The motto here seems to be: the owner is king, not the customer. Really, what a joke. The owner is a non-Thai man, fine. But he walks around as if he doesn't care about any of it and as if he is sitting here purely to earn money while sitting comfortably. The poor man is clearly not the best at radiating customer friendliness, but to then immediately tell the customer at checkout that payment must be made either in cash or via Tikkie… How cheap and unprofessional does that come across with such a nicely decorated little restaurant in the center of Rotterdam? I understand that you want to avoid taxes, but the owner is really the last person who should be asking the customer for a favor on top of that. First of all: for a restaurant like this, you shouldn't be charging such high prices: 1. The portions are far too small for that. 2. The vegetables used are cheap vegetables to fill up the dish cheaply, whereas authentic Thai cuisine actually uses more and different types of vegetables. 3. The food was served incredibly late, while the restaurant itself was quite empty. 4. Please, replace those cheap plastic plates and just serve on normal ceramic plates. I understand that you want to bring the ‘street style’ of Thailand, but do the same with the price *and* the food.

We ordered a delicious pad thai at soi3. It was a first time for both of us. There was a waiting time of 60 to 90 minutes. To our surprise, the waiter arrived 20 minutes early. We were greeted kindly by this Dutch man. We took our first bite and were blown away. A true taste explosion in our mouths. Patricia Paay would be jealous. You might be wondering why not 5 stars? The shrimp had to be peeled ourselves and there was very little chicken in it, yet the chicken that was there was delicious. Until next time.

This place was fabulous. Friendly, welcoming and loads of seating (both indoor & outdoor). Host is happy to help with menu selections and recommendations. I would absolutely reccomend coming here for an authentic, warm and delicious dinner! Portions are generous & so tasty. Thank you!

A good base for a salsa evening. Because the delivery time turned out to be a bit longer, we cycled to Soi3 ourselves to eat there. That turned out to be a good choice! We enjoyed sitting outside, the food was fantastic, and the service was friendly and welcoming!

Had a very tasty shrimp pad thai that was prepared quickly for a Friday night. Friendly service and a good price, so I will be back soon!

This is the first time I've been to a restaurant where they serve food off plastic plates and the napkins are toilet paper, lol. Speaking of which, I'm posting a picture of the "napkins" on the table because I thought it was the most sensational photo I could take of the place. I must admit, the photos of the plates themselves are nothing spectacular. Okay, after this lighthearted prelude, let's get down to business. After the meal, I had the privilege of peeking into the kitchen and discovered that the restaurant is run by two women, the chef and the commis chef. I had the privilege of telling her that she's a magician of flavors, and she returned my smile of thanks, which connected us for half a second. Let me tell you how we got there. My wife and I ordered three different dishes. Each of these dishes came with a sauce. I can confidently say that this woman deserves the title of master sauce maker, as they say in France. It's possible to taste the different dishes one after another without any break in the flavor connection. What does that mean? It means that these sauces are 100% gourmet, with no cheap (chemical) flavor enhancers. In Paris, I've never tasted Thai food this good, but I've finally gotten the full story. We're here in northeastern Thailand, on the border with Laos. Our chef will take you on a journey through 1,000 incredible and indescribable flavors. Even the mango dessert is out of this world. Are you passionate about Asian flavors like nowhere else? Do you like to wipe your mouth with toilet paper (like me)? Welcome to a paradise of flavors, and as my old pal George used to say: What else? It's a shame the rating is stuck at 5.0.

Years ago, this was the discovery of the world. Insanely delicious food, cozy atmosphere, nice staff, Thai ladies in the kitchen. But slowly it went downhill. Last year I made three more attempts (all the way from Utrecht!): all three times they turned out to be closed. You only find that out after sitting on the terrace waiting in vain for fifteen minutes. Then you go and take a look, and there's a note on the door saying 'Closed due to the heat'... 'Closed due to circumstances', that kind of text. Nowhere on the website did it say they were closed. Third time's the charm; since then I've found another Thai place nearby. To my great satisfaction.

We just the amazing pad thai special and had a very nice guy from the restaurant deliver it to us. The thai curry with duck is also a recommend!

The food was supposed to be delivered around 6:50 PM at the latest, but was ultimately not delivered until around 8:00 PM. Because the order took so long to arrive, I contacted the restaurant. The employee who answered indicated that he was from waitstaff and that this was "not his problem." I found that a strange response, since I was calling specifically to get information about my order. When I asked if he could call the delivery person while I stayed on the line, the connection was simply cut off. On a second call, no one answered at first. When someone finally did answer, I was told that they could not help me because it was busy. Shortly afterward, I received a call back from the owner, probably because my missed call had been noticed. He indicated that the delivery person would be with us within one minute. In reality, it took about another 30 minutes for the order to arrive. The delivery person then explained that there were too few drivers available and that he had had to deliver to eight other addresses before our order. As a result, the food arrived lukewarm, the packaging had leaked, and the dishes were soggy and of clearly lower quality than expected. Additionally, we had ordered a dish with grilled duck. To our surprise, this dish consisted largely of chicken, with only a few small pieces of duck. It appeared as if the duck had run out and had been replenished or replaced with chicken without consultation or mention. That is not what we ordered, nor is it what we were entitled to expect. The communication, the delivery, and the quality of the food were all very disappointing. Based on this experience, we will not order from here again.

As a Thai person I would expected the noodles dishes to be accompanied with a set of seasoning like you would get in Thai street food without having to ask the waitress the food was ok, noting special but it took so long for the order to come. would not visit again.

"One shot review" FOOD: too delicious! We had a green and a red curry; the dishes are served with rice. Additionally, we had an appetizer, the Thai spicy satay. Super tasty chicken and sauce, though not very spicy in my opinion. It was delicious with the Sriracha sauce we asked for. I think it was the best Thai food I have ever tasted. SERVICE: top waitresses; I didn't even have to say which dish or drink was mine. Fast and friendly. The only minor point is that they could be just a little sharper with people approaching them for questions or to order. ATMOSPHERE: SUPER FUN! There could be some improvements to the design here and there, but if you pay attention to the details overall, it really gives a Thai street market feel.

The food was cold when it arrived. I paid in cash, and the delivery person left without taking any money. The food wasn't even tasty, and four hours later they came back to demand money. Poor service.

Do not order from this restaurant if you want to spend your whole evening waiting for the food arrive and have to listen to lies from the service that your food is "out for delivery." Shameful establishment and they ought to improve if they expect to stay in business.

Food is tasty. Although it can depend on which day you're here on how well the dishes are made. Restaurant is very crammed and noise level is high, it does have a true Thai vibe. Waiters are usually young people and try their best, but sometimes you need to wait a long time. Very weird that each time I've visited either their pin machine is 'broken' or like this time I was encouraged to pay cash 'to have cash for their delivery guys'. Like which person in 2026 still pays cash for deliveries... Very fishy this.

Don't order here! I placed an order at 6:30 and didn't receive it until 10:30. I contacted them frequently, and they really said they would deliver it ASAP... I wish I'd read the reviews sooner.

Twice now, we've made reservations and even gone to the restaurant, only to find it closed upon arrival. A waste of time and effort. We used to eat here often, but this time we're going somewhere else.

We booked this place via The Fork for the dinner on December 31st. When arrived there, the restaurant was closed. We had to go to a random fast-food as everything else was booked.

The food is delicious, but they're lying. I ordered tom yum with seafood and shrimp. The menu said extra shrimp was 1.50 euros, but they added 6 euros to my bill. It came with two pieces of squid and two shrimp. If I hadn't paid extra, would they have brought me the water itself?

I ordered last Monday (November 24, 2025), and the delivery took two hours, while they expected it to be within one hour. I called twice and, with much effort, finally got a €10 refund. That's fine by me, but I'm still giving it one star because the gentleman from Soi3 had the conversation with me and then disrespectfully cut me off. I'm sorry there's a dissatisfied customer, but a little respect and courtesy would be nice. The food was also mediocre.

Don't order delivery. I've been waiting 2 hours and 15 minutes already, called three times, and now I'm told the cook hadn't even started it yet (the second time I called, they said it was on its way). Dine in or order takeout, you'll get it sooner.

This place has really gone downhill. It used to be great. Now it's terrible. The delivery hasn't arrived within 2.5 hours yet again, and they don't even answer the phone. I understand it's a Saturday night and therefore busy, but this is ridiculous. My order still hasn't arrived. Last time I'll order/eat anything.

A tip for you: skip that delivery service. Waiting 2.5 hours for your food is not okay. And no, this isn't unusual, it's more the norm.

The spicy papaya salad is megaaaa delicious! And the Tom ka khai too! The food arrived quickly and the man who brought it was very friendly (was he their own delivery driver/owner?). I really wish entrepreneurs like this all the best! I'm going to order more often✨

We had the worst experience here. The food is good but the service is really bad and it made our evening with our group not so nice. Long waiting time for food and also they say you cannot pay with card and ask to pay with cash but then you say you don’t have cash suddenly they do have a pin machine and will look at you like you are bothering them. So shady. Siriporn in Rotterdam would be a better choice.

Terrible late service that never arrived. Speaking to the restaurant was useless. On uber eats they committed 20 mins and I’m still waiting 2 hours later.

This was my first time visiting and it was the most nice, cozy place ever! I really wanted the Pad See Ew and they didn’t have that anymore- but instead they gave me a free extra drink to compensate without me asking for it! The server was really nice and talkative with everyone. You can see and feel a kind of family atmosphere, a real recommendation for a good night out with friends or family!

I ordered from SOI3 Rotterdam on 19 August and it was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Delivery took over 2 hours. One main dish was completely missing. The food was poor quality: beef was dry, soup tasted muddy and had shrimps with shells, guts, and legs still inside. Drinks were wrong. The taste wasn't even authentic. When I called to complain, I was told they would only give a partial refund for the missing item and to send a Tikkie request to a private number the manager gave me. I did, but was ignored afterwards and never received my money back. This is unprofessional, unsafe, and disrespectful to customers. Based on my real experience, I strongly warn others not to order here.

Ordered through Uber Eats with a delivery time slot. It wasn't delivered until almost an hour after the slot ended. Called twice and got a standard, nonsensical answer 👍🏼 45 minutes after the first "he just left the door" it arrived. The delivery driver was lovely and I don't think he could do much about it. The food was good, though (though the chicken portion with the pad thai was a bit meager). Maybe a little time management training for the kitchen 🤷🏼‍♀️

I've been waiting over two hours for an order. They answered the phone an hour ago. A story about a delivery driver who fell. It happens, we'll be there in half an hour (by which time you'll already be waiting over an hour and a half). Now I've been waiting two and a half hours, they've hung up the phone, and they're still not here. I don't even care how the food tastes; I would highly recommend against ordering from here.

Watch your belongings when there!!! Food is great, have always loved the place. However, when eating there yesterday, my phone got stolen by someone that just walked in begging for money!! Apparently it happened a little ofer a month ago too according to the owner! Making me question why you wouldn’t take more repercussions? Perhaps not have the door wide open and all the windows? Cameras? Or like warn your guests?? .. to top it off, not even a ‘ dinner is on us for the inconvenience while IN our restaurant’ .. Delicious food for a normal price

Delicious food and authentic flavors. The 'snacks' were excellent. Gamba Satay with coriander sauce and chicken satay. We also had a chicken dish with rice. (Kai med mumuang) really delicious! Service nice and fast. And ice cold beer from Asia!

For over 10+ year SOI3 is the only Thai deli at the “ChinaTown” of Rotterdam better known as the Westkruiskade . The ordered dishes is what I expected : eatable and satisfying . Is it real traditional Thaifood like in Bangkok or Chiangmai? No , it’s adjusted to the “western” Dutch taste , or as I would call it “tourist” taste . But ! compared to other Thai deli’s in Rotterdam like Huahin or Siriporn or Casa Thai etc. , SOI3 is the most reasonable !

Eaten here in the restaurant more often and it was always fine. The last few times we had it delivered (over 70 minutes waiting time with the time option 'asap', but it was a Friday, so understandable), and we noticed that the portions are getting smaller and smaller. Very economical.. while it is really not cheap (almost 20,- per dish). At other restaurants you really get more value for your money. When we were watching TV later on the couch and both thought something like 'I'm actually still quite hungry...' we knew that we unfortunately won't be ordering here again anytime soon :( The food was okay, but not super special or anything..

The food was good, not exceptional good but solid. The staff was very kind! However, only after we were done with food, the waiter told us we can’t pay with card. I think it’s very inconsiderate not to inform customers about it beforehand. It messed up the mood, especially because we were told it happened only todsy but I have found other reviews from weeks earlier saying the same thing happened.

Service turned from weird to bad.. staff was blunt and inexperienced. They didn’t tell untill we tried to pay that their card system was broken. So had to walk 10 minutes to get cash. Did not get compensated in any way.
