I consider myself a semi regular patron of SmaaQt. My partner and I have had very enjoyable dinners here in the past. Today‘s experience was a huge disappointment on all fronts in large part due to the utterly rude and catastrophic service from the blonde Russian sounding waitress. Her communication was cold, her disposition lazy and the entire experience was bordering on racist. It took an unnaturally long time to receive our menu’s, to the point where I had to get up and get them myself. When I finally got the waitress’s attention, she lazily walked over with menus in hand. Upon seeing that I had already grabbed some, she rudely contorted her face in annoyance as if I had just inconvenienced her, and not the other way around. I know this place isn’t located in city center but I thought people here would still hire people with basic human respect and morals. Her behavior was hostile and I felt completely unwelcome. Needless to say I will not be coming back to this establishment that clearly doesn’t care about making its international clientele feel comfortable and welcome.

Worst service I’ve ever had in my life. I left before ordering the food. Very rude staff. They can’t adapt even a bit. Not welcoming. I really don’t recommend.

Today, March 26, '26: Ripped off with the wrong beer types on the bill for a measly €2.90 extra. Pathetic way to boost revenue. Same story for bar snacks, charged incorrectly for a few extra euros. Regret giving a tip now :(

It was the first time we were here, but we had a bad experience. We asked if there were gluten-free options because my wife has celiac disease. The waitress went to the kitchen and said that there was only one salad that could be made gluten-free; so far, so good. We asked if there was an omelet or meat dish that could be prepared gluten-free, but the waitress was so rude and unfriendly that we got up and will never come back here again.

The food was good, the service excellent. The menu isn't extensive, but there's something for everyone.

Absetely delicious food, high quality wine and drinks. The duck was perfectly done and was out of this world. I had the tenderloin and it was a great piece of meat that was cooked to perfection. It became a quick favorite for our friends who live in noord. Do note price point is a bit high but it is well worth it.

Quite an exquisite dinner place. Enjoyed every moment of it. Atmosphere is warm, most welcoming and private at the same time. Food was beyond our expectations. We were party of 6 and everyone ordered something different and everyone fall in love with their choice. Not the cheapest place but good food comes with its price. Bon Appétit

We had a fantastic lunch, salad with tenderloin. I was craving some ice cream for dessert, and they were able to fix that off the menu. Next time we're in Amsterdam-Noord, we'll definitely be back.

Looking for something different than a fast food joint in North City Center, I stumbled upon SmaaQt. It's a nice place, the music is good but not too loud, the staff is friendly, and the food is simply good. Portobello is highly recommended.

My husband ordered the sirloin steak. It had a lot of fat on it. He then received a new one after complaining, but this time without the garnish?! Literally just the sirloin steak. Very unusual, especially since it was €33... the sirloin was otherwise quite flavorful. I had the cod risotto. There was a lot of black pepper in the risotto. Very overpowering... and I also found the plating rather poor for that price. We won't be back. We're very good cooks ourselves, so we're very picky... after all, you pay a lot of money to be taken care of. That's fine, but I do want to feel taken care of :)

Smaakt has a delicious standard menu for everyone. I'm a fan of the chicken thigh skewers with satay. But there are more delicious options available. However, for younger children who don't like regular restaurant food, the selection is limited. A children's menu or smaller portions are not standard.

Beautiful elements in the decor... brick walls, wooden crates as wallpaper... the tournedos was delicious, and the spare ribs were a huge portion! Very friendly staff!

We found this place walking past, popped our heads in for lunch. I think we returned everyday for the rest of our stay, sometimes eating there twice in one day. The man that served us was very nice and always fast to serve us. Value for money here, the servings are rather large compared to most resteraunts we have come across and the food is made with love, absolutley delicious. Best damn crème brûlée I’ve ever had too.

You will never see us here again! Worthless. What should have been a nice dinner to celebrate a birthday, ended in a disaster. My wife ordered the pasta fruit de mer, with the express request not to put pancetta in it. According to the waitress, Charlotte, no problem. When the plates were served and my wife took her first bite, there was pancetta in it after all. A large amount, throughout the dish. I spoke to Charlotte about it, she came back from the kitchen with the message that the chef had made the dish exactly as she wanted, and that everything that was in it belonged in it. When I showed her the pieces of pancetta that were clearly visible throughout the dish, she said that that was not possible at all, because the pancetta was gone. Erm... it really was pancetta in the pasta. No further discussion was given, no alternative was offered, nothing was done to solve the problem. So we all put down our cutlery, paid and left. Again, you will never see me/us there again! Oh yes, we had made a reservation in advance.....

Vegan burger was clearly not the specialty. Service also very mediocre and slow. For 55 eu with two people it was actually downright bad. There is a nice tent with a terrace at the back.

I had the best appeltaart in Amsterdam at SmaaQt. It was warm, with a crunchy crust and was not too sweet.

The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere. The service is super friendly and relaxed. The food, both the appetizers and the main courses, were very good. The portions are large. The satay chicken could easily have been eaten by two people. We can highly recommend!

Had a delicious lunch again this afternoon, always nice to be at Smaaq.

The worst customer service ever! We were served by a girl who had 0 manners! Firstly, she didn't even bother to clean our table, she just collected the empty bottles and glasses and left all the crumbles there. She cleaned the table only after we asked her. Then everytime she came to our table, she was not speaking a single word, just putting the food and cutleries in front of us and when we thanked her, she didn't even look at us. Eventually, we realized we had paid too much because of a system error (?) and she just returned the money without even apologizing! Also, why do the drinks menus lack prices? When we asked her about the prices, she just gave us another menu where the prices were "starting from". Never again visiting this restaurant ...

Once again we had a delicious meal at Smaaqt on the Pekstraat in Oud-Noord. Nice cozy restaurant where you can also eat outside in the courtyard when the weather is nice, always friendly service and good service. The food is always good and the menu offers something for everyone. You can also come here in the afternoon for a good lunch. In any case, they will definitely see me again!

The food differs from the photos on Google maps: in reality many ingridients were absent. The staff says they changed the menu, so now the dishes are really low. For example Eggs Royal it is just a bread, eggs, salmon and sauce without any sides.

Stumbled upon smaaqt for lunch by chance! Neither of us knew it, but it has been in the north for almost ten years! We were the only ones (the weather was very bad) but it didn't feel uncomfortable or unpleasant at all. There is a nice atmosphere, sweet and helpful staff and delicious food. All in all a very nice place to have a bite to eat!
