The restaurant has a beautiful and pleasantly quiet location by the water. There is a choice of various outdoor terrace seating areas with a view of the water. The service was friendly and the staff also took the time for a chat. We used a Social Deal offer; the pancake was very tasty but just slightly overcooked or overcooked. I deliberately did not comment on it as it did not detract from the flavor.

Well, it looked nice and cozy, but we arrived around 3:15 PM and didn't leave until 50 minutes later! We waited 36 minutes before we could order, and we ordered ice tea, which also only arrived after 17 minutes. They also say very nicely that dogs are welcome, but when we asked for a bowl of water for the dog, they forgot it at first, so we had to wait again, and then the dog got a dirty bowl of water with all kinds of filth swirling around in it. It is also very expensive, but that is the case everywhere these days!

Had a wonderful time sitting on the terrace by the IJssel in the last rays of the sun. Top location with great food and friendly, attentive service!

We had a lovely meal with our 2-year-old grandson. What we particularly appreciated was the really fun play area for children. We sat there for 2 hours without any issues. And the slightly longer wait for our food was immediately compensated for with a drink on the house.👍

Nice outdoor spot, good atmosphere. But... service was very slow, even though we were the only customers. Unfortunately, the food wasn't good either. The pancake was much too hard and too thin, and the bun tasted like it came from the supermarket. A disappointment for us, unfortunately...

The idea was to go eat pancakes. Hardly saw any service, and after an hour and a half, still hadn't seen a pancake. Had tasty fries at a snack bar in Terwolde.

We had something to celebrate... we checked the menu on the website beforehand, it looked good. Upon arrival, the menu was quite stripped down, a shame. There were a lot of different types of pancakes, though... We had ordered drinks with our meal. Unfortunately, after asking several times, the answer was, "We will be with you shortly. One moment, please." (It wasn't busy.) When we had finished our food, after some angry reactions, the drinks finally arrived. (On the house, with apologies.) Never again.

There was a big sign saying Welcome! Coffee with apple pie. 10:30 AM; parked the bikes and took the dog out of the basket. We walked to the entrance: “No, closed,” said a gentleman. “We don’t open until 11 o’clock.” I pointed out that the sign said Welcome. “Oh yes, *that*,” he said. Very customer-friendly indeed. So we left and weren't welcome.

What a fantastic place! Jeff’s Farmhouse is a restaurant where hospitality, coziness, and delicious food come together. The pancakes are truly amazing: freshly prepared and incredibly tasty. Extra admiration for the team, who persevered despite two years of roadworks and a closed dike. That says it all about their passion and dedication. The festive event to celebrate the reopening of the road with unlimited pancakes right in the middle of the road was original, atmospheric, and perfectly organized. There were seven of us there, and we had a wonderful afternoon. The service is incredibly friendly, the atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and you feel welcome from the very first moment. This is the kind of place you are happy to go out of your way for. Highly recommended for young and old. We will definitely be back!

What a wonderful experience at Jeff's. The food was truly fantastic and everything looked beautiful on the plates. The dessert with the red fruit sauce and the crispy waffle was an absolute highlight. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant, and it is clear that a lot of attention is paid to the presentation. We really enjoyed the carefully prepared dishes here. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good food.

Unfortunately, the restaurant was understaffed. The food is delicious and the location is fantastic. So if you are not in a rush, this is a lovely place.

For three people, we had reserved a table outside on the terrace a few days prior to our visit. That reservation was gratefully accepted. When we arrived, we were turned away. No space, no staff. They couldn't even manage an apology. We give this experience zero stars. Almost insulting.

We have dined at Jeff's Farmhouse once before and were wildly enthusiastic about what was on offer. The welcome, the food, the ambiance. In a word, delicious! Last weekend, we wanted a good friend and his wife to experience this as well. Unfortunately! The beautiful concept has been ruined by a pancake house. Sure, we could have known this if we had looked at the menu at home. Too bad. Unfortunately, this also meant that the dinner menu had been changed. It was tasty, but no longer the quality it used to have. Simple dishes like fish and chips, grandma's stew, and a Black Angus burger. It is a real shame that the old menu had to make way for these "convenience" dishes. We also had to wait a long time for the dishes to arrive at the table. A plus point must be given to the dessert: strawberry parfait. In one word, divine! It is just a pity that even this delicious dessert unfortunately didn't really help the rest of the dinner.

The food was very fresh and delicious. The outdoor seating is quite nice, with a river view.

The staff seems to still need some time to get used to things. But the service is friendly. Lunch was fine.

Disappointing experience. It started with them forgetting to chill the beer kegs. There were only three of Grandma's stew left, but there were six of us. We had a mustard soup and a carpaccio as a starter, which were fine. To be honest, the main course was a disappointment. Fish and chips tasted like Iglo's Crispino, the satay wasn't warm and wasn't very flavorful. The mayonnaise came in a tube on our plate, and the fries were tough and not very warm. The restaurant was otherwise empty. We made a reservation for 7:30 PM, and at 9:30 PM we were asked if we wanted to pay because the waiters had already finished and wanted to leave. Incidentally, the young man serving was excellent! And the location is fantastic too. However, the pancake house concept with a regular dinner menu is also inconsistent and doesn't match the restaurant's atmosphere. All in all, a disappointing experience. To be honest, we already thought the prices were low, which perhaps explains the quality of the food. The tip would be, make it a bit more expensive, but also give quality food.

I went here for lunch with two friends. I hadn't heard of it, but what a lovely place. It was quiet, but that didn't bother us, of course. The decor is very cozy. Friendly and efficient staff. We had a delicious latte macchiato, and our sandwiches and pancakes were truly delicious. One of the friends had a salmon sandwich; she got an incredible amount of salmon, and my crispy chicken sandwich was also generously filled and delicious. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back. Even if it's just to enjoy the beautiful view (on the terrace). Highly recommended. Good luck, Jef!

In May, t Diekhuus launched a completely new concept, Jeff's Farmhouse. The beautiful location remains, of course, and the interior hasn't changed. However, the menu has changed completely; simple, contemporary dishes that retain virtually no trace of the former chic and exclusive atmosphere. The flavors are excellent, the prices are average. Unfortunately, a mistake was made, and we had to wait a very long time for our main courses, which happens. But not once asking if our empty glasses needed refilling, clearing our plates after the main course, not asking if we wanted anything else, and not even coming back for 20 minutes, which I find really long. We finally got up to order a full coffee ourselves. Unfortunately, the three sweets we received seemed to have come straight out of a package, and we barely saw any service even then. We were able to pay quickly, but when we left the restaurant, there was no service to be seen again. There's nothing left of t Diekhuus, suitable for a quick bite to eat, but not the service for a pleasant evening out.

What a fantastic restaurant this is! We went here for my mother's birthday, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. They truly understand hospitality! The restaurant itself is incredibly cozy and has a beautiful view of the IJssel River. We had, among other things, a delicious stew and satay. We'll be back soon!

If I could give the food 0 stars, I would. The quality of the new Diekhuus is gone, and the quality promised on Jeff's website is also nowhere to be found. The menu has only just launched. There's no taste, creativity, or love for food to be found. A huge disappointment, and especially compared to the previous one, a real shame. P.S.: The staff is fantastic, as always.

We had a wonderful drinks reception on a sunny Sunday afternoon. It was in a fantastic location with wonderful hosts (fast, personalized service). The host was also happy to share ideas and explain the wines. The wine and snacks were excellent. We'll definitely be back!

The new concept isn't working yet. People who came here for the good food have lost out to those who stop by for a break from their bike or motorcycle rides.

What a beautiful place! From the terrace, you have a fantastic view of the IJssel River and the Deventer skyline – that alone is worth it. Beautiful location, right on the water. The service was friendly and clearly knew what they were talking about. The food fits the name "Farmhouse" perfectly; it's fresh, honest, and truly farm-grown. I was a bit worried it might veer towards classic French cuisine with small portions, but thankfully that wasn't the case. Good plates, great flavors, and the prices are also just right. Highly recommended!

Delicious, truly good food. Nice cava, good red wine. Everything was perfectly seasoned and served at the right temperature. However, they were short-staffed. We waited 45 minutes for our main course. Friendly staff, nice location. But for this price, you'd expect better service. Furthermore, the windows were dirty, and the terrace hadn't been swept, even though the view is a major selling point of this restaurant. There was a large dead fly next to me, and we were also bothered by flies. For these reasons, we're hesitant to go again.

Not a pleasant introduction to a new concept. We were greeted by an unfriendly, arrogant young man who still has a lot to learn about hospitality. For us, that was the reason we decided to leave it at that.

Friendly service, still delicious wine, and a fantastic view. Only the time between courses was very long, even though there were only a few tables. The shepherd's pie was really good, and the multiple cauliflower preparations were the most disappointing. The onion tart was tasty but different than expected.

Saturday afternoon June 28, 2025 chef menu It was quite a disappointment. A new chef from May, but also the organization, logistics, attention to the guest was below par. With a chef menu during lunch you don't have a choice, so you can be unlucky. But the garnishes were disappointing. The logistics, the time between the dishes was also below par. It seemed as if the kitchen was on pause mode. The explanation regarding ingredients was superficial. The great powerful wine was nowhere to be found. All attention went to the terrace and the preparation of the evening terrace. Advice: cancel the chef menu at lunch and concentrate on the afternoon and evening. Not to forget; we got fries without asking, which was on the bill. We left it like that. Fam. Gielkens, Deventer

Since we had just arrived at the mini-campsite 500 meters further we had a quick lunch here. Super friendly welcome, quickly helped and excellent food. Next time definitely again!

The restaurant has a nice view above the canal. The food was great. The service was a bit slow because we got there right between the lunch and dinner time (when I suppose they get their lunch time). But we enjoyed the scenery and they compensated by making the best grilled chicken for my kid.

And after the meal she came to chat with us. The first cup of coffee was a bit lukewarm and we were offered 2 new coffees. Great food, both the vegetarian surprise menu and the surprise menu with meat were delicious. A beautiful mix of flavors that really complemented each other. Very nice presentation of the dishes and the skyline of Deventer as a backdrop. Haven't had such a good dinner in a long time. It was more than worth the wait! We will definitely come back and enjoy the other specialties on the menu. Also nice wine by the way.

Jeff's Farmhouse has reopened with a fresh start and remains a top location for lunch or dinner. The new menu is more accessible and offers the familiar lunch classics in a pleasant setting. There are still some small points of improvement, but all in all a successful reopening. Recommended!

Gisteren hier weer gegeten, na een hartelijke ontvangst kregen we een mooie tafel. We hadden gekozen voor het Valentijns diner. Eerst een heerlijke cava en vervolgens een geweldige combinatie van smaken! We hebben genoten, een absolute aanrader en wij komen hier zeker terug!

If you have a good kitchen and charge high prices, you expect a lot from the service. And yes the food was good, although €37 for two soles with accents on the tongue, it is the details that complete it. No dressed table with linen, bread but forget the butter and oil, festival cutlery (replace it but do not remove it for the dish), no plates with the oysters, do not serve dessert at the same time, ask for espresso and serve decaf. I think paying €250 for a dinner with a bottle of wine is way too little. In short, the food quality is good, the rest quite mediocre. Shame.

Yes..... this restaurant is better than you could expect, when you receive and place it, you immediately look like a living painting over the IJssel, especially with that much water. Clear explanation of the menu selection of the options. Taste and variety of the dishes as well as the service PRIMA. Kudos to the Nieuwe Diekhuus team. I highly recommend this restaurant!!

It had been a long time since I had eaten in the (then old) Diekhuus. I've always had good memories of that. Both private and business. Last Saturday I went there for lunch with our children for my birthday. We got a nice table at the large window with a view of the beautiful IJssel and its floodplains and Deventer on the other side. Outside the sun and rain alternated. In short: all signals are green for a delicious and relaxing lunch :-) And that's what it became. We took the 12 hour (2x meat and 1x fish) and ordered a good bottle of wine. Fortunately, you can still order a carafe of (tap) water here without seeing it reflected on the bill. The 12-hour meals were served in 3 courses and everything tasted very good. I'm not a culinary reviewer so I'm not going to describe all the dishes and flavors. Everyone should come and experience that for themselves. We simply had a delicious and very pleasant lunch together and enjoyed the hospitality, craftsmanship and the atmospheric environment. I will be back soon but with my wife and for dinner.
