Nice authentic indo and Tibetan food. This time went got the Indonesian food table. Great spread and the taste was authentic. Just loved the spice levels too. The special home made chilly sambhal was just superb. Spicy and great. Good to have local Indonesian beer too. Overall highly recommend this place. Do reserve in advance

We got the veggie momos, pakodas and the eggplant plate and they were amazing!! I 100% recommend anyone who is vegetarian to go check this place out. They are also extremely accommodating for nut allergies.

We had an awesome time here trying a wide variety of Indonesian dishes. The food was very fresh and full of flavor.

We had a wonderful dinner here; our booking was at 10pm after a boat cruise. Their kitchen closes at 10pm but they called me before to ask me what food we wanted - rice table - and they had it all ready for when we arrived. Absolutely delicious! Thank you!

The food was absolutely delicious and the waiters were extremely friendly and attentive. The value for money and the quality were excellent. However, reservations are recommended. We didn't have a reservation, but we were lucky and still got a table without waiting.

There's probably some misunderstanding about the term "curry." When I make a curry, it's an explosion of flavors and spices. Here, there's nothing, absolutely nothing... go to your local fast-food place, you'll find more.

The food was really good. But one word of advice-DO NOT order the bottle of water. Omg €7,50 each!! 😳 We spent €15 for water. But the next table over got a pitcher of tap water for free. When we asked for tap water, they said only if you order wine. Had I known, I’d have ordered a glass of wine at €6 instead! That just crazy to me. But the food was good.

Came here to try Indonesian-Dutch food, and the rijsttafel (rice table) was delicious! The staff were very kind and tourist-friendly as well. Highly recommend!

Note: I have a gluten intolerance, not celiac. Because I’m not as sensitive as some folks with celiac, I’m not sure if there was any cross contamination.

Must visit! I was just looking for a good soup and randomly stumbled upon this shop, where as people were leaving told me to go inside because the food was great. I did and it was. Beautifully decorated, and spend the time reading the great History of Tibet instead of being on my phone. With my tibetan herbal tea, tibetan noodle soup and delicious chicken skewers with peanut sauce and the great atmosphere it really felt like i was transfered to Tibet. A great family business run by true Tibetans! Give them a try

We had the most extensive Indonesian rijsttafel (rice table), and the flavors were delicious. The portions could have been a bit larger. The soup was delicious, as was the spekkoek (spekkoek) for dessert, but again, the portions were a bit small. Friendly service.

We had a delicious meal, were introduced to a surprisingly tasty rice beer, and the people were so friendly. We'd love to come back soon.

Such a wonderful experience. First time eating Tibetan food, it was amazing! Service was very friendly and atmosphere was clean and comfortable.

It was my first time at this restaurant and I really liked the food, the presentation, and the service itself! The restaurant team is very attentive to the needs and wishes. I don't really understand this cuisine in general, but the dinner was impeccable and left good memories for both me and my friends. I highly recommend it!

It was my first time having rijsktavel, and it was super delicious! I can't say if it's authentic Indonesian, but as a Vietnamese, this tasted oddly similar to the food I had back home. Also, the staff was so nice.

Decent rijst tafel. Portions on the small side. A little muted in flavour as no dish was really spicy (not even the beef rendang), no dish was really funky with terasi (=fermented shrimp paste), and no dish was really acidic (not even the green bean atjar). It’s a lovely room with dark colonial furniture.

The special rice plate for 2 persons was very good, a lot and tasty. We had to wait almost an hour for the dish. I can understand that when the restaurant is full and the food is prepared freshly that it can take some time. But then please let the guests know that before they order and give them an update. We had tge rice plate, 2 bottles of water and half a liter white wine for 98€

Realmente un establecimiento increíble. Nuestro camarero era increíblemente amable, y el Servicio era en general simplemente increíble. La comida era increíblemente deliciosa. Somos de la ciudad de Nueva York y nos quedamos boquiabiertos. Los precios también eran increíblemente baratos.

Quite ok in terms of atmosphere, food and service

The portions were extremely small and the price was far too high for the quality and quantity served. We were also given a bowl of chips, which we were charged for afterward, even though it was advertised as free.

The food and service was good. We ordered the 36 euro Rijsttafel for 5 people and enjoyed the different flavours of the food provided. The variety was good, but it indeed might have been more food if we ordered a seperate dish each. On the spicy side of the dishes that were served, we also would have enjoyed some to be more spicy.

The place is lovely and the service is also very kind. The food didn’t quite cut it for us as vegetarians.

Delicious food! I loved the selection they provided. However the Tibetan menu was pricey as it was around 30 euro per person and small portions. I felt satisfied but not full afterwards. Would come back to have my favorite items - spinach, sweet and sour chicken, eggplant. Server was very kind. They did charge for bottled water.

We wanted to do like an Indonesian High Tea. As they have many snacks and desserts we chose some Indonesian and Tibetan snacks. The soto soup and momos were really delicious. Satay very tender. Also the lemper very tasty. We loved everything and were so full 🤣. The staff was very friendly and nice. Definitely will visit again 💕

Good Indonesian food, but wasn’t comparable to other food I’ve had in terms of flavours. A bit pricey for what you get. But the vibes are much nicer than other Indonesian restaurant.

Tashi Deleg restaurant is a very good restaurant near in the 700’s segment of the Keizergracht canal. We chose the savory and fragrant beef stew with eggplant. We also ordered the very finely prepared sticky rice and chicken rice roll, with exquisite aromas of lemongrass and coconut. Mt husband started with the delicious beef soup with lots of flavor and it was as all served hot. It’s so rare to eat hot food these days. The service is wonderful. Thank you to the family for preparing a beautiful and memorable dinner tonight.

Our lovely server recommended the Indonesian tapas/sharable option . Everything was flavorful and delicious.

Had a great meal here. Could have been a bit spicier, medium was a bit too mild for me. But everything fresh and prepared with care. Lovely people. The whole place is decorated with Tibetan tankas, very beautiful.

Delicious food in a very attractively decorated restaurant. Tashi Deleg is a truly original family restaurant. Father and mother in the kitchen and brothers and sister in the service. We (we are of Indonesian descent so very critical 😁) had our waiter (the eldest son) serve a meal of his own favorite dishes. This was a golden opportunity because the result was a beautiful combination of Indonesian and Tibetan cuisine. We had very tasty momos as a starter. These are highly recommended! The rice table was a combination of delicious Indonesian and Tibetan dishes. We really enjoyed it! In short, Tashi Deleg is highly recommended! In any case, we will be back soon!

Exceptional Indonesian rice table with knowledgeable and attentive staff.

Saw this place on a YouTube video and made a reservation. Got the Tibetan menu which was $26 euro/pp which i think is fair for the amount of food you get. Dishes were so good — the eggplant especially!

A small, cozy café with interesting Tibetan dishes. The portions are generous, and the food is prepared quickly. While you wait, they bring out some complimentary Asian-style chips, which is a nice touch. There are also small books and brochures about Tibetan history around the café which was an interesting addition. The service is friendly. Especially appreciated that the dishes marked as mildly spicy were actually mild - something that’s not always the case in other restaurants😏

The best vegetarian food I've ever had! Delicious seitan and chips. My son is so picky, but he loved the beef dumpling soup.

Get the selection that gives you everything. 10/10 reservation preferred.

1st time trying an Indonesian rice table. Food was delicious and flavorful. They served 3 different sets of dishes along with rice and salad. Each set of dishes was spicier then the next. Only complaint was the hope of more spice in the hotter dishes. My spice palette wanted more and I don't even like super spicy dishes. Service was great and they did an amazing job describing the many dishes put before us.

Chill place, amazing rice table

Nice restaurant. Very cozy. This was my first experience with Indonesian food and we had the three course rice sampler. Everything was good. Not as strong of spice or flavor as Thai but rather more nuanced. We both liked it and would come again. The service was also excellent!

Unfortunately, the service was more than slow and not that attentive. A tea glass was given as a water glass. Had a menu of several Tibetan dishes. Some were declared spicy. Unfortunately the whole meal was very tasteless and not really spicy or spicy. Overall, unfortunately, a disgrace for the price.

Had the rijstaffel here and it was excellent. There were multiple dishes of different flavors. Service was also great. Recommend making a reservation.

I just got back from Indonesia and was craving the flavours without the food being compromised too much to the western pallet and I got exactly what I was looking for. We were with a group of five and did a mix of a the Tibetan and Indonesian dishes.

Horribly dirty, greasy and watery rice table with few herbs but mainly poor quality meat with many fat lumps

The restaurant is very nice and characteristic inside. The atmosphere is cozy. The food is also very good, we took an Indonesian rice menu, a Tibet menu and a special Tibet menu to try different things and the small dishes were all flavourful. The meat was tender and well cooked. The food could have been a bit more spicy, even the most spicy dishes were quite mild for most of us. The price was low for the amount of food we received and for being in Amsterdam.

Was it coincidence or was it fate? On a day out with a friend of old we decided to look for an Indonesian restaurant close to where we were walking. Google maps showed Tashi Deleg as a contender. Upon arrival we found it was a combination of Indonesian and Tibethan cuisine. We were fortunate to get a table without a reservation (on a Friday night). We opted for the Tibethan interpration of 'rijsttafel'. Many tastings of various dishes and dumplings. Some dishes were even better than others. The fragrance was mouthwatering, the taste superb. And the price? The price was right for what was on offer. We couldn't have wished for a nicer place to eat. Staff was very attentive too. I wouldn't hesitate to go again when in the neighbourhood.

Delicious food, cozy decor and friendly staff. It's just a pity that the prices on the site for the menus are a lot lower than the actual price in the restaurant, that is of course not possible. That's why 4 instead of 5 stars.

I had such a great experience here! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was warm and welcoming, making the whole visit extra special. The homemade momo is an absolute must-try! They were packed with flavor and so perfectly cooked. I highly recommend the momo. Don’t leave the restaurant without ordering them. To pair with the food, the Tibetan yogurt drink was a great choice—refreshing and flavorful, it really complemented the meal perfectly. If you’re looking for a place with amazing food and great service, you have to check this out. You won’t regret it!

Uninspired, bland and overpriced, from the appetizers to the yogurt-based Thara drink. I’ve had so many underwhelming experiences with Indonesian cuisine in Amsterdam in the budget-friendly tier that I’m starting to think those cultures don’t have anything salient to contribute to gastronomy. But I suspect the street food in Jakarta must be out of this world.

Highly recommend this great meal! If I live in Amsterdam, I would eat here regularly. My family was in Amsterdam for only one night. We stumbled upon this interesting Tibetan Indonesian restaurant and walked in without a booking, but the server was super nice and accommodated us with a table. The food was amazing to say the least. It was such a treat to sample a variety of 12 dishes, plus dumplings, rice, and even Tibetan bread. We walked out smiling from ear to ear with our bellies full. Thank you to the restaurant staff for welcoming us!

Delicious meal with very polite, efficient service. The space is a little bit cramped when full, and can get noisy and a bit too warm, but it's hard to fault them much for this.

We arrived here with 10 people around dinner time because another reservation had been cancelled. I'm grateful that it turned out this way because man, did I have a good meal here. The staff is friendly and helped us place our order.

Food was delicious! Great quality meat and we loved every dish in the Tibetan sharing plate. Restaurant was nice and busy on a Sunday evening. Couldn’t fault the service - all the food and drinks arrived promptly and the waiters were all very attentive. Food was on the pricier side but very worth paying for such a delicious meal!

I went to this beautiful restaurant yesterday. It looks like another restaurant from the outside. But when I arrived inside, I was impressed by the richness of Tibetan architecture. The people are very welcoming. I ate a bowl of veg thukpa and two plates of mogmog.  I've never tasted it at any other restaurant before. That's why I recommend this restaurant is the best tibetan restaurant in Amsterdam. Thankx for all of you 🙏.

We ordered one of the rice tables and really enjoyed it. The dishes were flavorful and not too spicy, even the medium spiced ones. Drink selection is limited.

Great food and competent staff!

Fue una buena experiencia. No es que fuera malo, pero fueron cosas pequeñas las que lo hicieron simplemente bien en lugar de genial. Por ejemplo, la cerveza no estaba realmente fría y sirven cerveza indonesia con un vaso Heineken. Entonces la comida estaba bien, pero en medio de la carretera en términos de sabores. Y tampoco todos los platos estaban calientes. Era solo el arroz que estaba realmente caliente, el resto medio o cerca de tibio.

I've never had Tibetan before but this was delicious. We all had different things and thoroughly enjoyed them. The restaurant is cosy even when crowded. The walls are adorned with Tibetan art, so it's colourful and beautiful in a lowkey way. Recommend.
