The Hotel "Lands End" lives up to its name – it's located at the very edge of Den Helder, right next to the TESO ferry terminal for Texel and the Marsdiep, the North Sea channel between Den Helder and the island of Texel. The hotel is a rather modern, but also rather unattractive, concrete building with an unobstructed view across the sea to Texel. There's ample parking available in front. Officially, parking is limited to four hours, so be sure to provide your license plate number to reception. The receptionist was friendly, the lady spoke English, and check-in was quick and easy. The rooms are accessible by elevator. There are rooms with views of the parking lot and the ferry terminal, but the extra cost for a deluxe room with a sea view is definitely worth it. It's wonderful to sit on the balcony, gaze towards Texel, and watch the ferries. ... There's no beach directly in front of the hotel – the shoreline is partly grassy and partly paved, and not designated for swimming. The actual sandy beach is about 6 km away. The room is spacious enough, spotlessly clean, offers storage space for two suitcases, is equipped with coffee making facilities, and has a balcony with a view. The bathroom was also roomy, absolutely clean, and featured a walk-in shower and soap/shampoo. The breakfast room also offers a sea view. Breakfast is standard fare, without any complaints or exceptional highlights. Overall, the price-performance ratio is good. If we ever find ourselves in Den Helder again, we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I ate a really delicious tuna salad.

Disappointing after previous experiences. We ordered vegetarian croquettes and regular ones. The waiter asked who had the vegetarian ones and then handed over the regular croquettes. After we discovered this and asked which were the regular and which were the vegetarian croquettes, they were taken to the kitchen and immediately brought back with the notification that we had indeed received the meat croquettes. By then they were cold, they were placed back down and we were allowed to exchange them ourselves... truly such poor service. As a vegetarian, you expect to be able to trust that you won't suddenly find yourself gnawing on meat again without your consent.

This is now the second time we've been here, and once again at an incredibly busy time. We had to wait a little while before we could order our drinks, but after that, everything went incredibly smoothly! We were served all evening by a super friendly and enthusiastic lady. Forgetting something can always happen, of course, but she immediately provided a solution, which we really appreciated. We can also only be positive about the food. Everything was exactly to our liking and we ate until our bellies were more than full! 😋 One small point for true meat lovers: we prefer our ribeye to be well seared, but at the same time nice and warm on the inside. 😉 The chef did his best to get this just right, and in the end, the ribeye certainly tasted great! All in all, another very pleasant experience. We will definitely be back! 😊

The food at this restaurant is excellent. The kip satay is highly recommended, as is the burger. The interior is very cozy, and the terrace offers a lovely sea view. Reservations aren't necessary. We'll definitely be back.

Disappointing experience after good experiences in previous years. Dry and windy, perfect weather to sit on the terrace with our dog. We arrived and were served immediately. 16:40. Inquired about the dinner menu, only to be told it would be available from 17:00. At 17:30 we just paid and walked away. If you don't want to serve on the terrace, I would like to hear that. Then I could have asked at that moment if we could sit inside with our dog. But making customers feel unwelcome by ignoring them for 50 minutes is, in my opinion, substandard for a restaurant with this score.

What a disgrace. Waiting way too long for the food, and the drinks only arrived after the meal. Staff walk criss-cross through the place and even dare to speak to you when, after watching your drink sitting on the bar for fifteen minutes with no one bringing it to your table, you go get the drink yourself. To top it all off, hairs in the dessert. We spent two hours here for a main course, two drinks, and a dessert. It was resolved very amicably by lowering the bill, and we certainly saw the humor in it, but it is abundantly clear that there is no management and that no investment has been made in staff with hospitality skills.

Upon arrival (seaside), the waitress opened a door only to say that we were not allowed through it due to the wind. ???? This place does open nice and early on Sundays for the early cyclist. The coffee and apple pie are good. Not cheap.

Quite good and tasty. Soup interesting but maybe would need refining with herbs and for example with soft boiled egg. Burger in the bread roll not warm and it was a mistake. We had a delicious meal. For starters, a mildly spicy carrot and coconut soup and a carpaccio. Afterwards, an excellent trio of fish and tasty chicken satay. With a fantastic view over the harbor and Texel. Next time, when making a reservation, I will immediately ask for a table by the window. This time we were seated slightly towards the middle, but even there, we were in the ambiance of the ferry sailing back and forth and the navy ships.

I sat there for 45 minutes looking for a bite to eat, but no one came. "I should have said I wanted something myself," said a rather disinterested and grumpy waitress. The furniture also looks worn out. It's a lovely location, and I really liked the cappuccino.

You can eat well here for little money. The coffee was excellent. And you can even have a beautiful view of the North Sea.

As the name suggests it is located and the end of the land a funny place called the coast. Got there late in the evening. Staff were friendly and the food was pleasant. After a long day travelling thats more tgen enough.

Very careless with allergies! We had a terrible experience here during a high tea with a large group. One of us has a severe nut allergy, and despite immediately indicating this when booking and calling the restaurant beforehand, things went completely wrong on the day itself. Several times, they incorrectly stated that the snacks didn't contain nuts, while upon closer inspection, they actually did. This happened despite us having again indicated our nut allergy upon arrival. In our opinion, these errors were handled very inhospitably. I rarely leave reviews, but on closer inspection, we felt obligated to warn others with allergies.

Het Veerhuis is a good restaurant right next to the Texel ferry. In the summer, the terrace is a lovely place to relax, especially in the sunshine, overlooking the endless arrivals and departures of the Teso ferry, the activity of ships sailing into the harbor, the navy, and, of course, the Marsdiep canal. In the winter, the indoor seating is also comfortable; it's not cramped, and the service is friendly. The food was excellent, and the wine was delicious! We love coming here.

Last night was delicious! We had a bread board as an appetizer. Then we both had burgers with delicious homemade fries, and our almost-4-year-old daughter absolutely loved the homemade chicken nuggets. They were real chicken breast, not like the usual Mac. And to finish, we had dessert: a children's ice cream, Dame Blanche, and cheesecake. It was incredibly delicious, and we certainly disagree with some of the previous reviews. We'll definitely be back.

We've never had such a bad meal. The steak tartare was inedible, completely flavorless, a lump of meat and an egg yolk that hadn't been seasoned. The sirloin steak was pale and tasteless, and the vegetables on the plate were hard to find with a magnifying glass. The positive reviews are from lunch or from a long time ago, because I can't imagine anyone raving about this place.

Yesterday we celebrated Mom's birthday and went to dinner with 16 people. The food was plentiful and delicious. The service was perfect. We were also a lot of people and therefore a bit louder than many other guests. But it was absolutely delicious and cozy. Definitely recommended.

Let me put it this way... Simply delicious and a great view

Haven't been back in ages! The view is still fantastic, but the quality of the food has deteriorated dramatically. The plating looks beautiful, but it's more salad than main course. The taste and preparation were also very superficial, with little attention paid to it. We received only a lukewarm response when we brought this up to the staff (they can't help it, but they probably heard it ad nauseam). A missed opportunity, Landsend. This isn't how we know this restaurant at all. Perhaps a different owner with different priorities??? Such a shame!

We found the restaurant via Google and are absolutely thrilled. We were here for lunch and had an omelet, a snack platter, and a slice of cake, and it was truly delicious. The coffee (especially the café brulee) was also very, very good. The atmosphere was great, the waiters were super friendly; all in all, the 5 stars are definitely deserved!

We regularly come here for a bite to eat and a Duvel. It's a beautiful location with a fantastic view. Excellent parking. The menu is a bit limited, but what's on it is very good. The service is excellent, very attentive and helpful. I read in reviews that the wait is a bit long, but something has to happen when it's busy! I think it's not too bad, although it seems like people are getting more impatient these days. We love coming here.

The lunch and dinner menu is well-stocked, with something for everyone. You can sit inside or outside on the terrace, and the service is friendly, efficient, and attentive. The restrooms are clean, and parking is free, which is always nice. An ideal place to relax, especially if you're waiting for the ferry to Texel. Highly recommended!

A nice hotel with very friendly staff. The bar is very welcoming. Breakfast is what you'd expect: good and more than adequate. We'll be back soon. As mentioned, we were back on August 9th and 10th. Everyone was very enthusiastic about the location and accommodations. Friendly staff, though a very efficient woman behind the bar. She apologized for the lack of a cold beer (Hertog Jan) on tap. So we were forced to drink the rather expensive Texel beer. It didn't negatively impact the atmosphere. Best regards from Twente

Had a delicious breakfast in a beautiful place

The view is really nice but that was about it. Floor and table were dirty, menu sticky. The melon lemonade tasted rather artificial. Chicken was very dry, drecched with a heavy peanut sauce. Fries were OK but with many black spots that should have been sorted out beforehand. Service was rather slow, focussed more on the outdoor guests with drinks.

Everything was fine, but it could be better explained to people with limited mobility. The walker path wasn't easy to find.

Lovely on the terrace at the top of the dike; watching the boats and for me an omelette and a cup of coffee—what more could you want?

Had reserved for a lunch with 12 people, 1 with a walking aid so on the flat floor. Were emailed in advance on the day itself with the confirmation again. Upon arrival there appear to be two tables pushed together of different widths and it is set for 9 instead of 12. Chairs still had to be found. Taking the orders went smoothly but took a long time before it arrived. The food was fine, only the plate with the uitsmijter was very meager, 2 sandwiches with the uitsmijter on it, no lettuce leaf or anything, looked more like an uitsmijter at a roadside restaurant (which are often even better presented) all in all a purely inferior experience than we are used to from Lands End! Too bad, does not invite you to repeat.

The terrace is the perfect spot for a sundowner. The food is good, the drinks menu is well-stocked, and the staff is very friendly.
