Suri-Jawa in Breda centrum

The staff was very friendly, even on the phone, so absolutely no complaints there. The food, however, gets a 1 from me. I ordered a large chicken roti: the portion was generous, truly amazing, but the food itself, unfortunately, wasn't. The roti plate wasn't fresh, completely dried out and hard, clearly reheated and wrapped in plastic. The chicken hadn't been cleaned; the skin was still on, with even the feathers and hairs visible. The flavors of the chicken, long beans, and potatoes didn't blend well, and so much curry was used that it overpowered everything. Unfortunately, I had to throw it all away, a real waste of money. If you're a true roti connoisseur, I don't recommend this restaurant.

The food was so good! We spent €31 on a chicken roti, gado gado with an extra bowl of noodles (which was way too much, enough for two more meals), and a bojo for dessert. Definitely enough for a second meal for two people. An amazing deal for the price! The photo shows how little impact a full stomach has on the amount of food there was.

Delicious roti and excellent service! We got roti here and were extremely satisfied. The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was truly delicious – full of flavor and well-seasoned. My husband was even impressed with how good it was, and that says a lot! Definitely recommended. We'd love to come back.

The food was all delicious. I did expect the chicken spring roll to be a bit bigger. I will definitely come back here when I am in Breda again. The atmosphere could be better. It is all very simply decorated but again the food was really delicious!

We didn't know this hidden gem yet, but boy, what delicious food they have here 😍. We went for the cave Berkat (Javanese Rice Table). We called in advance and within a short time we could pick up our meal. It was a true taste explosion when we got home and the portions were more than enough so we could enjoy it again the next day with the 2 of us. The ingredients were fresh and especially the chicken was wonderfully tender and in combination with the homemade peanut sauce makes us definitely come back here more often. Best there is, there is a Hindustani on the corner.. but you don't want to go there. Started with a bami because nasi was gone,, a few weeks later today, nasi sate tello. Chicken curry sandwich. And stuffed Barra... This was literally the best chicken curry sandwich ever. I will come back, the man himself is very nice and service oriented

On our way home from the South of France we ended up here to pick up some Surinamese food. Friendly service and a good Surinamese menu. Spring rolls were delicious and so were the bami and chicken satay. Large portions. We'll eat the saoto soup tomorrow. Bakabana was also as it should be with a delicious peanut sauce. If we're in the area I'll definitely come back.

What a wonderful experience we have! When I picked it up, the gentleman gave me a detailed explanation of how to serve the dish and eat it with the family so that, as he called it, a taste explosion would occur. And not a word of that was a lie. Delicious food Thanks 🙏 5 stars

I came here by chance because the restaurant I wanted to go to was closed. The 5 star rating, on the other hand, is no coincidence. Good quality, large portions and very reasonable prices. At first I thought they had accidentally given me an extra bowl. You can eat it for 2 to 3 days. Terimah kasih banyak 🙏

Pick up delicious food from Suri-Jawa from Rotterdam to Breda. Authentic Javanese food... as if you were with your aunt and uncle in Lelydorp. Highly recommended.

This is really by far the best Surinamese Javanese catering establishment in all of Brabant. I had gado gado, vegetarian nasi, pink crepes for dessert and a homemade pink coconut drink to go with it. I was pleasantly surprised when the containers of food were opened at home. Everything was so freshly prepared and clearly even placed and decorated in the containers with great care. It looked great, it smelled great, it was great for the money and it tasted great. As a vegetarian you can enjoy fantastic food here!! Highly recommended. I will become a regular customer <3

Insane!!! Where do i even begin? Kind cashier who helped us decide what to pick in their extensive menu. We decided on the big rice plate. This food was enough for 4 people easily. We took some bakbana (they gave us some free extra bakpana and peanut sauce). The portion was insanely big and prepared like a real surinamese grandma would do (i assume, i am not surinamese). I would go here again and everything was 25 euros!!!! That is easily less then 10 euro per person for a royally big dish. No place to sit but atmosphere still great!! Amazing place 11/10

We are usually skeptical about Javanese-Surinamese takeaway restaurants. (I am a Surinamese woman myself). As soon as I stepped inside I told my friend. "It smells so good here. But Wow, the food was super tasty and lots of it! My compliments. My opinion... so far the best in Breda!! We had berkat and Javanese noodles/nasi with stewed chicken and baka banana.

Authentic Surinamese food, food purchased several times and always of the same quality. Berkat recommended! Food is prepared with love and you can tell. You won't find better authentic Surinamese food.

Super tasty food, really enjoyed the delicious food. Delicious, tender chicken (my cat also liked it, who is really picky🤣). The portions are generous. I'm a big eater, but I can eat it for 3 days. Super tasty food after a day in Breda! The dishes are well seasoned and well cooked! My sister and I had the Roti & the Bami. Good portions! The small version is big enough for 1 person and even though I am a real meat eater, I decided to also take the Gado Gado, and to my surprise I was also very satisfied with this. You can certainly eat the Gado Gado with 2 people! And because the owner was also very friendly, we will definitely come back to Suri Jawa when we are in Breda again! Greetings from Zeeland! ❤🇸🇷

Finally a good warung in Breda! You no longer have to go to R'dam for a saoto! And the teloterie is also recommended. I still have to taste the rest!

50 minutes drive from Belgium. And honestly that food was great. Plus the people who work there are very friendly. I will definitely come by more often🤝thank you for the good services and hopefully you can extend it to 2024🤝.

People from Breda, forget faffie and forget milobi.... everyone has their preference but if you really want good food of real Surinamese Javanese quality then this is the place to order and enjoy the food. Everything is freshly prepared and without MSG flavor enhancers as it should be... authentic food from a chicken curry sandwich to an extensive meal. Definitely a big 10 and highly recommended!!!!

Met zijn tweeën een grote Javaanse rijsttafel… heeeeelemaal fantastisch! Het eten is super en de uitleg die we hadden gekregen over hoe het te eten was echt top. Alles door elkaar, vlees van het bot halen en genieten maar. Hier komen wij zeker terug! We hadden hief makkelijk met 4-6 van kunnen eten👏

Top eten, en niet duur, had een Roti kipfilet, kan er 2 dagen van eten.

Ik heb de roti besteld. Het smaakte heerlijk, ze hebben een klant erbij gekregen.

Vanaf het begin heb ik mijzelf elke keer afgevraagd hoe het eten zou smaken bij deze restaurant. Op mijn vrije dag eindelijk de tijd en moeite genomen om hier eten te halen. De nasi met kip en de Roti. Het voelde alsof ik een “home cooked meal” had Inplaats van “take-out”. Het was zalig en veel. De mevrouw die op dat moment aan het werk was, was zo vriendelijk. Ze verontschuldigde zich over de lekkage bij de buren. Mevrouw aangegeven dat zij er niks aan kan doen en dat het oké was. Echt wat een geweldige mensen. De passie en liefde zie je terug in het eten. Zeker een nieuwe toevoeging aan mijn favoriet. Ik hoop stiekem dat ze binnenkort roti rol gaan verkopen. Ik ben gewoon te lui om de roti te eten zoals het is 🤍maar hoe dan ook het was top💪

Eerste keer deze toko geprobeerd en gozer, wat een geweldige vent. Vertelde met alle vreugd en passie over het javaanse eten. Er is voor de berkat gekozen en dit is zeer aan te raden! Grote portie voor een hele mooie prijs. 5 sterren zeker waard!

Vanavond heerlijk gegeten. Echt een topzaak op de Haagdijk! Vriendelijke eigenaar. En zoals de tip die jullie hebben gegeven hebben wij alles gemixt in een grote ovenschaal ;). Super lekkere smaken en grote porties. Wij komen zeker weten terug om meer lekkers te halen.

Afgelopen dinsdag voor het eerst geweest en zal niet de laatste keer zijn. Heerlijke Berkat besteld. Was echt authentiek. Voor wie niet weet wat dat is: BESTELLEN! Eigenaar was ook supervriendelijk en de hoeveelheid was behoorlijk. Laat de eenvoud van de buitenkant je niet misleiden. Nu hoef ik niet meer naar Den Haag voor authentiek Surinaams-Javaans eten.

Verkopen de lekkerste brekat in Nederland. Eten is superlekker, leuke en gezellige sfeer.Als ik in de buurt ben kom ik zeker weer langs. Groetjes Frans en Jeanette uit limburg🙂

Nieuwe tent met heerlijke Roti & Saoto soep! Zitten er net vijf maandjes maar hopelijk blijven ze nog een lange tijd hier zitten. Wij hebben in ieder geval lekker gegeten hier, komen zeker terug! Enige tip is misschien iets meer sfeer aanbrengen in de zaak zelf, maar dat komt zeker goed denk ik.

Was mijn eerste keer. Deze keer voor Roti gegaan, was de beste die ik Breda heb gegeten. Volgende keer ga ik voor de Javaanse rijstafel.

Twee keer afgehaald. Een rijsttafel en een keer nasi sate. Beide keren was het zeer goed! Porties zijn ook ruim.

Heerlijk eten!! De volgende keer dat we in Breda zijn, gaan we hier zeker weer eten halen.

Ik had een Javaanse nasi kipfilet met saté en een grote saoto. Het was lekker en ik kom zeker terug! Eindelijk weer een lekker Surinaams restaurant in de stad. En niet te vergeten super vriendelijk personeel 👍🏼

Heel knap wat deze kokkin doet! Drie dagen met zijn tweeën gegeten van de grote berkat, en 's nachts in mijn dromen kwamen de warungs van Domburg, Lelydorp en Ansoe-veer weer terug....Geweldig, tot snel!

Berkat was heerlijk echt een grote portie heb het 2 dagen lang gegeten. Echt goed voor de prijs. Echt Surinaams eten geen namaak geweldig💯💯💯💯.

Heeeeeeerlijk eten!! Ik had een bakabana, saté stokjes en een kleine roti. De bakabana was perfect met een heerlijk smeuïge banaan. De kip saté zaten mega grote stukken kip aan & de saté saus is echt perfect!! & dan de roti , ja ook gewoon perfect. Kan er niks anders over zeggen. 😁 Echt geweldig lekker gegeten! Zet hem op met alles! ( de bakabana staat niet op de foto die was binnen 5 seconden al op 😂)

Vandaag voor het eerst eten gehaald hier,maar ga er zeker vaker heen. Vriendelijke mensen en echt super goed eten en veel. Had een grote roti met kipstukken, smaakte echt super!
