Zay Ton Chinees Restaurant in Wijk 16 Zaandam Noord

I'm not getting anything from there anymore. Once I stood waiting an hour and a half for a container of nasi while I was alone in the place and no one else was in the restaurant.

The spring roll was delicious, so we were really looking forward to it! But after that, it was a huge disappointment. The satay sauce was just like soup and tasteless. The tomato soup wasn't what we hoped for. The meat with the nasi rames was like cat food. And then..... stomach upset. That was definitely not something we would repeat. It's a shame, the lady at the cash register was so incredibly friendly. But we are going to look for another Chinese restaurant.

What a terrible, uninviting shop this is. When picking up, I ordered Foe Yong Hay with Chinese prawns (which I always enjoy) with prawn crackers. Price €24.30 incl. price for 2 plastic containers and a bag. Upon arriving home, I discovered NO prawns, but pork or something resembling it, unfortunately. So, I feel like I've been ripped off. The price of the Foe Yong is €18.80, the prawn crackers €3.90, so the total should be 22.70. That is €0.10 for the bag and €0.50 for 2 containers. I hope they don't keep it this way, because then Kalf will soon lose another place to eat. So, absolutely NOT RECOMMENDED.

Ordered food today. Moxi Meti, What dry junk; I added soy sauce and sambal to make it taste good. Done after 3 bites. Bami goreng with satay: well, that was a very watery sauce that floated on the bottom of the satay stick. The spring roll was like cardboard, impossible to eat, and on top was meat that wasn't cooked through. See photo; I will never order there again. The lady is nice.

The bami and the babi pangang were actually tasty. The mini spring rolls tasted like cardboard and were empty. The sauce with the koe loe kai was very sour. The satay was okay, but the sauce was watery.

Incredibly friendly owner, a real 10+ in that regard. Also great with kids. It does take a while to get your food, though. We waited an hour even though only one table was occupied. I've read here that this place is mainly for takeout, which I understand, because the atmosphere inside is rather dull. But the tipan is delicious. And the tipan satay is also special... not those thick, disgusting chunks of meat you often see at Chinese restaurants. This is truly grilled and fresh... we'll definitely be back.

Madam is doing her best. On Christmas Day a whole restaurant for the 5 of us. Too bad we had food poisoning from Boxing Day onwards. In short, never again as far as I'm concerned.

I order an offer and am told it is only for the elderly. Then she gives me a bag of prawn crackers, which costs €4. I saw that I already have to pay 50 cents for plastic, which is quite high. I ask for plastic cutlery but they don't have any. They do have wooden sticks for €1 extra. Well, that aside, I open my food and I see a dirty hair in my food and there is a hard piece of material in it.

The menu for takeaway isn't the same as for eating in. Eating in costs three times as much! And then they smile at you politely, as if that's normal. That's a rip-off! In the end, we only had drinks.

Regrettably, my experience at this establishment was rather disappointing. Not only did the prices on the menu differ from what was ultimately charged, but the reasoning behind the discrepancy was also unclear. For instance, paying 2.5€ for a small flat coke and the same amount for water felt quite excessive. Moreover, the final bill per person exceeded what was initially advertised on the menu, making it significantly pricier than comparable dining options in Amsterdam. Despite my hopes of finding a reliable local Chinese restaurant, the unexpected expenses and lack of transparency left me unable to recommend this place.

Simple Chinese food, nothing special, but if I really don't feel like cooking, it's fine. I always get takeout, so I can't say anything about the restaurant. The owner is lovely. Everything is reasonably priced. If you're looking for convenience, it's fine; just don't expect too much.

The prices on the menu and the actual prices are completely different. The bill was €15 higher than it should have been.

Delicious food and an extensive menu. Friendly staff who go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Plenty of free parking.

Hoop dat vele wijkbewoners de weg weten te vinden naar dit vertrouwde restaurant.

Soms moet je wel een beetje geduld hebben maar dan wordt je beloond met heerlijk eten.

Wel lekker eten maar niet zo speciaal. Hierna kregen we wel erg veel dorst. Misschien beter om minder ve-tsin erin te doen.

Gezellige ambiance, vriendelijk personeel, goede keuze, en heerlijk gegeten! Komen zeker weer langs.

Prima Chinees, wellicht duurt het bereiden iets langer maar daarentegen is alles vers en goed warm. Afhalen dus prima in orde, van restaurant nog nooit gebruik gemaakt maar eigenaresse is vriendelijke en gastvrije vrouw die het graag goed wil regelen. Op basis van die indruk denk ik dat restaurant gedeelte ook goed zal zijn.

wij hebben vandaag voor de eerste keer hier eten gehaald. en mijn man is echt kieskeurig kwa chinees eten , maar wij hebben nog nooit zulk vers eten gehad , echt een aanrander om hier eten te gaan halen , wij reden altijd na amsterdam voor onze chinees maar vanaf nu gaan we echt hier ons eten halen . vriendelijk personeel en de kok niet gezien daar echt complimenten voor het eten .

Al jaren een vaste klant Toch erg jammer dat ik vanmiddag Met mijn zoontje niet even gebruik Mocht maken van het toilet om dat ik geen €0.50 cent had. Van de eigenaresse!! terwijl de aardig dame achter de kassa het nogal sneu vond na mijn idee en de eigenaresse ijskoud nee verkocht Jammer !!denk dat deze zaak het toch van de Meeste bewoners uit het kalf moet hebben. Toch Voorlopig maar eens een ander bezoeken.

Lekker eten, aardig personeel en lief dat ik na sluitings tijd nog effe een zakje loempia's mocht meenemen. Zeker een aanrader!

Afgehaald. Eten viel tegen. Zat erg veel vet op het vlees en het geheel was smaakloos. De volgende dag buikloop.

Je kan er erg lekker eten, en het personeel is erg vriendelijk.

We eten hier regelmatig, niks op aan te merken.

We besloten een keer naar het open buffet te gaan. Dit bleek helaas een teleurstelling te zijn. Het aanbod was klein, werd niet bijgevuld en was dus ook al snel op. Daarnaast werd het eten ook vrij snel koud. Het personeel was wel vriendelijk. Je kan hier beter afhalen dan zitten in het restaurant.

We hebben hier 1ste kerstdag heel lekker gegeten van een buffet je kon pakken wat je wou!!

11/7 Gelukkig Maandag open! vanavond met een Chinese vriendin heb ik bij Restaurant Zay Ton een lekkere rijstafel gehad, waarbij op haar verzoek is uitgegaan van minder olie en minder zout. Attente en aangename bediening.
