Stationnerie in Wijk 00: Valkenburg

Bought Hap en Stap via Smart-Market. There was no coffee machine (broken, that can happen), but we got tea which was fine too. The pie was also fine. Lunch was a huge disappointment; we had salmon salad. The lettuce was swimming in a dressing that was too sour. Tastes differ, but we found it really below par. I have had salmon salad in many places, so I can definitely speak from experience when I say that this was really not okay. The lady herself was otherwise friendly.

Friendly price for a place so close to the station! The pastries were delicious, both the 3 different types of flan we tried and the small pieces of cake we received with our coffee and tea. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She was patient and explained a lot to us. A great place to visit if you need to spend some time in (or near) the station!

Yesterday 21/06 I ran into the bar to get a kriekbeer and a young, pleasant man served it to me but suddenly the train arrived and I had to leave, card machine was working slow and couldn't pay for it. When I came this morning to pay, the place was still closed. Very welcoming atmosphere and cool spot before or after the train BUT plan time better than I do. Also, would love to get in touch and pay for the beer 🙏

Went for a cup of coffee on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Friendly service. Delicious coffee. A nice starting point for a walk in and around Valkenburg. The Stationnerie is located in the oldest station in the Netherlands. Built in 1853. The station is also a national monument.

After a long day in the hills finding this restaurant was a blessing. The salads are fresh and tasty and the service good and friendly. Definitely would come back for the scampi salad.

A truly charming soot with beautifully presented displays and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Everything feels thoughtfully curated, making it a standout spot if you’re looking for a cozy place near the train station. What really sets this place apart is the exceptional service from the entire staff. Everyone is incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. The woman who often leads the space is especially wonderful, so personable, speaks multiple languages, and makes every guest feel comfortable and at home. You can tell the team genuinely cares about creating a great experience. We actually stopped here three times while passing through the train station, which says a lot. Consistently great service, lovely ambiance, and a place you’ll want to return to. Highly recommend if you’re in the area of Valkenburg.

Unfriendly and misunderstanding

Staff isn't simply rude, they're literally hostile. Better check any other place in the city.

Super good and clean toilet!!!!! With a windowsill and a window with a view, it's definitely worth a visit. It was completely worth the 50 cents. I would go again. 10/10👍

A small, super cozy, warm restaurant. A great chef in the kitchen, passionate about his craft. He came to your table to explain everything, and he even makes everything himself. The service was also very warm and passionate about their work. Highly recommended.

We've been coming across the street for work for over 10 weeks now, and we always come here 2 or 3 times a week. I can't give it anything but 5 stars. The food and atmosphere are always perfect.

Delicious food with caring and friendly staff, and the atmosphere was quite pleasant. I also recommend ordering the sauerkraut and spare ribs.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with this establishment. I wanted to have a beer, and I felt like I should have fries with that at that moment. When my fries arrived, I was furious but didn't show it. This was intentional. What's the point? I received a plate with a layer of curry, mayo, fries on top, and because I didn't have enough sauce, another layer of curry and, of course, mayo. Sauce with fries, so to speak. To make it look nice, onion and a few pieces of scallion or something. How do I know it was intentional? All the other guests were presented with fries in a bowl. I also looked a staff member in the eye when he had a twinkle in his eye, and of course, his head turned. Of course, I didn't want to be outdone, so I gave a 4-5 euro tip, finished my beer, crossed the road, and went into the hotel. That's why I'm writing this so people know who wrote it and hopefully think...shit, he just knew.

The food was definitely good! Good chef. The service much less. The young gentlemen of the service still have a lot to learn. When serving, half the empty plate slid onto the table, there were no new fries in it. The fries were not eaten either. The table, outside, was "wiped clean" but oh well.... Made us think a bit what if it falls on the ground, no problem? When asking to be allowed to sit at a table further away in the shade, it was not possible, that was from the ice cream man further away. 5 minutes later there are customers with a menu????? Good food and hopefully better service one day.

Voor 8 personen gereserveerd maar was niet klaargezet, voorstel was om ergens in een hoekje te zitten waar nog een oud vies apparaat stond. En eten was ook erg matig. Personeel daarnaast niet bepaald vriendelijk.

We ate here yesterday with nine people. The food was excellent!

Fantastic local spot for a good honest meal. Super owners. Guests are number 1 here. Will definitely come back.

We spent hours trying to find a nice place to eat something. Cozy place! Also nice and warm, good to warm up. Friendly woman. And delicious hot chocolate! Ps: good music! Love Lyanda and girlfriend.

I have read bad reviews of the restaurant. We went at Christmas and the truth is we can't complain at all. An impressive dinner, fantastic venue and very good service despite not speaking Dutch and almost English.

Een goed begin om Valkenburg te verkennen, begint met een goede lunch vanaf station Valkenburg. Ontloop de drukte horeca gelegenheden in het centrum. Menukaart heeft goede keuze aan lunch of avondeten.

There would be fresh pie every day, but pie is old. At lunch I get something different than I ordered, but I didn't want to make things difficult so I accepted. 2 others asked for a brown sandwich instead of white and we had to pay an extra 1.50 per person afterwards. This should be reported in advance. Never again . There are better places in Valkenburg for lunch.

Slecht, ik haal koffie en icetea, bestel van prijslijst en ik betaal 0,50 meer dan wat prijslijst aangeeft (3,50 ipv 3 euro). Wanneer ik daar iets over zeg krijg ik als reactie dat het oude prijzen zijn. De "oude" prijzen staan echter wel op elk menu dat op de tafeltjes ligt.

Nice catering facility in Valkenburg station. The whole thing looks very attractive. Staff are friendly. There is parking (paid) nearby. Furthermore, sanitary facilities are very neat.

Lekker Cappuccino met Limburgse Vlaai!

Genieten van een heerlijk biertje van de tap met een zalige bittergarnituur is dit een van de beste plaatsen om heerlijk te zitten en na te praten over de Amstel Gold. Perfecte gastheer en dame maken het plaatje compleet! Aanrader!

Leuk dat het station gebouw zo wordt benut.leuke entourage, en hele leuke en en attent personeel.

Mooi oud station, je bent binnen 10 minuten in centrum van Maastricht.

In Valkenburg, het oudste treinstation van Nederland. Hier wilde we wat drinken. Erg leuk, authentiek rijksmonument. Buiten op het kleine terras genoten van een lekker koud glas Limburgs bier. Het was druk maar we werden snel en vriendelijk bediend. Zeker ook eens binnen rond gaan kijken.

Laagdrempelig authentiek en gastvriendelijk, deze kleine brasserie. Goede menukaart en redelijke prijzen. Hier een kleinigheid nuttigen heeft een bijzondere charme.

Heel gezellig stationnetje. Zeker de moeite waard om een drankje te doen.

Lekker zonnig terras bij het oudste en mooiste stationsgebouw van Nederland. Aardige en vlotte bediening en een ruime kaart.

Het oudste station in Nederland staat in Valkenburg. In dit Rijksmonument kan je goed lunchen. Heerlijke broodjes en een goed glas Limburgs bier, maken het verblijf in dit historisch cultureel erfgoed, aangenaam. De vriendelijke bediening deed de rest

Gezellig café restaurant met terras direct gelegen aan het oudste historische bestaande station van Nederland. Het meest gastvrije station van Nederland. Bijkomende bijzonderheid is de op afspraak te bezoeken kunstgalerij.

We visited this restaurant while walking the "route d'amuse". If the other dishes are as good as their amuse it's a very nice restaurant. When it's dark outside the restaurant looks amazing. Also inside there is a nice atmosphere.
