I ordered my wife a birthday cake while on vacation. Even though her birthday was on a public holiday (Easter Monday), Ms. Maat conjured up a beautiful and delicious birthday cake that I was able to pick up at her private home at 10:30. Thanks alot! Our whole family was thrilled! :-)

The bread and cake are good. The coffee they serve is really bad. The espresso tasted like poorly made ground coffee. A modern machine might be wise.

Hogerstraat 4We took our first bike trip to Texel and were happy to find places to stop for a bite to eat in Den Burg. I was somewhat surprised by the spacious layout of this self-service bakery. The selection is fantastic, the staff very friendly, and the terrace in the pedestrian zone is very comfortable. If we're ever back on Texel, we'll be back.
