I dare say I’m used to quite a lot, but on the other hand, I always try to highlight the positive aspects. I haven't often eaten so badly, and I left hungry. Absolutely terrible value for money. But the live music was okay.

My family is really never going here again. The food was bad and too expensive. When we arrived, the service was pretty good; we had a very nice waitress. But the food took quite a long time to arrive, about an hour or so, so okay, maybe a bit weird, but it's okay, you won't die from it. So the food arrived and it looked fine (we had pizzas, fries, and veal), but when we took a good look at it, simply put, it was shit. The bottom of my father's pizza was just completely burnt; it really wasn't tasty anymore, and my brother's food was abnormally small; it was 3 small pieces of baguette and a very small piece of veal. Those 3 pieces of baguette were even more than that, and do you know how much that small piece of veal cost? More than 22 euros. That doesn't fill you up at all, and for that money, you'd be better off eating a flattened McDonald's burger. So we sent those 2 dishes back because they were just way too expensive and inedible; the rest of the pizzas were actually good, even though there were a lot of burnt spots. After we sent them back, we got a bowl of fries "on the house," but guess what, it was on the bill, so we had to pay for something we hadn't ordered. There were also 3 other people at the table next to us who had sent their food back as well. I would never eat here; it's a real shit restaurant.

A truly lovely experience; we returned several times during our stay. The live music was magnificent and the food was excellent (pasta carbonara and aglio olio, and the homemade tiramisu was to die for). A must-try if you're in the area!

Unfortunately, the food was more than just dried out. The tagliatelle al salmone was "dusty"—the salmon was more like a paste or mush. The scampi were overcooked, and the focaccia had no texture whatsoever. 😢 However, I'd like to commend the incredibly friendly server; she was genuinely kind and tried her best to provide pleasant service. To avoid confronting her about the leftover food, I paid the owner (who I assume was the owner). He, of course, also offered us a complimentary shot, which we politely declined. In conclusion, even if expectations are low... Better to avoid this place. 😢 I'm only giving the food one star because you have to give at least one. The fact that the ambiance only gets two stars is due to the sticky menus and tables. These are also quite worn.

Service was good and friendly, but I paid €12.50 for a "pornstar martini" that tasted like orange juice diluted with water, half a layer of "cocktail" in a wine glass that stank. And wait an hour for pizza even though it wasn't busy.

Truly the worst so called Italian food i’ve ever had. 5 dishes in our party and all were awful!! This cannot be an Italian chef as they would not permit such terrible food to leave their kitchen. The pasta’s were served dry with spaghetti from Lidls? and on plates not meant for pasta? The waiter was pleasant, did his best and apologised and offered free drink for the awful food, but i feel he’s fighting a losing battle with the food quality. There was a Tarantella in Zaandijk/Wormerveer years ago and it was good wholesome Proper Italian. I can’t imagine this is the same as the food has deteriorated so badly. We are no culinary experts but my wife lived in Italy, we travel there often and have eaten Italian food worldwide so we have a little knowledge of what is right. This was all wrong!! Help your good staff by improving your food.

The location is beautiful, right in the midst of the lively atmosphere of Zaandam's hospitality venues. However, the quality of the food varied. One dish seemed handmade and prepared... while another appeared to be from the freezer and merely warmed up.

Such an amazing place to eat and for take some drinks, we were attended by Francesco and he make this dinner such a perfect experience for a Saturday night in Zaandam. Highly recommend!!

Thought we could squeeze in a quick dinner before our train… bold assumption. We waited forever!! It finally arrived, tasted good, but came with a bonus hair. I’d skip dinner here unless you have plenty of time. Just come for a drink.

I want to start this review off on the clearest: I advise you against eating at Tarantella Zaandam; it is definitely not worth your money. Particularly bad experience: Terrace filled with 25/30 people. Ordered 1 pasta and 1 pizza, and it still took 60 minutes while most tables were already served food. The waiter told us at least 3 times that it was coming soon... (no, we didn't ask for this). Regarding the dishes: for the pasta pesto – literally pasta with basil and pesto (without chicken because you couldn't order it separately) €14.45. We decided to order tomatoes on the side, and now comes the joke: 2 cherry tomatoes for almost 3 euros extra! I'm laughing my head off. A total of almost 17 euros for a small portion of pasta with only 2 cherry tomatoes. The worst part: on the website and via Thuisbezorgd, this is sold for 11.50 euros. What a scam! Unfortunately, Moretti beer was sold out, but there was still Heineken. They still charged €4.50 for Moretti x 5 glasses, even though we were given Heineken. Too ridiculous for words. The waiter did his best, but unfortunately, they couldn't make up for the food and the unnecessary wait. The family sitting next to us (at most 6 people) received their food quickly, while the other half received it more than 15 minutes later. How pleasant to dine out together like that. I am not coming back, really never again.

We ate at Tarantella this week with 2 people. The starter was good, but the main course was really terrible! We ordered pasta pesto and pasta with red sauce. The pasta pesto was terribly dry; it was literally pasta with some pesto! The other pasta also had almost no sauce on it, no meat, nothing! I had to ask for the cheese. Afterwards, a latte macchiato and a cappuccino (that one was good), but the latte macchiato was just warm milk, absolutely no coffee flavor! I actually felt a bit sorry for the boy who brought the food! Other guests also returned their plates because it was terribly dry!! No more Tarantella for us!

the place itself was cute, and the staff were really nice. but sadly the tiramisu was the worst tiramisu i’ve ever had in my life. it had a really weird sour taste as if it was expired. and the size of it was even more ridiculous, i cant believe we payed €10 for that

I ate there last Saturday and it was delicious. The service was also very good, patient, and friendly. The atmosphere was very nice and you felt welcome. I read reports that it takes a long time, but it's actually not that bad. And I also like that the table isn't full right away and you can leave. No, you can really enjoy yourself there.

Very bad experience! We waited 20 minutes to be served and had to go and order inside, because no one came. Then the food took around 40 minutes to come. We were outside and asked if we could come inside, and they said there were no tables. And we saw many people exiting the place. Moreover, we were asked if we wanted bread with the pasta, and they charged us 7,75 euros for it. Without notice. In the end, it was very expensive, no attention for the wait, and the food wasn’t even good. It was very bad. And not even fulfilling.

The service was quite good, the staff attentive and quick, and the overall atmosphere a bit noisy but pleasant. However, the food... The stuffed pasta wasn't homemade; the sauce was practically nonexistent... A shame. The pizza was also lacking in toppings. And the dessert was definitely not homemade... Something bought and resold that I paid almost €8 for! I'm not happy to pay that price for something pre-made and unprepared! If you're looking for something homemade, avoid this restaurant; you'll find very little that's actually cooked there.

Because of not access for wheelchair (powered) inside we chosen to sit outside under cover and they put heater on and looked after us. Hope all places in Amsterdam considered wheelchair user more so we can part of the adventure and culture

got food delivered, really expensive, took 2 hours, tasteless food, paid 7 euros for 4 slices of burned bread. never order here again!!!! my 4 year old child can cook better pasta!!! adios!!!!! greetings from the 2tall lady's

Worthless!! Soft drinks from 2-liter bottles, so flat. Coffee lukewarm... they leave your food on the bar for a long time, other customers talk over your food. No, no, bad food. We did get a free coffee afterwards, that's a positive point.

A charming place, but the worst restaurant experience ever. We waited an hour for carpaccio (from the freezer), unloved (and charred) bruschetta, and tasteless, dry potato slices. The staff apparently can't handle feedback (or doesn't even consider it), not even offering an apology or offering bread to satisfy our hunger. Absurd and, moreover, a real shame for them. Our expectations weren't high, as it's a nightlife area, and we just wanted to grab a bite. But if you eat here, I recommend burying your arse. Any Italian would be ashamed of this.

2.5 stars not possible; therefore 2 stars. A relaxed dinner before visiting the Zaantheater unfortunately didn't work out, despite making a reservation and arriving well in advance. We were allowed to order our first drink a good 20 minutes after arriving. (When served at the table, the ice cubes were already 3/4 melted.) The food finally arrived after over (!) 1.5 hours. And it tasted great; however, it was a rushed meal due to the start time of our performance. We repeatedly asked politely if our food was coming, and each time we received a friendly response with apologies and "I'll check," after which it became quiet again. A free drink or a small discount would have been appropriate... in our opinion. Because the food tasted delicious, we will probably return here again; but without time pressure/without further plans ;-) Note: the restroom is one floor down, accessible via stairs. (Solution: using the restroom at adjacent restaurants is possible.)

For the price you pay, you expect quality on your plate. Tough meat and a too-small portion of scallops. It's outrageous that you also have to pay €5.25 for a small portion of fries. I mentioned this to the staff, but they were more concerned with themselves than offering an apology.

The service was friendly, but unfortunately, the food was bland and lacked seasoning, salt, and zest. The plates were very boringly presented, and it looked like pre-prepared food, with no hint of Italian flair. I'm so sorry, but... a simple pizza would probably have tasted good, but not a slice with Gorgonzola sauce... unfortunately, it didn't impress me. I left disappointed. It's a real shame. The chef needs to rediscover his passion for cooking and win over guests with his food... with the taste! Not worth the money!!! Please... please, more love in cooking!

Lovely place, friendly service. The starter was excellent. The pasta carbo was very small and bland, watery, and lacking in flavor. 12 bacon bits. The tiramisu was soaked with water at the bottom. The bitter lemon had lost its sparkle. I had a pleasant evening, but I won't be back because there's no focus on real food. I've been home for half an hour now and I'm really hungry. It's impossible!

The food was excellent and the service was great! We almost had to skip dessert because we were attending a concert, but the staff kindly put it in a container so we could eat it on the go. The tiramisu was amazing!

Terrible customer service. We had a problem with the food; it arrived raw. We called the restaurant, and they told us to send them photos of the raw food. We did, and they still insisted it wasn't raw and was edible. We paid and went without food.
