Charming restaurant with very knowledgeable and friendly service. The menu is incredibly extensive which benefits the quality of the dishes. Their Portuguese red wine is highly recommended.

A truly special evening for my partners birthday, we cannot recommend this place enough! The food was expertly curated with a wonderful collection of dishes, paired beautifully with a well thought out selection of wine pairings.

When we're on vacation in Makkum, we also go to Workum for dinner. De Smidte is our favorite restaurant. The food is excellent, and the food is absolutely delicious. My favorite meal was once at Christmas, a stuffed steak with salmon, and I'd love to have that again. Now, during the October holidays, we went there twice with seven people. Simply divine. Super nice and friendly. We always make reservations, which is always better, especially when you're dining with several people.
