Poor customer service and confusing rules I am a frequent customer here and often bring my friends, but our recent experience left a very bad taste in our mouth. Because we are not heavy eaters, we ordered à la carte so we could take our leftovers home. A female staff member correctly told us this was fine. However, a male colleague later stepped in and made us feel incredibly uncomfortable. He allowed us to take the food, but claimed he was only doing it because his colleague was "wrong" and made a mistake. He was completely backward. She was 100% right—when you order à la carte, you pay per dish, and you are absolutely allowed to take your food home. It was totally unfair of him to make us feel like we were doing something wrong, and it was wrong of him to blame his colleague when she was the only one who actually knew the correct policy. Management needs to train their staff so customers aren't made to feel guilty for taking home food they paid for.

The food was very tasty and the two of us certainly enjoyed it. The service was very fast and definitely fresh. Unfortunately, we both woke up with stomach upset and multiple trips to the bathroom. I felt it was a shame considering what we spent to end like that.

Tatsu just replied to this. I've asked a FEW employees, at each of their different facilities(i've eaten there a lot). and EACH of them told me the same thing...they do NOT get the tips...of course, you, future customers, can decide...that the management is saying what they're saying in SPITE of what their employees told me? wow. they just lost me as a customer...between the 3, i've eaten there at least 20 times...i'm sure i can do with some other place, just like my absence won't hurt them...but i won't support this sort of business... if what the employees are telling the truth(and why wouldn't they?) it just shows what some businesses are willing to do... again...the food is decent, but... this place is ok, but... i'd like people to know...and this was told to me by an employee/ waiter at one of the Haarlem Tatsus...the tips do NOT go to the employees/waiters...that's it.

The best all-you-can-eat we have ever had. Fresh sushi with fresh, flavorful salmon. The rolls with beef and melted cheese inside were DELICIOUS. The rolls with beef and asparagus were also delightful. The fried chicken with red sauce was also delicious. Food was served quickly. All in all, we enjoyed it very much and will definitely be back.

A pleasant Japanese restaurant with friendly and attentive service. The food was delicious, with plenty of choice in both fish and meat. The sushi tastes excellent and all the dishes are beautifully presented. It is not cheap, but with every bite you can taste that quality is not compromised. Highly recommended!

We went for lunch at this sushi restaurant today and I absolutely do not regret it. The sushi was super fresh and the duck was really delicious. The crusty shrimp couldn't have been better. We eat sushi quite often, but I have only had it this fresh and well-made at one other sushi restaurant. I would definitely go here if you don't want to be disappointed; here you know 100% for sure that you will get good and fresh sushi. It wasn't expensive either and the atmosphere was cozy. It's also nice that you can park for free in The Mall's parking lot.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience here because food I ordered kept getting forgotten during my rounds. I specifically asked in the options if they could do something with the last dessert because we’ve been married for a year, but I just got a very dry ice cream and that was it. Very nice.

I visited Tatsu for the first time tonight and was very curious, so expectations were high! The restaurant is beautifully and sleekly decorated. Despite the narrow layout, it feels visually spacious. We went for a deluxe menu twice (46.50) and a children's menu twice. The sushi was tasty, the dishes and selection were extensive and mostly halal (a plus for me). What disappointed me about this place was the following: - the deluxe menu is quite limited - you choose a deluxe menu, yet you still pay extra for mochi ice cream? - the sushi rolls and dishes were not necessarily of higher quality in terms of taste/experience than a Mojo, for example. All in all, a nice experience; good to have been once, but I think the sushi rolls from an average Mojo restaurant taste better in comparison. For a deluxe menu of 46.50 pp, I might have expected a little more.

I have been here 3 times now. The food is fine to very good, with the exception of a few dishes (corn with cheese and the pepper beef), but there is really little choice compared to other similar restaurants. The restaurant looks nice and spacious. But... One of the times we were there, we had reserved for 18:00. When we arrived at 17:30 to ask if we could sit earlier, they made a problem out of it because the restaurant was supposedly fully booked at 18:00, which shouldn't matter since we were one of those reservations. The last time we were there, we were allowed to choose our own table with a choice of 2 different tables. Then something went wrong, like the wrong table number was entered into the tablet or something, because the waiter couldn't find which table our drinks were supposed to go to. Then 3 different people came by to fix that; doesn't seem like a difficult task to me. And then half of all the rounds we had ordered didn't arrive, both the sushi and the grill dishes. But that shouldn't be due to the previous mistake, since some dishes did arrive. We also received incorrect dishes from other tables. It is all very unfortunate, but the fact that things didn't go quite right so often means we will go somewhere else next time.

Our experience at Tatsu Sushi Leidschendam was downright disappointing and actually unacceptable. We had made a reservation in advance and were able to prove it. Yet, we were told there was an error in their system and our reservation was simply not acknowledged. Despite having proof and even mentioning that we had come from far away, there was absolutely no willingness to cooperate or offer a solution — even though there were clearly still seats available. What made it even worse was that we were there with children. No understanding or helpfulness was shown whatsoever. The staff's attitude was cold and completely unwelcoming. This made us feel very uncomfortable and even ashamed in front of our children. For a place where a family easily pays around €200, you should expect at least respect, service, and customer friendliness. It felt more like we were worthless as customers. Very disappointing. This is not how you treat people, let alone families who make the special effort to come by.

We had another super delicious meal. The sauces, the meat, and the sushi were all top-notch. The service was also really fast; you don't have to wait long at all. The staff is friendly, helpful, and very attentive, which is always a plus. What we also find very convenient is ordering via a tablet. It works smoothly and keeps track of everything well; a nice and modern way of ordering. This was already our third time, and we will definitely be back. The only small downside: the tables can sometimes be a bit small, especially if you order a lot. However, empty plates are cleared away immediately, so that helps. Highly recommended!

I have rarely had such a bad experience in a restaurant as here. The food was simply inedible. The dishes arrived lukewarm and tasted as if they had been prepared hours in advance. The ingredients seemed anything but fresh, and the combinations made no sense at all. Additionally, the service was also far below par. The staff seemed uninterested and barely responded to our complaints. We had to wait a long time, both for the food and for the bill. For the price you pay here, you expect at least reasonable quality, but that was absolutely not the case. This restaurant is a huge disappointment to me, and I will certainly not be returning.

I have been twice to Tatsu, and it is truly one of the best all you can eat Japanese restaurants I’ve tried. You can pay an extra to get special dishes, but I think its not worth it, as the “basic” menu is more than enough. Sushi tastes great, and the hot dishes are amazing too. Waiters are nice, and dishes are served quickly. They also have a wide selection of cocktails. I would definitely recommend.

No birthday celebrations here. For my birthday, it had been arranged that there would be a cake to surprise me. The cake was brought an hour in advance, and a staff member had even called my friend that day to confirm that the cake was to be served. When the cake was brought, it was confirmed again that it was a birthday boy (I knew nothing about this). Unfortunately, this nice surprise was completely ruined by a staff member. While we were having dessert, she came to our table with the cake (in the box, still in the bag) and put it on the table. She said: "There was a cake for this table..." and followed that up with "Would you like plates with it?" I don't know how this is normal, but all logic had apparently evaporated. I would like to mention that I had at least expected her to have taken the cake out of the bag and maybe out of the box. There was no need for any bells or whistles. This was done extremely clumsily. When I mentioned this after dinner, I was told that they don't do anything for birthdays, but that this should have been clearly stated. I don't believe that either, because why would they call my friend for confirmation and then accept the cake.

The restaurant was almost empty when I visited on a Monday evening. They offered me l bunch of small tables in the back of the hall to choose from. Probably because I was alone. I asked to pick a booth or a table next to the window, was denied. Even though the atmosphere is nice there, this already made me want to spend less time and money there. I ordered sashimi salad and a salmon roll. The fish in sashimi was really not fresh, especially the tuna. The fact that the salmon roll was pretty good, did not salvage my mood or opinion about this place.

We thoroughly enjoyed the all-you-can-eat menu! Everyone was very full, and we tried everything. There's plenty to choose from, so I recommend trying it for yourself if you haven't already. I couldn't get enough of the shrimp; I tried them all, and I tried them again on my last round because they were so delicious! The menu is extensive, so you can't go wrong and you'll want to try everything. If you have any questions, you can call a service representative, and they'll be happy to help. Unfortunately, I didn't get to photograph everything because the delicious food almost made me forget, but we'll definitely be back!

Looking at Tatsu's price list, you'd expect a luxury all-you-can-eat restaurant. After all, the price is higher than the average AYCE. Nothing could be further from the truth. Tatsu is a boisterous experience focused on crowds and throughput, not on atmosphere or a relaxed guest experience. Our first impression upon arrival was pleasant. We received friendly service, and the staff member led us to the back of the restaurant. We walked past long rows of tables until we finally reached our seats. Before we had even taken off our coats, the concept was already being explained. When we finally landed, the staff member had already flown off, leaving us with a tablet and a few questions. The space is large, noisy, and noticeably warm. There was no real way to recover from the hustle and bustle upon arrival, as the timer had already started. You can order four dishes per person per round. In two hours, you'll end up with about 20 to 25 dishes, assuming you also want to have a pleasant evening. Although "pleasant" is relative here: it's difficult to actually hear each other. The tables are close together, and conversations from other tables are easier to follow than your own. The dishes themselves are comparable to those of other AYCE restaurants. The quality is okay. The sushi rice is a bit dry, but that's not unusual for Dutch sushi restaurants. What's noticeable is that many sushi rolls are generously topped with (spicy) mayonnaise. Mayonnaise is often used to add extra flavor, but at Tatsu, it's likely to compensate for a lack of it. After an hour and a half, a staff member announced that the last round had arrived. "Mass is cash," she reiterated. A two-hour reservation suddenly felt time-pressured. If you enjoy loud ambient noise, fast-paced dining, and sushi with plenty of mayonnaise, then Tatsu is definitely recommended. Those, like me, who prefer quality over quantity should probably skip this massive food hall.

Despite a reservation made five weeks in advance for a birthday, it turned out upon arrival that our table had been assigned to someone else. When we pointed this out, the staff reacted aggressively and unprofessionally and refused to offer a suitable solution. After the meal, we requested multiple times that the table be cleared, without success, and were furthermore confronted with unfriendly non-verbal reactions. Only after the intervention of another staff member at the cash register was the matter handled correctly. We are very disappointed with the service, and this was the last time for our party.

We had reserved a table five weeks in advance and specifically requested a specific spot. To confirm, I even visited in person; they confirmed everything was fine. On the day itself, our table turned out to be occupied. When we pointed this out, the presumably manager or owner reacted unfriendlyly. The service was also subpar: we had to ask several times for the table to be cleared and cleaned, and they visibly rolled their eyes. One employee was friendly and understanding, which we appreciated. Nevertheless, the experience was disappointing, especially considering the positive reviews we had heard beforehand. Unfortunately, this will remain a one-time visit for us.

The restaurant is quite spacious, both inside and out. As for the food, some dishes were good, while others left something to be desired. The portions are small, which is a good thing. Regarding the menu, they offer two options, with similar prices, only about €7-€8 apart. The deluxe menu includes some additional dishes, which come at an extra cost. On the other hand, we were surprised to see duck and lamb on the menu, which was a plus. We should also mention the low prices of the drinks, which surprised us. Overall, the quality and price are good, and it's highly recommended.

Stopped by at Tatsu for a spontaneous dinner with friends and we each took a Ramen bowl which we were very pleased with. The flavours of each bowl were quite alive, allowing me to enjoy the freshness of the various ingredients. I wouldn’t say it’s the best ramen I’ve had but it definitely passes the quality test. It’s worth stopping by and trying out if you’re ever in the area. The staff here is really nice, we had a great time chatting up with one of the waitresses who had a pretty long day at work. I always enjoy the vibes at any place when the staff has good energy you can feed off of. So, thanks to the staff for also making the experience more enjoyable and having the patience with our jokes and chatter!

The evening started well. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was good... until one point. After sitting there for an hour and a half, we were practically dismissed. Pushy questions like, "Are you going to order something or are you finished?" I didn't think this was appropriate, as we had a reservation for two hours. After they came by several times, I asked if there was a problem, because what's going on? Apparently, we had to make way for the new customers who had made reservations. There were still several tables available, and our two-hour reservation wasn't over yet... Afterward, I briefly mentioned at the cash register that we didn't like that. Instead of engaging in a constructive and customer-friendly conversation with us, the employee became defensive and blamed us for not following the house rules. Good food isn't everything; service largely determines whether customers return or not. That's a stupid way to do things...

Hello, my girlfriend and I decided to go all-you-can-eat today. Well, here's the story of the day: We walked into a nearly empty restaurant and chose a seat. Then an angry old Chinese man came up to us and told us we had to ask if we could sit down first. Okay, Your Majesty. Very strange, because it was actually empty? But anyway, without a sigh or a murmur, we got up and begged to eat too? After all, we're just paying. Once we were shown to a bad spot in the back of a smelly corner, 2 cm away from a restroom, we could finally order. The sushi was cold and disgusting. Endame had no salt. Malaysian chicken tasted like bacteria. The only tasty food was the lamb skewer (though it really lacked salt, and they didn't even have any salt on the table). P.S. The martini was delicious, by the way. That old Chinese waiter was REALLY rude and mean. I pointed out to him that I didn't find him very friendly, and suddenly he said, "Okay, I wasn't, but okay?" Excuse me? I didn't do anything. Oh yeah, I also got hit on the back of the head with a tray. Anyway, Absolutely not recommended. If there's ever another pandemic, it'll probably be because of this unsanitary restaurant. Bye

Definitely recommended at The Mall of the Netherlands! At Tatsu, we enjoyed delicious, fresh sushi and other Asian specialties. Everything tasted fantastic, was beautifully presented, and halal. What made the experience even better was the friendly and attentive service. A top spot for a successful lunch or dinner!

Don't go between 14 and 16, they have a weird policy where they don't serve customers even if the restaurant is open (not sure how legal this is). We got there, and we got told that the team needed also to take a break between the lunch and dinner service, understandable, but they could simply fix their schedules especially on a Sunday, in a mall restaurant. Just avoid it go somewhere else where if the restaurant is open, they serve food.

Very good for what it offers. The food is very good and of good quality, we have been going for a while now and we have tried almosteverything. There are also vegan options. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It's an all you can eat restaurant so very good for us who have kids that like sushi a lot! Sometimes some dishes come at the table late, but they always come in the end. Two hours are more than enough for us to finish. Favourite dishes the spicy tuna roll and the flamed salmon nigiri, but everything is very tasty!

I’ve been going to Tatsu for over a year, usually once a month. Food’s always been great. I’ve had some small gripes about how the staff treats customers, but nothing that kept us away. Our 5-year-old doesn’t like sushi or fish, so we usually feed him beforehand. At Tatsu he’ll nibble a few fries, maybe 1–2 fried shrimp, and an ice cream from the deluxe menu at the end. My wife and I always keep it reasonable—we stop at 4 rounds even if we still have 4 more rounds. This time, as soon as we walked in, the person at the entrance said we’d have to pay for our son. I explained he’d already eaten and would just share a few fries with us. He insisted we order him his own fries and pay for them—and then told me he’d be watching us, and if our son ate anything else he’d charge a full person price (!).Which is a very weird behaviour So we left. I’m not going to leave my kid alone for two hours specially that Nanny's is closed in the mall, and I’m also not paying €48 for a few bites. Shame, because we genuinely liked the food, but we won’t be coming back after this.

You're having a nice day shopping and want a good meal afterward, so you end up at Tatsu. They tell you, "You can't sit for two hours because it's so busy, but you can sit for an hour and a half." No problem for us, but then we let them foist on us the more expensive selection, supposedly cheaper. But then they arrive at your table after an hour, telling you it's our last round. It's outrageous! You have to pay the same amount for less than half an hour as if you were eating for two hours. I think it's outrageous! If the food had been good, no comment, but it was cold and overcooked. NEVER AGAIN FOR US! THINK CAREFULLY IF YOU WANT TO EAT HERE!

We ate here last night around eight o'clock. Despite the late hour, it was still quite busy, but the atmosphere was good. We were served by a staff member with a remarkably cheerful voice, friendly and attentive. We were allowed to choose from three tables. The sushi was truly excellent. Beautiful, large pieces of fish and delicious combinations. The salmon and sashimi were particularly notable: fresh, generous, and flavorful. It reminded me a bit of Sushi Yaya in Rijswijk. We didn't have the deluxe menu, but even the regular dishes were generous and well-prepared. The sashimi salad was surprisingly filling. The hot dishes varied: the Malaysian skewers with peanut sauce were very tasty, but the beef was unfortunately a bit tough. The service was fast: the food was often on the table within a few minutes. Towards the end of the evening, it quieted down a bit, which made the atmosphere even better. All in all, a very good experience. Fresh food, fast service, nice atmosphere. I would definitely come back.

Edit 2025: meat was more dry today, same for the salmon of the grill. A very dissapointing experience compared to 2021! 2021: Delicious sushi, great quality for an all you can eat concept. The food was very fresh, but at the entrance, it felt like we were about to cross the border into Europe. The employee stared at the reservation on his phone with a puzzled expression for at least two minutes. He even took off his glasses to double-check. 😅 Restaurants should always provide two napkins: one to neatly place on your lap (to prevent stains on your clothes) and one to wipe your mouth with. Hopefully, they'll bring these with chopsticks next time.

A bit expensive but it’s unlimited rounds for 2h so it’s worth it if you are able to eat crazy amounts of sushi, you can rather go for the normal version (38€ drinks excluded more limited on terms of choices) or deluxe (47 I think, a bit more expensive but you get to choose between way more options) I would honestly say if you are very hungry and you care more about quantity then choose the normal version if you care more about exploring new flavors the deluxe will be more enjoyable. But in general terms, everything was good and tasted fresh. The decoration is also very nice. But if you don’t eat a lot, I would suggest to go somewhere else you can order a la carte.

The food is always great and fresh. We come here regularly. Placing orders at the table is often a challenge. Don't put your plates on the corner of the table (sometimes even halfway on a napkin). Take three seconds to place them in the middle of the table. The atmosphere is very cozy. The restaurant is beautifully and comfortably decorated. Free parking is available under the Mall of the Netherlands.

Well. I searched for a long time cause this was my first time going for all you can eat. The main issue, all the fish was rotten but th smell covered with it being half frozen or rice having the bunch of salt and sauces. Meat was so boring and blank, had an aftertaste. The desserts and deepfry were so fat, i didn't even finish one bite. Only goof thing i ate there was mochi which is two euro extra for every piece in the deluxe menu. All the plates dirty and sauces on the table expired but the date was erased. Well, i would better order takeaway for 6th part of proce that i payed here and enjoy the way better quality than spending eating anything here even for free. Spent 122 euros on two person for deluxe menu + mochi and drinks.

Reasonable for an all-you-can-eat option. The price-quality ratio is not up to par; it's very expensive, and that's just the standard deal. The gyoza was awful, and the waygu burger was severely burnt. It's a shame there aren't any nice Japanese drinks. The service is fine, but they don't have much to work on. For me, the best Japanese sushi and BBQ restaurant is still the one at De Kuip in Rotterdam—fresher, the same price, and delicious sushi. I would never go there again. A waste of money!

O’Learys at Mall of the Netherlands is a fantastic place for indoor games and family fun. We visited for bowling and dinner, and the bowling experience was excellent. The atmosphere is lively, the lanes are well maintained, and we had a great time together as a family. The only downside was the reservation process. I had booked through their website, but when we arrived, the staff couldn’t find my reservation and sent us to the first floor. After some back and forth, they asked whether we wanted dinner first or bowling, and eventually everything worked out. The real comedy started after bowling when we came down for dinner. A staff member asked if I wanted the “Social Deal menu.” I had no idea what that was. She then went back to the billing counter to check my booking again and returned asking whether I wanted to pay the normal bill or the Social Deal menu bill. In the end, she simply said, “I’m giving you the normal menu.” 😂 To this day, I’m still wondering what she actually meant! Despite the confusing reservation and dining experience, the staff were polite, the food was good, and the bowling made the visit worthwhile. I’d definitely come back for the games—hopefully next time I’ll also discover the mystery of the Social Deal menu!
