The Roast restaurant Purmerend in Wijk 01 Centrum

The Roast is a really great place, just what we need in Purmerend! Delicious food and great service! I'll definitely be back.

Because it was busy, I sat down on the terrace and ordered lunch. It wasn't going very smoothly. Then my order arrived, and half of the menu was missing. I asked if they could deliver it, and they said it would be delivered immediately. After 5 minutes, I asked again because my food was getting cold. The answer was: "It's on its way." Another 5 minutes later, still nothing. My food was cold by then, and I didn't expect it to be delivered. When I complained, they apologized, saying the chef was working alone, couldn't memorize the menu, and was very busy due to the hot weather. What a lousy excuse. I'll never be back. People would be better off going to Rooie Sien, Brasa, or Brasserie 1434. There, you get what you order, and if anything goes wrong, you're not fobbed off with lame excuses; it's handled properly.

You feel at home here. The menu is varied and very tasty. The service is very customer- and solution-oriented. Simply friendly!

What a lovely place! The place exudes a relaxed and homey atmosphere, with a pleasant decor and a good energy. You immediately feel welcome. I had a delicious meal here.

Been here twice, but both dinner - had to wait an incredibly long time - and lunch - the toast was quite overcooked - were very disappointing.

Had lunch at Roast on Sunday afternoon, the food was good but the service was not so... We saw 6 staff walking around, but we were not helped unless we approached staff ourselves. Tables around us also walked away because they were not helped. We had to wait 25 minutes for drinks and have to say that it is quite pricey

Extensive menu, Friendly staff Beautiful location

Last night I was sitting on the terrace with friends and we decided to order nachos. Unfortunately this was very disappointing. More than half of the dish consisted of melted cheese, with an overdose of jalapeños and only a handful of nachos themselves. The ratio was completely out of balance. It actually made me quite nauseous. really sorry about the experience.

Definitely not recommended. We had lunch via Social Deal, but we had to wait 1.5 hours for our food. Then we finally went because after asking twice we still didn't get anything. Very bad service!!

The Roast in Purmerend is a great place for a fun night out. The friendly staff makes you immediately feel welcome. . The oysters and sushi were of excellent quality, fresh and tasty including the wine. The restaurant has a warm and inviting ambiance, perfect for an evening with friends or family. Highly recommended for anyone who likes good sushi and a cozy atmosphere! 🍣🥂

Nice restaurant, food good, service good.

Decided on the spot to have something to eat. We had to wait an hour for the food to arrive and finally got a plate with some lettuce and cucumber. The staff was chatting happily and was too busy to bother with the customers. Very disappointing and not a pleasant experience here.

The restaurant seemed very promising via Instagram, but in reality it was disappointing for us. Staff talked more to each other instead of providing service. Our food did not arrive at the same time and the 'Thai salad' was meager. All in all meh

Unfortunately we did not have a pleasant experience here and the service was a major factor. Waited over an hour for the food to come and it didn't come at the same time. The first few received their food after an hour and the rest had to wait another half hour, very nice to eat like this. It was incredibly difficult to contact the person when you needed them and this was not because of the crowds, but because they were all chatting in a group. Quality of the food was also mediocre for what you paid. This is very unfortunate.

Really top restaurant with super tasty food and great service

Called quite last minute for a spot for 2 for Sushi Madness. Even though it was quite full, it was arranged! (thanks to Ellie) We had a delicious meal, the service was smooth and attentive. See you again soon.

Me and my wife had lunch there, we took variety if different things, the kip karage, kip gyoza, dragon roll sushi, and the rib eye steak with chimchiri and pepper sauce. All items were done to perfection. The food is really great, and it is not the second time, and we will definitely come again.

Went here recently with my family, and it was so incredibly mediocre that I felt bad for the animals that were slaughtered for this. When I shared this with the employees, I was helped quickly. In any case, the service is excellent.

Unfortunately we wanted to eat here, were received nicely but then we had to wait 20 minutes for our first drink. Hopefully they find competent waiters

Have been to this top eatery before. Today a sushi variation with 32 pieces. These are so delicious, with low-salt soy sauce. Then a dessert called Eton mess wow 🤩 that's delicious. BAD food. BAD service. Chicken BLT sanwich is a chicken burger with a slice of cheese, slice of tomato, slice of bacon and lots of mayonnaise. If you order Caesar salad without anchovies, I get 5 slices of anchovies. Service didn't ask anything like: “was everything to your liking?” So I gave feedback myself at checkout, but I didn't get the feeling that they actually did anything with it. NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic restaurant, a real hotspot in Purmerend. Sushi was so fresh, plates beautifully laid out. Cozy terrace. Absolutely great!

We sat down on this terrace for a pilsemanneke. We have half an hour!!!!!!!!! Waited for someone to come and take an order even though it wasn't busy. We didn't like Pils, it should have been Hertog, but we haven't found out what it was yet. After one juice, sit at the tasting room across the street.

What a surprise!!! Beautiful place, super nice staff and delicious food!! The cocktails are also delicious!! We will definitely come back!

Are you thinking of having a nice drink after your friends' graduation ceremony? That guy with the dark smooth hair could still take a course in kindness, because this behavior for someone who works in the service is actually rude! “Hey, please, I'm short on glasses,” to which a friend of mine says that he doesn't want that at all. “Aii not then, not my problem.” Not your problem? I think it's YOUR problem and you can tone it down a bit, kid. Then almost bumping into me with a tray, this can of course happen, but to then respond with “wezebi” I think is exceptionally strange! After paying, there was still 80 euros outstanding, we had not even left the terrace when a lady from the service came towards us, fuming and angry, with the words “I'm going to call the police, I don't know how you do this on other terraces.” but I think this is ridiculous!”. Well, great madam, then you will think so! But I don't know how you do that with other guests, but I find this downright ridiculous. In short, a course in friendliness for the staff would do you good. Lucky!

First time for us at The Roast. It was a great experience! Friendly staff! Relaxed atmosphere and fantastic food. Everything prepared with care and taste, with an Asian/Japanese touch. Every part of your plate has received attention, from starter to dessert. Highly recommended to eat here, in the nice center of Purmerend!

Had a delicious meal with my partner. The quality of the food was very good and the taste was truly excellent. Due to the crowds, we had to wait a little longer for the main course, but our hostess apologized for this (several times) and offered us a delicious glass of Merlot on the house in compensation. It was also nice that, despite the crowds, the hostess occasionally came by to see if everything was to our liking and to have a social chat with us. Had a nice evening. The quality of the wine and food made up for it all. Quite pricey, but unfortunately that is almost everywhere in the Netherlands these days. For the money spent on the (delicious) tournedos, they should have included free fries. Perhaps take an example from Ron's Gastrobar, which recognizes the problem in the Netherlands and has recently adjusted the menu. It has lowered prices to make eating out more affordable for all wallets. As mentioned, this is a general problem in the Netherlands, and not just at this restaurant. Anyway; delicious food and great service.

Asian is not a nice guy, I come in he stops me as if I have done something and even when we were done he immediately asked for the receipt, he didn't even give us the time. Bring that Moroccan man back he was the best!!!!!

Tonight I had a lovely meal on the cozy heated terrace with my bonus daughters. The food is sublime!! The service is incredibly friendly! They attach great importance to service! It is very cozy and the service is very attentive without being pushy! See you soon!

I am currently eating here and the quality of the food is super good, a bit of a shame that my mother-in-law's dish was forgotten and we had to wait a good 25 minutes, but they resolved the matter well.

As a couple who have always worked in the catering industry, we find the service great and very friendly, the food is excellent. In short, a mega restaurant 🤩 the pill, prawns and roasted duck were excellent, actually everything!

I had crispy duck which was a bit too crispy. I believe crispy duck should be crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.

Best Sushi around! So delicious that it is the only reason I come back to this restaurant more often. Service is super bad and not fair. I have often seen that friends of the employees receive food and drinks faster than other customers. Also, every time I come I have to wait at least an hour before I get the food.

Had a nice evening at The Roast! Sushi was very tasty. Nice presentation! We went on Monday when there is a promotion; sushi rolls for €10 each. Unfortunately, not all roles participate. The tastiest rolls in particular are excluded from this promotion ☹️ Furthermore, the cocktails were tasty and the sweet white wine was also great. The side dishes were simple, not very special. And the service was okay. We sat upstairs, sometimes there was no one we could speak to. That was a pity. All in all, a nice meal. Worth repeating, but only on Monday. Relatively pricey.

Today I had a drink and a bite to eat at Roast with my son. Prices are high and you expect something for that. Service was OK but not super attentive. I was sitting close to a passage for staff and unfortunately my seat was regularly bumped into. So it was placed too tight, because I wasn't sitting very comfortably. Food was OK, but for the price you honestly expect something better. For me, this was mainly due to the fact that Tournedos was served in strips, which leaves me unsure about the size of the piece of meat (costing 35 euros). The presentation was very nice, but that doesn't make me eat any better. All in all, you can find better locations in Purmerend for this price.

Very nice interior and big terrace outside. The staff are friendly but the service is a little slow, it took a while to get the menu (I had to specifically ask for one after a while) and order. The pokebowl with ebi fry was very good, the ingredients were all very fresh. It's a very pricey restaurant though, especially the prices of sushi rolls are the highest I've ever seen.

very busy on the Saturday before Easter, also on the terrace, nice weather! later found a free spot outside. happy! service person was attentive and quick to take order. enjoyed a rosé wine called laughing angel, delicious taste and on the very pricey side per glass. a glass of cava with a few floating blueberries in it. those are the details that make it. until next time!

Friendly servers. Other than the lighting being a bit dim to read the menu, atmosphere was good. I suppose they were going for a romantic mood.

Returning customer for a view years now. Always felt welcome and appreciated. Staff is very friendly, good quality food, not really a long wait, even when it's busy. Lovely designed two storey restaurant, big terrace and located centrally at the square.

Cozy tent on the cow market. You can sit inside and outside on the terrace. There are heaters to keep you nice and warm and they have delicious specialty beers.

Had a delicious meal this evening with my wife, who sincerely, and rightly, complimented the chef. Sushi was perfect, the nachos were very tasty, the Tournedos and the Rib eye were sublime and we couldn't resist the temptation to share a dessert from the menu that we also enjoyed. It is a more expensive meal than average, but it is certainly worth it. It's nice that a tent has been added to the cow market that offers such a culinary level. (And that it is open on Tuesday evenings.) The service was very friendly and attentive. The only point was that later in the evening the music was a bit loud, but otherwise we had a great evening and I recommend everyone to visit the roast.

Very disappointed! First of all, the restaurant is on the expensive side. The price-quality ratio is not in balance. Secondly, you have to wait a very long time until the service comes by to take your order and preparing the food also takes a very long time. We are told by the kitchen that they do not feel like adjusting the dish a bit to our liking. The reason they give is that they are busy, but only 2 tables are full and previously our dish was adjusted. Not customer focused at all and profit is the only thing they do their best for. 2 stars because the food actually tastes good.

The food is delicious, quite expensive, but that doesn't matter if the whole experience is good. Service and service nice but unfortunately very clumsy. I have had 5 different people at my table and that is why our order went wrong. We wait an hour for our food and not even a drink is available. And if I bring it up when paying, there is no response. Pity

Also sent back and only ate fries. Too bad that the voucher de Bavette had been counted on. Finally taken off the ticket. The Tournedos was good but way too expensive. The fries had to be ordered extra
