Went there last Saturday for dinner. Super friendly staff, very hospitable. Had a delicious meal and it was very flavorful! A small tip for the staff who have been working there longer, if I remember correctly—and I don't mean the younger girls! Observe the guests a bit more to see if they want to order something, because sometimes I looked around to order a drink but it wasn't seen☺️ I do understand it when it's busy, though, but I thought I'd mention it. Otherwise, it was great! Had a super nice experience and the younger girls working there were very helpful and sweet. I would definitely come here again; had a fun evening😊

An incredible place, vibrant, authentic, and most importantly, with soul. The staff is amazing; we felt like they were all related. I've never been to Greece, but after this restaurant, I definitely will. Even if the food in this place wasn't tasty, I'd still give it a 5, but damn, the food was incredible. We used to live across from the square where this restaurant is located, and 35 years later we went back to eat here. I still remember that back then they really used to throw plates on the floor there, a tradition :-) Anyway, we had a delicious meal, great menu selection, and tasty desserts! Well, we ate at a Greek restaurant for the first time, at the invitation of Rob and Agnes for a birthday on April 18, 2026. We were standing outside waiting for other people when a waitress came to ask if we wanted to come inside, which we did, as the other people were already there. Once inside, we were welcomed as if we were family, so warmly. After that, we were served a drink and baguette with herb butter was placed on the table without us having ordered it. Next, someone started playing and singing live Greek music; the atmosphere was immediately 5-star, just like the service. The food was delicious and plentiful, more than enough for a hearty eater. Afterwards, we had dessert: ice cream with unfortunately no real whipped cream, which I consider a point for improvement, but still worth 5 stars. The music was upbeat and the Greek dancing was great fun to watch; we had a fantastic evening. The staff was very friendly.

The mixed grill here is fantastic: juicy lamb chops, well-seasoned bifteki, and tender chicken. Everything arrived hot and fresh. The Greek salad was simple but incredibly flavorful, with real feta. You get a lot of value for your money here.

It was a truly delicious Greek restaurant. The dishes were flavorful and well-prepared, using fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff was friendly. The souvlaki and tzatziki were especially popular. No exaggeration, just a great place to enjoy delicious Greek food!

The service was good, however the portion sizes and overall taste were unfortunately below the standards of similar restaurants in Amsterdam. There were several disappointing aspects to the food. The Greek salad was served with an excessive amount of lettuce, the fried calamari was made with very small baby squid, which made it feel like eating mostly fried flour, and the meze portion was extremely small—about the size of three scoops of ice cream. The pork souvlaki lacked proper marinade and was poorly grilled. Additionally, in a city where tap water is drinkable, charging €7 for water alongside alcoholic drinks felt unreasonable.

Everything is delicious, and it is always very friendly and cozy at Plato.

I've eaten here three times now as part of a group. I personally wouldn't choose this restaurant. The staff is welcoming and courteous. To play it safe, I chose the mousaka. What a disappointment. The potato slices were like "potato mush" because they'd been soaking in water for too long. To my surprise, they even came with a portion of fries. The Albert Heijn fresh meal, the mousaka, wins over this one because the authenticity is clearly evident.

The food was very, very tasty. We went to the restaurant with our dog. We were immediately given a water bath, and they even asked us if the dog was okay. The staff was very, very friendly. The next day, we made takeaway food and ate it at the campsite. The food is worth the money.

The only thing we were served that was somewhat OK was the Tzatziki—probably bought ready-made. The rest of the food was horrible, bland, and far from Greek. For example, the Spanakopita was made with croissant dough instead of filo sheets and had no spinach inside; the "Feta" in the salad was more like cottage cheese than anything closer to feta; the souvlakis were dry... and so on. They charged us over 7 euros for a water bottle, and the staff behaved weirdly. They decided at some point to move our table while we were already seated and served 😅 it was so ridiculous that it was funny. I bet you won't like this place if you know Greek food and/ or come from anywhere in the Balkans.

Yesterday we ate here for the first time. Coincidentally we ended up here. And luckily they had exactly 1 spot left. We are not from the area at all! But what a cozy place with nice people and what a delicious meal we had!!! Really recommended if you want to eat delicious Greek food! If we are in the area again, we will definitely come back!

Nationally known restaurant with very hospitable owner. Here you will enjoy the varied Greek dishes of excellent quality in a matching interior. There is regular live music and performances in Greek style. Check the website for the schedule. In summer there is a terrace. Reservations are recommended, especially because of the number of tables available. This is the nicest Greek restaurant in the Netherlands.

Last Sunday we came specially from Utrecht to Restaurant Plato in Amsterdam for the second time, and it was once again a fantastic experience! Upon entering we were warmly and hospitably received by the friendly staff. The service was top notch, with attention to details and a warm atmosphere. The food was delicious and authentically Greek! The grilled dishes were well seasoned and juicy, and the portions were generous. The mezze dish and the grilled salmon were especially recommended. The fries were nice and crispy and well seasoned. Although there was no live music this evening, there was still some sirtaki dancing due to a birthday, which created a great Greek atmosphere. Cozy restaurant with friendly staff, but the gyros were very mediocre. It was more like shawarma. In addition, we were not served tzaziki, but a kind of Remia garlic sauce. The salad consisted of carrot, lettuce and a sour sauce. You shouldn't go here for the food. For fun, yes.
