Had Bara with soy chicken and loaded fries with fried chicken and it was really delicious. Good portions, fast delivery and the homemade piri piri mayonnaise is brilliant.

Just ordered 2 roti rolls. Had to wait almost 2 hours. Then I noticed when I took a bite that there was almost no chicken in it. A roti roll only has potatoes and minimal chicken. Money gone and time gone. After 5 bites everything was thrown away.

There was a small error with the order, they were very customer friendly and resolved it immediately, I even received a small surprise. Delivery was great, cheerful and fast. And the food was very tender. Can definitely recommend it!

This place does not deserve the bad reviews. I got my food delivered in 30 minutes, and the chicken was really tender, juicy, well seasoned, and fell of the bone. The fries were also very crispy and tasty

It was one of the most satisfying places i’ve ever eaten. The food was amazing and we couldn't stop ordering cause it got better and better. The staff was super friendly and we desperately need to get there again... Thoses bara's wount leave my mind...

Got the red roast chicken and asked for potatoes instead of rice, was delicious, felt like a proper homemade meal. Very reasonably priced for portion size, staff and chef super nice. Would recommend

In a word, terrible. The food was awful, the service was terrible, and you had to wait two hours for your food. When you call, they claim it's almost ready, but you can still wait another hour. This was my first and last time.

Google says it's open at 3:00 PM, but if I go there, I can't get food until 4:00 PM. Could you please adjust the opening hours?

The food is usually always good, and so is the service! I order food from here often. But today I ordered €41 worth of food that was incredibly salty! There was no way to discuss this, and we had to throw everything away immediately. This was terrible service!

The food was decent. After waiting two hours, it finally arrived, even though it was supposed to be there in 30 minutes. The fries were soggy, but the meat was decent. It's a shame it took two hours.

The food was terrible, the fries were cold and limp, the food was wet, the delivery person was nice, but it took a very long time.

It's been years since I've had Surinamese food. The previous store I ordered from has been closed for a while. This was a pleasant surprise. Deliciously fresh roti and a generous portion. Definitely worth repeating.

The food was never delivered, and when I contacted them, the person in question indicated it had been delivered. Very strange, and the man was anything but approachable, professional, and solution-oriented. I'll go back tomorrow daytime to complain and get my money back.

Unfortunately, it did have potential. I could sometimes order delicious pom with chicken. However, the quality is extremely variable, the delivery times are very long, and they constantly change their opening hours, sometimes closing for a whole week without explanation. Sometimes the food is truly awful, even though it's quite expensive. So, unfortunately, I don't recommend it. Edit: 11-10-2024 - I thought I'd try again. It was a Friday at 7:00 PM, but according to Google, it's open until 9:30 PM. Nope, we went home early. I don't think I'm in the mood tonight. I have absolutely no idea how you can run a business like that.

Ordered yesterday and after 23 hours it has not yet arrived, so I went somewhere else yesterday out of necessity When you drive past the store, they are eating out of their noses, so quietly there And then you have to wait for an hour and a half. They think, ooh, that's also possible later. I'd rather sit and do nothing and make customers wait unnecessarily. There's a lot of other things in the city. Oh, and when you call, they're suddenly there 15 minutes later 🤔

We have been in Crete for a few days now. In the few days we have been staying here and traveling around, I can for sure say this was the best food I had so far! While traveling and looking for a place to eat we found this gem of a place. The food was amazing, it was very delicious and you could definitely taste the soul in it. The service was amazing and the servers where so kind and sincere. It had a very home like vibe, and the sweet dog is also a big plus :) I can honestly say, if you are a tourist, I recommend coming to this place for amazing, traditional and MANY options of food!

We always order the Roti curry chicken and it is always super tasty. I also love the saoto soup. This time they forgot the roti plates and the owner delivered them in no time. Super food and service!

Ordered at two different places in Groningen. Delivery was nice and fast! We ate roti roll, saoto soup, stuffed baras, loaded fries, pieces of chicken and fried banana. It was all super tasty. I often order here on my own, and I often find it cheaper at this place than at others (among other things due to the low minimum order quantity). My favorite tent to order from❤️

I ordered from the store itself! Upon entering there is a nice atmosphere, humor and you immediately feel welcome. After ordering I hardly had to wait until my food was ready. Food is delicious! I'm on it now, definitely recommended and will definitely come back!

Terrible, what a mockery! This is just earth, vegetables, chicken thigh with some maggie cubes. No rotti taste at all! Once and never again! There is only 1 place where you can get the best roti, unfortunately it was closed for a few weeks and I looked for a temporary solution but alas!

Been ordering here regularly for a few years, 1-2x a month. Always fast delivery in the past, but lately regularly late, this time 45 minutes while we had already ordered an hour and a half before delivery time. Can't apologize from on the phone

De bezorger was er snel en had een blije glimlach die ze als anti-depressiva in een potje zouden kunnen stoppen. 💊😃 Het eten was lekker. Maar de domper op de smaak was dat het broodje ontzettend zompig was en de vulling in de soep karig(met name de groenten). Zeker gezien de prijs had dat beter gemogen.

Kwam vlak voor sluitingstijd langs, werd supergoed geholpen en iedereen was superaardig. Daarna was het eten ook nog superlekker!

S/o naar Shakira en haar vriend, snelle bezorging goeie keuken en vooral lekker gegeten 🫱🏽‍🫲🏼 goeie zaak met een leuke sfeer op de werkvloer

Het eten is zeker een aanrader maar dat is niet waarom ik deze review wou schrijven. Ik was een beetje moe en sjacherijnig en toen kwam de bezorger met zo'n goeie sfeer en en enorme lach op zijn gezicht dat dat mijn dag al beter maakte. Het eten is lekker maar de service fantastisch.

Got a meal for takeaway without vegetables and there was just too many rice and too little protein for that much rice. Taste was just okay.

Eten hier besteld, de nasi was teleurstellend leek gewoon op een nasi met kruiden van knorr. Overigens was de rijst hard, dus niet eens gaar. Soya kip had amper soya smaak, rijst was heel papperig, teleurstellend! Als Surinamer kan ik je zeggen dat dit echt niks weg heeft van dr Surinaamse keuken.

Plenty of food, good prices and delicious. Definitely one of the best places in Groningen to get soul food!

Het was mijn eerste bestelling bij Soul food mama, helaas ook gelijk de laatste. De rotiplaat was opgewarmd in de magnetron en daardoor hard en taai geworden. Alles zit bij elkaar in een bakje. En ik vond dat er weinig kouseband in zat ,die ik er extra bij had besteld. Ook zat er niet echt veel smaak aan..Jammer

Heerlijk zelfgemaakte roti in tegenstelling tot andere toko’s die kant en klare platen opwarmen. Heerlijke kruiden en wat een leuke familie

So, I ordered roti. The meat consisted of pure tendon and other non-chewable parts of meat. Great, 12+ euros down the drain, doesn’t come with green beans either btw, which is weird. Perhaps their other food is great tho, let’s hope.

De lange wachttijd (1:15) en de koude patat deed mij vermoeden dat ik het laatste adresje was van de bezorger. Jammer en balen. Heb zelfs gebeld. Ook ontbrak de aioli saus.

Nog nooit teleurgesteld. Heerlijk eten, goeie porties en vriendelijke eigenaar en personeel!

Bel je met een kleine klacht over de grote van de portie wordt dit zeer netjes opgelost. Zelfs na sluitingstijd komt de eigenaar zelf persoonlijk een nieuw portie heerlijk eten naleveren. Dit noem ik nog eens service!!! Dankjewel tot de volgende keer toppers1🤗👌

Ik ben altijd wel tevreden. Bowl is goed gevuld, zowel het vlees als de andere ingredienten en heerlijk. Over het algemeen snel geleverd en boven alles, het komt kokend heet aan.

Ik heb rijst met curry kip besteld. Het was heerlijk. Ik denk om weer te bestellen.

Het was heerlijk comfortfood tegen een goede prijs. Mooie en strakke uitstraling. Dacht dat het een keten was, maar dat was het niet.

Bezorging was weer top!! Ze zijn snel, lekker en vriendelijk. Zeker een aanrader op een brakke zondag

Die roti is echt heerlijk - wel de ons Hollanders onbekende sambal azijn erover doen, al is t maar een paar druppels. Smaakexplosie!!!
