Mitsos Greek Traiterie in Frederik Hendrikbuurt

Delicious Greek! We picked up food here and chose all kinds of things to try. We had a great meal there at home. The gigantes (beans) were very tasty, the vegetarian meatballs also great. We also had some puff pastry with feta, which was unfortunately a bit dry. Very friendly gentleman at the cash register who patiently explained everything to us. They also have gyros sandwiches (also vegetarian) and I would like to try those soon! You can also eat here (limited) on site. I think there are two or three tables. In terms of atmosphere, however, it is more takeaway than restaurant.

This greek Restaurant definetely has some of the best food in the city. The owners are lovely people and you can tell the food has been prepared with love. I especially loved the bell pepper with rice filling. They have something for everyone with many vegeterian or gluten free options. The baklava is the best I ever had.

Food is delectable, lots of options including vegetarian dishes, a real taste of Greece. The staff super friendly, and prices fair so we had a great experience. We d happily be back soon!

The prices are very reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality you get. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a tasty Greek cuisine in Amsterdam. The restaurant is a historical journey, starting with a genuine welcome from the restaurant staff and passing through an artistic, colorful and cultural journey with home-made dishes made with love! We tried most of the restaurant's dishes and they were rich in flavors and delicious. The special white sauce was a small island in the middle of our beautiful trip!

The food was amazing, the lamb was outstanding, and the service even better. Super recommended.

best. place. in. Amsterdam! i can't emphasize enough to be honest. My friend and I are coming 2-4 times a month to have dinner together, the prices are extremely low in comparison to the high quality, high flavour, and portions that they give you. you can even learn some Greek words on the napkins! when you come in, it's like you're out of Amsterdam, for a moment, especially if you're from the balkans/southern Europe, you feel like you're back home or to your grandma's place due to how warm and comfortable it feels there. I've been bashing all my friends to come with me or to simply give it a try, thankfully they all listened and all agreed to say that it is, truly, a magical place to be, followed with a "God damn bro, the food tastes good!" some of them, who are locals, even discovered that tomatoes have a taste since all they buy are locally grown tomatoes, which let's be honest are just full of water. If you're in Amsterdam and love Greek food, you have to try Mitsos Greek Traiterie! The sousoukakia is amazing, flavorful and perfectly cooked. Pair it with their fresh Greek salad and creamy tzatziki for a delicious meal. The staff are super nice, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Definitely one of my favorite spots for a casual and tasty Greek meal!

I have tried salmon. Im sure, best salmon in the town! Strongly recommended.

Ate a delicious gyroscope sandwich, accompanied by Greek salad and tzatziki. The rice dessert was also delicious. It was all nice and fresh. Definitely come back.

I was quite disappointed with the food, the only thing i found tasty is the tzatziki and the pita bread. I ordered a pork gyro, ntolmadakia tzatziki and a greek salad. The gyro is in no way traditionally prepared, while the pita was very nice, all of the other ingredients left me disappointed... worst of all there were no fries in the gyro and the pork was stale (???) how is this not mentioned in any of the reviews? the ntolmadakia had way too much vinegar, as did the salad (which also had no olive oil and PEPPER-JACK OLIVES???? probably from a jar or can bought from ah) I am sure this restaurant is either not greek owned, or the people working there have lost touch or passion for cooking. I hope the mageirefta are in better shape because the almost 5 star reviews are in no way justified. I had high hopes, believing i would be sent back home for a bit, but just ended up having a less than mediocre lunch. Αποφεύγετε για δικό σας καλό!!!! Edit: After I posted this review, which I admit is quite negative, The shop has the audacity to reply by accusing me of being insincere. I am born and raised in Greece, I know what Greek food tastes like and I know what bad Greek food tastes like. I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food and now I am even more disappointed with the attitude of the shop. I can assure you I have no reason to leave a negative review other than my negative experience! And the fact that you assume the people who are displeased with your service are insincere shows how these 5 star reviews have inflated your ego way out of proportion. I stand by my review, maybe in the future I may give it another shot but my expectations are very low.

Not my first time and always tasty !

I had dinner here with my best friend, she was really looking forward to Greek today so we went to the place with the highest reviews in Amsterdam Center, and it was so delicious! I had a salmon dish with a side dish of vegetables and pasta and my girlfriend had the same but with minced meat. We both enjoyed it immensely. The feta cheese here is also really phenomenal, highly recommended!!!!

I recently discovered this place, and as a Greek living in Amsterdam, I found it quite nostalgic. The music and food are authentically Greek, and the service is lovely, which I absolutely enjoyed!

The food here is absolutely the best you'll find. We've been back from Amsterdam for over a month, and we are still talking about how good the food was at Mitsos. It was all very reasonably priced, too. I'd recommend ordering a bunch of different dishes for your table to eat tapas style. Five stars!

Visiting Mitsos Restaurant always takes me back to my hometown in Greece. The ambiance, with its beautiful blue and white decor, perfectly captures the essence of Greek culture. The food is simply amazing; I never miss a chance to enjoy their delicious pita gyros whenever I’m in the city center. The owners are incredibly hospitable and warm, making every visit a delightful experience. Highly recommend!

Favorite! Oa. delicious pitas for a reasonable price. They have a few tables where you can sit comfortably. Staff also very friendly. Too bad they're only open until 8pm :)

Delicious gyros and many other Greek delicacies.

This review is purely about home delivery. In this way, entrepreneurs become the victims of their very poorly organized scoober service (delivery service that entrepreneurs can use). I waited 2 hours for my food and in the end I only received the advice to cancel it from the chat at home. How will entrepreneurs be able to generate turnover in this way? Very poor home delivery service. Unfortunately Mitsos cannot do anything about this.

This place feels like eating at a greek grandmother's home. Very cozy, not much space though. The food is one of the best greek food I've ever eaten.

I came here to get a pita and some potatoes. I had the veggie pita which was delicious but very small. I personally would have appreciated more toppings. Unfortunately they don’t serve fries, but oven baked potatoes instead. These were unfortunately not my taste. The service was very friendly though.

This is our second time back this week and we can’t wait to come back again. We have dined in and also had takeaway and both times have been amazing. Fresh food, the staff are super nice and so much variety.

A small and sincere restaurant operated by a family. Even though the owners are not originally Cretian, they operate this cute place with the same passion and the recipes since the beginning, so you can enjoy the most famous Greek tastes in their original form. In addition to gyros or souvlaki, mousakka is a must-taste. Usually people prefer take-away but if you sit there and eat, you can expect some favours (coffee, small dessert etc.) from the chef ;)

Once I walked in and immediately fell in love. What a great place! Delicious food, friendly people and at least not one of those concept tents that you stumble across in the center. And where can you eat Greek food during the day? Mitsos is a top spot.

Lucky we entered here because we found great food and lovely staff. We ordered little portions of various foods, and everything was delicious including the chicken gyros! Two surprise dishes: gigantes fennel salad and the kadaifi (crispy, not too sweet with flavourful walnut). Greece, I love you.
