Terra ROSSA in Wijk 01 Nijmegen-Centrum

A very atmospheric little Italian restaurant in the center of Nijmegen. The pastas are delicious and very affordable. The owner is an incredibly hospitable gentleman who clearly has a passion for his craft. Highly recommended!

Food is bad and too salty, don't eat at the restaurant. The person is incompetent, charges 40 euros too much.

We dined here with 6 people. The food was fantastic, and despite a staff shortage due to circumstances beyond the control of the chef/owner/waiter (1 person), the service was perfect. Communication regarding how long it would take for the food to arrive was clear. Halfway through, we were even given a complimentary limoncello shot because of the circumstances. A great night out with delicious food!

Big fan of this place! The owner is very friendly and passionate and has an extensive selection of Croatian wines available. You also get a nice chat with them. Tip: go for pasta, not pizza.

Gluten-free: This was my first time here. I had called ahead to ask if gluten-free was possible. The owner and chef (I think) were incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. I had a delicious risotto and a gluten-free tiramisu. Our meal did take a long time, but I think that was due to the special gluten-free preparation. It was very tasty and the service was super friendly. I will definitely be back to try the pastas as well!

Hesitated a lot to post this review, but if I was coming here I would like to know (spoiler: there was glass in my pizza) I had dinner with my friend at this establishment yesterday night. We ordered some wine, and two pizzas. I asked for my pizza to be made vegan and they were nice and accomodating. The food was really good, until I found a literal piece of GLASS in my pizza. Around 1cm, and sharp on the edges, I took it out of my mouth. I called the waiter and calmly explained, he rapidly offered to make me another pizza to which I agreed. However, after I started to eat the new pizza I started to notice I was not feeling good and I felt something in the back of my throat. I called the waiter again, and explained I would be leaving to go to the ER to get my throat checked. He immediately tried to ask me if I had any allergies (I do not), but I made clear I was just very concerned about any potential other pieces of glass. He did offer a glass of water and was very nice throughout the process, which I appreciate. My biggest dissapointment, is that after serving me a pizza with a piece of glass, and see me in distress about other potential pieces, he did not invite us for the dinner. He fully charged us for the wine, and my friend's pizza (35€). Mind you, we obviously could not stay to enjoy the wine we ordered after fearing I could have glass in my digestive tract. Although I am grateful I did not have to pay for my pizza, it was not a fly I found, but a piece of glass that could have cut me badly. All and all, I spent the rest of my Sunday night in the ER being checked, and I am still in observation because I have symptoms that do correspond to having eaten glass. It was definetly funny to go buy a carbonated drink at the hospital (to loosen up any potential pieces left in my throat) and think about the 35€ charge. All in all, not happy they were not more accomodating to a girl clearly in distress about the glass they fed me, even though I was nice and did not even make a scene. Very sad to have been treated this way ;(

We had a wonderful dinner at Terra Rossa! The food was absolutely delicious, and our evening was made even better by our waiter, Romeo. He was super friendly, attentive, and fast. He made sure we had everything we needed, checked our allergies requirements and recommended some great wine pairing with the food. We will definitely be back!

Such a lovely place. I would honestly come back to Nijmegen just to visit this restaurant again. The drinks are amazing and everything feels done with care. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, and the owner and his wife are very welcoming. The young staff are also great… friendly, attentive and they really make the place feel special!!

Too bad they are in Nijmegen and not in Westland 😉

I ate here a year ago, but I still wanted to write a review because I had the best pizza ever (and I've had a lot ;-)). You can customize your pizza, so I had my favorite ingredients on a perfectly prepared base ♥️ The staff (one man ;-)) was super friendly. I gave it four stars, though, because the place could use a bit of a makeover, and the occasional gust of sewer smell was a real nuisance... If something could be done about that, it would be a truly great place!!!!!!

Discovered this restaurant on a rainy evening. Inside was cozy, not too busy, just the right atmosphere for a nice relaxed dinner. The service was friendly, the pizza decent, nothing that will change your life, but also not making it worse either. The real surprise came with the "Tiramisu. Overgrootmoeders geheim recept". Unfortunately, this secret should have stayed locked in the family vault – the ladyfingers were as hard, the cream somewhat indefinable, and to top it all off: chocolate sprinkles instead of cocoa powder. Nonna, we need to talk. €7.50, definitely an overpriced experiment.

A ruined evening; that's the best way to describe our experience. It started with ordering a bread basket and an Italian appetizer platter. We returned these immediately upon receipt; the bread was old and dry. Unfortunately, we couldn't get replacements because only stale bread was available. So, both appetizers were politely removed from the bill. To our surprise, we then saw bread baskets (each €9) still being served to partying beer-drinking guests. That should have set off a red flag for us... The main courses weren't served at the same time, so a pleasant meal together was out of the question, and that after waiting almost an hour. The pizzas are Dr. Oetker-quality, and the risotto is soupy rice with a touch of truffle oil. After asking the waiter three times, the owner finally came to our table. Before the main guest could give his feedback, he was rudely interrupted and given a "time-out" by the dismissive, angry, and disrespectful owner. We paid for our food and drinks properly, but we really feel cheated.

Small place, be relaxed when you come here to eat. Apart from some black edges, it's tasty.

We hadden Spaghetti aglio e oglio besteld en Risotto Limoncello met zalm . We moesten erg lang wachten op ons gerecht terwijl wij als enige in de zaak waren . De Spaghetti leek wel op bami was echt niet geweldig , de Risotto daarentegen was wel goed te eten . Leuk om hier een keer te eten maar gaan hier zeker niet nog een keer heen .

We had a fantastic evening at Terra Rossa restaurant! The food was so good again that we came back from Doetinchem especially to enjoy their delicious home-baked sandwich and pizzas again. The authentic wood-fired oven is a real eye-catcher and provides a unique taste that you will not easily find elsewhere. It was great to see the pizzas being freshly prepared and going into the oven, completely visible from the restaurant. This not only makes it tasty, but also an experience. A special moment was when the child at the table next to us was allowed to watch his own pizza go into the oven - which shows how hospitable and committed the staff are. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly, and even though there were only three employees working, we were helped quickly and friendly. Terra Rossa has a warm appearance and offers an experience that goes beyond just good food. An absolute must for those who love authentic, lovingly prepared pizzas. We will definitely come back!

Unfortunately the pizza was not tasty. The base was crazy like it was a flatbread...not even a pizza.

Biblical waiting times (more than 1 hour) for a modest dinner, high prices and an insipid location. However, it does have gluten-free options.

I used to come here very often, but I no longer live in Nijmegen. Went back now and it was fantastic again. This remains a very good and special restaurant. Prices are very ok and the food is so good and original. Highly recommended. Make sure you make a reservation because it is a small, cozy place

Fast, attentive and friendly service. We sat outside. I ordered pasta aglio olio e pepperoncino, extra hot. The owner/cook asked what it was called. This is the first time that happened. Very thoughtful actually. He used rawit (small peppers) and it was nice and hot!🔥 The portion could be a little larger and we also miss parmesan cheese. Overall it was good and we will definitely come back.

De inrichting is ouderwets met veel plastic planten. De wc was beneden en daar rook het erg naar schimmel. Het was heerlijk weer maar er zat niemand op het terras, dat was ook niet gezellig ingericht. De kok had een heel vies schort aan. Er waren 3 tafels bezet en we hebben bijna een uur moeten wachten op de pizza. De pizza was aan de ene kant zwart en aan de andere kant niet gaar. De bodem was niet gelijkmatig dus het dikkere gedeelte niet gaar. De pesto was niet lekker de pizza’s waren allebei niet lekker. De tafel naast ons liep naar de kok en vonden de pizza “zuur” die mensen waren dus ook niet tevreden. We hebben er twee stukjes van gegeten en zijn snel weggegaan.

The pizza at Terra Rossa was fine, but unfortunately we got our drinks in plastic cups because we ran out of glasses, which was strange because other tables did have glasses. In addition, my beer cup was leaking, causing all the beer to leak. Also, the tables in the pizzeria are covered in peeling paint, which made the overall experience less pleasant.

A wonderful small business where the owner responds to taste. I have been coming here before and have been surprised. tell them what you don't like and they will find a combination that is unique and enjoyable. be surprised is my advice.

Great staff and fantastic food!

We were several days into a river cruise and wanted something simple and good. The reviews were good, so we visited and were glad that we did. They were very welcoming, and we had a friendly conversation before ordering. We each just told them our preferred toppings and they took care of the rest. Thin crust, brick oven pizza was perfect.

All in all a pleasant atmosphere. Extremely delicious food and they listened to my wishes. Absolutely recommended!!

Unbelievable: what a dirty, dirty restaurant this is! As far as I'm concerned, Hrt nag doesn't bear the name restaurant. When we went inside we saw that the window was very greasy and dirty. No business card at all. But once inside, we were completely blown away by the dilapidation of this place, where it was clear that no maintenance had been done in at least 20 years. Dirty shaky old tables, dirty plasterwork, a dirty tiled floor from the 80s. What a shame! But the worst part was that once we were sitting at the table, we smelled a huge toilet smell and sewage smell coming from the toilet room into the restaurant because there is no door to that room. We had already ordered and drank our drink (by the way, the bitter lemon also tasted very strange) and then paid and said that we were canceling our order because eating in the smell of a pit is no fun. The kitchen we had a view of looked quite dirty, just like the rest of the place. And as far as we could see there was only one person working so it takes a long time to serve all the guests. We went to a better restaurant. It's incomprehensible that a business like this gets good reviews. Perhaps by students who are not used to anything other than a dirty student house. Never again for us!

The food here is really delicious. Me and my class had a mentor outing here and I'm really happy we went here. I definitely recommend it and I would love to come back here with my family!

Leuk weekend gehad in Nijmegen, aanleiding was de zeven heuvelenloop. Op de avond voorafgaand een prima pasta gegeten. Ook de pizza's waren heerlijk. Vriendelijk en attente bediening. Voor herhaling vatbaar!

Fantastic food in a cozy atmosphere!

We were in town for the NIJMEGEN March. We had a fantastic pizza there, service was great. We were seated outside and the town was in party with the Nijmegen feast,with live music opposite the restaurant and lots of people on the street. It was a great atmosphere,food and service.

Surprising and small restaurant in the Bloemerstraat in Nijmegen. Had dinner there during the busy 4 days of work. Pizza and pasta. Delicious!! Friendly and good. Pizzas are baked in a wood-fired oven. We will definitely go again.

Wij hebben hier heerlijk gegeten. De kok was flexibel genoeg om ook nog eens een maaltijd in elkaar te zetten op verzoek wat niet op het menu stond. En er zijn glutenvrije opties. Kinderen hebben ook genoten! Bedankt!

Een leuk knus restaurantje. Vlotte en vriendelijke bediening. Zeer betaalbaar. Het voorgerecht ( een hapjesplank) was prima. En genoeg voor 2 personen. De pasta Carbonara vond ik wat minder. Het smaakte wat bitter. En het was niet heel bijzonder.. Je verwacht bij een restaurantje met een italiaanse keuken wel toch iets meer. De tiramisu was lekker luchtig. Prima voor een doordeweekse hap maar niet heel culinair.

Ontzettend lekker gegeten. Ruime keuze, alles vers gemaakt, vriendelijk personeel. Er zijn niet veel tafeltjes, dat maakt het erg prettig eten. Bij binnenkomst merk je dat de aandacht echt naar het eten gaat. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

Leuk intiem restaurantje met fijne knusse sfeer en vriendelijke bediening. Heerlijke pizza uit echte heerlijk ruikende steenoven. Alles top. Enige minpuntje zijn de vochtige en gedateerde toiletten. Ik raad het desondanks van harte aan.

Een aantal dagen geleden hier gaan eten. Bediening was erg vriendelijk. Ik snap de vorige beoordelingen totaal niet. Antipasti was goed. Pizza zat rare kaas op welke het enorm droog en zout maakte. Tiramisu zwemt in de mascarpone. Totaal niet italiaans. Wat ons het meest opviel was de sterke geur die van de wc af kwam en hoe vies het restaurant was. Lijkt in geen weken/ maanden gepoetst te zijn. Voor de prijs echt niet waard !

Ondanks drukte bleef ober erg rustig en super vriendelijk. Goeie pizza's en gezellige, rustige sfeer. De plek ziet er aan de buitenkant een beetje vaag uit, maar is binnen zeer knus.

Pizza's bijzonder droog, doordat er de verkeerde kaas op gebruikt wordt en ook erg zout daardoor. Pasta's prima in orde. Bediening erg goed.

Pizza en lasagne gegeten hier. Bord schoon leeg, zeer lekker. Juiste italiaanse muziek(geen pop) op een prettig volume. Reserveren kan slim zijn daar het niet groot is.(dus lekker rustig)

Het eten en de bediening waren echt fantastisch. Het was allemaal beter uit de verf gekomen als we niet 1 uur en 15 minuten hadden moeten wachten op ons eten. Toen we om 17.00u (openingstijd) op het terras aankwamen werd ons verteld dat we nog even op de oven moesten wachten. Dat even werd dus 1 uur en 15 minuten. Mijn inziens (met horeca ervaring) is een restaurant klaar voor de start als zij haar deuren opent. Dit betekend dat apparatuur ook klaar is met voorverwarmen. Ah fijn. Het eten was fantastisch.

Heerlijk gegeten hier. Huiselijke sfeer in de drukte van Nijmegen. Overzichtelijke kaart met voor iedereen wat wils. Pizza was prima. Leuk dat de eigenaar zelf nog een mooie wijnsuggestie had. Duidelijk dat ze hier hart hebben voor lekker eten.
