. We normally easily eat from that for 2 days. But now we only have half a container of nasi left. Foeyonghai, There was a tasteless orangey sauce with it. Tasted more like thickener than anything else. There were some flieders egg that was fried too hard in some places. It also consisted of coarsely chopped vegetables (stumps) and large pieces of mushroom. I'm not a big eater and with a container of foeyonghai I normally do 2 days. With this container certainly not. With the steak strips there were whole strips of bell pepper. I personally don't like very spicy food, but even I found the beef very bland. And the seasonal vegetables were very coarsely cut and also hard. Furthermore, everything was tasteless and greasy. The bami slid off my fork. Added half a jar of sambal (which was included) to my portion of bami and it was still bland. And that for 35 euros!!. This was the 1st time we went there. But never again.

Delicious food and very neat service and service! We are happy that we no longer have to travel to Amsterdam or The Hague for really good authentic Chinese food.

Faded glory, a ship about to sink. Nostalgic interior, friendly service, food ordered and picked up. The quality wasn't great, and I went to bed with a stomach ache, and this wasn't because we'd eaten too much.

Picked up food and we had a delicious meal (rice, noodles, satay, babi pangang) I've been coming here for years and the prices have risen considerably here too. You can eat it with 4 to 5 people, there were 3 of us, so there was still room left for the next day.

Picked up again after a long time, unfortunately the quality of the food has deteriorated considerably. The noodles and nasi were not fried. The rest of the food is very bland and the taste has really deteriorated. I came here for years, but unfortunately this was the last time. 50 euros wasted...

Get here more often over the years and has always been good. Since the last 2 times it has been nasi, a bowl of white rice with really very spicy vegetables and meat in it, it doesn't taste like nasi and doesn't look like nasi, the babi pangang is always the tastiest part of the meal for me, but I have thrown it away twice now, it was very limp, 70% fat. Is there a new chef or a new owner, I'll give it one more chance and if it's the same, I'll look for another one, because like the last 2 times it's run out for my money.

Got it for the first time this week, the fou Yong hay ordered without meat did have meat, the free prawn crackers were so broken and greasy that it went straight into the bin, the rest of the food was quite tasteless, and the most expensive Chinese food I picked it up, unfortunately never again!

Totally unfriendly service, no one can speak German, only difficult communication in English. I asked if I could use the toilet and was only answered that there was no toilet. When I asked, I was only told that it was not possible to use the toilet even for money.

We recently had a number of meals here with friends from the fairly extensive menu. We didn't have to wait long and it all tasted great.

Had a delicious meal with friends on our way to Doperduin in Schoorl. The service was attentive, very friendly and made everyone feel at ease as soon as they entered. The kitchen gave me a special treat with my bami rames to surprise. Crispy, and highly recommended in terms of sweet, sour, savory and bite.

The Vegetarian spring roll and spring roll chicken are quite tasty. Sufficiently filled with vegetables.

Had a nice meal here on Father's Day. Very friendly service and hospitable. We lacked nothing. The food was delicious, we ordered wok dishes, including steak with cashew nuts and chicken with curry. Delicious coffee with nougat and chocolates. It was more than enough. My father couldn't finish it and was allowed to take it home in a container. It was a successful evening.

Today I got food from Showboat for the first time. This pandemic has raised prices everywhere, including at the restaurant I used to go to in Hoofddorp, so I wasn't too surprised by the high prices here. But you also get quality for that! We had a delicious meal. The Koe Loe Kai was perfect, as were the Satay Ajam and the mini spring rolls. It seemed like the noodles in these noodles were a little thicker than normal, but it didn't detract from the taste. I will definitely come back again soon!

I don't like negative reviews, and because I suspect that they have done their best, not 1, but 2 stars. But what a disappointment. I was used to the Chinese at De Laat, but since it has new owners I have been looking for an alternative. There is one in Schoorl, which is quite reasonable, but a bit far. So today I tried Showboat. Order was ready, quickly cycled home and opened with anticipation. I literally took a maximum of ten bites. Thick, sloppy noodles, tough sateh, those breaded balls that could be tasty if they were chicken, but now I didn't even know what they were. The Babi Pangang was decent. But all in all, I put the whole thing back in the containers, and they will go to the chickens tomorrow. Never again, unfortunately. This was my most expensive 14.50 ever.

Delicious vegetarian food. Delicious dishes including tofu in hot sauce and tasty fresh vegetables together with soft vegetarian noodles and for dessert mango sorbet ice cream with fresh pieces of mango on top. Service was very friendly and hospitable. At the end, coffee or tea from the company, as a warm gesture. What was left was neatly packaged and returned in containers as when collected. Neat clean toilets, only cold. Delicious meal and seating. Top.
