Sports & Media Bar in Schiphol

Been several times. Food always decent and tasty. Some members of the staff super nice, some rude. But overall experience is OK, good.

Bland food, uninspired and small selection, crazy overpriced and terrible service. Had to wait 50 minutes to get served drinks. Staff completely disinterested. Food is snackbar quality. This is all especially bad because when you're in the hotel, in the weekend, it's the only place that serves food for miles.

It’s the worse noodle I have ever taken in 30 year life. How come? The instant noodle for 2 euros at AH is even better than this ramen. It’s easy to get angry having a bad food when being hungry. Strongly recommend taking a Uber somewhere else if wanting a noodle.. Or buying some food at grocery store instead.

This sports bar is an extension to the Steigenberger Hotel AMS Schiphol Airport. I have been here many times over the years. Its an average sportsbar with a limited menu. And that is fine. This time my disappointment lie with the food i ordered...a cheese burger and some "standard" deep fried spring rolls. The spring rolls were Luke warm. Have a feeling they have been sitting for while in the kitchen. The big disappointment was the burger. And I know for a fact they can do better. It's called "black bun burger" at a fairly experience price. The buns are indeed black, they are actually so black that it looks like burnt toast (although its not actually burnt) and that's what your brain tells you when eating it. The crumbs look like what you would scrape off a burnt toast bread. Not appetizing at all. The beef patty was so so.... no real flavor and they mention in the menu it's grilled. I very much doubt that. No salty or peppery or spice flavor...just plain. Then sauce or something in the burger gave the flavor of seaweed like you would taste at a sushi restaurant. I'm sure there was not seaweed in it, but that's what I tasted. The veggies were gooey and not crisp at all... They were soft and rubbery.... I mean...the whole burger was one big disappointment and I left half of it on the plate. It's sad, because this place used to serve a great cheese/bacon burger, fresh veggies and full of flavor and appetizing to look at. Why change it..? Why fix something that wasn't broken....why the charcoal burger bull that makes the customer think he is eating burnt bread? Very very disappointed. Please remove this from the menu and bring back the old style burger. It's much better in every way.

love the sweet potato chips sooooo much. Roy was very patient and took the time to explain the menu to us. We really appreciate his excellent service!

The food is tasty and the portions are big enough for a full meal. The service is good and thenpeoplemworking there are friendly, and professional. They know the menu and very helpful in suggesting and pairing. Keep it up the good work

If you're staying nearby I would definitely recommend dining here. The food is great, the service is outstanding. Nice atmosphere, suited for both a more casual and quick dinner but also a little more romantic. Bit overpriced but hey we're still in Amsterdam 😀

We were staying at the hotel and out of curiosity we tried the restaurant where it was located. The food is good and the place is quite nice. The prices are quite high, especially the Jonny Red whisky at 12.50 euros without the coke, which gave me a bit of a sore throat!

Ordered a burger that arrived undercooked, and despite asking for it to be cooked more, it was still inedible. Staff was polite, but the kitchen fell short. Not worth the price . Way overpriced

I ordered the beef burger, but the meat was raw and impossible to chew. For £24, I expected a well-cooked meal. The staff's apology didn't help my hunger. Very disappointing experience.

As a restaurant in a Steigenberger hotel, honestly it was a joke. Very pricy, okay if the food quality would be according their pricing. Ordered Tacos (18€) mini portion and only tomato inside. Lucky, the service deleted it from the bill, but it doesn't help if you are still hungry. I like the hotel, great rooms and good service but the restaurant needs to improve. Please!

Ate outdoors in this visit. David was very personable & helpful. Got the Steigenberger with bacon. At the second bite was shocked to find very rare hamburger. Hard to swallow at the €24 price.

Stuck in a hotel far from everything, you need to count on the hotel restaurant. But no, first night, 1h waiting time, 3rd night, no food order taken because kitchen is overwhelmed. So we waited 1.5h for a delivery.

Good menu, good food, good location. Can be a little more creative if you are asked for a drink that is not on the menu but, as it turned out, the ingredients are present. A little too much "computer says no" idea.

I was able to enjoy a complimentary dinner buffet at the hotel restaurant where I stayed because I couldn't catch my connecting flight to Amsterdam.

Food really below par - super expensive

Bad service. The waiter was not even bothered to assist. Left after 20 minutes of not being helped. Not even a drinks order was taken. I would seek out other places to eat rather than to use this restaurant again.

Love their beer and fries. Slow service.

I’m a regular here and the service given by Angel is superb! He’s ultra friendly and funny 😊 Anything you need, he’s your guy 😉

If there's nothing else around and you don't mind paying a lot of money, it's perfect for dinner on your first day in the Netherlands.

Very expensive for small portions and you have to wait a long time for food and drink. Not recommended

My experience at the Sports and Media bar was phenomenal! Angel was a great server and was very polite and courteous! The beer and food was great! And they’re keeping up with the times with new servers!

If you two don’t dare sit at a table for six, even if the bar is 40% full, otherwise you will be kicked out, suddenly 6 people come and you’re there!

The hotel we were staying at was slightly in the middle of nowhere but luckily their own restaurant was excellent. As one might expect, prices were a little higher than normal but the staff treated us so nicely and the steak was unexpectedly one of the best I had ever eaten. The location is somewhat no frills but it is lovely because of the sports bar vibe and worth checking out, even if only for a drink.

Absolutely abysmal food. I had a overnight transit time and decided to crash at the Steigenberger Airport Hotel where this sports bar reside within. Ordered some wings and fennel soup to feed the weary traveller. Both were absolutely disappointing. The wings, were definitely store bought frozen wings where they just deep fried it to heat it up and slapped on generic bbq sauce on the side 🤨🤨. There was 0 effort to make and brand the wings as their own. Given that the wings costs €19, come on.. Next onto the fennel soup — it appears that the chef had dropped a bag of salt into the master stock, or rather, into the can of store bought cream of fennel. The salt content within the bowl of soup would probably help preserve the soup it for the next century or so. Appalling.

Foods and staffs were all amazing!!! Unexpectedly nice meal after a long trip. Green curry had a charred cabage on top and had fantastic flavors. Fried chicken was on very unique and crunchy. Not sure why there were some bad reviews.. maybe they chose a wrong menu

I was skeptical after seeing many negative reviews but had a good experience: food was ok, presentation was great, but above all, the service was fantastic - staff here is polite, friendly and has a big smile on their faces. Thanks!

Staff not friendly and I was turned away because my vacine bar code couldn’t be read by their app🤦🏻‍♂️, staff advise if they get check they could get in troubles. A reasonable person if they get check and have a client with the prof of vaccination then I believe nothing will happens to the business. It’s the same vaccine just taken in another country. Also they next to airport so they should expect a lot of people from abroad for business.

Curry soup can be all kinds of amazing. For 8.50 I expected...more than the small bowl of thickened milk sauce with a bit of curry powder for flavor that I got. They did put a good heaping spoonful of chives and parsley on top. That was honestly the highlight of the dish. The service was lovely I must say. :-) just the food was a disaster Update: Today I had the sausage & cheese board with bitterballen. All were nice, and the bitterballen of a good quality. Good pickles too! I'd take three times as many of those, but I'm a pickle fiend ^_^ still lovely service. It's probably not fair because these aren't cooked *by* the restaurant, like the soup might be, but raising my rating to 3 stars
