Warm and welcoming place with good coffee and food!!!

We've been there for lunch and honestly we had one of the best meal in Amsterdam. If you like greek food, that's your place. I suggest it also if you want to take just a quick coffee, the service is fast and the staff is very kind, specially the owner. We'll come back for sure!

We are two guys who are traveling the world, we stopped in this Greek bar restaurant, they welcomed us very well, the place is well treated and you can choose whether to stay inside or outside tables, a quiet environment with kind people, a very good cuisine, and varied typical Greek dishes, we found ourselves very well

The lunch menu was very thin and disappointing- more european breakfast meals for brunch than actual greek, this is not what I came for. Service was also not good. Waited forever just to get a glass of water. And the one free table outside was below the kitchen fan, I guess if you like a strong hair dryer with a greesy smell, that's your seat! I would not come again. Sad!

An incredibly cozy and lovely place to quietly enjoy a good cup of coffee. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making you feel at ease immediately. It is truly a nice spot to unwind, sit comfortably, and enjoy something tasty. What surprised us most positively was the delicious Greek börek. It was fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. Definitely recommended if you love tasty savory snacks. Additionally, the staff were incredibly friendly and nice. We were served politely and hospitably, and the service was just as it should be. That makes the whole experience extra pleasant. In short, a cozy place with tasty coffee, delicious Greek börek, and friendly staff. We will definitely come back here again and absolutely recommend this place if you are in the area!

Sadly we had a really bad experience here as my girlfriend got food poisoning from their octopus. Especially with seafood this can be quite dangerous and just really horrible to go through. The rest of the food was okay. Starter was nice, the chicken was good but the sauce wasn't - basically chicken with mayonnaise and two tomatoes. The people were really nice and it's a good location, but that's about it.. If it wasn't for the food poisoning I'd say it's a 3 out of 5 overall. But with it it's 0.. destroyed our Friday evening.

Back After my holiday (Crete) I wanted a Greek experience..

Unfortunately the Google reviews are not correct for the restaurant part, maybe coffee part had the good reviews.. I have been in many Greek restaurants, comparing to them food was just decent, toilet was extremely dirty and stinky, there was not enough staff, so we had to wait all the time for everything and staff was also looking quite tired. Prices are very high.

Just delicious sweets - juices and personnel with a unique sense of hospitality.

Great food! Except the moussaka, unfortunately the meat was a bitter and the dish lost the proper taste. The guys are very nice, be patient with them!

I think my Barista was called Evita? super welcoming and sweet girl which makes the best coffees in amsterdam!! if the management reads this she should definitely get a raise!! she is the only reason why i would come back here, the service was really the best

It was ok. The food was normal and the environment was ok too. I was surprised for the price of the bottle of water. I thought they were going to serve a bottle of tap water but instead of this, they served a 7 euros bottle. I was socked!

The atmosphere is very pleasant, but the food is not tasty. The calamari and fries were bitter due to the taste of overcooked oil. The flatbreads were dry. The beef patties were okay. The chairs were very uncomfortable. The only saving grace is the location. If I go back, it will only be for coffee.

Kind and friendly servers and amazing coffee

Visited the restaurant for brunch. Ordered a couple of savory items to share and they were tasty. On the sweet side we ordered some red berries pancakes that were not up to the price they charge in the menu. Our waitress was kind and fun, Greek of course. I’d really like to come try the dinner dishes soon!

Great place for brunch, my favourite so far. Phillo pie is super delicious and filling. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The overall atmosphere is as if you go visit your friends cafe.

Food was decent. Ambiance was kind of terrible, to be honest. We were seated in the back area, which really feels like an unloved storage area. The walls were very scuffed, the floor was dirty - it was covered in brown blossom leaves despite there no longer being blossom on the trees at this time of year, suggesting the floor had not been properly swept for some time… The lighting is horrible, and some lights were broken. The toilets were also quite disgustingly maintained, and the kitchen area looked untidy. Service was slow; we waited for quite some time before any orders were taken. This place needs a serious refresh if it expects to continue selling plates at these prices - the environment just doesn’t match the cost.

One of my favorite spots in town

I had given five stars when I visited two years ago. I stayed at the same hotel in Amsterdam again and wanted to return to Greek Embassy. I wish we hadn’t gone: 1. We were seated in an extremely noisy dining room. The indoor section consisted of two dining areas - the first part was very quiet, but the second part, where we were seated, was excessively loud. The problem could easily be solved if they invested a bit in sound insulation. 2. For some reason, the starters and main course were served at the same time. Why?.We were so exhausted from the noise that I didn’t even complain - I ended up having a very poor meal, even though the food itself was very tasty. 3. On our way out, we left the hotel key card on the table. We realized it 5 minutes later and went back. They had thrown it in the bin and retrieved it from the trash to give back to us.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

So... I find it really hard to come up with a good review and here is why: we went for dinner at The Greek Embassy and boy did we have a great meal! The food is great! A 10/10! But... where to start with our thoughts on service? Yes, I know Amsterdam is not exactly known for its great customer service, but this experience was a big dissapointment. When we were sat down we waited quite some time for the menu, only to be told after we asked someone that the menu is to be scanned via the QR-code that is hidden on a small candle holder. Why not mention this to (in our case: first time) guests? Also, not one of the staff members came to check in on us during the night ("how is the food? Would you like something to drink? Everything OK? Would you like a dessert?", you know the drill...) and at the end of the night we were presented with the bill without anything being said... it felt kinda like: "get out of here please" (often they ask you: "our kitchen is closing, would you like a last round?"). And it is not the case that the staff members were unfriendly (to the contrary: when they brought our food we were met with a smile) but it is lacking the basic principles of hospitality: a smile and some small talk to make the guests feel welcome goes a long way...

I was looking for a place close to our hotel specifically for breakfast, and I definitely made the right choice. The café has a wide selection of coffees. We chose the classic ones and were very satisfied. For breakfast, we had toast with various toppings – the portions were quite generous. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The location is in a quiet neighborhood, where you can enjoy a relaxing breakfast.

I was walking by and desperately needed to pee. At the bar, I asked if I could use the restroom. They didn't ask if I wanted to buy anything or if I had to pay for it beforehand. After using the restroom, I placed a euro on the bar, but the bartender refused to accept any money. I left it anyway. The Greek Embassy provided excellent service, and I'll definitely be back for drinks and snacks.

They’d run out of pastries by 15:00 on a Sunday. The eggs on toast were good, I’d recommend with the Greek sausage. I didn’t like the acidity of the coffee here

We had high hopes before coming here. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. I had the moussaka. It was just bland and tasted like it was stale. My friend got the grilled chicken. And it was just that. It was just grilled chicken with no Greek touch. Another friend of mine got the lamb and that was great. I expected all the dishes we got here to be above average based on the reviews. The people were very friendly and accommodating but based on the quality of the food we had, I don’t think I will go back there for dinner.

Amazing place. The staff are extremely friendly, and they truly serve you a little piece of Greece:) It must be noted that the price for their pies (which were amazing) is ‘pinched’ ie. too high… However, they were so good, and can you really blame them for not sacrificing quality?

Had some tasty food with nothing to complain about

I had a very disappointing experience at The Greek Embassy - Coffee Bar Kouzina (Weesperzijde). The food is at best average – nothing special, nothing memorable. What really shocked me were the prices. We were charged €6.90 for a simple bottle of still water. That’s outrageous. It feels like they are taking advantage of customers rather than offering genuine value. For me, this place is far from authentic hospitality – it’s overpriced and not worth it. I definitely do not recommend it. In my opinion, it borders on being a rip-off.

After visiting Crete this summer, my partner and I thought it would be time to catch up on one of our facorute cuisines: Greek. However, this place was disappointing and it does NOT live up to its name “Greek Embassy”. It felt like the products/ingredients in the food were made from Albert Heijn veggies and it simply was a big slap in the face after tasting so much wonderful Greek food this summer. If you choose to make simple things, you have to make sure the quality is excelent … which it was not. The staff however, did great. They were kind, and it was positive. However, once again, if you call a place the Greek embassy, it should honour the food and culture, not be a mediocre place in my opinion.

The price for the tzatziki and pita is too high unfortunately and the tzatziki was unfortunately tasteless. But still love the vibes and the wine!

After a few days of eating street food we needed something healthy and refreshing so bad! Even though they had ran out of the Caesar salad with chicken they accommodated us by adding chicken to their greek salad. They also have a grilled chicken dish that has the most generous protein portion. Real great place if you are looking to eat something healthy!
