As a solo traveler, I was hesitant to dine in because I was worried about the portion sizes, but I really wanted to eat something healthy and warm that featured vegetables! That's when I stumbled upon this place. I'm Japanese, and I apologize for not being fluent in English or Dutch, but the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. They gave me a generous portion of soup, and above all, it tasted delicious and really energized me! You can enjoy a soup that truly brings out the flavor of the vegetables. The bread, which I think was homemade, was also very tasty. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Always nice to have a comforting soup with soup enzo. Today the lentil soup with minced meat. It was a great soup but could have used some more spices to add some extra flavour. The terrace outside is in the shade and lovely to have a relaxing lunch. Unwound advice to wear language buttons so it is clear which languages are spoken. The staff only speaks English, which is nice to know before stating the order.

Lovely and delicious! Tried their tomato soup with paprika quiche, hummus and a baguette, extremely delicious! They have a few toppings to choose from to have at your soup. The place is close to the museums and city centre so it's good for anyone who's exploring the city and wants a delicious warm meal! Sadly was there at the end of the day and missed some other yummy options, will have to return to try some more 😊

I ordered the small size Light Chicken Soup for a simple brunch. The staff member was very friendly, which was nice. I also liked that I could taste the soup several times before ordering. I really enjoyed the hot, piping hot soup that tasted just like Samgyetang! My companions ordered the famous Pumpkin Soup. I didn't try it because the spice flavor was too strong, but everyone else was satisfied :)

I stopped by for breakfast and was genuinely impressed by the quality of the ingredients and the freshness of the meal. The flavors were spot on, and you can tell everything is prepared with care. Additionally, the staff was remarkably friendly and the service was efficient from start to finish. The atmosphere is pleasant and well-maintained, providing a great vibe for a morning visit. While it was a very positive experience overall, there is still a tiny bit of room for improvement to reach that perfect 5-star feel, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the Van Baerle area looking for a nutritious and tasty bite. I'll be coming back to try their famous soups next time!

had a medium soup and a salad bowl. very fulfilling. The soup was nice but a bit bland, stupidly “fixed” it by putting tabasco 😭 don’t be like me. tabasco is too sour for these kind of food. would have rated 5* if the whole meal wasn’t cost €22 mind you the soup was only €7

Found this place by googling “soup” around Amsterdam and loved it so much that I came back the next day. From now on, every time I visit Amsterdam, I’ll be going there for soup

I spontaneously popped into Soup en Zo, and to be honest, the soup was surprisingly delicious. It tasted great, was fresh, and clearly prepared with care. The service was also friendly and prompt, which made the first impression absolutely positive. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. The seating area is very sparsely furnished and lacks atmosphere. It feels bare and uninviting, making you feel less inclined to linger. Furthermore, the place looks cluttered and poorly organized, which detracts from the otherwise excellent quality of the food. With a little more attention to the decor and ambiance, this could be a truly top-notch restaurant. Currently, it's stuck at "nice, but not a pleasant place to sit."

Excellent cream soups, great salads, the lemon cake was also super delicious. Everything is healthy, perfect for vegetarians and vegans, especially if you enjoy a simple, no fuss vibe.

Take out. Ran out of large lids so they divided it into several medium. 😊Food was good. At the time I thought it was expensive, but after spending a few days in Amsterdam I realized everything is expensive and the prices are reasonable.

The spinach soup with coconut milk is delicious, a little spicy but totally delicious.

My first time there. I go inside and look at the menu (on the wall). The lady comes to me and I tell her "give me a min " but she is just standing and staring at me making me unforttobable . So I ask a questions and she is answering it very reluctently and then I order xl chicken soup for take out. She quickly pour soup inside the container and give it to me and charge me 16.75 euro and leaves (back to kitchen). I call her and say "oh btw are these shredded vegetable etc optional that you did not offer me" she quickly gives me a little of it without asking "do you want any other thing" leaves again. I leave and get home and realize the xl container is hardly enough for 1 person but they had adverized it "for 2-3 people". The bottom of container is hollow (2 cm) and the top is not filled (3 cm) while the container itself is very small . My child says we had similar soup two days ago in another place exactly half price. It came with lots of optional ingredients and bread and apple ... And even the soup was 1.5 times more and more delicious ... What the hell... What a disgusting experience ... From the staff that hated her job to most expensive soup of my life to getting diareia after having soup ... What a disgusting experience .... beware like a plaque ... Great place! There were 7-9 soups to choose from, both vegetarian and meaty. It's worth coming here! The dishes are filling, cater to a variety of tastes, and the prices are reasonable. You can also order takeout. I had the impression that soups are hard to find in the Netherlands, but here they had a wonderful selection. Thank you!

Glorious salads, some of the best I’ve had from a salad bar. The owner (I think) is very welcoming and energetic and you oddly have the feeling you’re taken care of and the day’s gonna be okay! Reasonably priced too I’d say.

The bad news is that they can actually run out of soup. The good news is that you realize it's not some factory of liters of pre made cheap soup sitting in the freezer. I always love the lentil soup, but considering which other soups were sold out the most be tasty as well. Some basic seating, but enjoyed sitting streetside.

For instance last Wednesday No smile Not friendly We are usually coming every day including weekends and we see a big difference in the teams ! Tasty food and very friendly service. The variety of options is impressive and everything we had was very flavourful. As this was our first time we needed a little guidance from the staff which they happily provided. Soups come in varying sizes and vegetables are sold by weight. We’ll be back again to try more options.

Found the soup to be average. Vibe is pretentious and snooty, but guess it’s as expected for this part of Amsterdam.

The atmosphere of the place is not encouraging - we received the soup cold, the staff warmed it up at our request, the soup was ok, but nothing special.

ULove this place. It’s very rare to find a place where you can eat good organic food. You can see a lot of attention goes into the sourcing of fresh ingredients. The staff is friendly, the soups and salads are delicious. Edit on the 7th of October : is the spinach soup coming back? We all miss it and we’d love to see it back.

Want some veggies while in Amsterdam - and at a reasonable price? Soup En Zo is the place to go. They have multiple locations downtown and near Museumplein. Delicious soups (many Vegan or Vegetarian), salads and small specials (e.g. mini-quiche). Highly recommend it for lunch.

Fantastic healthy food option near Vondelpark & Amsterdam Zuid. After many days of bread, frites and meat while traveling, my husband and I were craving healthy food and this place was perfect. I had a delicious sweet potato soup with coconut and my husband had a mushroom soup and we also split a large mixed salad made of lentils, broccoli, hummus and eggplant. Highly recommend to any tourist who is craving a healthy and tasty casual food option!

Charming corner spot with delicious soups and salads for in-house dining or take away. I had a wonderful Surinam coconut and chicken soup and a lovely salad of couscous, tomatoes, and broccoli with homemade hummus and fresh bread. A great deal, quick in and out, and friendly staff.

I went here to grab a quick salad. While I was waiting to be helped, 2 ladies behind the counter were chatting. One was kind to help me but the other one went to the salad bar, picked some vegetables with her hand (without gloves) and walked away to have her lunch. When I made a comment about this to the girl who was helping me, she mentioned that her colleague works there and is allowed to eat from the salad bar. My point was obviously about hygiene which she didn’t understand.

The soups are really basic and unfortunately the salads remind me more of antipasti. I wish it was a bit more of what the name suggests. Either a proper focus on a soup soup or on the salads but I felt like having none of both worlds there.

If I could give zero stars I would. Came for some “Holland Chicken Soup” which was basically a bowl of hot water and some shredded chicken. 14,40 euros for two tiny “medium” bowls with an ‘ambience’ that is seriously lackluster and by that I mean the service was so preoccupied with themselves and a friend that was talking so loudly it could be considered screaming about her sex life. I will NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. Two summer’s ago this place was great. Not anymore. You’ll leave hungry and feeling robbed.
