A frustrating experience I feel obliged to share. We had lunch as a group at Kaia and waited over an hour and a half for our mains. One colleague had to leave before eating — and we skipped dessert entirely due to the delays. What I found most unacceptable was the response from management. Rather than acknowledging the problem or attempting any goodwill gesture, the owner and manager dismissed our complaint outright. No apology, no accountability. Service delays happen — but how a restaurant handles them speaks volumes. Kaia's handling fell well short of acceptable. Avoid this restaurant at all cost.

Worst.experience.of.my.life Rude, extremely slow, unprofessional and unfriendly. I will never go near this place again or recommend it to anyone. At the end the food is not even worth it, it’s barely fine.

Sincerely the best Greek comtempary restaurant I have ever eaten it. Just incredible and en excellent selection of Greek wines. Remarquable and discrete table service also. It desserves one Michelin star.

We were kinda disappointed. We had to wait for 45 minutes for carpaccio and 30 minutes for the homemade bread? The staff is saying that they will be right back but you need to wait 10 minutes and you need to call them again because they forgot. We sat there around 9pm and nobody mention that the kitchen is closing at 10pm so we didn’t manage order main dishes.

Ate here during the week on a business lunch. one of the finest restaurants i have been to from the quality of the service to some of the best presented and tasty food. Cant recommend this place highly enough. it is fantastic, and to make it even better the sun was out and we sat outside.

We absolutely loved this restaurant! We went in with no expectations, just wanting to try something new, and the food turned out to be absolutely delicious. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam—I’m already looking forward to coming back. The service was great overall, though we did feel a bit rushed at times. For example, we were encouraged to order bread right as we sat down, which we agreed to, but it would have been nice if it had been suggested alongside a starter we later ordered. We also would have loved to try another dessert—the one we had was amazing—but by then they were closing and we couldn’t get the staff’s attention. That said, one of the waitresses was particularly knowledgeable, clearly explaining each dish and offering thoughtful recommendations. Overall, a wonderful experience with just a few minor service hiccups.

The definition of style and class … unexpectedly top dishes

Stunning. Every dish is magical. The carpaccio was one of the best I've ever had. Homemade bread and brioche with butter. The lachanodolmas was incredible, perfectly balanced, and served with fluffy rice. The cabbage was cooked to perfection. The Athinaiki was beautifully prepared; for me, the best dish on the menu. And the sea bass was a simple yet impeccable beurre blanc. A restaurant-quality dessert to top off a perfect meal. The restaurant and service were top-notch.

Best Greek food in Amsterdam. Totally recommend!

I went there with my mother and we had a wonderful time sitting outside. The food was absolutely delicious, the servers were warm and delightful, and the overall atmosphere was so nice. Also many compliments to the interiour of the restaurant, it is very stylish!

I used to come to KAIA approx once a month for the great food. Yesterday when I came again with my team for a team building, I was told that my booking (5 people) is only active for an hour and a half. This is ridiculous. I was never told that on a reserving stage and would never suggest to have a team building activity with such a time constraint. Yet the manager was super pushy that I was notified on this constraint while booking. I was not. I am never coming back. This is the worst service ever.

Kaia Amsterdam RAI is highly recommended. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed, making it easy to stay for a long time. The staff is welcoming and very attentive. The food was surprisingly tasty and clearly prepared with care. Everything was just right – from service to presentation. I will definitely come back here again.

Great steak, super service and a nice ambience with good music.

We were really looking forward to Greek food, but were disappointed by the small and limited selection when we saw the menu for "modern Greek cuisine." The portions were very small, and the prices were rather high in comparison. The ribs were black and charred. We didn't feel any enthusiasm from the staff; one course was even forgotten. Visually, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, so there's definitely room for improvement in terms of both taste and, above all, service. For us, the price-performance ratio is not right. P.S. No return visit...

Food was decent. Some dishes were good and some were a little bland. Service was fine. There was a very big group behind us what made our experience a little disappointing. They were very loud and we had to practically yell to hear eachother.

Not your typical Greek restaurant, but refined and well-executed. The grilled octopus was perfectly tender, and the lamb dishes were full of flavor without being heavy. Beautiful presentation and good wine selections by the glass. The ambiance is warmly lit. The service is friendly and genuine.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely, and the service was polite and attentive throughout our visit. The staff were welcoming, and the dishes themselves showed real potential in terms of concept and presentation. Unfortunately, we felt that the execution let the food down. Several dishes, including the fish and ribeye, were overcooked and heavily seasoned. Everything, from the chips to the purée, fish, and meat, was quite salty, and some items were also very rich with butter. The chips in particular were disappointing. When we mentioned that the food was overly salty, we were told that this was due to the use of thick sea salt. However, in our view, the issue was more about the overall level of seasoning rather than the type of salt used. We also felt that many of the dishes were covered in quite heavy, sticky sauces. In our view, the ingredients would have benefited from a lighter touch, allowing the quality of the food to speak for itself rather than being overwhelmed by seasoning and sauce. We genuinely hope the restaurant refines the balance of flavours, as the foundations are there for it to be a very good dining experience. We wish them every success going forward.

My partner and I chose KAIA for our Valentine’s dinner. While the food was delicious and the venue is nice, the overall experience was quite disappointing. First, when making the reservation, the website mentioned a dedicated Valentine’s menu for a fixed price per person. During dinner, we were surprised to learn that the menu was meant to be shared. Each dish was served as one portion for two people, even though we both paid the full price per person. The portions were very small, which might have been fine individually, but when shared, it felt minimal - for example, the main dish resulted in about two spoons of risotto per person. It would have been much better if this had been clearly communicated in advance, especially since the menu was presented as a full dinner experience. Secondly, the service felt very rushed. Plates were taken away before we had fully finished eating, which came across as a bit impersonal, as if the table needed to be turned quickly. Less than an hour after we sat down, we had just finished dessert and still had drinks in our glasses when the bill was placed on the table without us asking. No one checked if we’d like anything else. The same happened during payment - the terminal was brought over immediately, without being asked. It’s a shame because the food was truly delicious and the staff seemed nice. With clearer communication and a more relaxed pace of service, the experience could have been much better.

Very pleasant experience! The service was excellent, the restaurant was spotlessly clean, and each dish was explained clearly and with great care. The staff was always ready to help with any questions and everyone was extremely friendly.

We visited Kaia for dinner on New Year’s Day. Aesthetically, the restaurant is stunning, with a sophisticated and trendy atmosphere that immediately sets high expectations. The meal started on a strong note with the two types of bread served with fig butter, which was excellent. We also ordered the tzatziki, which was fine, and the chips with oregano mayo, which were very good. The ribs stifado was enjoyable and well prepared. Unfortunately, the biggest letdown of the evening was the “ribeye.” I’m still not convinced this was actually a ribeye cut — it was quite tough and had virtually no marbling. When we raised this with the waitress at the end of the meal, she explained that it was a ribeye but that the fat is trimmed off. However, the defining characteristic of a ribeye is its marbling and fat-to-meat ratio; removing this defeats the purpose of the cut. If that’s the approach, a rump or bavette would make more sense. Additionally, the outside of the steak tasted burnt, as though the grill hadn’t been cleaned properly. We ended up not finishing the dish. At a price point of €42 for a 250g steak, we would expect a significantly higher quality of meat and execution. Overall, Kaia delivers on ambiance and some dishes, but the steak was disappointing given the expectations set by both the restaurant and the pricing.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Kaia has a limited menu, and that's precisely what ensures that every dish is prepared with care. My favorites are the homemade bread with fig jam, the carpaccio, the stifado, and the vanilla dessert. Highly recommended for a fun night out and one of my favorite restaurants!

We wanted to share how much we enjoyed our recent meal. The food was full of flavor. The bread was warm, and the fig butter was especially delicious. The dishes were nicely cooked; the ribs were tender, and the sea bass was perfectly crispy. The staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was comfortable and pleasant. We brought our 2-year-old toddler, and she loved the food as well.

The food was absolutely incredible, and a big thank you to the chefs who were very skilled. However, the servers were friendly but not very efficient. You should keep the wine separate from the guests because we didn't know which bottle we were being served, and especially which ones were ours. Even the servers got confused and kept mixing the wines in our glasses. That said, we had a very good evening.

Really lovely place to eat out. The vibe is very cozy and the interior of the restaurant is decorated beautifully. The ribs stifado are really good, very juicy and tasty. Would recommend those to anyone. The service was good too. The location might be a bit unknown, not really near the centre, but it's easily reachable with the north-south metro. Will come back for sure to taste the rest of the menu!

Really nice place, the restaurant has a nice look to it. There was a good atmosphere. We had the chicken krasato for the main course. It was very tasty and we really enjoyed it! We will surely come back to taste the ribeye as well, which we heard is a bit of a favorite. Not your typical greek place for sure, but definitely worth a visit!

KAIA Contemporary Greek is a beautifully designed restaurant with a warm, modern interior, and the staff are genuinely friendly and attentive. The carpaccio was excellent — fresh, delicate, and definitely the highlight of the meal. That said, the restaurant does feel a bit overpriced for what you get, and at times it seems to try a little too hard to present itself as ultra-luxurious. While the ambiance is lovely, some of the elevated touches feel more performative than necessary. Still, with its great service and standout dishes, KAIA is worth a visit — just be prepared for a higher bill than expected.

Delicious food! The place is located not far from the exhibition center. The atmosphere is pleasant! The prices are average. I had the tomahawk and carpaccio.

The food is truly fantastic! Especially that dish with the unpronounceable name and mushrooms, sublime! Actually, everything we tasted was incredibly good and unforgettable ❤️ The bread with fig jam is also highly recommended. The chef was incredibly friendly, and so were most of the waitresses. Only one waitress stood out a bit: she didn't let us taste the wine and placed the glasses down rather gruffly, while she did a tasting session at the table behind us. That was a bit strange. But then again, everyone has an off day now and then. Small tip: the lettering on the menu is a bit small (my mother had to use her phone's flashlight to read it 😅). That might be a bit difficult for older guests, so it might be nice to offer a small light for the menu at the chef's table as well. I had a wonderful lunch at this cozy restaurant. The service was friendly and efficient. I ordered the soup of the day and a chicken salad—both dishes were wonderfully fresh. The presentation was attractive, and the flavors were well-balanced. The decor was stylish, with lots of wood and plants. The music was pleasant but not too loud. The atmosphere was lively but not overcrowded. The desserts looked tempting and tasted fantastic. A wonderful experience from start to finish.

This is not just an ordinary Greek restaurant, but a Michelin-starred Greek establishment. Small dishes to share. No standard dishes, but unique flavor combinations. A true taste explosion in the mouth. Excellent wine list with good Greek wines. Clear explanation of the concept and good advice regarding the quantity and size of the dishes. It is a bit noisy, especially when there are groups, but you can still have a normal conversation. Reservations recommended. Do not go here if you want simple, large portions, and relatively cheap Greek food.

Although the food was tasty, the service was very poor. Multiple times we had to wait a over 15 minutes before we could order and some drinks were forgotten. We received menus with different prices listed on them. All in all many small mistakes that made the experience less enjoyable.

Although the place looks very elegant, the type and volume of the music simply does not match the vibe. I could barely hear the person sitting in front to me. The service was attentive, food was okay but definitely below expectations

Unfortunately the service left a bit to be desired. The food was good but we felt not worth the premium price. It looked as though they were short staffed the evening we visited. Ironically, this was our most expensive dinner while in Amsterdam but the one we liked the least.
