What a fantastic restaurant this is! We went here for my mother's birthday, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. They truly understand hospitality! The restaurant itself is incredibly cozy and has a beautiful view of the IJssel River. We had, among other things, a delicious stew and satay. We'll be back soon!

If I could give the food 0 stars, I would. The quality of the new Diekhuus is gone, and the quality promised on Jeff's website is also nowhere to be found. The menu has only just launched. There's no taste, creativity, or love for food to be found. A huge disappointment, and especially compared to the previous one, a real shame. P.S.: The staff is fantastic, as always.

We had a wonderful drinks reception on a sunny Sunday afternoon. It was in a fantastic location with wonderful hosts (fast, personalized service). The host was also happy to share ideas and explain the wines. The wine and snacks were excellent. We'll definitely be back!

The new concept isn't working yet. People who came here for the good food have lost out to those who stop by for a break from their bike or motorcycle rides.

What a beautiful place! From the terrace, you have a fantastic view of the IJssel River and the Deventer skyline – that alone is worth it. The restaurant has a charming, chic atmosphere, and the service is friendly and attentive. The food was truly outstanding: carefully prepared, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. The regular team is incredibly hospitable and goes above and beyond to make the experience perfect. Just the way it should be in the hospitality industry, but you don't see that often these days. Beautiful location, right on the water. The service was friendly and clearly knew what they were talking about. The food fits the name "Farmhouse" perfectly; it's fresh, honest, and truly farm-grown. I was a bit worried it might veer towards classic French cuisine with small portions, but thankfully that wasn't the case. Good plates, great flavors, and the prices are also just right. Highly recommended!

Delicious, truly good food. Nice cava, good red wine. Everything was perfectly seasoned and served at the right temperature. However, they were short-staffed. We waited 45 minutes for our main course. Friendly staff, nice location. But for this price, you'd expect better service. Furthermore, the windows were dirty, and the terrace hadn't been swept, even though the view is a major selling point of this restaurant. There was a large dead fly next to me, and we were also bothered by flies. For these reasons, we're hesitant to go again.

Not a pleasant introduction to a new concept. We were greeted by an unfriendly, arrogant young man who still has a lot to learn about hospitality. For us, that was the reason we decided to leave it at that.

Friendly service, still delicious wine, and a fantastic view. Only the time between courses was very long, even though there were only a few tables. The shepherd's pie was really good, and the multiple cauliflower preparations were the most disappointing. The onion tart was tasty but different than expected.

Saturday afternoon June 28, 2025 chef menu It was quite a disappointment. A new chef from May, but also the organization, logistics, attention to the guest was below par. With a chef menu during lunch you don't have a choice, so you can be unlucky. But the garnishes were disappointing. The logistics, the time between the dishes was also below par. It seemed as if the kitchen was on pause mode. The explanation regarding ingredients was superficial. The great powerful wine was nowhere to be found. All attention went to the terrace and the preparation of the evening terrace. Advice: cancel the chef menu at lunch and concentrate on the afternoon and evening. Not to forget; we got fries without asking, which was on the bill. We left it like that. Fam. Gielkens, Deventer

Since we had just arrived at the mini-campsite 500 meters further we had a quick lunch here. Super friendly welcome, quickly helped and excellent food. Next time definitely again!

The restaurant has a nice view above the canal. The food was great. The service was a bit slow because we got there right between the lunch and dinner time (when I suppose they get their lunch time). But we enjoyed the scenery and they compensated by making the best grilled chicken for my kid.

And after the meal she came to chat with us. The first cup of coffee was a bit lukewarm and we were offered 2 new coffees. Great food, both the vegetarian surprise menu and the surprise menu with meat were delicious. A beautiful mix of flavors that really complemented each other. Very nice presentation of the dishes and the skyline of Deventer as a backdrop. Haven't had such a good dinner in a long time. It was more than worth the wait! We will definitely come back and enjoy the other specialties on the menu. Also nice wine by the way.

Jeff's Farmhouse has reopened with a fresh start and remains a top location for lunch or dinner. The new menu is more accessible and offers the familiar lunch classics in a pleasant setting. There are still some small points of improvement, but all in all a successful reopening. Recommended!

5 course tasting menu. Oysters for starters. Great dishes. Nice wine pairings too. Worth the detour.

If you have a good kitchen and charge high prices, you expect a lot from the service. And yes the food was good, although €37 for two soles with accents on the tongue, it is the details that complete it. No dressed table with linen, bread but forget the butter and oil, festival cutlery (replace it but do not remove it for the dish), no plates with the oysters, do not serve dessert at the same time, ask for espresso and serve decaf. I think paying €250 for a dinner with a bottle of wine is way too little. In short, the food quality is good, the rest quite mediocre. Shame.

Yes..... this restaurant is better than you could expect, when you receive and place it, you immediately look like a living painting over the IJssel, especially with that much water. Clear explanation of the menu selection of the options. Taste and variety of the dishes as well as the service PRIMA. Kudos to the Nieuwe Diekhuus team. I highly recommend this restaurant!!

It had been a long time since I had eaten in the (then old) Diekhuus. I've always had good memories of that. Both private and business. Last Saturday I went there for lunch with our children for my birthday. We got a nice table at the large window with a view of the beautiful IJssel and its floodplains and Deventer on the other side. Outside the sun and rain alternated. In short: all signals are green for a delicious and relaxing lunch :-) And that's what it became. We took the 12 hour (2x meat and 1x fish) and ordered a good bottle of wine. Fortunately, you can still order a carafe of (tap) water here without seeing it reflected on the bill. The 12-hour meals were served in 3 courses and everything tasted very good. I'm not a culinary reviewer so I'm not going to describe all the dishes and flavors. Everyone should come and experience that for themselves. We simply had a delicious and very pleasant lunch together and enjoyed the hospitality, craftsmanship and the atmospheric environment. I will be back soon but with my wife and for dinner.

A phenomenally beautiful place. That view is fantastic. Nice restaurant too, nice atmosphere. The cuisine is excellent. We had a 6 course menu (€325 for 2). Varied flavors, beautiful pictures on the plate, good harmony and balance. Very good. But it was hot,... unpleasant. There is air conditioning but it didn't work. Also no windows open. It gave Alice a headache. And the service... let me say, you don't feel welcome. A manager receives us in a very enthusiastic manner. At first you think "is he kidding?" But no, that's his way of doing things. Kind of a wonderful play, very unreal and annoying. The other colleagues were almost sullen. It seems a bit copied from Therese. Thinking back to the evening, we are talking about the treatment and not about the beautiful location or the good cuisine. So no repetition

A restaurant on the dike, with a beautiful view of the IJssel. The food is of a high standard and the staff is professionally attentive. I think the price of wines is just a little too pushy, and I think it's one minus star. The house wine is excellent here!

It was all fine, but it was too hot inside to open the outside doors in the morning.

6 course dinner was great and surprising. A super 6-course dinner was also served for a partner who is vegetarian. Things you have never eaten before but also so tasty. This is the second time we have eaten here and certainly not the last time. In one word TOP.

Celebrated my birthday here this week with a group of 17 people for lunch. We had the terrace to ourselves, the service was excellent and the four courses we ordered were absolutely fantastic. Very nice place, friendly people and an unforgettable experience, I can recommend this to everyone.

Delicious meal with a view of the IJssel. Eur 180 for starter, main and dessert with 3 drinks and a bottle of still water for EUR 175. An appetizer for that price would not have been out of place on an evening with the NL football World Cup where it was certainly not busy. Friendly service.

The Ceviche had a good balance of taste main of meat well prepared with nice vegetables. Goor dessert. They also offer a simpler lunch option.

The place is bit out of the way, but still a short bike ride from Deventer train station. The welcoming of our part of 4 was very classy - they took our coats with a smile and a gentleman led us to our table of 4. We choose the menu - appetiser - main course and dessert - for one set price - but we had each course 2 choices - The wine was chosen by my brother and put in a carafe - very nice. The food was presented in a lovely way and the service and the explanation of the dishes was beyond expectation. We'll be back. The bill (although I did not see it) would be over 250 euros including freshly squeezed orange juice and a bottle of wine (and glass of rosé, champagne and white wine).

The waiter made a crooked face and after a moment of hesitation he literally said "come on, I don't want to scare you away"....?????? How inhospitable can you be 😡

Ambiance en uitzicht prima. Echter duidelijk overprijsd, waarbij oester 3 x over de kop gaat en kreeftencoktail ad € 21,75 voornamelijk gevuld was met bospeen. Ik gun horecaondernemers veel maar dit is echt schandalig gegraai! Als jullie het niet meer normaal kunnen verdienen... gewoon stoppen!

Erg genoten van een gevarieerd 5 gangen menu. Vriendelijke bediening, goede sommelier en het tempo van de gangen was perfect.

Great location overviewing the river and the city of Deventer. Definitely a great chef that is very creative in making beautiful dishes from the best and fresh ingredients. Just try the Tasting Menu and let yourself be surprised. The skilled staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They perfectly tie together the great dishes and the beautiful view. We had a great wine selection (one from their own vineyard) to complement a marvelous dinner. Definitely highly recommended and well worth the trip!

Was een heerlijk zondagmiddag. Uitzicht vanaf het terras is uitstekend. Wijnkaart prima. Geen enkel gerecht viel tegen. Uiteindelijk tot 15:30 genoten van de IJssel. Enige aanmerking is dat de kaart met een menu per tafel, keuzemenu, a la carte en lunchkaart even puzzelen is, wanneer niet iedereen in het gezelschap hetzelfde wil.
