Had a delicious meal at a Balkan restaurant in Oosterwolde. Small restaurant but atmospheric ambiance, friendly and hospitable people. Started with fresh baguette with herb butter and a delicious tomato soup. I was able to eat my fill of the Gyros, and the Çevapi for my wife was also wonderfully tender. The side dishes were also delicious and more than sufficient. Dessert: tiramisu was not on the menu but was served anyway! 😋 In short, we will definitely be back here again.

I would suggest that you make a reservation. When we got there it wasn't hard to get a seat but was pretty full when we left.

What a fantastic restaurant! We are on vacation in the area and found this restaurant. We had a delicious meal! Friendly service. The ladies in the kitchen are true culinary queens! If you want to eat really well, make a reservation here. Highly recommended. 👍

I ate at their place. Due to a medical condition, I can only eat very small portions. I find it very difficult—also for the chef—when I leave a lot behind because I can't finish it. When I mentioned this, I received a small portion and the price was also halved. The food was fantastic and they were very helpful; I ate everything up with great enthusiasm. Perfectly prepared food, large portions, delicious flavors. The service is very friendly. We dined à la carte with 15 people and everything was served at the same time. The menu was just right, with a bit of everything. Highly recommended!

A starter consisting of a tomato, a few slices of cucumber, two pieces of baguette with a boiled egg on top, two pieces of baguette with a slice of bacon, a few olives, and finally, four fried fish rings, which I think were made of fish, because the flavor was indistinguishable. This should have been for two people, for over 30 euros! I should point out that the menu says "chef's fantasy." You might expect a little more respect; the customer isn't stupid. The price of drinks is very high compared to other restaurants. Once and never again!

Restaurant Balkan is housed in a beautiful old building. The aroma of food outside draws you in. It feels like stepping into a rustic 1970s restaurant, yet it's completely fresh and contemporary. Lovely booths and alcoves. Most importantly, however, is the absolutely delicious food and the friendly service. The ladies in the kitchen can cook! The service, including that of the owner, is very friendly and professional. Reservations are recommended, although we were seated within 20 minutes. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Restaurant Balkan is a gem among the restaurants in Oosterwolde (Fr.). Almost 'hidden' between other buildings. And yet, it is the place where you will love to sit down at the table; because oh, the food is delicious! The menu doesn't run to 16 pages, thankfully; the dishes on it are sufficient to make a tasty choice. Whether you are a meat-eater or a vegetarian, there is a choice for both preferences. The serving staff is friendly and professional. The ladies in the kitchen are pure gold💫 The restaurant consists of 3 cozy rooms, making it suitable for dining with a (not too large) group.

Nice place but not cheap either. When i mentioned with check-out they forgot the chocolate sauce on my dame blanche they told me i should have said so… which is true but i was surprise no mention or apologies they forgot in the first place.

Very pleasant to eat. At the front there is a nice cozy restaurant, a friendly girl serving. Food was very tasty. Delicious tender pork stew. Butterfish was tasty grilled firm fish. In short, great! If we are in the area again we will definitely eat there again.

I normally never bother to write a review, but I would like to make an exception for restaurant Balkan in Oosterwolde, this restaurant deserves it. Yesterday I had dinner there with my family and what a surprise it was. My work takes me to many places in the Netherlands and I regularly eat out. I am also often in Bosnia and other Balkan countries, so I know what it should taste like there. Well, this was really spot on. The food was great: everything fresh, tasty and exactly as I know it from there. You notice that there is attention and love in it. From the meat to the side dishes, everything was just right. The atmosphere was also really good. The interior feels like you are walking into a restaurant in Serbia, warm details, nice decoration and music from the region. The staff was also friendly and welcoming, just as you would hope. We finished with delicious desserts and a warm slivovica and kruskova. A perfect end to a very nice evening. For me, this is without a doubt one of the best Balkan restaurants in the Netherlands. Highly recommended!!

What a nice restaurant! It already smells good from the street. Everything is freshly made, you can taste it. Homemade dishes for a fair price. Really delicious food, stress of choice! because there are so many delicious things on the menu. Staff is friendly and attentive, not a moment without a drink. Furthermore, it is simply nicely decorated and clean. Highly recommended!!!

Too expensive for what you get and waiting too long for the food ordered. And when it does arrive it is disappointing, the meat from the Tara pot is in three large pieces in the pan and is not tender but dry so that you end up chewing on a bland piece of meat for a long time. Salad is nothing more than tomato pieces with some cucumber pieces. Potato wedges are dry and tasteless. It's a shame that the top prize is being asked for this, as it was much better a few years ago. I also didn't feel like I was a wanted guest. Won't come back here again.

Delicious food in this restaurant. From a nostalgic point of view, I ate cevapcici again and it was just as tasty as I remembered. The service was well taken care of by a young lady. In the open kitchen two ladies were visibly preparing the most delicious meals. I find the ambiance a bit less attractive. The restaurant is located in an old farmhouse with the interior design of a retirement home. The music system also left something to be desired, the band dragged and felt silent several times. But that's a shame, the food is delicious so we will definitely come back!

Had a really delicious meal here tonight. We had the mixed grill and the skewer twice. Both dishes very tasty. The meat is wonderfully seasoned and perfectly cooked. The side dishes are also very tasty. Homemade coleslaw and you also get 2 different sauces. The prices are also fine. The average price for a main course is around 24 euros. The dog was also allowed to come along, so that was very nice. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is very cozy. You really feel like you're in another country. Highly recommended!

Bread in advance. 4 cold slices of bread. Fried potatoes that just come out of the fryer. Well, a little bit of iceberg lettuce. Half glasses of coke not even served from a bottle. A satisfied customer comes again. When you skimp on everything.

Excellent controls. Food also fine. Not cheap for a Balkan. As a starter we ordered a baguette with 3 spreads, excellent quality, but 4 slices of bread, very poor in the amount of spreads. There will probably be more complaints about this because the waitress already indicated when ordering that it was 4 slices :-) If you are going to do this, make a reservation and ask for a spot in the shop! The back of the store is very dated! And just unpleasant. And there is quite a smell of smoke. In short, you can eat there once, but make sure you sit at the front.

It was delicious again. The sablja(meat on a sabre) was very tasty and amusing. The slices of bacon were a particular favorite among the group. The tara pot is definitely recommended. Every time we come someone orders it, fantastic.

The entire restaurant was empty at 5 o'clock in the afternoon and it was not possible to have a drink alone. It seems to me that within an hour the entire restaurant will be full of diners.

We often eat in big cities, but this is a great Balkan with very tasty food and good service. The only point was that the salad could be placed together with the meat in 1 plate instead of separately. Looked a bit empty like that. But otherwise I can recommend anyone who lives near Oosterwolde to eat here👍

De ribeye en de ossenhaas kan je beter bij de jumbo kopen die zijn lekkerder dan hier veel te door gebakken en droog zonde van het vlees de groente en salade uit blik of pak zeker niet vers gewoon een tegenvallende avond in dit restaurant

We have never had such bad food, we had lamb steak that was so tough that the knife wouldn't even go through it, let alone your teeth, we left the building without eating, but we had to pay the full price.

We have been for a short holiday in Friesland we tried to eat there. First afternoon I tried to book a table for 4 persons via telephone, but the owner told us that he is fully booked and hung up. Next afternoon I went to the restaurant to book a table for the evening. The owner interrupted the waitress and told me he has no table for me. Not guest friendly and not to be recommended.

Op de kaart staat dat eten geserveerd word met gebakken aardappelen en rijst en salade. Dan bestel je eten en je krijgt een vingerhoed coleslaw en gefrituurde wedges. Dat is niet wat op de kaart staat. Dus 20 euro voor taai uitgedroogd vies vlees met saus. En de rest vind ik de prijs kwaliteit verhouding ver beneden peil. heb een voorgerecht gehad van Servische salade. Heb niet kunnen ontdekken wat daar Servisch aan is. Komkommer tomaat etc met geraspte feta en veel rode ui. Als je denkt dat je er lekker veel kan eten voor weinig geld kom je bedrogen uit.

Heerlijk gegeten, uitstekende bediening en een gezellige ongedwongen sfeer.

Prima gegeten. Leuk ingericht restaurant. Straalt rust en kundigheid uit. Porties eten zijn in juiste grote.

Jaren geleden een prima restaurant met een kaart waar gerechten op stonden uit diverse landen. Nu alleen een bord vlees die weinig variatie in smaak kent, een kommetje aardappelen en een heel klein schaaltje koolsalade. Wil je extra saus, salade of aardappeltjes bestellen, moet je bijbetalen. Het maakt het allemaal heel prijzig t.o.v de kwaliteit. Wij zijn wel klaar met dit restaurant.

Niet passend om hier te plaatsen. Maar sfeer kon iets beter.

Afgelopen zaterdag zijn wij erweer geweest. Het eten is er altijd goed. Nu wel een verschil vergeleken bij al de vorige x. Het was was aan de koude kant om er te zitten en jammer dat je nu de extra bestelde aardappels nu extra moet bij bij betalen. Voor de rest prima daar.

In dit restaurant kun lekker eten en de sfeer is erg goed. De service is meer dan prima

Hier kan je echt heel goed eten. Zeer traditioneel en een goed bord eten. De getechten zijn divers en alle stuk voor stuk erg smakelijk De sfeer is ongedwongen en met het zicht op de keuken zie dat alle producten vers bereid worden door de kok die we al jaren hier aan het werk zijn. Enige verbeterpunt is de koffie. Met een goed kop is het zeker 5 sterren waard. Ik raad u aan dit restaurant eens te bezoeken en zelf te oordelen

Klein restaurant met een gemoedelijke sfeer. De inrichting is gedateerd. Het eten is prima en de porties zijn goed. Je wordt niet verrast met de verschillende menu's. Maar is dat erg? Wij vonden van niet. Voor herhaling vatbaar.

Vriendelijk personeel, goed eten in een leuke ambiance en dessertkaart waar vele restaurants een "puntje aan kunnen zuigen"

Niet geschikt voor glutenvrij dieet. Salade glutenvrij serveren met stokbrood er tegenaan. En geen enkele saus glutenvrij verkrijgbaar.

Echt een sfeer waar je je prettig bij voelt, met een hele fijne keuken en personeel dat aandacht heeft voor de klant.

Klein restaurant met vriendelijke eigenaar, op de kaart uiteraard veel grillgerechten en de mijne kip met varkenshaas was een beetje droog, sausjes die daarbij hoorden voegden niet veel toe. Het vleespotje was erg lekker. De koolsla hoort zo bij de Balkan keuken.

Das Restaurant ist eigentlich nur anhand der Karte vor der Eingangstür als solches zu identifizieren. Wenn man es aber gefunden hat, sollte man auf jeden Fall eintreten. Wer auf das typische Balkan-Essen steht, kann hier nichts falsch machen. Auch der Service war sehr aufmerksam und hat sich regelmäßig um uns gekümmert!
