A very cozy place with an amazing staff the food is amazing and this is our second time back here on this three day trip! Really recommend this Thai restaurant ❤️

Very bad experience … we fell badly sick after eating at this restaurant with my husband and both of us ended up with stomach ache and vomitting a few hours after our meal !!! The pad Thai was too sweet too acid with little to no vegetables !!! We questioned the oily starters but didn’t think we will end up being sick for the rest of our trip !!!! Soo disappointing to pay such high price to end up sick !!!! Hope this helps saving holidays of other people !!!

The three of us just had dinner and it was the worst Thai food we've ever had. The tofu with green curry was such a small portion, there was very little tofu in it, and for 18 euros it wasn't worth it. Pad Thai tastes like nothing Thai, it tastes very sweet, no lime, no bean sprouts, no peanuts, nothing. The fish was dry and tasted like nothing. We'll never go back again, really not tasty.

We had dinner here as the first thing upon arriving Amsterdam. As a Thai person, I can say this restaurant’s provide authentic Thai food with thai hot and spicy! The waitress is nice and friendly! We order 1 starter and 2 main plus 2 beers and 1 still water with total 83euro. Worth it!

I usually don’t write reviews but a statement from the owner / manager / man at the reception triggered me to write one. Before that, I would like to give 5 star for the food and an exceptional service by the lady. The only reason I would deduct 1 star is for the statement from the man at the reception. Please see following for details. We wanted to reserve before visiting but unfortunately our call wasn’t picked (I can imagine they were busy due to festival season) so we decided to visit directly and try our luck and glad that we found a table for 6 and the lady greeted us with respect and lovely smile. Food was amazing and there were enough options for all food preferences (sea food, chicken, vegetarian). The lady was really friendly and she even greeted us and said thanks in our language. After the dinner, when I went to pay and also appreciate them for food and accommodating us as we tried our luck without reservation, the lady asked me to write a review of if I liked the service, I responded that I usually don’t do it and my repeat visit and word of mouth is a way to show appreciation and then the man at the reception said to the lady (politely though) that ‘Please don’t ask him to write reviews’ and then he confirmed my native country, which i responded to as Indian; he said to the lady that Indians only write bad reviews and never appreciate by writing a good one; to which I responded that if that is the case then I would like to change the trend and hence would like to say that everything was good except for the statement which was generalising the attributes of whole country people. Sir, with all due respect, every person is different and we all are human beings first; our origin, colour, background is just our identity. Having said that, I understand what you mean. Keep doing the great work, feeding people is amongst the most noble job in the world. Thanks and have a great new year 2026.

I had the worst food experience here. The food was bad? The service was bad. There was no cutlery on the table, no waters served. We ordered tofu fried rice and the tofu went bad. When we told the owner that food was bad he literally threw the plates in front of us. It was disgusting for us as tourists

A personal note to the owner, you have a terrible attitude, a terrible temper and a terrible service, if you don’t like what you, why do it, you are a terrible host.

I was very disappointed with my visit to Sam Thaï. The Thai noodles I ordered were undercooked, very crunchy, and difficult to eat. The sauce was extremely sweet, to the point of being inedible. The waiter was also very unfriendly. He got annoyed because I didn’t finish my dish, even though the quality of the food was really not acceptable. Despite this, we were still charged the full amount, without a single apology or even a goodbye. A very disappointing experience that I do not recommend.

Delicious Thai cuisine and friendly service! The Pad Thai and Ka Pad Krapau were both delicious and tasted authentic. Highly recommended for Thai cuisine lovers. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the entire dining experience very enjoyable. The restaurant's decor is rather basic and simple, but the quality of the food and service more than make up for it. Siam Thai is a great place for Thai food! We will definitely be back when we're in Amsterdam again.

Came here one day after work, not expecting much and I have to say I am thankful I did. It’s my go to Thai place in the city. Delicious thai food, quick service, super friendly staff and the food tastes fresh. AND I think the prices are good, considering the location. Really recommend it for a quick warm lunch or dinner, or even for take away if you’re a bit in a hurry!

I didn’t notice any Thai staff! all the employees seemed to be Egyptian. The food didn’t quite capture authentic Thai flavors, and the service was below average. Overall, it wasn’t the experience I was hoping for. There is a minimum charge 17€ per person.

Honestly the exterior wasn’t appealing. But you walk in and order and the food was insane. The chili oil was immaculate. Pad ki Mau was so good and great spice. Chicken Satay was also good and fresh. Great service was my favorite Thai spot in Amsterdam.

We had ate there once and wanted to get a light lunch but even though the restaurant was empty was empty they would not serve us since they require that you spend 17.5 euros per person and 2 euros to use the toilet.

Everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered seven meals and they were all absolutely delicious. The service was also excellent.

Food: Not really good. Pad Thai was over-seasoned, no fresh sprouts, no limes, no ground peanuts. Very simple. Left half. Too much for €19. Service: Responded rudely to our criticism. Others apparently love it so inauthentic. No apologies. Plus point: the food came very quickly. Atmosphere: Plain snack bar atmosphere for a quick meal. Not exactly conducive to lingering.

Two weeks ago, my wife and I ate here during SAIL. The food was delicious and good. We went back today with my wife and had another wonderful meal with a Thai beer. It was fantastic again. Highly recommended and not expensive.

Amazing Thai food when you need something spicy and flavorful, yum!

Got some mixed feelings about this place. The woman who served us was excellent and the food was not bad, but after being in Thailand 20x I guess I have an idea of how Thai food should taste. You can use Thai ingredients, but that doesn't mean the food taste like in Thailand if not cooked by a Thai (but Egyptian I believe). The finishing touch of a little salt her, a bit of sugar and fish sauce there is missing (fingerspitzengefühl). So food is okay if you don't know how Thai food should taste, if you expect Thai food as you remember from your holidays, you will not find it here.

FOR GOODNESS... From the moment we entered, the impression wasn't great; the place was a bit cramped. Obviously, with a bit of difficulty due to the foreign language, I ordered a mixed appetizer with spring rolls and dried-out pork ribs, and something else, sold as meat that tasted like nothing. My friend ordered a bland broth. But the best part is when it comes to the bill! At first, when we asked to pay by debit card, the gentleman replied that they didn't have a POS terminal, then reiterated that for €34.00, it was normal to pay cash. Finally, I asked the lady who served us if it was possible to pay by credit card, and they finally brought us a card machine. When we asked to split the bill, she was surprised and somewhat annoyed, saying that wasn't possible. In any case, I don't recommend it. The meals are subpar, the bill is exorbitant for what they give you, and they're also rude.

Terrible experience. We ordered some starters and drinks, but then the owner came over and told us we’d have to pay an extra €7.50 each if we didn’t spend at least €30. We literally just sat down for a small bite. Also not a Thai owner, he was shouting in Hebrew like language when standing behind. We stood up and left. I am from Amsterdam and know what a decent Thai restaurant should be like. I would not recommend this place.

Debido a que solo pedimos 2 entrantes y bebidas, el propietario vino y nos dijo que tendríamos que pagar 7 € extra. 50 cada uno si no gastamos al menos 30€. La actitud era algo como nunca antes había sentido. Claramente tampoco era un propietario tailandés, ya que gritaba en hebreo cuando estaba detrás de nosotros mirando por encima de nuestros hombros. Decidimos cancelar nuestro pedido y marcharnos. Sin duda una experiencia terrible.

I have been twice. The first one, the man went through a horrible and violent discussion in the phone (he was in the first floor and you can hear him). We decide to back and give a second opportunity because everyone can have a bad day. BUT unfortunately this person is very rude!! We went 35 minutes before to close, the lady ask if we eat fast, we say yes but the man come to us telling he was going to turn off the lights in 30 minutes no mutter if we finished or not. Definitely if you want mistreating for sure you should go there. The 2 stars are for the lady, because she apologizes all the time for the treatment of the man.

There was no taste to food. There was no courtesy in service. The waiter was extremely rude and unpleasant. If you are looking for good, tasty food, this is not the place to go. Not many options for vegetarian food. What they serve as vegetarian is terrible. Rice wasn't cooked fully.

Had a major craving for rice and stumbled upon Siam Thai in Amsterdam—turned out to be a decent Asian fix. Tried the pork & chicken basil with rice—taste was alright, not the best Thai I’ve had but when you’re hungry, it works. Also ordered the chicken fried rice—it had a strong masala-like flavour, not terrible but not my fave either. Overall, okay spot to satisfy a rice craving, but don’t expect mind-blowing Thai.

We had lunch at this Thai restaurant after visiting the Royal Palace in Dam Square. We wanted to try a different cuisine, and we were definitely satisfied: the menu offers a decent selection of chicken, beef, fish, and vegetarian dishes. I recommend the appetizers: there are four samples of each entree; there were four of us, so by choosing three, we each got to try the different specialties. The main courses are also described in English, with a number to make ordering easier. Just be careful with spicy foods: they can be quite spicy, so serve them with rice. The menu also includes desserts, but we didn't try them because we were satisfied with them as they were. I recommend it.
