Perfect for high tea. The gluten-free version was also truly delicious. Constant refills of the tea water and a very cozy restaurant. Definitely recommended.

A lovely, cozy place with a separate event hall for parties. We didn't have dinner, but we did enjoy plenty of delicious snacks. Friendly, helpful, and attentive service.

I dined with three people at Purmerend's most famous city cafe/restaurant last Friday. Reservations are indeed essential due to crowds. We had a table right in the middle of the restaurant. Better than if we had a reservation! The service was quick and very good (a young, experienced waitress). We had drinks beforehand: good wine and prosecco. I could order a non-alcoholic beer (BoB). Dinner was excellent. The veal steak was tender and medium-rare. Delicious. We ordered dessert as recommended by the staff. Also delicious. Of course, coffee afterward. We were able to chat for a bit (we weren't rushed). The price/quality ratio is excellent. Frans (host/owner), thank you. It was nice to chat with you again and see you soon. We'll definitely be back.

Today I dined at Spijkerman with a large group. The beef was more raw than pink. The fries and potatoes were served quickly. When the food was finished, the vegetables didn't arrive until everyone had already finished. I wouldn't eat here again anytime soon. They did say there had been a mistake in the kitchen, but no apology or discount on the bill.

Always a treat to eat here. Great quality and ambiance with a good bar.

A nice restaurant by the canal. We had some salads and drinks - all was quite good! Do not rush and come here - you may have some chill time and nice beverages. But it naturally takes time to get your order 😉

Really bizarre. Chicken satay from the fryer and then asking €21.50 for a dish, fried potatoes were also from the fryer, furthermore the goat cheese was a kind of bamischijf? and the soup and carpaccio incredibly bland. Furthermore it took 15+ minutes before we got our first drink and taking an order took fifteen minutes. Atmosphere was nice, but really ridiculous prices for what you got in return.

Lovely restaurant, nice calm atmosphere and relaxed vibe, i ordered a pancake with bacon cheese and mushrooms, coffee and a fresh orange juice, the orange juice came in a small glass i would have liked a bit more. Not very busy as the weather was a bit rough today, lots of wind and typical Dutch weather. If the sun is out there is a nice size terrace to reside. The menu offers a variety of lunch articles and for drinks there are ample drinks available.

Beautiful place with nice and clean terrace on the quay of the lock in the North Holland Canal. Smooth and personal service and the goat cheese salad is recommended.

The food was great and had a reasonable price, but I found the service kind of "lazy": no tablecloth, no breadbasket and being asked what I wanted to drink without giving me a menu. Come on, it doesn't take much!

A city café where you can relax. Delicious food, quick service, attractively decorated inside and outside, if the weather permits, a lovely sunny terrace at the lock in the North Holland Canal.

Voorkeur plaats aan raam tijdens reservering door fout bediening NIET gehonoreerd. Er zaten al anderen op onze plek bij het raam kanaalzijde... Camiel/bediening verontschuldigde zich voor hun fout. Bood andere tafel aan midden in een druk gangpad, geweigerd. Uiteindelijk zelf prima plek uitgekozen. Behoorlijk menu uitgebreide kaart. Tijdens opname onze bestelling 2x ossenhaas met 1x garnituur frites & salade en 1x gebakken aardappeltjes & groente adviseerde Camiel ons de keuze te versimpelen. De porties werden nooit volledig opgegeten en het was 'zonde' om al dat voedsel weg te gooien. Verbouwereerd hebben we zijn advies opgevolgd. Het garnituur werd versimpeld tot 1x frites & 1x gebakken aardappeltjes & 1x salade hetgeen geheel is opgegeten. Het antiadvies nog NOOIT meegemaakt, nationaal of internationaal... De bestelde ossenhaas 'medium' bleek half 'well done' en half 'medium'... De kwaliteit was echter goed. Het slagarnituur was niet kraakvers maar toch redelijk smakelijk. Kaart 'nagerechten' qua keuze ijs zeer beperkt. De bestelde Dame Blanche was niet verrassend opgemaakt maar de smaak was goed. Het bosbessenijs bij de Tiramisu was heerlijk. (Te) lang wachten om als finale 2x koffie te bestellen duurde zo lang dat we rekening gevraagd hebben. Camiel was zichtbaar vermoeid... Het restaurant was overladen met gasten en daardoor z-e-e-r rumoerig, jammer...

Heerlijk gegeten! Ik ging voor het Neckerpoort menu. De ossenhaasbiefstuk was echt heel lekker. Je krijgt er naar keuze friet, gebakken aardappeltjes, sla, rabarber, witlof of daggroenten bij. Mijn vriend ging voor de sliptong. We zaten binnen waar het gezellig druk was. Buiten was een mooi terras maar het was iets te koud. De bediening was erg vriendelijk en we kregen snel ons drinken.

Mijn man en ik kwamen lunchen. Tevens wilden wij voor mijn man zijn verjaardag een feestje hier organiseren voor 50 personen. Wij gingen zitten, wachten , wachten ... Er was een personeel lid aan het praten met 2 mensen. Wij werden volkomen genegeerd. Na 10 minuten zijn wij weggegaan. Toen zei het personeel lid (nou ja). Waarop ik zie Bedankt voor de service. Waarop zij antwoordde niets te danken. Never nooit meer hier.

Met een grote wandelgroep hierheen. Onbegrijpelijk dat ongeveer gelijktijdig er ook al een andere groep aanwezig was. Het diner was matig maar de eigenaar gedroeg zich ronduit onbeschoft maar hij dacht grappig te zijn. Hier kom ik nooit meer. 👎👎

Just had 2 coffees and pastries. Went to pay 12 euros 30 cents. I say just pay 15 euros in cash. Then you expect thank you... When you get a 2.70 euro tip. Well, no, nothing and if I say anything about it, I'll say thank you. I'm done with it incredibly.

It's probably because of the crowds, but the soup won't burn your mouth. Sent it back to reheat, almost succeeded but it was delicious. Onion soup.

Afgelopen weekend vierde ik mijn verjaardag bij Spijkerman met een feestarrangement. De locatie , de hapjes, drankjes en de bediening, alles was helemaal perfect. Ook mijn gasten vonden het prima verzorgd. Er is 1 minpunt. Twee gasten waren ziek geworden, maar werden wel gerekend bij het afrekenen. Je moet nl doorgeven 1 dag van te voren hoeveel mensen er komen. Uitleg: er was ingekocht aan spullen. Gebak, wat hapjes en sateetje. Ik had er geen probleem mee, als dat bedrag, besteed aan die spullen, betaald moest worden. Het was 70 euro. De drank was toch al aanwezig? Als je gewoon komt eten, je hebt gereserveerd, maar je komt met 1 persoon minder, hoef je voor die persoon toch ook niet te betalen.

Country bread with a "boiled" egg and avocado with aged cheese. Boiled egg was ice cold, as was the avocado. Bread seemed old. Grated cheese from a bag. Everything really cold. Lost a lot of money. Really disappointing experience. Service was okay and friendly.

Delicious food, quality was very good. Atmosphere was cozy. Unfortunately we were put in a corner. Not a big deal in itself, but then you have to be served. It was very busy, so it didn't matter that it sometimes took a little longer. But in the meantime they came to the table next to us 3 times and we were still not helped. We ended up waiting half an hour for the bill, which was a shame.

Burrata salad is very simple, and without a bun. I think the burrata was a mozzarella, not soft on the inside. Large clumsy pieces of watery tomato... Especially with a vegetarian salad, a little attention to taste, layout and, for heaven's sake, a piece of bread. The price is almost the same as meat on the menu so come on, do your best!
