Wow, a lovely little Greek taverna in the heart of Amsterdam. So glad we found this gem. The food was truly delicious, so I definitely recommend it. You can also order takeout. To guarantee a table, make a reservation in advance. It's definitely worth it!

Delicious, affordable. Genuinely friendly staff. A victim of its own success: you have to check your email to see if your reservation has been confirmed (the interface appears to indicate a possible reservation, but it's only a request, without indicating whether the restaurant is full). The wait time for the caterer can be a bit long.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The dishes we ordered were a delight for our taste buds. They tasted truly authentic Greek. We'll definitely be back.

This is a great spot to try Greek food, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is diverse, and most of the dishes we tried were good. However, charging €3 for a liter of tap water felt a bit excessive, especially since it’s usually offered free of charge in most places. Some dishes also missed the mark: the olives were far too salty, the artichoke had inedible hairy parts, and the red sauce served with the kebab was overly spicy. On a positive note, the baklava was absolutely delicious!

I went yesterday to try this place but I was disappointed by the service. You need to pay for having tap water which for me normally belongs to very touristy place. The food was ok but the selection of 4 mezze is 4 dry types of food so I wanted to change one of them for tatsiki, to have a more balanced meal. But unfortunately the manager was totally close to making any changes which I also find a pity, and there was not even a try to ask to the kitchen, it was just a firm and cold no. The food was ok but not worth this type of service.

Absolutely delicious! Great ingredients, everything was fresh and full of flavor. We had the plate to share for two, and were very happy with all the dishes it consisted of. We also recommend the orange cake with ice cream. Worth visiting!

Solid place for a quick and tasty greek lunch. Can’t vouch for the authenticity, but the place is run by greeks and the decor is full-blown greek taverna style. We had like a pita salad: pita at the bottom with multiple things on top, which I particularly enjoyed. Food was fresh, tzatziki was on top and I liked it. Service a bit rushed, but overall quite good.

However, the food didn’t quite meet expectations — the cabbage was a bit too chewy, and the moussaka had potatoes underneath, which isn’t my preference. Overall, not the best Greek food I’ve had, but the staff made the experience pleasant.

Ive been several times to this place (also when it was a traiteur) and never ended up disappointed! The quality of the food is similar to what you can find in Greece and the service is nice! Keep the good work!

We entered the store at around 3:30 pm and the lady briefly announced that “they open at 5”. Clearly there were people all around the store eating and drinking. We decided to wait although we were not sure what “we open at 5” means when they were already open. 5 comes around we enter the store again (at 5:03 exactly) people eating and many empty tables. This time they tell us that there are no tables available. Clearly we were not informed by anyone that we should reserve a table. As I see it the lady at the entrance could have at least offered to put us in the waiting list. Disappointing service we won’t be back.

Glad I tried this gem in De Pijp ✨ it’s like I traveled to Greece without leaving Amsterdam. Dolma and chicken kebob on point and will come back!

As a Greek, I am really happy that "Romios" exists. I visited recently and it truly felt like home. I tried a variety of dishes and everything was delicious. The flavors, the hospitality and the overall vibe all bring you back to Greece. Overall, it is a great place for both Greeks and internationals to get an authentic taste of Greek cuisine in a warm and welcoming setting.

Local greek food, amazing!!!! It’s a family-run restaurant and we loved the treat here. Food was really good, and price-quality was perfect, you don’t see this usually in Amsterdam. So this is a gem worth visiting!! Only downside is that they go very fast with the serving and within <1h we were finished and we felt being kicked out of the place.

Had dinner here last night following a message from Wesley from Greek Blue. We loved it. This is really the taste of Greece that you will not find in many Greek restaurants in the Netherlands. Nice little restaurant. Unfortunately too far from Leeuwarden otherwise we would definitely come more often. We only took mezze's as we often do in Greece. We got the impression that people thought it was a bit strange that we didn't have a main course. But once again a delicious meal!

Very good and authentic Greek food. Very warm place!!! Okra in Amsterdam you can imagine! But it has everything! Great oily beans, okra, peas! I got delicious cabbage dumplings!

Made a confirmed reservation on time. When we arrived there was a scribbled note on the door saying " closed due to technical issues. I bet those issues where the hangovers you had from kingsday. Didn't even receive a call. It was a planned birthday even. Never experienced anything like this before.

Best Greek restaurant in Amsterdam if you ask me (as a Greek). Very good value for money, lots of food and very tasty. Extensive menu and plenty of vegetarian options. Table service by the young gentleman was great! The host at the entrance was a bit sour, but he could just be having a bad day. All in all, highly recommended, we will definitely come back here!

It was a wet Thursday afternoon when two wearied travellers stumbled across Romios Griekse Taverna - and they were in for a really special treat. Two marvellously cold Mythos and the Romios Grill for 2, cured the famished travellers! Excellent authentic Greek food - with Tzatziki to die for! Will definitely be returning!

My friend ordered octopus on the eggplant, she had noticed the octopus is not so fresh, tastes a bit strange. When got home she got vomiting and diarrhea, so we think the octopus was problematic. The waitress was so friendly. The salads and mezes were fine.

Ate here on Saturday. For the first time that we had the feeling of not being in the Netherlands but in Greece at a Greek restaurant in the Netherlands. The taste of starters, main courses and desserts was truly authentically Greek! The people who work there are all very friendly and customer-oriented. Even if we have to come from outside Amsterdam, we will definitely come back here!

We tried the Easter menu, the soup, lamb and potatoes are all well cooked and delicious. Kokoretsi well cooked but not to our taste, because we used to eat spicy seasoning version in Turkiye.

We couldn’t stay for long, since the place was fully booked (you really have to wait for the e-mail confirmation, to have the a spot for sure. They could show it in the time options on the website, just a thought). The food was pretty good, first appetizer was really nice: the mushroom in puff pastry. The rest of the food was okey, fresh ingredients. Prices are pretty steep. Still, good and friendly service. Might come back to have more time and try other dishes.

We came as a family of 11 to celebrate the holiday at this Greek restaurant in Amsterdam and were very disappointed. The first courses were okay, but the second courses were almost inedible and we returned most or some of them. The kebab was really not tasty, the fish we ordered was burnt and therefore dry, the moussaka was not tasty and we hardly ate any of it. In short, I don't understand how and why this restaurant received such a score. I estimate it to be mediocre and below that, I don't recommend it.

Small restaurant with takeaway. Very friendly staff even on a busy Saturday. They were completely booked but added a table for me on the sidewalk outside with the other patio customers. Grilled octopus was incredible.

Very rude and lazy or just an unprofessional waiter. Be prepared that you will not be able to take the free tables near the window, because the waiter is inconvenient to serve them and you will be offered a table near the serving table🫣. We were shocked because every greeks we know before were very hospitality. Can’t recommend this place.

The food was tasty and well-prepared, but I found the portions quite small for the price (when compared to other Greek restaurants in the Netherlands). There were also a few moments when the staff didn’t seem particularly welcoming, which affected the overall experience a bit.

Chicken gyros pita was one of the best i've had and i thought it was ok sized for 14€. Tap water was 3€/liter. Really cute place, and very clean! So refreshing to see a restaurant that is well cared for. We only had the gyros pitas so can't comment much more on the menu but my friend did get hers without onions per request and we really enjoyed our lunch here.

Their hospitality is heartfelt, and you can taste the love in every dish. Here, you’ll find truly authentic, homemade Greek cuisine—far from the typical Dutch Greek restaurants that serve only dry grilled meat and pita, which misrepresent what Greek food is really about. I didn’t come here just because I live nearby; it was also highly recommended by my Greek friends, who assured me it was excellent. And they were absolutely right! We enjoyed cabbage rolls stuffed with minced meat, pita with spicy cheese, and, of course, the incredibly tender lamb stew and lamb tongue over rice—every bite was flavorful and delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back every month! Their Greek wines are also worth trying—herbal, fresh, and different from the usual selections. It’s completely unfair to leave a one-star review over a small mistake, like accidentally adding onions to a pita—especially for a restaurant like Romios, where the owners genuinely care about their guests. I’m sure that if you let them know, they would gladly replace your dish without hesitation. Restaurants like this, run with passion and kindness, deserve our support. Please be so kind for the restaurant. Make sure to book a reservation, as it’s always packed day and night! And the prices are surprisingly reasonable compared to many overpriced restaurants in Amsterdam. And its vegetation/ vegan friendly! Greek do have a lot of cuisine with only vegetables! My girlfriend and I went to this restaurant because the reviews were amazing, and the place looked nice and full of people. We asked if we could sit outside, so the waitress put us on a waitlist and then chaotically walked away. After five minutes, she told us we could sit outside. I ordered a chicken pita, and my girlfriend ordered a veggie pita. She specifically asked for no onions, and the waitress said that was possible. However, when we got our food, there were onions in the veggie pita. That wouldn’t have been such a big deal if the pitas actually tasted good, but there was absolutely no seasoning. The fries were more seasoned than the main dish itself. The pita was slightly burned, and all I could taste was the dressing—not the other ingredients. The whole meal felt more like a starter than a main dish, and for nearly 15 euros it was super disappointing. It felt like a bad imitation of amazing Greek cuisine—or maybe Dutch people just don’t have much of a sense of taste. We left disappointed,frustrated and still hungry. Dont go!

Meats were not cooked enough (inside). Service was great but the question "would you like to add a tip" is not appreciated because we think they must be earned and genuinely given. Either way and, because we love the Greeks, we left 10 eur. Please cook the meat well for future customers. You have a great potential in this city where there's no Greek restaurants almost. Went on a Wed evening with reservations and luckily we did because it was packed!!! We had the Chicken and Lamb Gyros, Zucchini pancake, and a Kebab-like chicken dish I forgot the name of. Every thing was so very delicious our plates were sparkling clean by the end of the night.

I loved the place😍 small and cosy with white airy colors, they had a huge map which was inspiring us for picking the next travel spot… and the food! Tasted like a greek grandma made it for us❤️ I was not expecting that, super delicious and authentic! As we were eating our dishes, they had so many takeout orders which inspired us to also order for our dinner later! And their gyros was also amazing 🙌🏻 lovely staff and reasonable prices 👍🏻

The food quality was good, and I appreciate the effort put into the dishes. However, the pricing felt disproportionately high, even by Amsterdam standards. While I understand every business sets its own price point, the basic layout and overall experience didn’t quite justify the cost. It’s worth visiting if you’re curious, but just be prepared for prices that don’t exactly match the simplicity of the setting.

Some of the best food I’ve had in Amsterdam recently. The owner is super friendly, and you really feel the Greek hospitality. I’ll definitely be back to try more because everything we had was incredible. The shrimp saganaki had loads of umami, the right amount of heat, and a hint of smokiness. The tarama was so fresh and tasty I had to buy extra to take home. The slow-cooked lamb was perfectly seasoned and tender. Flavors were spot on, I wanted to keep eating even after I was full. Great Greek (and Macedonian) wine selection, and the whites we had were lovely. The staff were also really helpful finding options for my friend with celiac and a lemon allergy.

Great food, however the service felt a bit rushed, did not finished the starters, and the mains came.Instead of closing 23h, at 22h the tables and chairs were lifted up for cleaning and felt obligated to leave kinda. But the food was really delicious, great atmosphere.

Visitamos este restaurante con mis colegas - 12 personas en total. La factura por persona era de unos 50 - 55 euros. Pero pedimos mucha comida, muchos bocadillos y vino. Si quieres, puedes reducir el pedido - las porciones son bastante grandes. El cordero marinado perfecto (una porción para dos). Moussaka y pulpo también eran excelentes. También disfrutamos de Ouzo. Nos gustó este lugar. Buena suerte al dueño del restaurante y al personal.

Super tasty food, affordable and hospitable! We walked in and it was full of Greeks (kind of a good omen). Shared two starters and two main courses, all four great. It is also nice that attention has been paid to the wine list, which only contains Greek wines. All in all, highly recommended for a date night or dinner with a group of friends! In terms of decoration it is cozy but could be better, but in itself no reason not to go.
