Friendly service and delicious food on a lovely terrace. The Bougatsa feta honey was nice and crispy and had the right balance of salt and sweetness—delicious! The Greek eggs Kayanas were also delicious, with a nice thick slice of sourdough bread. Highly recommended! The only point for improvement is the lack of a physical menu. Reading the menu on your phone is less convenient than browsing through it.

Had lunch here today with a friend and we both had the avocado toast. It was honestly the best avo toast I’ve ever had! Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere 🙏🏼

The food has such an authentic taste, and many of the staff are Greek, which gives the place a real Greek vibe. If you want to drink something unique, I definitely recommend the mountain tea. It’s delicious and refreshing as an iced drink during your meal, but you can also enjoy it warm as an after-dinner tea. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is located on a street where not many cars pass by, so you can enjoy your meal peacefully. There are quite a few cyclists though, which adds to the lively yet relaxed atmosphere. After dinner, you could take a walk along the Amstel to enjoy a stunning sunset view.

So, my wife and I went to the Greek Embassy deli place, which was nice, and they told us about the “restaurant” on the weesperzijde. Then I started seeing one post after another on Instagram, and it looked good. So we booked a table since we love Greek food. However after going there we left very disappointed. The staff wasn’t particularly polite or good, but more importantly the food was not good at all. My wife had the grilled pork belly and it was tasteless. I had the pork stew, which was slightly better, but also not good. My wife and I are both good cooks, so we have some expectations, but this did not even hit our minimum expectation. The best thing they have going for themselves is the location, but that’s not enough for a repeat visit.

Wouldn't recommend. We were given a cramped table for two, four of us. After the main course: octopus in vinegar, I became very ill within 20 minutes. Nauseous and vomited three times in the restaurant. "It can't be the dish. Maybe something is bothering you," I felt very ill. After some discussion, this dish was eventually removed from the bill, but it didn't feel hearty. I wouldn't recommend eating here.

As a Greek I was finding for an occasional escape, to feel like I’m in Greece for 1-2 hours and with this place I feel like it! When I have the need I go there to sit and drink a Freddo espresso, eat a bougatsa also, say a Hi to the friendly and lovely stuff that works there and also enjoy the Amstel part of Amsterdam. Highly recommended. The food also is great! Enjoy the mezedes

Delicious food, friendly staff, a good atmosphere, and reasonable prices. The only downside was the outdoor seating. They weren't the most comfortable, but that aside, it's definitely recommended.

They have two locations and the other location has a much better menu. They removed the gyros pita off this menu for some reason and it was easily one of the best things they served.

Disappointed with my first meal in Amsterdam. While seating was quick (table of 1), the service was slow; I waited about 10 minutes before waving a waiter to put in my order and ask for water. Unfortunately, the tigania tsipouro I ordered was incredibly bland, heavily lacking in salt, spices and proper browning on the pork. It ended up being a very dry dish tasting like boiled pork, I ordered an additional eggplant dip on the side to supplement some flavour. The restaurant itself is in a great location and I love the atmosphere - it would be great to have brunch here, but the dinner service does not live up to the expectations or the price.

Excellent Greek food! The variety of food from the beginning of the day to the end make it an ideal place to sit by the terrace during the summer with friends until the sunset by the Amstel. Recommended!

The local’s comprehensive bar/cafe/restaurant menu and location by the water make it an amazing place for a summer stop. If you can sit outside for the sunset by the Amstel, definitely recommended! The snacks and drinks make it worthwhile.

Nice option for an evening bite! Was in the neighborhood, and hopped by a for a quick bite. Ordered a Greek Salad alongside some steak, and bread, and it was all great and very fresh! The view from the front window is also nice during the sunset as the whole Amstel catches life. Totally recommended during the summer!

The food portions are very small. My child has eaten more food than what they served to the adults. DO NOT TRY THE SOUVLAKI DOGS: THERE ARE 3 SMALL CHICKEN BITES ON A SAUCY BUN. Go to the pizza places next to it.

I ordered the Spanakopita and the avocado toast. Both very good. A shame that they run out of the other pies, I wanted to try the Bougatsa too. Total: 21,75€. The place was busy on Sunday afternoon, but there is a lot of place to sit inside and the service is very fast.

There was practically nothing left for brunch, so we had toast with scrambled eggs and sausages on top. Nothing very Greek about that. It was impossible to get some pita bread with tzatziki or even olives because they don't serve them during brunch. We had asked for a Dutch beer because we were already familiar with Greek beer, and we were served German beer.

The food was very good, not as greasy as it sometimes is in other Greek restaurants. The service was also very friendly and attentive. The location right on the river is perfect, even though we sat inside.

We tried the Greek Eggs Kayanas, and they were absolutely spectacular—full of flavor and cooked to perfection! The only downside was the wait for our coffee. Even though we asked about it 20 minutes, it took about 40 minutes to arrive, which was a bit of a letdown. Still, the food made up for it, and we’ll definitely be back!

This is what happens when you focus solely on making money and not on the customer service and quality of what you are offering. After a couple of visits we won’t be visiting again.

Used to enjoy this place. They have a new menu--but, unfortunately, the quality's gone downhill, while prices went up. €22 for grilled beef sausages with some pink mayo (so-called beetroot mustard mayo that only tastes like mayo) and 2 cherry tomatoes (so called confit tomatoes). Service was friendly enough, though. We all understand about inflation and the tough economic climate, but the meals here are really not offering good value anymore. It's really not good practice to have your food markedly deteriorate just because you've gotten so popular due to your sunny / riverside terrace. Word of poor experiences will get around more quickly than those of previous praises. As we have paid for the overpriced 'rekening', so will these places eventually need to face the reckoning from growing dissatisfaction.

We sat inside, and it was very, very loud. This is probably why the waiter didn't understand that we wanted an appetizer first. We got the appetizer and the main course at the same time. Since the tables are very small, it was pretty chaotic. The food wasn't that tasty either, in my opinion. It was lightly seasoned and presented rather carelessly, especially the grilled pork belly. So, I won't go back. The staff were very friendly, though.

Very disappointed in this place. reccomdations were good, my friend has been here before and liked it(not anymore) so we decided to give it a try. When we wanted to order they told us the the menu was updated, so you would expect some elevation of dishes, but unfortunately elavation applies only to the prices while everything else is just worse. What we wanted to order was not on the new menu anymore, so we decided to order beef patties instead, which was supposed to also have tzatziki as it was mentioned on the new menu. But the plate came looking very meager and without tzatziki. When we asked about it, the waiter said that, our menu is updated but it has some "mistakes". Well, if you're telling us that we cannot order from old menu and then please give us the menu with correct description- cause people read menus and order based on description?! When we asked if they will bring us the tzatziki or not, the waiter hesitantly said that they need to check if it's possible or not... how this can be so complicated...it's made in batches and takes you nothing to correct your faulty menu. Finally, we were given a measley portion consisting of 2 spoons of tzatziki for both us. What makes this experience even worse that this plate of 2 meat patties and 3 slices of tomato with few bits of onion is 20 euros... Unbelievable scam. I have been to many Greek restaurants, but none ever left such a bad impression on me. Mediocre food, insane price for laughable plate and poor service. Definitely a big NO!

I really liked the atmosphere of this place, plus they do coffee / bar / restaurant and have large opening hours. It’s by the water, perfect for a sunny afternoon or sunset. And the service is really great, Jorge and Antonis are among the sweetest waiters I met. Jorge made really good wine recommendations and event let me taste a red wine before ordering it! Definitely recommend ☺️

Sadly, this place has gone downhill. I visited recently and was shocked by how poor the overall experience was. The freddo espresso was burnt and undrinkable — I threw it away immediately. It’s honestly one of the worst coffees I’ve had in Amsterdam. What made it worse was the extremely rude attitude of the manager. It’s shocking how someone working in hospitality can be so arrogant and unprofessional. And even more disappointing coming from a fellow Greek who shows no respect to Greek customers either. I waited nearly an hour just to get the bill, and when I finally paid, I felt completely ripped off. Small portions, mediocre flavors, and ridiculously high prices. This place used to have some potential, but not anymore. Would not return. Would not recommend.

My experience at The Greek Embassy Cuisine was disappointing in every way. The freddo espresso I ordered was burnt and bitter to the point that I threw it away immediately — completely unacceptable for a place that claims to represent Greek taste. The manager was incredibly rude, with absolutely no manners. Even though he is Greek, he doesn't even know how to treat Greek customers properly. You wait over an hour just to pay for something overpriced that you instantly regret. The food has changed for the worse: smaller portions, mediocre taste, and ridiculously high prices. It might have been worth it once, but now all that's left is disappointment. I won’t go back, and I definitely do not recommend it to anyone.

We went there for a meeting, sat in the back as they had nothing in front or outside. I can't lie, the food is very tasty, but the quality-price ratio gives me a big zero. Also, there was a guy who was screaming at the staff. When we asked later who it was, we were informed that it was the manager. Unacceptable to shout at your staff like that in front of customers. This guy was around 50+ and still doesn't know how to react to people. Overall not so good experience, I don’t recommend.

Used to be my go-to spot for a good freddo espresso, and some great bites. However, in the past couple of months a lot has changed. The size of the freddo espresso has goten increasingly smaller, and the taste is not like it used to be; it’s more bitter. The menu has also changed. Pictures on Google are not like what they serve in the restaurant. The mixed grill - which had always been a favorite - is nowhere to be found. The mains come without any fries/pita etc. Same for the starters and dips. The dishes are just underwhelming. Overall, I’ll come back for a drink on the terrace, but won’t be back for the food.

Horrible staff and zero service. Was waiting in line for a table for 20 minutes. Behind me 12 other people. This “friend of the bartender” arrives and skips the entire line and takes the only free table. When confronting the staff they were like “yeah but she’s my friend”.. never going here again, hope no one else does as well

Delicious food and this place has nothing to do with the "traditional Dutch Greek restaurant" where you are served different pieces of a grilled pig (quantity). The dishes resemble home-made dishes when mom wants to prepare something special. I should know....
