Tastes from The Lowlands in Schiphol

The food is served lukewarm, and if you mention it, you're met with the response, "It is what it is, this is how we serve it here." I don't know if all the staff are this bad, but the Italian man working on September 25th shouldn't be working in the hospitality industry.

Had a chicken sandwich and fries. I was overcooked and the flavor and apperance looked like it was dredge in chicken bullion then breaded and fried. Waitress was in such a hurry she didn't listen well, so the order was wrong. Stupid spendy for even simple things. Water is €5. Overall not that great. Definitely wouldn't return.

I love the Ribeye with the Side Salade with Fries! If you in a hurry is a no!. If you have time to enjoy the food yes👍🏼

Best airport breakfast I’ve had I think….. Friendly staff and delicious Scrambled Eggs!

The food was freshly prepared and delicious (falafel, pita, and avocado toast). The portion size was absolutely sufficient. The service was fast and friendly. The prices are high, as is typical for an airport, but you know that when you're planning on eating here.

The food is expensive. The ordering process is confusing. And the omelets are overcooked on the outside, undercooked on the inside with some scrappy cheese whiz type product.

Most expensive beer in Holland. Maybe in the world!

I ordered the black angus burger and I received an extra processed patty which I would never even order, not to mention pay 30€ for…

Food was delicious, servers were nice and pleasant to talk too, the chef was being rude to customers and to servers. So 1 star for the chef i wish i could give him a lower rating for yelling and being rude to everyone.

Koreans, don't come here again. When you try to order, they get upset and say they're busy, and they can't even take your order properly because they're busy. At first, I asked if I could order, but they got really upset and told me to wait, saying they can't see that they're busy. For reference, I ordered two hamburgers, but only one came, so I waited, thinking that the other one would be served late. Then, out of nowhere, they asked me if everything was okay, and I asked them what they were talking about. I ordered two hamburgers, but only one came. They said that they only ordered one from the beginning. The employee got my order wrong at first, and they kept insisting that I ordered the wrong order. There's an old man employee here who's really bad at his job, can't even take orders properly, and when he gets the wrong order, he gets angry and upset at the customer for ordering the wrong order. Never go here. You'd be better off buying cup ramen at the mart next door.

Falafel sandwich looks tasty, but the ‘pita’ is thick and more dense than one would expect. The actual falafel are low quality frozen small. The humus is hard to taste and easily hidden by the bread. The sprouts were a welcome addition and were fresh, saving much of the dish. Service is good, but seems to wish they were elsewhere, similar to me.

This seems to be a duplicate restaurant entry, so posting the review I put on the other one. Garbage waiter served with an attitude. He brought an "incorrect"drink to a friend I was dining with, then took it back, bringing him a smaller one... which he would've had to inevitably dump out unless he gave to another patron. Waiter also tried to make an excuse about why he couldn't break up the charge per table, stating something in regards to the meals on the planes. I can understand not being able to break up the table charge, but don't try to make up a lame excuse. Finally, the restaurant was not even close to capacity, so he had no real excuse to take a long period of time for service. Food was okay, fries were unseasoned (not even salt) but I can't really say anything against if that is normal. Burger was overly cooked, but again can't judge much if that's normal here.

Good service, good beer, awful and expensive burger.

I know or could be not the same way you should get service outside but considering airport I would say pretty good . I like to have their VEGAN burger which is deliciously tasty considering a long transit time I love to have it every time I travel KLM Besides they do serve sandwich, juices , coffee , croissants and more

Too bad that the most expensive (and most appetizing) budget: black Angus burger, is made with imitation soy steak…. Very disappointed for a burger at €27!

Perfect place to taste the taste of Holland

Terrible and scammy experience here. We wanted to grab a bite during our layover, we had about 1 and a half hour. After ordering, we waited about half an hour and our food still had not arrived. People sitting around us who had arrived and ordered after us started receiving their food so we were really confused. I got up to ask the guy who we placed the order with if it was going to be ready soon, he said it would only be another 5 minutes. 15 minutes later it still didn’t arrive and we checked in with him again, the food still wasn’t ready and by this time we were anxious because our flight was going to be boarding soon and we still had not ate. We didn’t even know if the food would be coming or not because he kept saying it would yet we never got anything. After 50 mins of placing the order I finally decided to ask for a refund and said I didn’t want the food anymore (we wanted to go somewhere we could get food to go at this point with the now time crunch we were under). I had paid 36€ and only received 30€ refund, and no never received my food either. Not sure why they kept 6€ given this circumstance but I would strongly advise people to avoid this and enjoy somewhere else in the airport.

Not super great but it was ok. I was happy they knew fairly well about gluten intolerance. They didn't have regular sprite, only the artificial one with aspartame and other junk. They didn't let us know beforehand and didn't offer a refund for the artificial one. The food was expensive for what you got. The gluten free bread was nice to have but wasn't super tasty. The pork was dry and lacking flavor.

best experience ! i hate to admit but don’t know his name , the bar tender that’s bald was absolutely amazing and made it feel like home !

Two of us shared a toasted club sandwich with additional portion of onion rings and fries. Very helpful wait staff, lovely food and all round decent atmosphere. We did observe one or two others around who had to ask for their food after ordering, however, that wasn't our experience. Prices a little expensive, but knew before ordering. Recommend if you would like something away from the standard quick food stops.

Good selection of food, ordered directly at the table via the app. Price-performance corresponds to an airport. But the food was quite ok.

Outrageous experience. This is is ony dishonest restaurant of the many I visited in The Netherlands. I ordered a salad and asked for a glass of plain water. The server brought me a very, very small bottle of water, a few ounces, and charged 4.55 euros, about $5, for it. It was just plain water, the same as what one gets from a tap. When it arrived I should have returned it and said I did not order bottled water - my mistake. Per ounce, it was about triple the price of water in other Schiphol restaurants. If you want to get ripped off, Tastes of the Lowlands is for you.

Avoid at any cost! Waiters are diabolical , food is so so, prices are not what they should be. If you want a good experiance in the airport find somewhere else to eat

Make sure you clear the extras you get. In the menu is everything included, but then on the cheque is added again. Shabby place with uninterested waiters and mediocre food

Apparently, there are to places on Google Maps for the same restaurant (Tastes of the Lowlands). The place is nice, plenty of chairs at the bar and tables to sit. Good service, the plate I ordered was served fast and fresh. The price is ok, considering you are in an Airport. I can say that the PokeBowl I had can easily be shared between two persons. The apple pie as good as well but served without cream (that I just noticed on the receipt later, I mean, I was not offered the option with cream).

Friendly server and bartender, excellent bitterballen, great fries, lots of seating, and the prices were normal! We were on the hunt for bitterballen, which took some effort, but they came through!

The place is nice. But only come here if you’re willing to wait close to 40 mins for some eggs, for waiters completely uninterested in service and management absent and unaccountable.

Not sure how to rate this so please read the review. Prices are not accurately reflected on the menu and no warning is provided even though the server was aware of the incorrect pricing with a previous customer. One star as I think customers should be aware that the prices are not accurate.

While ordering a burger, I asked how long it would take because of the flight. They said it would take about 10 minutes, but it came out in 20 minutes, but the cider I ordered didn't come out. I asked for cider several times, but they kept saying it was being prepared and it didn't come out until I finished the meal. As I was finishing my meal and leaving, I asked to cancel the cider, but was given the absurd reply that they would give it to me now since they could not refund the money already paid. In the end, he threw the 5 Euro bill and walked away without saying a word. The attitude of responding is very rude. Don't ever go there.

They asked for me if I wanted ketchup and mayonnaise for your burger I said yes then on the bill it was extra charge of 3.20€ on my bill Theirs standards are odd. Avoid!

Terrible place, suprise how this terrible service can be in so good Airport. First you waiting waiter 20 min, but they near to you busy with theirself, after when try order, advice order not will be ready than more 30 min, on question but inside 1 hour no answer. Suprise. Exactly if i like spend my time in restoran i will do it in restoran outside of Airport.

Appalling...avoid...does anybody work here ?! Food inedible...and look at the photos 😳...i think customers have to clear their own tables. Just astonishing

That was the worst full English breakfast of my life. The egg comes from the tetra pack, which is sometimes okay, but here it's disgusting. The baked beans were soggy. The toast is a slice of baguette spiced up in the toaster. The regular has the same amount as the small, but there is one more slice of bread.

Fairly decent place to grab a beer or wine, and bite to eat. Expect standard eye watering airport prices.

Poor customer service. Charged 7EUR for a bottle of water. The waiter should have told us before. When I contacted the manager - he said he would refund me the money. But after two reminders he still has not. UPDATE: Money has finally been refunded.

Don't come here if you're in a hurry, burgers take 20 minutes if you order one! A nice Dutch pub with few but good selection of beers. The taste of my beer was very ordinary, so nothing remarkable! The hamburger was not as delicious as the rib eye. Normally hamburgers should be good in a pub, but mine was dry!

The worst experience ever. They don't care about clients. It seems they are doing a favor. But we are paying for the food and for the service.

Great place to stop in for breakfast. I had the ham and cheese omelet and a coffee. It was initially difficult to order. So I moved to another table and was immediately served. Great service once noticed.

Great place to eat in peace at Schiphol. It is pleasantly busy, but there is no fuss from crowds of tourists. We have now spent time here twice and always enjoyed a delicious meal with a good bottle of wine. This is not a three star restaurant, so don't expect white linen tables. I find the negative reactions I read here quite naive. Being angry because the kitchen doesn't want to divide a single dish for two people is quite rude; it is not a snack bar.

Great restaurant with good service. Nice, witty and savvy bartender will engage everyone and makes the place enjoyable all day. Diversity is important!

The Burger is pretty good, and is a nice place to stay and wait for your flight.

Excellent coffee, a little bit hidden and therefore, less busy. But that doesn't mean less quality and service.

We ordered the Seaweed Vegan burger to share. The patty was nice and flavorful. The staff was okay and seemed kinda disinterested. We requested them to cut the burger in half before serving and they straightaway told no. They didn't tell us the burger came with mayo and ketchup (and somehow charged us extra for ketchup). Overall we liked the food but not so much the service.

Long queue just to buy a sandwich and the sandwich was not well heated (still cold inside in some part of the sandwich)

I hate writing negative reviews but I'm going to make an exception here. Food was ok - although half the menu was unavailable. The service was *terrible* Drinks took forever. Couldn't wave down servers to save our lives. Comically waving hands in the air after trying to "catch their eyes" for 10 mins. It's like they're paid to avoid patrons. Like it's their JOB to avoid patrons. Charged double to card by accident - couldn't reverse the transaction. And, it was the assistant manager who was the server. I guess the training "trickles down." Had to pay me in euro. Not much use for someone about to leave Europe. Would definitely not recommend. All the customers around me had similar experience.

Awful awful awful awful service, waited for the food for over an hour and a half which didn't even come. I'm kind of glad it didn't cause it was like 40 euro for 2 meals. The staff had a great time talking to each other as well and the restaurant was empty. Waitress didn't even check up on us even though she was beside us like 4 times. Drinks were manky as well

The food is delicious, the burgers are nice, but the staff is slow or lacking in numbers; There is an attitude of indifference, I think this is the extent of being treated like an airport customer; If you eat, you will nielsen; If you don't eat it, don't eat it 😂 account... anyway...

Worst service in whole of europe.

I tried sitting at a table to enjoy a pint. I was told I couldn't sit there unless I was eating. The place was practically empty. I was also charged 55 cents more for the beer I ordered than was advertised on the menu. I'm stuck at this airport for several hours and I will be taking my custom elsewhere. I can't say I would recommend this establishment.

Service was poor. The food was nice but massively overpriced.

A nice place to get a really good burger and beer. The staff was friendly and courteous and the atmosphere was pleasant. It was nice to enjoy a meal and not be surrounded by a bunch of stuffy people in their North Face attire drinking their fad coffee.
