I can only agree with the previous comments. This place has steadily gotten worse. Today was absolutely awful. The meat was disgusting and raw. Plus, the prices are always higher than advertised. So, steer clear of this place. It absolutely doesn't deliver on its promises.

The food took a long time to eat, the service was terrible, all rude people, bad wobbly furniture, drinks fell over because of it. The pizzas taste like Dutch doughnuts, and a fight broke out inside the restaurant and the staff were more interested in the fight than in serving us. Maybe we just had a bad day (probably not, don't go there) regards.

Coming from Germany the food may have better lows but the food Herr was not tasty at all. The boss asked us, if the food tasted good, so my group said yes but no, doner kebab was disgusting, meat wasn't cooked, it was raw. two of us said kebab was 0,5/5, and the rest gave 1-2 Stars out of 5. The waiter was nice tho and we were given some candies at the end.

The falafel was great – the staff was terrible. The staff left much to be desired. To attract us as customers and elicit sympathy, the apparent owner lied, claiming to be from a war zone (the Gaza Strip), without us even asking. When we pressed him, he insisted he was actually from Egypt. The apparent owner asked my companion (a young woman in her early twenties) how old she was. Without our prompting, he said he was in his mid-thirties and asked her what she thought of his age. We both found this inappropriate. The food was tasty, but expensive. The prices on the menu didn't match the actual prices. We had to wait a long time for our food. We ordered the same meal, but my companion clearly had more fries. The falafel was tasty and plentiful. The sauces were refilled without us even asking. The premises (dining area and restroom) were substandard.

Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience. We ate there yesterday but left the restaurant because the staff made us feel completely unwelcome. The constant unkind stares and comments from the employee were disrespectful and inappropriate. I've truly never experienced anything like it in a restaurant before. It's a shame, because friendly and respectful treatment of guests should be a given! The food was also, unfortunately, only a 2 out of 10 😬

Went for a shawarma, it was OK, felt better before.

Central location, good atmosphere and outdoor seating. A bit pricey, pizzas rather thin and sparsely topped. Friendly staff and they're open until after midnight.

The falafel with bread and "salad," as well as the falafel plate with fries and salad, were truly disappointing. There were a few lettuce leaves, a slice of tomato, and some pickled carrot strips. The falafel balls were tiny and not at all fluffy. The plate looked fantastic in the window display—with hummus, pickled vegetables, and so on. The falafel plate that arrived bore no resemblance to the picture. I find the prices exorbitant for the quality of the food, and I wouldn't eat there again. The Egyptian bread with the dips was tasty.

I realized today that we've been going to Shalom whenever we're in Zandvoort for at least 10 years. Judging by the photos, since at least 2016. The food is still excellent. The location in the pedestrian zone is lovely for sitting outside.

My experience at the Shalom restaurant was unfortunately very disappointing. The name "Shalom," which actually stands for peace and well-being, is, in my opinion, completely inappropriate for what you find there. The restaurant is run by an elderly gentleman alone – he cooks, serves, and cleans all at once. That would be understandable if the condition of the place weren't so problematic. Cleanliness and hygiene leave much to be desired. The decor looks neglected, and cushions and other items were simply lying around in a messy pile, which doesn't make a good impression. The food was also disappointing. The dishes were served cold. I had ordered lamb chops but received four small, obviously older pieces of meat that looked neither fresh nor appetizing. I was also recommended bulgur, but instead, rice was served – without any explanation or notification. Overall, I got the impression that neither quality nor hygiene is given sufficient attention here. I also found the price particularly disappointing: We paid 80 euros for 2 people for this experience, which in no way reflects the quality of the food, service and the condition of the restaurant.

Food acceptable , the sauces were 10/10 but 38 euro for a plate , na no chance for a normal wee scheemy keebab shop ...absolutely bonkers for a mixed keebab, no wonder the place is empty , the plate in picture was 38 euro, the bread and juice were extra ... this is not fine dining or even middle shelf his is keebab shop for the people , bonkers

Kapsalon was horrible. The fries were overfried, extremely oily and stuck to the bottom. The meat and cheese were burned on some spots

Good food, especially considering the price. They also offer authentic Egyptian dishes that you don't often find in the Netherlands and are definitely recommended! The owner and staff are super friendly.

Very hospitable staff. A comfortable location. A good selection of meat dishes, and the bread and dips are a must.

We had a lovely meal here after a long walk along the beach. I enjoyed my mixed grill, my daughter couldn't even finish her kapsalon, and my partner had the shawarma special with two rolls.

Pay close attention, if you order a Turkish pizza and a small portion of fries, where no price is shown, he charges €6.00 for a plain pair of fries 🍟, outrageous, go a bit further.

Best kebab in the whole country!!!!

The pizza here was good and crispy. The Gyro meat was okay it, it needed salt but the sauce that was brought to us helped add a little more flavor.

I ate at Steakhouse Shalom and it was seriously amazing! The meat was juicy, flavorful, you tell they really know what they’re doing on the grill! The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Recommending for anyone around!

We were craving shawarma and so we ended up at steakhouse Shalom. This was the first but certainly not the last time. It was delicious! Very well seasoned, fresh sauces, tasty lettuce, in short, excellent. The owner is rightly proud of his business. So we will be back!

My constant contact in Zandvoort for ~18 years. The first impression is deceptive; the thrown together tables and chairs do not immediately convey a feeling of trust to the spoiled German. But that's irrelevant if you're hungry and want to eat delicious food. For me and all my initially doubtful companions, "Alex" has become an institution for good, freshly prepared food with that certain something extra. Because it is what it is. A nice plate alone doesn't fill you up, you'll find it opposite - chic without value! Good food, a good mood and a nice reunion have been at home at Shalom for decades. Conclusion: Absolutely recommended

Reasonable shawarma after a night of drinking

We have been coming here for years on every visit to Zandvoort, always in the winter months. Delicious kebab, freshly cut 'vegetables' and a very nice host/owner. We're going again in 2 weeks!

Disgusting. Would like to give 0 stars. I'm afraid of food poisoning. Regret that I didn't get up and leave when the hamburger was served to me. A thin slice of bread with a thin frozen meatball. It's incomprehensible how you can give 5 stars here. In addition, the owner tries to attract people by shouting "yummy yummy helal". Nowadays anyone can open a “restaurant”.

The food was great. We ate the Shoama, the meat was very tasty and we got 3 different sauces.

How is it possible that the food I ordered looks like this, even though I was the only customer in the restaurant when I visited here. It would have made sense if I had opened the package and checked the quality of my meal before leaving this restaurant.

I ate here almost every evening on the boys' holiday. We were always served quickly and well. Furthermore, the food was incredibly delicious. But we were always incredibly high.

Durum fell apart. I asked if there was any pickle, the gentleman said no, there was anyway. No sambal, no herbs, nothing.

After 11 pm we were still looking for something to eat in Zandvoort and the only restaurant that still had food was Shalom. We received a very friendly welcome and received our pizza very quickly. The food was good and the price was also reasonable. We have absolutely nothing negative to say. The only thing that was a bit annoying was the music, which is why we ate outside.

We are on vacation in Zandvoord with 4 people and got 4 pizzas and 4 drinks. Food was prepared quickly and also very tasty The service and friendliness cannot be beat. The pizzas were served with 3 different sauces (garlic, hot sauce and onion sauce) all were excellent We also got stick bread with a Kreuter butter dip And the location is great right in the pedestrian zone. All in all, only recommended Greetings from Germany 👍❤

Following the friendly and open invitation at the door, we sat down at the table and enjoyed the positive atmosphere and conversation from the owner. There was extra music to accompany the puffy, delicious bread and 3 special sauces. Falafel and kebab tasted excellent. Definitely worth a visit

Unfortunately, the service and prices don't match here at all. Bland food carelessly served in a mini size. The yummy yummy calls from the operator were particularly annoying.

The kebab wasn't good. The teenage daughter was happy when a seagull stole the kebab from her hand on the beach 🤣 The meat was not good, the mixture was unsuitable and the sauce didn't taste good. We can't say anything about the other food. Price-wise: €7.50 per kebab & €3 for a small can of beer are not appropriate.

Ordered 3 kebabs. It had nothing to do with a normal kebab. Small bread, bad meat, little salad and far too much sauce. We definitely can't recommend kebab.

Because everything else in the city was already closed and Shalom is open until 3 a.m., we luckily ended up here. I ate Kapsalon for the first time and it was really tasty, I hope it tastes as good everywhere as it does there! The kebab was so delicious that we got another one the next day. The owner is in a very good mood and spreads a lot of joy!

It's a small shop in zaandvort Holland but the shawarma was really tasty I have to say. Inconspicuous and yet interesting. I would go there again when I'm there. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos because there were small children sitting at the table next door.

The food was terrible, I went to a hair salon myself, I got very little meat, the fries were limp and not good. All in all, I have never had such bad food. Not recommended for limp fries with cheese and a hint of meat. You should go here, dirty. scammer also makes us pay after 2 bites we left!

At first, I had some doubts about this place because the man who invited customers on the promenade was like a guy trying to give you a leaflet, but when we got the food, I realized that the man who invites customers was like a mother who calls the children for dinner because the food was very tasty and fresh. . They don't care about quantity, only quality, we waited about 15-20 minutes, but as they say, sometimes you have to wait for good things. I highly recommend it, I will definitely come back!

Quite a homely feeling and great food! Kapsalon had a great amount of cheese instead of the half a slab you get at some places. And the egyptian bread was puffy and delicious!

Places that are open late are perfect when you're craving food after hours of train disruption, even more when the place serves great food at a decent price, and are served by the best grandpa in town! Had to come back!
