La Place in Schiphol

It's an ok restaurant for an airport. Not what it used to be in the past though. La Place used to be a very nice place with high quality food and good atmosphere

pretty tasty food, I had meat with potato and salad bowl. Hot food portion size is generous but salad bowl size is too small for €9.5.

There were almost no fresh drinks. We really wanted fresh oranges, but they were gone. We asked twice, but they didn't bother with that... terrible service!

Lot of bad reviews but for my part was excellent :) People in the comments are just mad of the prices, hey guys, go elsewhere or don't even travel lol

You can pay a bit more, as long as it's clean and tidy, the sandwiches are warm, the drinks are good... but this Schiphol corner is a real mess. Except for the one friendly employee who tries her best, alongside a few idle colleagues on their phones. Not okay.

I have the pleasure to enjoy an amazing lunch during my break for my second plane ! 24,25€ for á full meal with as much quantity as you want I clearly recommend this place !

Hahaha, €4.25 for a regular sausage roll! Hahaha, ridiculous!!! They're ripping off tourists with La Place's high prices. Wasn't €3.25 enough?

This is absolutely terrible. The staff are too lazy to look around, and the tables are too dirty to even sit at. Perhaps it's a good idea to have the idle staff keep the tables clean. The shelves are practically empty. The warm rolls, like sausage rolls, are far from warm. Just cold. And then when you pay, you're shocked. Totally out of proportion to what you get. I wouldn't even pay a quarter for it. In short, not recommended, and maybe a warm Whopper early in the morning.

The food is cold, the tables are dirty, and the staff just sits around. Oh, and closing it down is way too expensive...

Surreal experience. Garbage everywhere, staff ignored me, and not even a napkin … surreal how an AirPort can alow this miserable service and conditions

It's a good and attractive restaurant! The only downside is that it's often crowded, but that's to be expected at an airport, and the food is good too!

Food is terrible, there’s like 6-7 people behind the counter and literally all of them seem like they don’t want to be there and that’s exactly how they act when you ask them a simple question. The prices are misleading and confusing, and you’ll walk around for 15-20 minutes trying to find a seat on a day that’s not even busy. Every single table has trash piled up on it and it smells terrible.

Years ago I always got a panini marinated chicken at Schiphol…..so incredibly tasty. Now went again for the first time and prices have of course increased enormously, but what happened to the old panini and the chicken? Flatbread was smaller, the amount of chicken much less. Unfortunately it did not taste as good as it used to. A very friendly boy who helped us, hence the 3 stars

I was feeling hungry at Schipol Airport, so I looked for a restaurant. In Singapore, most restaurants are located on the second level, so I looked up and saw an escalator leading to a restaurant. When I reached La Place, it was a nice surprise for me because it looked so pretty! A marketplace! It reminds me of the Swiss restaurant Marché in Singapore. Such a well-designed food hall! And with a view of the airport runway. I ordered a chicken ramen soup. The quantity was good for 1.5 persons. €18.75 Eating kills time. 😂

Lots of negative reviews... not for me. I think you have to choose your dish carefully and serve yourself generously. Potatoes + chicken = <3 Small, separate table for two, €32. I couldn't have hoped for better, considering I'm in an airport...

Not recommended 🚫. They put some signs that shows discount for some items, but when you go to casher to pay, they tell you its wrong information, all the time they find reason to make you pay the full price. Happened with me two times. The food is normal for high prices.

Healthy food options. Tomato soup is grest and are the salads. Nice juices options.

Stopped here for lunch after an overnight flight from the Westcoast of the USA. The food prices are really ridiculous for what you get, and the food definitely leaves you wishing you did not eat here. The worst was what they called tomato soup, and we would have to say it was completely horrible. The restaurant is located in the main terminal food court, and I would say it is the largest shop there. There are many tables within the food court area, but depending on when you eat there, you just might have a hard time finding an open table, that happened to us on our return trip home. Bottom line, airport food, isn’t that one of the fun things about air travel and with no atmosphere of any kind.

The food is ridiculously expensive!! 12€ for a pizza slice 🍕😮 ‼️ Come on… It discouraged me to buy anything. Scam. Music was calming and there were plenty of seats with electricity sockets. Young servants were friendly to me, and with each other.

First floor. Healthy food at airport prices. Quiet place. Great view of the runway.

Not here for the service (which is friendly) or restaurant-experience. Here for the convenience and wide food selection. Nothing really to complain about, you get what you pay for.

Dry croissant, extremely hot coffee made by a one-click-machine, poor wrap, nothing worth your money.

Terrible. There are 6 people doing nothing. Sandwiches were gone and inedible and also very expensive for what you get. Garbage was collected by 2 people, which took 15 minutes. And there are no soft drinks available. I would skip this one

Disappointing Experience at La Place Express I recently had a very frustrating experience at La Place Express. I used to love their Flatbread and was really looking forward to enjoying it after a long, tiring flight. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. I was the first person to arrive and place my order. However, despite that, the staff member repeatedly ignored my order as other customers came in. He would take their orders and start preparing their food immediately, even though I had clearly been waiting longer. This happened more than once, and even when another customer pointed out that I had been there first, the staff still didn't bother to prioritize my order. After waiting far too long, I decided to cancel my order and leave. This was incredibly disappointing, and the lack of respect for customers' time was shocking. If you're planning to visit, be prepared to face some serious issues with how the staff handles orders and their overall hospitality. A truly unpleasant experience!

Delicious food, twice a year (I always go on holiday to Greece twice a year ❤️🇬🇷via Schiphol (for me that is already a party), then a nice meal at la Place above. The atmosphere is always good. Wide range of food, freshly prepared

The beetroot wrap was soggy and not fresh. Staff immediately referred to the QR code for allergies. This is a very large file that is difficult to read while waiting in line. View was great!

Typical meeting place among the corridors that lead to the innumerable gates that characterize Amsterdam airport. Here there are places to cater for travelers of all ages. It offers dishes intended for any time of day or night.

Bad experience. Taking food is a challenge with trays placed at big distance and sauce ready to fall on your clothes. Cashiers were unfriendly but I guess it is not fun working there, I suggest their management to teach them how to smile, as they would be the first to take advantage from that. Customers occupy tables and chairs for much more than it takes to have a meal.

Not yet Islamized like a large part of Schiphol, so beer and wine are still available... the rest is also ok... but not very clean.

De La Place has become a lot more expensive over the years and the portions are much smaller. The salad choice is also limited. the sandwiches, on the other hand, are extensive, and the hot meal with salmon contains only a small piece of salmon. it is clean and nice staff.

Downright ridiculous prices. I know that it is more expensive at Schiphol. No one understands why. But a cup of hot water and then having to pay €3.85?? Completely misses the point. Just act normal La Place.

First of all, I think Schiphol Airport has inadequate infrastructure for the number of people it serves, and this is especially noticeable in its food and beverage facilities. My purpose for using this spot was to grab a quick breakfast before my flight, but it was extremely crowded, and I had to wait a bit to purchase food. The food selection was not very diverse, offering only basic, limited options from a chain. The taste was exactly what you would expect from a typical franchise—average at best. However, the prices were shockingly high, to the point where it felt discouraging to buy anything. I understand it’s an airport, but the prices for simple items like bread were outrageous. Additionally, the place was so crowded that finding a seat was a challenge(around 5am) and the tables weren’t even cleaned, which made the experience unpleasant. There aren’t many places to have breakfast in the airport, so this seems to be one of the few options available. It’s clear that significant improvements are needed in terms of both quality and pricing.

I’m not sure why it has such a low star rating, luckily I didn’t see it before visiting and I really liked it. The food is freshly made in front of you, the juices are amazing and there are plenty of options. The seating area is very comfortable, no complaints at all

La Place is one of the typical Dutch institutions that seems to survive everything. It’s basic, welcome back, ‘doe maar gewoon’, is something to rely on.

La Place, simple meals just a bit too expensive. Very busy. But the view is beautiful.

Everything is overpriced, grossly overpriced and only optically prepared to make it look valuable.

Coffee - fine Purple Tuna wraps - soaking/dripping wet, apparently that’s how it should be. Couldn’t eat it and would gladly have chosen a sausage roll in place of it.. all I could do was give it back…not a happy bunny.

I came to eat a little something during a stopover and I found my chicken sandwich quite good. The dishes are quite expensive but that is understandable for an airport.

Ok food, but the cleaning of the eating area is terrible👎 It is really disgusting🤢 I have never ever seen anyone washing any tables in this whole food court area any of the times I have been to Schiphol. We used our own wetwipes on our table, and it was so dirty that we considered taking our food out to the gate to eat it there. We also had one in our group with celiac, and the only thing that was gluten-free was tomatosoup in the whole food court area inkl. Burger King. I REALLY do not recommend eating here, at least not if you have allergies!

Wow! Next level bad food at La Place Schiphol. €18 for 2 bone-dry, leathery chicken legs and a small bowl of tasteless tomato soup. I'm left with a little bit of trauma from this.........getcha.

A great place to eat a good omelette at a price of €15 and fresh fruit.

Uno de los mejores restaurantes que se encuentran en el aeropuerto de Amsterdam. Comida caliente, pescado, carne y frutas de todos tipos. Si tenéis mucha hambre mejor optar por un menú. Lo que más me gusta de este lugar es que es uno de los poquitos sitios que abren pronto y cierran tarde. Ideal si vas con niños o para sentirse a trabajar.

A lot of money for old food, how it can be as here is always busy. I had a croissant from the day before. Chocolate that's only milk. Lucky is was my first/ last time.

For undisclosed reasons they call a very strange liquid “cappuccino”, better to avoid

Decent food at airport price level. One can find good combinations of meat and veggies. Ok sandwiches. Hard to find a place to sit, be prepared for waiting a lot to find a free spot.

Food options are good and quality is good as well. Was here in the early morning, and there were plenty of options for breakfast. But the seats and tables really need some work. They are old and worn out, which seriously downscales the experience here.

Voor een broodje, kopje koffie of een snack is dit op Schiphol een prima restaurant. Wel wat prijzig maar dat is alles op het vliegveld! De producten zijn kwalitatief verder prima. Ik ga meestal voor een verse smoothie en een saucijzenbroodje 😋😎

Hoop geld voor een beetje eten en drinken. Eten uit een kartonnen bakje, waarvoor je ook nog E. 0,15 moet betalen. Maar ja, Schiphol.

As a vegan this was the only place I found - I thought “make your own salad” medium sized for €8.50 was acceptable - salad ingredients were fine - roasted bell peppers, zucchini and couscous with fresh parsley, cucumbers, tomatoes, mixed lettuce etc were all fresh and flavorful. It’s at an airport so of course it’s going to be expensive but €5 for .5 liter of water takes the price - holy water?

Not what it used to be… food is dry, tasteless and with limited choice. I know this is an airport but still, everything is extremely overpriced!! Very poor value for money considering the quality. Anyways, this location only probably makes 60-70k per day so it’s not like they care, but it’s a shame. :(

We found ourselves stuck at Schiphol airport for a couple of hours so we went to this restaurant: excellent. Lovely selection of food, out of the crush of airport crowds, but still in the middle of the airport, easy to find. Next time we're at Schiphol we'll just go straight here.

This place used to be good- nowadays, everything is pre-made with cheap products and served by trainees almost unpaid- very bad combination- avoid the sushi and Asian soup by any mean.

Insgesamt okay, nur mit langen Wartezeiten, wenig freien Sitzplätzen und viel Dreck.

Sandwiches, fruit, drinks. A bit expensive for the product quality, but it is in the airport.... Quite a number of seats and tables, getting very busy at rush hours. Power plugs for your electronic devices at different tables.

Lieu contournable de l'aéroport de Amsterdam, c'est au moins la fois numéro 3 que j'y viens et le prix y est toujours aussi excessif ! La nourriture y est super bonne mais je conseille seulement de snacker dans cet endroit de gobar (c'est du verlan). C'est bon à s'en lâcher la babine du haut mais pas la basse après la porte des toilettes est jamais loin, derrière le Burger de l'autre côté ! Pas de problème les amis c'est super bon aller je vous laisse j'ai un avion à prendre bisous les amis !

Nice place to have a nice and healthy meal, we didn’t see any rating before going , it was just walk in after a lovely day in the city and having some time to catchup on our flight…although vegetarian options were limited but still it was much more than any other place nearby …and salads, fruits and sandwiches were all fresh…prices are also reasonable…all in all a great one

Decent food, usual airport prices. They have many options including fresh fruit, juices, focaccias and paninis, bakery.

This place has some fresh fruit and vegetable options which you cannot find elsewhere in AMS. I chose to eat here because they have soup and salad. The bread and the banana bread were quite nice. The prices are high for the food quality, but that applies to everything in AMS.

Lekkere verse producten. Prijzen zijn wel behoorlijk hoog zoals op alle vlieghavens.

로어몬트 아울렛에서 발견한 맛집이 스히폴 공항에도 있네요~ 이번엔 치킨과 구운 야채들^^ 볶은 버섯은 참 맛있어요~ 음료수와 함께 흡입흡입.... 배가 고팠는지 아주 맛있게, 싹 다 비웠어요!! 커피는 좀 별로 였지만... 스테이크가 없어서 아들은 파스타로 만족해야 했고, 피자도 없어서 전 차선책을 고를 수 밖에 없었어요~ 여튼 맛난곳!! 분위기도 짱 좋아요^^

Thought the sandwiches and soup are delicious. Location is great. It seems and feel disorganized, nothings ever fully ready etc . Staff is nice.

A basic buffet salad bar with grill. It's not good value for money, as you might expect in an airport. The prices are very high considering the average quality of the food, the moody and depressed seeming staff and untidy floors and tables. When we visited, around eight pm, there were a lot of items missing such as the steak and several salads and burger buns. Juices, beer, wines and sodas are available to buy from a fridge. The view is quite nice, the food was okay and the venue is wheelchair accessible.

The food was just alright, but not very special. You can around the restaurant and pick the food yoy like and pay before taking your seat. The view is nice, though.

The chicken sandwich tasted fine, but it was well on the dry side - like eating a dust sandwich. Check out was quick. But the prices here are pretty high - like most other places at the airport. It's better to pack as sandwich or two and skip eating at these expensive restaurants with questionable quality.
