Great spot, beautiful decor, we happened upon it just in time for the holidays, friendly service, delicious food. I highly recommend it.

Good food, lunch prices are on the high side, especially for the winter season, and the location is beautiful.

We were at a party here. It was well-organized, the service was great, and the atmosphere was great.

We visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening. It was quiet; only a few tables were occupied, except for one larger group in the back. The atmosphere was otherwise fine. We ordered a starter but had an unexpectedly long wait. When it was finally served, the soup was lukewarm. The taste was okay, but the temperature was disappointing. The main course took another long time to arrive, even though it was still very quiet around 7:30 PM. This raised the question of how such waits can arise with such low occupancy. The drinks we ordered were also delivered late – even after we had already finished our meal. The staff didn't seem overworked; there was no visible rush or stress. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Despite the quiet Saturday evening, the wait times for both the dishes and drinks were far too long, which negatively impacted the experience.

A gigantic Uitsmijter, the most beautiful music of all the beach pavilions. Unfortunately, I only discovered it on the last day, but I'll play it much more often next time. Tot ziens. ⛱️🍹🐚👙🦀🏄

A lovely beach bar with friendly, cheerful service. And finally, a place where the coffee is served nice and hot. Lunch was also excellent, and the seating is comfortable.

Delicious tomato soup as a starter. The chicken curry was very filling, delicious! Unfortunately, the bavarois was frozen solid and was unpleasant to eat.

We went to Soldaat van Oranje with a group of 11 people and had made a reservation at this charming beach pavilion. We sat down at our table at 5 p.m., having been told we had to leave by 7 p.m. Unfortunately, we didn't get our starters until 6:30 p.m. The table was very crowded due to all the bottles of drinks and empty starter plates, but that was overlooked. There were also a few people looking directly into the sun, but the curtains couldn't be closed. The staff is very friendly, but the quality of the service could be better. It was very frustrating that we couldn't have a decent meal during those two hours. If you know a week in advance that a large group is coming for dinner and the weather is nice, it's also helpful to hire more staff or even help out as a manager. The terrace was full, but the only food coming out of the kitchen was bittergarnituurtjes (small snacks). This is quite a long review, but I hope the beach pavilion will do something about it. Had dinner here and really enjoyed it. The staff are all friendly and fast. My vegetarian burger was superb! The patty was crunchy and was made delicious with all the garnish. The fries were also crispy and the mayo was smooth and flavourful. We were lucky to see the sunset as we ate, and then witness a beautiful moonrise as we left.

We were there on Sunday. Half a chicken was only available from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. And not on Sundays. That was a disappointment. We tried again on Tuesday. Couldn't because it was just after 7:00 PM. And we were there before 7:00 PM. But it took a very long time to get served. All the staff were young. No interest in customers. A slightly older woman looked grumpy. The spare ribs were very tasty, though. The fries had already been broken a few times, very hard. When I said something, I was told: "I didn't fry them." Ugh. You normally pass that on to the chef. The next day we asked for tomato soup. They didn't have it anymore. It was our favorite beach bar until a year ago. Back then, they had a good manager. Good, but somewhat older staff. It's a shame that didn't continue. Now the staff is everywhere, but there's no structure. A real shame.

Great for a drink and some snacks.

We had a really nice waiter named Marc, so a raise wouldn't hurt, right? And we thought it was a really nice place.

Everything was great! Very friendly waitresses, who first asked if the dogs needed a drink. 👍🏻 The service was excellent. The food was great. We had a Vegaburger, which was delicious, and the "Early Bird Special" was half a grilled chicken. Juicy and tender. And the sausage rolls were delicious, too.

Hebben na een mooie dag even gezellig een drankje gedaan. T zat helemaal vol maar werden snel en vriendelijk geholpen door t personeel. Gezellig een drankje en een bittergarnituur met een brood en smeerseltjes genieten van de zon. T personeel kwamen meerdere keren langs of t allemaal goed was en of we nog wat wilde bestellen. Het is een eenvoudige kaart maar welke lekkere cocktails en genieten van t strand.

Everything was great. I can't say anything negative about the service or the food. Attentive, competent, and friendly staff. Even our dog got water and treats. 👍

Shabby, with broken parasols from my mother's time. After drinks, no one came back to take our food order. Probably for a reason. Ceasar salad shouldn't be called that. You can also serve grass. The garnish next door looked better. Curry? It was a bit like it, but nothing more. I know all the beach bars in Katwijk, but this is a disappointment... I pointed out that the Caesar salad was a bit sparse, and the comment: yes, that's how it should be... Find a different chef, I'd say. I didn't expect this.

A very pleasant atmosphere and excellent food. We've become regulars!

It was a cozy place. A beautiful view of the beach, especially if you sit outside. The staff was friendly and always had a nice chat! The food and drinks arrived quickly and tasted great.

We went there for dinner yesterday, and I was asked if I could perhaps leave a review. I'm happy to do so. So: We were there for coffee at lunch and, because of the nice atmosphere, we immediately reserved a table for the evening. It all worked out great. For dinner, we had the prawn curry, the kip satay skewer, and fish & chips. The prawn curry tasted amazing. The curry sauce was superb, the vegetables were crunchy, and the prawns were cooked to perfection. The rice served with it was a bit overcooked, but with the sauce (and you get a lot of sauce, since everything except the rice is served in a larger bowl), it wasn't a problem. The satay skewer was also very tasty; you can also taste that the satay sauce is homemade. Unfortunately, the fish & chips weren't that great. Anyone expecting freshly fried fish in traditional beer batter will be disappointed, as they only serve deep-fried frozen fish with breadcrumbs. This was very disappointing, especially considering the price of the dish (€18.50), especially since they seem to be trying to somehow evoke the original with a newspaper page underneath. There was too little mayo and too much tartar sauce. 4/5 stars... we'll go back, but not for the fish & chips :)

We went here last week. The lunch menu had already started at 11:00, so we ordered fish and chips at 11:30. To our surprise, there was no fish. And this in Katwijk. So, just fries, because we were hungry. It took forever. The staff was friendly but couldn't say anything more than "they were working on it." At exactly 12:00, fries were suddenly served to several tables. Ours too. It was clear that the fryer still needed to be fired up. Don't put this on the menu for 11:00. Furthermore, the fries were small, salty, and sparse; clearly the bottom leftovers from the container. A waste of money, a waste of time. I'm left with a bad feeling; it feels like you're being ripped off as a day tripper. Next time we're in Katwijk, we won't be going to this beach bar.

Had a wonderful time at this beach pavilion yesterday. Great service, delicious food, and wine until late. A cozy terrace! Definitely worth a return visit 🥰

The service was a complete disaster. I can't explain the positive reviews at all. Are they bought? The waitresses ignore you and only talk to each other. We weren't asked if we wanted anything to eat when we ordered drinks. Getting staff to come to our table to order something is basically impossible. After being ignored several times, we almost had to fight to order something to eat. All the tables around us were served equally poorly. The drinks we ordered simply never arrived. No one asks you if everything is okay at your table and if you need anything else. The food was just okay. The fries were bad, however they can't make them well. The staff barely speak English, even though none of them are over 20 years old. The chairs are very uncomfortable and not suitable for long stays.

After passing by the beach several times, we decided to have dinner here today. The service was nonexistent; the first drink arrived quickly and without any problems; all subsequent orders were only taken at the beck and call of the staff. We ordered spare ribs and a steak, both of which were mediocre at full price, if not more. The second round of drinks never arrived at our table. The staff didn't understand a word of English and made no effort. The promenade is full of great restaurants, all worth a visit, but this one definitely wasn't!

Today we had a wonderful afternoon at the beach, ending it on the outdoor terrace of Beach Pavilion 't Centrum. The service was excellent and attentive. After a delicious refreshing drink, we ordered a meal, which was served promptly. The food was good and plentiful. The atmosphere was pleasant and the vibe was great. All the more reason to eat there again! Thanks to the team, see you next time.

Matig eten bediening geen waterbakje voor de hond nadat ik het gevraagd had. Nog nooit ergens meegemaakt. Kan veel beter met aandacht voor de gast.

The staff doesn't pay attention to customers. They just stand behind the bar chatting with each other, and you have to actively wave them down to order. They don't even come to you on their own. We were about to leave because no one came to us, even though the staff were all busy talking. Another couple next to us also left early. I see from the comments that this is unfortunately a common practice at this establishment. If they continue this trend, I wonder how long it will last if customers stay away or leave because they're not being helped.

Het personeel was totaal niet bezig met gasten in het restaurant maar vooral erg druk met elkaar aan het kletsen. 5 hangjongeren achter de bar die geen blik wierpen op de gasten. Je moest actief iemand wenken als je geholpen wilde worden anders zat je er een uur later nog zonder dat er een bestelling was opgenomen. Wij stonden op het punt om weg te gaan toen na een aantal keren wenken (er zat bijna niemand dus druk was het niet) iemand naar ons toe kwam. Een ander stel stapte op toen ze ook lang moesten wachten. Gaat lekker op deze manier daar!

We went there twice and it was just fantastic 😍 The food was delicious, the staff were very friendly and so dog-friendly 😍 We will definitely be back on our next holiday in the Netherlands :)

Unfortunately, the service isn't attentive to customers. Our drinks only arrived upon request, and we were only able to pay the bill after repeated requests.

I haven't had spare ribs in a long time. And they were very good with the sauce.

We came with a group of 16 people. We arrived at 16:30 and at 18:30 we had our food. Had to ask the staff several times to bring the menu and order drinks.

Ik kwam aan en werd bij binnenkomst gelijk verwelkomt door Het personeel. We kozen voor een plekje bij het raam en bestelden wat te drinken. Het drinken was er al met 2 minuten. We bestelden lunch en kozen voor een krokettenlunch en voor de spareribs. Het eten was er met 15 min. ECHT TOP SERVICE!!!!! We vroegen naar de bon en kregen er pepermuntjes bij. De prijs viel Ook reuzenmee. Oftewel een geslaagde dag. ECHT voor herhaling vatbaar🥰

Nadat we twee keer hadden gevraagd of iemand misschien zou kunnen checken of ons eten er binnenkort aankwam en we al een uur hadden gewacht, hebben we uiteindelijk 2 van de vier gerechten gekregen. We hadden verder alleen een broodje en de kroketten besteld, dus ook niet het ingewikkeldste om te maken. Uiteindelijk zijn we na een uur maar weggegaan.

Had a lovely time at Strandpaviljoen Het Centrum in Katwijk! The terrace is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxing beach moment. Service was friendly and fast, and everything we ordered arrived quickly. The Aperol Spritz was really good, but unfortunately, by 4:30 PM it was already finished, which was a shame. The atmosphere is great, vibrant yet chill, and the toilets were clean, which is always a plus. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Na een zomerse drukke dag gelukkig een tafeltje gevonden. Personeel werkte hard en toonde belangstelling. Bediening was gezien de drukte normaal zoals je verwacht maar duurde zeker niet te lang voordat we de gerechten hadden. Lekkere gerechten op de kaart. De zalm, kipsate en gamba curry smaakte voortreffelijk. Kortom een aanrader!

What poor service, little attention to guests, still no drinks after half an hour. You have to walk up to someone every time to ask if they can please come to your table to take the order. Drinks were served fairly quickly but we had to wait an hour for food. In between, no one comes by to ask if you want something to drink. Inside the bar there is also chaos of young staff with little organization. I don't think they want to make money.

After a long day I found a spot with my family at beach pavilion Het Centrum. We got there at 4:55 pm. At 5.15 pm someone came to take our order and immediately ordered drinks, starter and main course. At 5.30 pm we received the first starter. 5.35 pm the second main course and at 5.40 pm our drinks. At 6.15 pm we received a main course twice and 10 minutes later we had to walk inside where our children's main course remained. Apart from the service, I thought the food was quite poor. 1 skewer of satay with satay sauce and some lettuce and a little prawn crackers. And a small basket of fries. Oh yes, and then there are also 2 people smoking next to us on the terrace. All in all. Not a good experience. A very disappointing 1st day in Katwijk to end the day.

On April 16, I had dinner here with my brother, mother and stepfather. We had been twice before and liked it, but this visit went nowhere. When we wanted to order, we discovered that the half rooster and the schnitzel cordon bleu had been removed from the menu. This was a shame because these were the two dishes we came especially for. When we looked at the website, it turned out that these two dishes were still there! They had adjusted the map but didn't change anything on the website! Ultimately (and with slight reluctance) we ordered something else. I had the western spare ribs, my mother had the steak and my brother and stepfather had the (normal) schnitzel. My spare ribs were virtually tasteless, dry and difficult to pull off the bone. The steak (supposedly made from angus meat) was very tough and dry, my mother could barely eat it. The schnitzels were good. The service was bad, if you had service at all. A young boy, a young girl and an older woman who didn't care about anything. When we asked the boy about the dish of the day, he told us he couldn't pronounce it. When we asked if I could get an extra lemon cloth for my fingers, a whole handful was dropped on our table. I can't say much about drinks, because none of the three people in the service ever asked us if we wanted something to drink. We ended up having to shout at them and wave the glass at them to get their attention. If it had been busy we would have turned a blind eye, but we were the only occupied indoor table and there was only one occupied table outside. After some discussion, we decided not to go here anymore. We don't know what has happened in the last few months, but with such a poor menu and such inexperienced people at the service, we can easily find something better. Aju Strandpaviljoen Het Centrum, you can find us at the Havenkwartier, where the food and service are much better :)

Great place to have a tea but even better to dine in. Just tried the starter of mini dutch bread and was great. on the service if it becomes busy they are not coordinated and becomes a bit messy.

The food was good, but the company's service could really be better. I ordered a fresh ginger tea. It turned out to contain three very small and thin slices of ginger and a folded slice of orange. After a few sips I got annoyed and asked the waitress to replace the tea with Earl grey. When paying, where I only received a bank receipt, it turned out that an extra glass of tea was simply charged. That's what you call very bad service!

Gasten zitten tijden lang met vieze vaat aan hun tafel. Wachten wachten op bestek, inmiddels eten koud. Friet uiteindelijk zelf maar gaan halen bij de keuken. Veels te jonge bediening, geen volwaardige bediening om deze veels te jonge groep op weg te helpen. Aan meerdere recensies af te leiden dat dit al heel lang geval is.

Bad and inattentive service. After about half an hour of ordering, I was informed that my dish had run out. The food was served lukewarm. However, the quality of the food was good. Beautiful tables at the windows were marked as reserved, sometimes no one came or they were given to spontaneous regular guests / locals, but not to tourists.

A nice restaurant with a pleasant summer terrace. Unfortunately the service was bad. We waited over an hour for our order!!! It was really terrible! The singer saved the situation with her music program. It was a lot of fun to listen! It was Friday. I therefore recommend that you visit this restaurant only if you want to listen to music and drink a glass of wine or beer.

So far okay. You should be careful with the bill. Even though everything was read out correctly, you have a beer for 7! Euros were charged for what we hadn't eaten. So: view the invoice beforehand, check it, and only then pay. Unfortunately, trust is no longer...

Onverwacht richting strand en dachten lekker te lunchen. Eenvoudige kaart waar we fish en chips van uitkozen. De prijs € 18,50 stond niet in verhouding tot de kwaliteit. Een lekkerbekje uit de vriezer wat naar ons idee onder de lamp was warm gehouden en op het bord zat geen garnering maar friet was veel. Het personeel had het druk met elkaar en zichzelf. Er gingen ook klanten weg zonder gebruikt te hebben.

There really weren't many people there, it was nowhere near full. Yet it always took a long time before you were helped, even though there were 4 people waiting around.

If you are just late for lunch, just smile sweetly at the most handsome chef in Het Centrum. Then he will probably make an exception :)

Nice location on the beach. It took almost 1 hour for our order to arrive (bouncer). Very long, but it was tasty. It was quite busy, but not super busy.

Helaas heb ik geen goede ervaring in dit strandpaviljoen. Het was niet erg druk maar moesten lang wachten op onze drankjes. Ook vrij jong personeel die te vaak meer met elkaar bezig waren dan met de klanten. Wij bestelde 2x saté van de haas. Moesten een half uur wachten en begrepen later waarom. Eten was lauw dus waren ons waarschijnlijk vergeten. Had het nog kunnen snappen dat het wat langer duurde als het heel druk was geweest. Als klap op de vuurpijl kregen we dus lauw eten maar bij 2 hoofdmenu maar 1 schaaltje friet. Ma daar wat van gezegd te hebben kregen we een bordje friet maar ook deze kwam te laat en het hoofdgerecht was al bijna op. Op de rekening €6 extra voor de friet en voor de frietsaus moest ook apart een eurootje per klein bakje worden betaald. Nee voor geen 2x meer. Jammer …..

Wrong order (while the receipt was good), twice dirty wine glasses, beer glass had a shard from the drinking rim. One staff member wasn't really having her day either...

Tijdens mijn bezoek aan Strandpaviljoen ’t Centrum begon ik met een heerlijk biertje van de tap, een Skumkoppe. Een fijn, smaakvol biertje dat perfect past bij de ontspannen sfeer van de zaak. Daarna koos ik voor een Paulaner op fles, ook een uitstekende keuze. Als voorgerecht nam ik het breekbrood, dat echt heerlijk was. De combinatie met aioli, kruidenboter en tapenade maakte het helemaal af. Een aanrader voor iedereen die van een lekkere starter houdt! Het hoofdgerecht bestond uit frietjes, mayonaise, salade en een schnitzel. Helaas viel de schnitzel wat tegen. Varkensvlees kan soms een hit of mis zijn, en deze keer was het helaas een mis. De schnitzel miste smaak en was niet van de kwaliteit die ik had gehoopt. De locatie zelf is prachtig. een grote, mooie zaak met een fijne uitstraling. Al met al een gemengd gevoel – de sfeer en voorgerechten en bediening waren top, maar het hoofdgerecht liet te wensen over.

Walking Christmas dinner. What a choice! What quality! Went here on Boxing Day with my wife and parents-in-law. Cozy atmosphere and delicious food. Plenty of choice. Service dressed for the occasion and were attentive. Had a very nice evening. Next year again?!

Very pleasant restaurant. Warm, calm beautiful music. Fireplace and candlelight everywhere. Best bitterball garnish so far. French coffee very good. We'd love to come back.

Today we took a trip to Kattwijk. We traveled with five dogs and felt very comfortable in the beach house. We ate very well and were very satisfied. The dogs weren't a problem there anyway 👍 we'll definitely come back next time we visit the lake 😊

Hello, You guys forgot to put in the bill the table that is next to the main door outside. I was today with my girlfriend (after that we moved inside, but we have paid for that)

Heel veel tafels maar ook heel veel gereserveerd. En als je vraagt kan ik heel even kopje koffie drinken is het antwoord dat je dan niet bedient wordt als je aan een gereserveerde tafel gaat zitten heel kortaf. Jammer … je kan maar een keer eerste indruk maken…

Very unfriendly service. Although we had permission to sit at the table with another guest, we were very unfriendly and harshly chased away by the waitress. Therefore I can't say anything about food and drinks. It's better to go to one of the other pavilions, the people there are very friendly.

The food was not necessarily very special, but just good and tasty to eat. In terms of appearance, it lacked some atmosphere for me, but I still enjoyed sitting on the terrace.

Most rude and unfriendly staff. The lady from the bar was kind, I'm sorry she has to work in such an environment.

Unfortunately, the spareribs we ordered were not tasty. Completely stiff instead of cooked and not marinated properly. White meat, no grilled taste, no crispy outside or something like that. The spicy taste should come from a kind of spring roll sauce that comes with it. Very unfortunate, because the meat was tough and tasteless. Service and atmosphere are really good. Service is smooth and friendly despite the crowds. This is also all indicated at the operator.

We picked this spot to lay at the beach and rent their chairs with the promise that we could buy the beer at the restaurant. After 2 hours the new waitress treated us horribly and refused to sell anything with the excuse that they were “under staff” even though we would take the beer ourselves. We wanted to stay for dinner but they said it was full, the Restaurant was completely empty. We will definitely never go back.
