Nice alternative for a dinner out in a friendly place with tasty food

Best restaurant in Amsterdam for my wife and I. Mind blowing features, finger-licking food and cozy/jazzy/fuzzy ambiance. It's easy to find and really good! Get down there as soon as you set foot in Dam.

Great burger! Cooked in a charcoal oven for an even better tasting grassfed patty. Enthousiastic and very friendly service, and loved that the chef also came to ask how the food was. Delicious!

Was the first time I ate here as I have been working here for 5 years, it was definitely worth it. We had a Sloppy Joe burger and the steak in a bun with appropriate sauces. It was really a party, we received super friendly help and good advice from the staff. To be repeated.

Loved our meal here at sloppy Joe's. We got the nachos to start and then my partner got a burger. He said it was lovely and juicy and he enjoyed it a lot. Unfortunately I wasn't too fond of the cesear salad but I am very fussy when it comes to salads so don't take my word for it. The service was lovely and the chef brought the meals himself. He was so bubbly and nice. Same with the waitress. She was so friendly and everyone was all round efficient. Definitely recommend checking this place out when in Amsterdam.

Very very good time spent at Sloppy Joe. We had dinner there twice during our stay and the atmosphere was relaxed, the people were friendly and the food was very good value for money.

We stayed at the Meliá INNside in Amsterdam- zood. We found this place nearby and loved it ! The burgers are delish, staff is wonderful really enjoyed our meal here. Highly recommend!

Yup, good Rips, sloppy joe Burger & fries. But I reduce one star because the 9 onions Rings are in my opinion way to overpriced. But I would come Back, Just this time without the onions Rings.

Yesterday we went to Sloppy Joe with colleagues. Very nice restaurant in a great location. The food is delicious for a good price. Very friendly service, very quick service. All in all, definitely worth repeating!

Staff was nice but service was extremely slow. Food was tasty but in small portions (although served in very big dishes that cold barely fit in very small tables)🙈. Considering price and overall experience (waiting time above all), I wouldn’t come back. But staff and food is tasty.. so 3*

Small shop with good food but quite expensive. Especially since you have to order side dishes separately. Friendly staff. Excellent location with ah parking garage opposite or public transport.

It is a very warm and friendly place. The dishes are delicious and plentiful. I highly recommend this restaurant for serious gourmets.

Best burgers in town! And not only are the burgers and meat delicious, the sweet potato fries are the best around. The atmosphere is always good and relaxed, Sloppy Joe feels like coming home. Cozy, hospitable and fantastic service.

The food was medium, service excellent, atmosphere of the place was good but the students sitting behind us loudly discussing their bedpartners ruined the vibe for me. Maybe a better experience next time....

Waren voor een weekend op bezoek in Amsterdam. Op zoek naar een restaurant voordat we naar Pathé gingen. Erg lekker menu, hebben erg genoten van het eten en drinken. Goed betaalbaar en vriendelijke bediening. Als wij weer naar Amsterdam komen gaan wij weer naar Sloppy Joe.

I had the veggie burger and my friend had the fish burger, it was super tasty! Great cozy and relaxed atmosphere, very nice and fast service (also the drinks :)). Even the cook came by for a chat. This is a great tent!!! Highly recommended. 'Just act normal and you're acting crazy enough' is the mentality here. Love it.

Delicious cuisine, good service and cozy

Stumbled across this place after a long day traveling and in dire need of sustenance. Lovely warm welcome, great service and food soon arrived. Food absolutely delicious, ‘fat bastard burger’ and ‘sloppy Joe’ accompanied by sweet potato and traditional fries. Couple of cold beers to wash it all down too. Chef came to the table to ensure all was good, clearly confident it would be. Truffle mayonnaise dip was stunning. Good value for money and look forward to returning one day.

Lekker gegeten met mijn zoon na een week vis en pasta eten in Italie. Heerlijke vleesgerechten, goede service van de dame dat serveerde. Stond versteld van hoe snel zij alles voor elkaar kreeg bij de tafels in haar eentje. Aanrader voor een lekkere menu en leuke avond.

Prima restaurant waar je heerlijk kan eten. Daarbij komt dat de bediening vreselijk aardig is. Een topper en de moeite waard om eens te gaan bezoeken.

I went here while visiting amsterdam on a work trip from the US. Somehow the dutch have beaten americans at their own game, it was an exquisite sloppy joe. I was particularly excited that there was a vegetarian version of it *and* that the flavor and texture of it was amazing, the only way I knew it was different was eating it side by side with a meat one.

Beide een voedselvergiftiging opgelopen na het eten van de grootste burger van de kaart (of de gamba's, maar deze proefde wel vers). Reactie: We hebben met z'n tweeën de burger gehad en allebei ziek. Voor de rest van de avond niks gegeten of ergens anders geweest. Kan een keer gebeuren, gelukkig is het niet eerder voorgekomen!

Was extremely pleased to be here! The food was of very good, I could even say exceptional quality for that price. I had a burger and sweet potato fries. Want to specifically say a word about patty: it is cooked in an oven, had this wonderful taste you get when something is cooked that way. Also want to say many thanks for the extremely nice and warm service, unfortunately I didn’t ask the waiter for his name, but his interaction was exceptionally friendly and easy-going, I defined felt very welcome here!

Had a late Saturday night dinner here on way from downtown back to hotel. Outstanding, fast, friendly service. Had the hamburger special, fat bastard, sloppy Joe burger, and grilled veggies. Can honestly say the burgers were among the best we’ve ever had. Fresh and flavourful. And our server was delightful! A wonderful experience.

Klein en gezellig restaurant! Zoals in Google maps beschreven bij review van Sloppy Joe was het eten uitstekend! De bedingen was ook top en erg vriendelijk,. We hebben daar de nacho's als voor gerecht gehad, daarna als hoofdgerecht de spaer ribs en broodje hamburger gehad! Het is zeker een aanrader om hier een keer gezellig te gaan eten!

LOVED LOVED LOVED! Family owned business. You feel the amazing service right from the beginning. The mixed grill is great for two people and has everything! Sweet potatoes and grilled veggies were awesome!

Overzichtelijke menukaart... de burgers zijn zeker aan te raden, net als de cocktails. De porties zijn ruim voldoende en smaakvol. Kers op de taart is het leuke personeel, wat je graag helpt bij het maken van je keuze en tijd maakt voor een praatje!

Very tasty burgers - you can tell all the ingredients are fresh. Crispy lettuce, yummy patties, delicious bun. Definitely try the cheese sticks, too!

What a wonderful surprise! The spareribs were wonderful, with a slight “cooked on charcoal” flavour, without being too smokey. The fries were simply perfect. The burger was tasty (fresh ingredients etc.), however the patty was a bit overcooked, (we failed to specify “medium rare” so maybe that’s why), and a little dense (usually a sign that the meat was grounded too thin and/or seasoned a bit too early). Staff are lovely and overall it was a great experience.

Dit restaurant heeft mij echt verrast! Héérlijk eten, lekker mals vlees, goede spareribs en verse friet! Alles wat we gegeten hebben was van topkwaliteit. Ook zijn de cocktails super! Om lekker te eten en te borrelen ben je hier sowieso aan het juiste adres. De bediening en het personeel is ook behulpzaam en vriendelijk, iets wat je tegenwoordig niet meer overal ziet. Wij komen zeker weer terug! 5 sterren!

Es war sehr lecker und super gemütlich zu sitzen. Die Preise sind vorallem für das Bier unfassbar super :) Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich und freundlich. Würde auf jeden Fall wieder kommen! Preis Leistung ist klasse und man wird auch satt.

Erg leuke zaak, waar we zijn terechtgekomen omdat we hier € 50,- korting konden krijgen met gespaarde Yums van TheFork. Burgers kunnen in restaurants nog wel eens wat saai zijn, maar deze kipburger was heerlijk! Daarnaast coleslaw van goede kwaliteit, lekkere verse frieten en een prima ambiance. Ga zo door!
