The prices are actually quite reasonable, fairly unique for Amsterdam. The tempura was tasty and clearly their specialty. Unfortunately, the tonkatsu bore no resemblance to a Japanese version, as it was simply a schnitzel.

Excellent Japanese food in a cozy the setting, the staff are clearly passionate about food and service, I’ve visited a few times and recent ordered take out, everything was carefully packaged to ensure it stayed fresh, the food was delish and they included an extra salad, I cannot recommend this place enough!

Really enjoyed, wonderful service. The food was great, it was tasty and kinda cheap. We sat 3 people, order 3 drinks and 2 noodles and sushi and came at 57 euro bill.

I don't think I can describe this experience, there are too many things to say and I don't know how to. It was the best, BEST experience I've ever had, the people were amazing, really kind and helpful, the mood was really nice and the food, the FOOD!!! So so so good. And we only payed 30€ per person, and two of us were thinking "oh, maybe we exaggerated a bit, this'll cost so much money" and no! It was so cheap for something so amazing !! I'll never forget this place, I hope I can come back some day <3

I have been coming here ever since I first moved to Amsterdam, birthdays, valentines day, etc. The food is always great! It really has a friendly familiar atmosphere, I love looking at all the kids drawings in front of the kitchen. The staff speaks both Dutch & English, so welcoming to everyone. I would love to keep it as my hidden gem, but they deserve all the customers they can get!

What a lovely neighborhood restaurant! The owner was so nice and we were so impressed that they have three chefs - one for each type of food served. We ordered one of their "house meals" which included a number of very tasty sushi and sashimi, along with some appetizers including some chicken meatballs that I am still thinking about! Our kids had white rice and edamame, which is pretty much all they need to be happy. I hope we get to go again while we are here visiting!

Last night, after arriving in Amsterdam, I visited this restaurant as it was one of the few places still open. I ordered two sushi rolls, each costing about $4, and they were absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed the meal, and the service was exceptional. The waiter was extremely friendly, and even the owner came by to make sure everything was perfect. I’ll definitely be back!

Been home for weeks now, craving sushi? We had it on Boxing Day. Never had such delicious sushi! Tempura, unfortunately, isn't available anywhere near us. Very friendly staff.

Pleasantly surprised by this sushi place. The sushi was fresh and delicious, the prices were low for what you get, and everything was served quickly. Perfect if you don't want to wait for hours but still want a good meal. Highly recommended.

We had reserved a table for New Year's Eve and received confirmation by email, but when we arrived the restaurant was closed. This was really annoying on New Year's Eve when you can only get into restaurants with a reservation. After asking at every restaurant we saw for half an hour, but finding none with a table, we ended up at McDonald's. Not a great way to spend New Year's Eve.

Cosy, quite and very nice Japan restaurant. The staff is so nice and helpful. The food was amazing, especially for this price range it's a hidden gem. Happy to have this restaurant in my neighborhood. I loved the tempura options but their sushis are soo good, especially the hand-rolled section is very special a d tasty. I would definitely be there again as a regular visitor. A plus, I also liked how the staff is caring the visitors, some of the visitors are so regular that they know each other, so lovely.

With my company I had to catch up many years of living the life. We didn’t care much what to eat, we both like Japanese food anyway, and asked the staff just to bring nice food and that’s what they did. A regular serving of different delicious dishes throughout the evening delivered by very polite staff. All in all a Very satisfying experience indeed!

The food was delicious! The sushi was good, the shrimp tempura was delicious. The salmon nigiri was especially great! Luckily, this isn't a place where the balance of rice and ingredients is out of whack. The sushi was great! In my opinion, the neighborhood knows about it too; it seemed like a lot of locals were there. I'll definitely be back!

Japanese food in Amsterdam, located near the Holocaust Museum. A small place with a pretty good atmosphere, and now the best part... a wide variety of sushi and some more Japanese dishes, and of extraordinary quality. The drinks with dinner are much cheaper than other places (beers for €3.50, soft drinks for €2.75, and if you want a Hendrick's digestive with Dever Tree tonic for €8.50... and much more). Price: around €25 depending on what you order. Highly recommended.

Stumbled upon this place and was shocked at the quality of the food. I am a sushi lover and this was likely the best sushi I’ve had. Even the wasabi and ginger was very authentic. Service was very friendly and laid back. Will return next time I’m in Amsterdam

Absolutely beautiful quaint little Japanese restaurant. A must for a charming little date spot or a chill night out. Fish is quite fresh and a great selection. Not a place for over-the-top sushi rolls but more for traditional/ classical food that fuels the soul. Love the hospitality from this little family restaurant!

We arrived at 11:00 p.m. while they were tidying up to close and they still made us food. The scampi tempuras were delicious and then the beef udon noodles were succulent. We'll come back

Looking for something to eat near my hostel I found this spectacular Japanese food restaurant; It was so delicious that I went for dinner 4 days in a row and tried different dishes every day. The rice and sushi, along with the miso soup with real Japanese flavor. The owner was a sweetheart, she always recognized me and on the last day she gave me a beer.

We were here for dinner and had previously booked a table for 5 people. The food was very tasty and authentic, the service and owner were very friendly and caring. We would eat here again at any time.

Can't say their hours are correct. I realize I showed up at 1035 and they closed at 11. I get it. But I figured I could get something quick. Nah. No interest. That's cool. Just change your hours.

First time eating here today. Not necessarily the most beautiful restaurant, but definitely one of the tastiest! And that for a very reasonable price. There was a sweet lady in the service who was running her legs off. In short, we had a delicious meal and enjoyed it. Recommended!

I went two days ago, and it was a surprise, I went to the wrong door and ended up entering this restaurant, and it was the best thing that happened to me. The waitress is VERY friendly, the food VERY delicious, I only ate udon noodles, but the portion was perfect. ps: the food smelled so good that I didn't manage to take a photo before trying it hahaha

Pleasant and smiling staff. Quality is essential when it comes to sushi and maki. Served quickly. Lots and lots of choice. You really need to take the time to read the map. Some prices may be a little expensive but this is not the whole menu. This is why you need to read carefully. Recommended because it was a treat. THANKS

Food is ok but it was too slow serving that we feel so tired and wanted to give up half way many times. They are polite and nice but I dont think I will be coming back.

What a wonderfully nice tent. Friendliest staff, delicious food and good prices. It is not a strict concept like the average Amsterdam catering industry. That's the charm and it's nice that it still exists! Let yourself be taken here and enjoy a wonderful evening.

Stayed in Amsterdam for 4 days and came to this restaurant twice. There's only a few staff members but they were all very nice. Took our order quickly and brought out food soon after. The Japanese fried rice was amazing, they use sushi rice which I loved the texture of. Had teriyaki beef one day and marinated fried chicken the other with the rice and both were lovely. My partner ordered sushi which I also tried and again, was amazing. Very reasonably priced for what we ordered, too. We had 2x fried rice, 1x fried (about 6 pieces) chicken and 2x sushi (about 16 pieces) and it only came to €31! We were absolutely stuffed and very satisfied by the end that we couldn't resist visiting for a second time before leaving. Couldn't recommend enough.

There are restaurants where you have to come for the food. This is one of them. The sushi is made fresh every day and you can taste and see that. The prices are really low. The decoration is ok… service is very friendly! It's a wonderful evening out with old-fashioned friendliness and a perfect price/quality ratio!

Great Udon, the first time I found and tried salmon tempura at a restaurant: it s a shame because it was amazing and more restaurants should do it too. The waiter, who spoke English was really busy but kept smiling and was friendly. I highly recommend this place and will be back next time I ll go to Amsterdam!
