I think it's one of the best gyro places around Amsterdam. The portions are incredibly large, so much so that we had to order half of it to go. It was incredibly delicious and well-presented, and I highly recommend it.

Very small Greek snack bar. The house-style gyro with tzatziki sauce was absolutely delicious. I would just order the plate next time instead of the pita, as it was a bit awkward to eat. The price/performance ratio is good for what you get. Unfortunately, the seating is a bit cramped.

Good food served by very nice staff in a slightly crampt environment. My whole family enjoyed the meal, although I personally found it a little dry and expensive for what's on offer. Could be better.

Last time coming or ordering from here. I was a very happy customer in the past 3 years since I moved to Amsterdam. In the few times I came to eat inside (instead of delivery), I was treated well by the staff and the food was always great. Unfortunately, my last visit was very negative: different ingredients were used (regular tomato instead to cherry tomato and cucumber which was never used in the Freaky Greek) but the worst was how unpollite and rude one of the owners was with me and my wife. While trying to figure a misunderstanding in my receipt with the lady who picked my order, this man jumps into the discussion and started to argue with me, the customer. He was very arrogant with agreesive tone and body language. Completely cluessless about customer experience. At first I thought he was trying to BS me saying that he knew better because he was the owner. But you know what? An employee would never do such rookie mistake with a customer. He must be indeed the owner and do as he wishes without consequences. This man spoke to me as I was doing some kind favor by spending on his business. It's a real shame because I was a big fan of the Freaky Greek with the tsatsiki on the side which has been ordered ever since. I regret bringing family and friends to this place. There will be no next time.

Amazing gyros with generous amount of tzatziki

The best vegetarian wrap I've had in my life. I think about The Hot Greek every day. I visited Amsterdam in 2022 and ate here at least 4 times. I went back in 2023 and made sure my accomodations were close to this place.

The person taking the order was very rude, not service minded at all even the person I was with said the same. The food was enjoyable but for the service I won't be there again. I do think it was just this specific person so someone else might have a different experience and the food is okay.

Awesome place! Gyros was delicious and really big portion. And staff is also super friendly and nice. We had Chefs choice gyros and Double Trouble, both were TOP.

We ate there for lunch during our stay in Amsterdam. We had chosen this place to eat on the go for not too much money. In the end it cost us 50 euros for three (so not cheap especially since we were badly installed...a hassle with a stroller) and above all (contrary to all the other reviews) we did not like it at all, especially the vegetarian pita: there were pieces of pseudo vegetarian chicken...I don't know what it was but it was just "inedible" it looked like pieces of plastic. My daughter and I sorted everything out...in short, it stayed on our stomachs.

I was there with my wife and our dog. A window seat overlooking the street was perfect for enjoying their extremely delicious menu. The meat was very juicy and not dry like some others. Delicious and special sauces. I had the Double Trouble and loved it.

Ideal for a quick meal while exploring the city. You can choose from excellent pitas that can be customized with your choice of toppings. I recommend the spicy feta for those who love spicy food. Friendly and helpful staff, quick service. They only accept card payments.

We got a Classic Pita and The Hot Greek Pita (both pork). Both well filled (a little bit too well filled), well cooked and well seasoned. The Hot Greek had a bit too much sauce that dampened the pita a little bit but nothing too dramatic.

I really enjoy eating here! The pita gyros is delicious and, for me, the tzatziki sauce is the best — fresh and perfectly balanced. I like that you can choose between a plate or a pita, depending on how hungry you are. Plus, the vegetarian option is really good too — the seasoning is amazing. Definitely worth it!

My wife loves this place and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed it. Easily my favorite Greek food restaurant. Employees are friendly and helpful, your order can be customized, and the food is both good and plentiful.

Unfortunately I don't have any photos to show you of the pitaghiros... but I assure you it was really good! The menu offers a wide variety of ingredients to choose from, and the pitta dough is particularly tasty, soft and well made. Maybe slightly smaller than others I've tried, but still satisfactory. The service was quick and the staff very kind and helpful. The night we were there they didn't have beers, only non-alcoholic Ginger beer and other drinks (Coke, Fanta etc.). With a drink + a pita you spend around €15-20, in line with the prices of the city

YUM! We stopped in for a quick bite and it was just what we needed to refuel after a long day of walking. The vegetarian chicken is out of this world good! (And I’m not even vegetarian!) will definitely be back.

I like Greek food. However, it wasn't quite great. Meat was already lukewarm and sandwich a bit soggy due to some water or something. I expected better, especially considering the unprecedentedly high price for a gyro sandwich. Normal is 4 to 6 euros. (7 or 8 euros is a bit expensive, that is of course possible, it is Amsterdam, 9 or 10 euros is really very expensive and if the quality were really top, but unfortunately not). Edit: Oh wait, now a few years later it is even 13 euros for a sandwich, which is outrageously expensive. Next time we'll go to Zandvoort, Amstelveen, Leiden or to Athens for a Gyros sandwich! Owner probably knows the places I will be going to. ;) I'll probably come back after a year or so to see if things have gotten better. I'll give it a second chance.

The pita’s were SO good, this was such a great meal! Super quick to get our food and the service was really friendly. We got the Greeky Freaky and Chef’s Favorite, they give you a ton of meat and fillings! Would absolutely go again.

The food here is really delicious. I got the double meat, and it was very good. The sausage was a unique twist to Greek food I am not used to. I ended up eating it by itself first and then going back to the pita wrap. The Mrs. Greek had a great mix of vegetables, meat and feta and was recommended by the cashier as his personal favorite.

I tried Greek cuisine for the first time, the pita was spectacular, very nice premises, as well as very good and fast service. THANKS

On King's Day I got 4 chicken wraps here with 3 friends, it was very tasty, but all three of my friends had to throw up a few times 10 minutes afterwards. This is almost certainly due to the chicken, because they didn't eat anything else. Maybe next time pay extra attention to the temperature at which the chicken is stored and prepared. Hopefully this will be of some use to you!

The pita was dry and not properly filled, which was making it difficult to eat the pita. Tzatziki was good but the quality of meat was poor.

Really tasty gyros. You choose your meat from pork or beef or veggie chicken and then choose your toppings. You can have either in a pita wrap or a dish. Very tasty, reasonably priced and filling. There are a handful of tables to sit in, or you can take out. Nice friendly staff.

I ordered (on Uber Eats) a hot Greek dish with additional toppings of tzatziki, olives and grilled onions. All those additional toppings were there but I was missing all the regular toppings of the hot Greek dish, namely: tomatoes, cucumbers, spicy feta and jalapeños 😒☹️😡 So I paid 30eur for for half of the ingredients. And that was after waiting 50min for the delivery because it took them about 3 times longer than advertised to prepare it. Shame on you guys. I used to really like ordering from this place but probably won't do it again.

Don’t go here if you are American— or if you want to be treated as a human being . I live 400 m away from this place and have been coming here ever since they opened. I lived here long before they opened. For many years. I’ve always ordered the chef’s favorite. And I always have substituted the spicy feta for the normal feta. Even on Uber eats I’ve done it with a comment. Or I walked down and order it and bring it home, or my girlfriend goes (She likes the spicy Greek plate). I have ordered food there at least 100 times. Today they wanted to charge me an extra €1.50 for spicy feta even though I wasn’t getting anything extra. I simply wanted to replace one thing with another. Annoying, but fine I definitely don’t care about the 1.50 and I don’t really mind paying the extra money to get what I want. But the way the guy talk to me was ridiculous and horrible. He was super rude and disrespectful. I was just a customer asking why they had changed this process in a nice way. He was not nice. Fine I can go somewhere else. So I said I wanted my money back. He made me sit while he called the manager. Again - fine. He had to call the manager to refund me €21. But then he started making fun of Americans as I walked out. I was still in there while he was talking about how Americans are in front of everyone else in there I stopped, and I turned around and began speaking Dutch — I was about to be rude but I know it’s just not worth it. So I stopped to midsentence and walked out I’m American, yeah. Maar ik ben ook een Nederlander — one who did not deserve to be treated that way, or talked about that way in front of those people, and I live just around the corner when I walked past, I will be reminded to post another review about how bad this place is. Whoever the manager is is responsible. You hire these people they treat people this way. IT IS YOUR FAULT. I’ve never been treated so crappy by anybody in a restaurant in my entire life. Shame on you, Meat and Greek.

This is a great spot to drop by if you are in Amsterdam and you are hungry! The staff is very nice the food is great the atmosphere is chill and relaxing and very good prices as well. I would deff recommend this and return if I have the chance. The place can get busy but definitely worth waiting to seat at the table and have the food hot then and there.

Such a nice place! Me and my friend bought a few gyros to take away. The Chef’s special and the other one I customized. They tasted amazing - full of flavor and the meat was flavorful. We will definitely come back. Shout out to the girl from Lithuania for the best service and good recommendations!
