Taormina Express in Centrum

We were in Alkmaar for a week sightseeing, and ever since we arrived at the station and saw the restaurant, we've wanted to try the food. For me, these are the best pizzas in Alkmaar. I ordered a Capicciosa and my partner a pasta Bolognese, and we were both delighted; the portions are super generous. The place is small, as they focus more on delivery, but it has a couple of tables where you can eat. The place is pleasant, and the staff are very friendly. I recommend it. If I return to Alkmaar, I won't hesitate to order another pizza for lunch.

Very tasty spaghetti bolognese, full of flavor and very nice staff, nice atmosphere

Honestly the best lasagna, definitely never change the recipe!! Super.

Sophia Loren in Taormina makes the best pasta there is. They deliver quickly, the food is hot, and the delivery driver is friendly.

Delicious pizzas, truly Italian and friendly people/delivery personnel.

Lovely meal, delivered earlier than expected. Tasty, well filled and very enjoyable

By far the best pizzas from Alkmaar and the surrounding area! Very good base with a tasty tomato sauce and richly toppings. Very friendly staff! Highly recommended!

Very tasty, friendly staff. My son loves it!!

fast service, the pizzas were very tasty and hot, we will definitely order here more often..

For me there is only 1 Italian and that is Taormina.

This is not about the restaurant but Taormina Express close to the train station. Service is TERRIBLE. Very loud music in the shop, bright lights and no atmosphere. The pizza was pretty bland and tasteless. Would not recommend this place!

Delivered fifteen minutes later than requested: I don't know where others get that delicious crispy base from, but I haven't had it yet. Limp and tough. Just like every other pizza maker around here. And whether you pick it up or have it delivered, it's all equally bad. And this is not a grudge or hate assessment, I have nothing with or against those people. They just can't do it. I once ate a delicious pizza: in Venice at an ordinary place. The only difference with the cheaper pizza chains is the price. And that is not to your advantage.....

We ate delicious pizzas here. The pizzas arrived warm and had a nice crispy base, the patate e salsiccia pizza is highly recommended. If you're craving Italian food, I recommend ordering here.

Order was delivered at the agreed time. The pizzas were delicious!

Delicious pizza from super friendly people

Good fresh pizzas, but satisfaction delivered.

Top pizzas and yum in the tummy

Got and ate 3 delicious pizzas! Friendly and open welcome, great!

Delicious pizzas, delivery also perfect. They often arrive super quickly, there is a lot of choice and the quality is perfect! Tip: take bolognese sauce with the calzone pizza :-)

Ordered 12 different pizzas and the quality was very good!!

Very tasteful food, made with love

Super pizza, good service. We are happy customers from the first hour

Best pizzas in the railway area and surrounding area.

Ordered delicious pizza Pollo and Spaghetti colognes. It was delicious, ready quickly and I could pick it up quickly. Truly the best pizza and pasta in Alkmaar.

We recently ordered Italian food from Taormina Express. High expectations because we always used to come to the original Taormina. They still claim to have that quality and that wasn't a lie. What a relief. All pizzas were generously topped and, above all, delivered warm and crispy. The lasagna also tasted as usual. Taormina we will order from you again next time. Love Family Hand.

Have ordered pizza here several times now. They are delicious pizzas and delivered super quickly, they are also always on time when picking up a pizza. Furthermore, nice people who work there.

Tiramisu tasted very good! Friendly staff, we will definitely come back👍

Quality Italian food such as Pizza for pick up and delivery

Pizzas are great. Nice thin base. Right ingredients. Definitely does justice to the old original Taormina.

super tasty pizza and very nice friendly delivery lady

**HOME DELIVERY** Ordered food on Sunday and we were really not happy. 2 out of 3 who had pasta did not eat it. The lasagna didn't taste like anything and the salmon pasta with cream sauce lacked the cream sauce and the pasta tasted old and tough. The pizzas were okay but baked TOO long. We also ordered 2 panna cotta and 1 tiramisu And we had only received 1 panna cotta (I did not call myself). After contacting us by telephone, it turned out that we had received the 'last' panna cotta. But we were not called for a replacement or money back... but because we had called, the delivery person came with the 2 (what looked like mini) tiramisu's and they were still okay in taste, but the panna cotta looked just like a block of gelatin. .. So for now it's really only worth 1 star. Maybe we'll try it again in the future

You can eat better pizza here really recommended

Delicious pizza and super fast delivery! The vegetarian pizza is highly recommended.

Honestly the food was top quality and it was super fast. Highly recommend!

Very tasty pizza and tiramisu! Delivered quickly and warmly. Very friendly staff and excellent service. The older poorer reviews are really not representative of the current quality of the food. Recommended!

Very bad tent! Used to be late but now also bad service! Not recommended! No taste in the pizza salami, panna cotta was not really tasty! BAD! And if you mention it, you get an angry response back...

Ordered yesterday via Thuisbezorgd and it was unfortunately a disappointment... Too bad, because I would have liked to leave a positive review

Previously at Dad's under the grape vines in the garden at the Laat. Now online with his daughter on the stationsweg (in Alkmaar)

It's a shame they're closing, a wonderful place to eat Italian food

Tasty and cozy, too bad they are closing

Understaffed. Which meant you had to wait a long time. Lost the note after an hour, the entire order had to be recorded again.... then the ingredients are gone and you have to choose another starter..... after almost 2 hours the starter and... the 2nd drink finally arrived. ... the mushrooms in garlic also tasted like vinegar... very unfortunate... this restaurant was always known as the best Italian in Alkmaar and surrounding areas.

Very nice on "the terrace" but messy as we sat next to the garden hose, watering can and a pallet full of supplies. Food was quite greasy, lots of oil in the pasta. Fast service and normal prices.

Love this restaurant, nice tasty food but portions of pasta could be a bit bigger. Love the warm bread and garlic butter that fills you up. Reasonable prices

The service is good. The food is ok. But the pizza was too salty. Also there were only two toppings on a €11,00 pizza. Also the drinks are a bit overpriced.

Faded glory... food used to be better, atmosphere ditto. Price-quality ratio is not balanced. Shame...

Poor service, very small portion of the reheated lasagna. Unfortunately no longer recommended...

Nice reception. Friendly staff and fast service. Not reserved but were allowed to take a seat. Great courtyard garden with grape vines. Very atmospheric. It's been a really long time since we ate such a delicious pizza. The dough the ingredients are delicious. Not expensive for what you get. Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ok food with very cozy ambience and well behaved waiters.

Was okay. Service varies. White wine a bit warm. Pizza was tasty.

Called sunday to make an reservation for monday the next day, once arrived the restaurant was closed, none of the numbers available picked up. Unfortunately was looking forward to eating there as i dont live in the Netherlands.

Disinterested, poor service......

Undercooked tagliatelle. Okay, it's supposed to be a la dente. But this was too much a la dente. Sauce for the salmon was little and very indefinable. And I also smelled the sewage at times in the restaurant. All in all not recommended.

Mediocre food, but friendly staff.

The two portions of lasagna I ordered were delivered on time, in large Styrofoam containers that looked like they had just come out of the refrigerator. Both lasagnas were not even lukewarm, but still really cold. Once heated, the lasagna turned out to be dry and tasted nothing. This was my first order from Taormina, and also my last!

Cozy Italian restaurant; friendly service, very good pizza

Delicious food, very nice atmosphere!

Best pizzas in town. Cozy conservatory to sit in, nice service. Recommended.

Delicious pizzas delivered to our hotel in Alkmaar during corona time. They even brought back the tiramisu an hour later because it was still too fresh. What a top service. Recommended people.

Normally super good pizzas, this time the worst I've ever had. Very sparse with ingredients and a lousy base. They also arrive more or less lukewarm. Because I was satisfied with the previous times, still 3*. But I don't know if I'll order pizza here again.

Called and found there was still a spot. We ended up waiting over an hour for the order, the cook turned out to be ill. The calzone filling was still cold inside. Service in itself nice, but hospitality was lacking. It used to be great here, but not anymore.

If you like frozen carpaccio, dry lasagna or dry tortellini then this restaurant is highly recommended!

The starter was great for me personally. Delicious flavors👍👍. Main course meat was delicious, fried potatoes were great, just missed some vegetables😥 Dessert was great again. Delicious ice cream 😃. So all in all, a good enough score.

Pizzas are delicious, but count on waiting 1.5 hours after you order (for delivery). .

Delicious authentic Italian food. Would visit again.

Service is good and their pizza is super👍

My god, what an experience. Service is downright bad, food doesn't arrive or arrives too late. Only as a comedy bar would this get more than 1 star.

Slow service, lasagna from Sligro is tastier. Not recommended!

Food was quite late..pizza was delicious, lasagna too..but my calzone was slightly burnt and had a hole in it through which the filling leaked out..very friendly delivery person

Had dinner here with the family tonight. Unfortunately, I don't have a good word to say about this restaurant. It started when we walked in, the bartender couldn't speak Dutch very well. When we finally sat at the table, a waiter came to take our order. This man also could not speak Dutch. With difficulty ordered something that was not on the menu but which is on their website. When we ordered it, it took 1.5 hours before we received the 4 plates of pasta and the pizza, even though the place was almost empty. Well moving forward can happen. When we finished the food we looked at each other at how little it was. Once we had paid and walked outside, my father saw that he had paid too much (18€ per plate while the internet says 15 euros) so he paid 3 euros extra for 4 plates. So we walk back to ask how this is possible and that we want the 12 euros back. The owner was very difficult about it and said that he also has to work for his money. To which I said that if he had to give the money back because otherwise it would be theft (so I was already grumpy because of the bad service), I would get the 12 euros in my hands and he would say that we were thieves. When I walked to the exit the owner scolded my mother, so I walked back and angrily told him that he should be normal then. When I stood in front of him he threatened me by lashing out at me with his fist. I went outside and immediately called the police. Fortunately, a police car just passed by and the officer made a note.

Menu list is different from the online menu list. Because the waiter speaks almost no Dutch, it was difficult to order. Took 1.5 hours for the food to arrive. When paying, there was a difference of 3 euros per dish, which I had to pay more than the menu list which is online. Money was refunded, but why this has to be done with threats, that goes a long way. Never again !!

2x tomato soup as a starter. Takes 45 minutes for it to finally arrive. As an excuse we were given bread with something like cream cheese or herb butter or something. The bread was so hard you could knock someone down with it. I had pizza formaggi. I could literally fish out the rinds of the cheese. And several pieces. The mozzarella was so tough that I couldn't even get my knife through it. Girlfriend had pasta carbonara. There was so much egg in it that it looked like an omelette.

Eating in the restaurant before was better then than the last time. Service was quite slow and difficult to understand, we wanted to order baguette in advance and there was no baguette, so we ordered something else, which came right away with the pizzas, which were quite black on the edges. A real shame.

Best Italian place in the Netherlands.

The pizzas were tasty, but unfortunately the service was a bit disappointing. Too many mistakes were made...

Cozy family restaurant, delicious food under the grapes.

Not so satisfied. Service was not very friendly and food was not very tasty.

The food was very good. The service was a little less. Took a very long time before we got the food.

Super tasty, fresh ingredients!

Very tasty food, just not always served quickly

Great atmosphere and excellent food with nice music.

Very tasty pizza and very nice employees.

Have been coming here for almost 36 years, but it has not gotten any better in recent years. The wait staff is extremely friendly, but the food has not improved. Pizzas are of mediocre quality and the same goes for the pastas. The insalata mista is way too expensive for such a small bowl. Feared this was the last time. A real shame because the ambiance is great.

Cozy atmosphere upon entering. Now with corona it is of course a bit quieter due to the limited occupancy, but we were still warmly welcomed. Ate 2 pizzas with pepperoni and ham. Excellent food and quick service. The ham pizza is especially delicious!! I think the plants are real, what do you think?

Late review, but ate here on Valentine's Day. Friendly staff, delicious pizzas and it was so nice decorated with balloons in the shape of hearts!

It's a bit crowded, but the food is delicious.

Me and a friend went here for dinner My soup was lukewarm and his carpacho was still half frozen, then we ordered lasagna of which the cheese topping was still completely melted and again this dish was not at the right temperature. The time it took for the dish to arrive on the table was also very long. There are plenty of areas for improvement for this restaurant

Great owner and delicious food for a reasonable price

good and tasty food. Unfortunately there was a bit of a delay due to crowds, but I received a free drink as an apology. very customer oriented

ordered 2 pizza but I have been waiting almost 2 hours why???? Never steal

Food and service are a little less, but what a beautiful restaurant

It just took a long time, I almost wanted to walk away, otherwise it was nice, there was only one request for a drink and that was upon arrival

Really Italian pizza and pasta.

Food was good, but it seemed like it was understaffed or the staff was quite slow. I also miss a chicken pizza and there is little choice of desserts

We order pasta and pizza. Taste delicious

You shouldn't be in a hurry. Waited more than 30 minutes to order the drink. And then had to wait 1 hour for the pizza. Controls are probably brand new and still need to be trained?? there was no logic in who our table's waiter was. Serving 15 tables with 3 waiters (5 tables per waiter) should not be a problem in my opinion. Pizza was good.

We arrived on the wrong evening, more delivery orders than we could handle, so as a restaurant guest we had to wait more than 1.5 hours for the pizza. Only when the owner came into the business was an apology and a drink offered. Service is selected more on appearance than on communication skills and catering experience. Really not a good experience this time!

I waited ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES for my pizza and they cannot offer any compensation for this or make a proper apology. Never ordering here again.

Food was great, service very young and no initiative. Had to wait a very long time for food, drinks, etc. Had to ask several times where our drinks were. There was 1 large group of +/_ 35 people and apparently they could not handle this crowd. After almost 2 hours we got our food. I have nothing to complain about the quality of the food, the pizzas were delicious and the lasagna was great!! If this restaurant allows fewer people and the service becomes a bit sharper and spicier, I will definitely come back.

Unfortunately, we only received our pizza after 1.5 hours. Food was very tasty.

Very neat and smooth operation. Even when a food allergy has to be taken into account at the last minute. Nice meal!
