The Breakfast Club. in Haarlemmerbuurt

I hope someone finds this useful, but I do not recommend this place. We sat at the table downstairs, but since it was a table for 4, waitress asked us to sit at another table for 2 (place was 1/3 empty at the time, but okay, not a problem). She sat us down at a table upstairs and gave us menus. Then we were waiting for like 15 minutes and nobody took our order, but people who came in after us were ordering. I went to the counter and asked if they can take our order and then another waitress said we should order via QR code. I do not know why she couldn’t tell us that at the begining. So we ordered via QR code and had to pre-pay our order. When we got our order, one person got it wrong (pouched eggs with bacon instead of salmon). I asked for replacement and the second time I got completely overcooked eggs. At that time I was already shaking and wanted to leave, but since I pre-paid and already lost 45 minutes of my time my friend went downstairs and asked for a new plate. Luckily third time everything was fine and waitress asked if I wanted a complimentary drink, which was kind. The whole experience all together was really not good, especially considering the prices. I think you should really pay more attention to customer service, the place was not even full and anyways there were so many problems. Also to all the customers I recommend you that you sit downstairs and don’t pre-pay.

During our visit to Amsterdam in October, this was a great way to start each morning. Starting here, after a really delicious breakfast, you can easily explore Amsterdam on foot.

This is the second time I've been here at different times of the year. In May, the atmosphere was fantastic; having breakfast outside in the heat while watching the city go by was truly indescribable. Yesterday, in the middle of December, right in the middle of the Christmas period, sitting inside in the warmth and chatting with the girls was wonderful! Meeting up like this by chance, even far from home. I highly recommend dropping in, even just for a coffee, because everything is magical and spectacular! A must-see on every trip to Amsterdam!

We loved it here! The French toast was delicious, especially the vanilla creamy topping- yum! We also had the avocado toast and put an extra egg on top, very fresh and tasty. The vanilla latte was smooth and creamy too

The food was great, the restaurant was easy to get to, and the waitress was super friendly. The price/performance ratio is good.

I was here to study the other day, the breakfast was good. I liked the staff a lot, they were very nice. Maybe not ideal to study because it gets busy, a bit noisy and there's not many plugs to charge your devices. But all in all a good place for breakfast!

Bread with avocado and a fried egg, among other things. Unfortunately, the fried egg was cold/lukewarm and seemed pre-cooked. We reported it, but the waitress said it was due to the chef's poor scheduling. It's a shame for a sandwich you pay a lot for. The woman who helped us was friendly, but the rest seemed rather disinterested, playing with their phones. I'll skip this place next time. Overpriced and not good value for money.

Breakfast this morning was so good. The English breakfast tea, made with loose leaves, was perfectly smooth and comforting. And the croissant? Buttery, soft, and absolutely delicious with the jam. Simple, cozy, and exactly what I needed to start my day.

The team is amazing! The breakfast I had (Mexico City) is amazing but it is served little bit cold.

Very, very good. We had two hot chocolates with two buttermilk pancakes. Very good, just a fairly long wait between when we received the hot chocolates and the pancakes (15 minutes).

Visited the Breakfast Club at Haarlemmerplein today. Staff friendliness was a bit disappointing — two out of three seemed completely disinterested, almost as if serving customers was a chore. One was banging plates and cutlery so loudly that my sister asked if I thought maybe she was angry. The coffee was fine, but the atmosphere was quite noisy (though I admit I’m a bit sensitive to noise). Overall, not terrible, but definitely room for improvement, the place could be much better with a friendlier, calmer vibe.

I got a green tea and the breakfast burger. A really nice presentation and delicious food! The burger is really fresh and isn't too greasy. The fries were perfectly crisp.

Very disappointed with the food in this location. The eggs Benedict were barely cooked, and the dish was even called. The coffee was also very poor.

Unfortunately, you can only order via qcode, which keeps getting you disconnected from the internet, and pay by credit card. Changes are possible, but the price remains the same. We wanted to leave out the bacon and chicken on our toast; we're vegetarians. That would have been fine, but adding cheese instead wasn't an option. The food was bland. The service, however, was very friendly.

It lost a bit of its original charm and food quality.

A lovely (quiet) spot near the Haarlemmerpoort gate. A small shop with a small patio. Friendly, attentive staff. The menu offers a variety of unusual combinations of ingredients. Something a little different. Exceptionally delicious!

We had a cortado coffee. Was excellent! Blueberry Pancakes and an Omelette, both are very big portions and had a great taste. Very good value for money. Can recommend it!

Waiting for an order for 53 minutes without an apology, any cooperation, or even the drinks being brought beforehand. Bad experience. The restaurant needs management.

Great spot, right by the trams and local game stores, vintage thrifts, and yarn shops, with friendly staff and a talented kitchen serving up breakfast and brunch favorites with Dutch flair. I highly recommend the chicken waffle if you're looking for something sweet, savory, with a touch of refreshing sour and spicy, it hits all those notes and make an incredibly satisfying dish.

The pie and the coffee is great and Theo is an amazing server. Whenever we come here she always makes our day with her smile and great service!!

I really recommend the omelett, with added ham, that I had for 3 mornings. Buy black coffee in a glass, rather than in a cup, and get more :) Super friendly staff.

We had the scrambled eggs (with cheese) on toast and it was so creamy and delicious. Best scrambled eggs I’ve had in a while. It was a quiet morning in the cafe and our food came out in 10 minutes.

Not recommended. I had the chicken burger and it was way overcooked. Also, the coffee was burnt

I tried something different and had the mexico city breakfast, paid extra for the chorizo but it was measly 4 slices between the tortilla, which is very little for the price. Food was good, not special, but I'm still interested in trying out the other dishes. Coffee was good.

Great place to have breakfast. I recommend California egg one, it’s delicious. Cute interiors, I sometimes just go there to have coffee and read my book.

For the chicken waffles, the fried chicken was not crunchy at all and waffles were soggy. The salad was not washed properly and had no olive oil or anything. Service was very slow as well. This kind of food and service was not expected from the breakfast club.

We have tried egg benedicts and english breakfasts. Unfortunately non of them met our expectation. I'm working on the breakfast service in London so actually how they should have been 🥲 But the worst part was the coffee. I ordered flatwhite it was ok but the americanos were unfortunately so bad. Maybe because of the coffee beans that they are using, maybe the machine... The only good part was the staff. I couldn't get his name but he dealt very well with our questions and requests.

Amazing spot for breakfast! This is my fourth time at The Breakfast Club and I love it more every time. The chicken and waffle is outstanding: crispy, juicy, and has a spicy kick that makes it truly unique—perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the waffle. The staff is super friendly and always welcoming. Totally recommended if you’re looking for a flavorful and different breakfast experience.

For the celebration of the King, the six of us went to breakfast...there was a wait but they served us quickly...The place is nice with very good cuisine and very well presented dishes...as well as correct prices...they serve you inside...on the second floor or outside...I recommend it...very close to the Central Station

we went there early in the afternoon and it was half full so it was super nice! the place is well decorated and the dishes we tried were great!! special mention for the chicken club sandwich which was incredible! we recommend this address!

They don't have enough vegan things and I came at 5 p.m. and they didn't have any food left, I was only told when I wanted to order. I also had to run to the waitress and she didn't care that you just sat there and didn't order anything.

The dishes were very good, very good price ratio, the American coffee is excellent, the Benedictines and the English breakfast were very good, the only detail is that it took them about 25 minutes to bring the breakfast and the table was dirty and the place was not completely full

I really liked coming to breakfast club, but it was very overpriced and not good quality. . A boring omelette with 3 cold cherry tomatoes on the side (additional charge 4 euros), with salad (3 arugula leaves without dressing or anything) and cheese that was hard to find…. Shame …..

I ordered a London breakfast and asked if I could changed my eggs to scrambled as fried isn’t quite for me but got a flat out no response with no explanation why. I understand if i was on my own but My husband was ordering scrambled eggs on toast and all they would have to do is add a couple of eggs more in addition to the batch they are making for him… now it actually would be more hassle for them to make two lots of eggs cooked differently. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t be accommodating to customers. Me and my husband shared part of each others eggs. The scrambled was perfect texture wise but completely flavourless. Same for my mushrooms and no butter for the toast… disappointing.

Never had chilli's for breakfast, so chose thr Mexican, love it! Looking at the other tables, the English looks delicious too. Friendly staff.

Wir waren hier und hatten das Frühstück London, sowie jeder einen Latte Machiato mit Caramel. Das Essen war sehr gut und auch das Ambiente hat uns gut gefallen. Wir haben allerdings drinnen gesessen, da man draußen an einer ziemlich stark befahrenen Kreuzung sitzt. Wir geben trotzdem 5 Sterne.

I wasn't allowed to go to the bathroom with friends when we really needed to poop because we ate too many beans. It dripped down my leg and yet it wasn't allowed because we hadn't ordered anything

One of the worst Eggs Benedict I have ever had. One of the eggs was overcooked, the avocado was almost insignificant, and the hollandaise sauce was pretty bland. The coffee was at least delicious. Then I asked for the bill, and eventually I got tired of waiting and got up at the bar to pay... In short, a disastrous experience.

I ordered a blueberry pancake, and the blueberries on top and in the batter were so sexy that they cooked and crumbled ;; The ricotta cheese went well too. Adding whipped cream to the cafe latte is a must.

Food was good but at an increased price. We waited for the food for a long time, then when someone finally spotted us (which took 30 minutes) they cheked in on the order and was mixed tickets. We received an apology and got one more round of free drinks. Toilet is opposite to the kit downstairs and little bit too tight.

Went in today to have a Chai and the london breakfast, and it was the biggest disappointment!! The Chai lacked flavor and tasted of just oat milk. The breakfast was so bad that I didn't finish it. Eggs cooked sunny side up with lots of white still uncooked. The toast felt dry instead of toasted and had zero color to it. The mushrooms and tomatoes were average. The sausage looked and tasted old and the same for the bacon.

However, the price-performance ratio is not quite right - the dishes are a bit overpriced. Still, it's worth giving this cafe a try!

The restaurant's value for money is extremely disappointing. Portions are so small that they are almost miniature-sized. My Egg Benedict order came with a tiny 9 cm piece of bread, a single lettuce leaf, a child-sized poached egg (which I’m not sure was properly cooked in vinegar), and an overly runny sauce that had nothing to do with proper Hollandaise sauce. It was tasteless, and paying 16 euros for this portion is absolutely not worth it. Overall, the portions are too small, the flavors are lacking, and I would never go back again nor recommend it to anyone!

I thought it was quite expensive. Two egg benedict on very small rolls with a lettuce leaf, a coffee and an orange juice 40 euros. The egg benedict sauce was way too thin, kind of watery. It was a bit tasteless. Too bad for that money.

I got the London City Breakfast with an iced caramel latte and it did not disappoint! The sausage wasn’t an English sausage, but it was super tasty and I was not disappointed, in fact I preferred it! The eggs were perfectly cooked, plenty of bacon and the mushrooms were a highlight! Very nicely seasoned. I was able to enjoy my breakfast, read in peace and the waiting staff were extremely friendly and spoke fluently in Dutch and English.

The servers were polite and friendly, but useless. They seemed to have no ‘system’, we waited and waited, had to ask for menus, they never cleared the table after we finished our food. Never offered further food or drinks. I had the ‘London’ full english breakfast at €15. Very poor. Bacon was rubbish, but i expected that because you cant get good thick cut back bacon here in NL. Sausage was so so. Nowt special. Three good cherry tomatoes, a mushroom cut into very small slices. Bread/toast that was of the 1970s kind i didn’t know was still in production! Barely toasted and a bottle of soggy. Beans were clearly not Heinz, watery. Two eggs sunny aide up, at least one of which still has uncooked white. Apart from the egg everything was properly cooked, but the cheap poor quality of the goods prevented it being a good breakfast. It has a good friendly vibe, but that aint enough.

They are unhelpful, can't swap fried eggs for scrambled, won't sell a poached egg despite having eggs Benedict, avoid.

Everything was super delicious and a totally cozy atmosphere!
