Tante San in Feijenoord

Delicious soup. Nice hospitable service. The food halls are a reverberation pit and with some doors you are almost literally sitting outside when they open.

I’ve been to Rotterdam numerous times in the past and I’ve got to say that over the years it’s a city that gets better & better, especially when it comes to the food scene! I stayed at the Room Mate Bruno Hotel (odd naming) and right next door, connected to the hotel (but not affiliated) is the Foodhallen Rotterdam. Here you’ll find over 10 food stands selling everything from burgers to Korean street food. I decided to try the Indonesian spot, Tante San, and ordered the Beef Rendang. The dish was great, very authentic in flavor and taste! It came with a lot of the side offerings along with a chili sauce that really packs a punch. The only gripe I have was that the veggies that come on the side was a little lackluster, as they tasted a bit “water logged”. There are a lot of vegetarian dishes offered though and I wonder if those may be better… The Foodhallen itself was nice, very clean with high and low top tables and the food stalls were nicely spread out, although some stalls felt “hidden” depending on which entrance you used. Overall, very cool concept and would recommend visiting when in Rotterdam!

Aunt San, your rendang is like bubble gum, tough and muscle, not a rendang. Microwave heat and a 30 minute wait and 18 peak, too bad man but for me this is not a rendang 🥲

Really great option for those who miss Indonesian cuisines…

Satay from the fryer! So bad! And that for 10.50! Nothing authentic and staff who just stubbornly insist that they don't understand you! I speak Dutch, get used to it!

It's a shame to do such violence to Indonesian cuisine. Meat dry and tasteless, small portions. Only the peanut sauce was good. Definitely not recommended.

Foodhal Rotterdam nice place, lots of choice. During lunch I opted for aunt san's saoto soup. My colleagues rendang. The soup was exactly what I expected, full and delicious. The rendang was good but not that spicy. Better to indicate when ordering how spicy you want it. Waiting time wasn't too bad.

The food was just bad. It tasted bland and didn't look appetizing either. It's a shame, because I was very happy.

Noodles have no taste at all, really terrible. Dry salad. No sambal to be found. And I had to wait more than 20 minutes for it. And all that for almost 16 euros. I don't come to the food halls anymore.

Ordered nasi goreng with chicken and was very disappointed. The nasi has no flavour and is dry. Absolutely no effort or love went in this dish. The chicken looked grey and unappealing

Very nice staff, but underwhelming Javanese Nasi Chicken. Rice was dry and lacking flavor, stewed chicken basic. Not a favorite in the Foodhallen.

Perfect place. Usually we could not find good vegan food but in this restaurant we found one the best ones we ever tried

Eten is te doen, maar niet de kwaliteit van a pien die men vroeger gewend was. Ook de hoeveelheid van de porties zijn gehalveerd. Maar niet de prijs, die is echt buiten proportie, maar ja de Food hallen zijn gericht op de rijke Nederlanders. Ik weet niet of deze hele lokatie over 2 jaar nog zal bestaan.

5 star (so rarely given)! Absolutely delicious - best meal I’ve had in years :)

Tante san heeft een stand in de foodhallen Rotterdam. Het is goed te bereiken met het ov, met de auto kan het iets lastiger zijn.lps van de parkeertarieven in de buurt van de kop van zuid. Tante San is heel vriendelijk, heeft zelfs de tijd genomen om even een paar foto's te maken en een babbeltje te doen. De sate was lekker vers voor onze neuzen gegrild en mooi geserveerd op een gevlochten mand met komkomer, kroepoek en atjar. Verder hebben wij ook genoten van ijskoude dawet. Lekker zoet en goed van smaak, door het smeltende ijs heb je zelf in de hand hoe zoet de dawet is. De prijs kwaliteit verhouding is hier dik in orde, het is er gezellig en het eten is met aandacht gemaakt.
