I was at Dionysos celebrating a birthday. The food was fantastic and varied. There was something for everyone, including vegetarians. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed and it was right in the city center.

Top authentic Greek food, a very welcoming and lovely team and atmosphere. A great spot for both winter evenings with the cozy interior, and for summer days with a lovely terrace.

Veryy nice traditional Greek restaurant, owner very friendly you can see he cares. I have been looking for authentic Greek food for a while this is the first place that i liked and actually reminded me of greece 😍

Very nice place with delicious calamari

Delicious authentic Greek food in a casual atmosphere and friendly service. We ate a combination of various dishes for 2 people and that was more than enough, even without a starter. A clear explanation of which dishes were served with and without meat.

I was expected (from 4,5 stars in Google) that I will get some decent Greek dishes. What I got , was far from any good. I ordered grilled octopus which was unfresh and gummy. Eggplant dip was sloppy and not really tasty. Only lamb was okish but it was served first and than taken back to the kitchen as waiter considered it not hot enough. I have been to Greece and also have eaten in many Greek restaurants but this one-I don"t think that Dionysos,the god, would recommend.

Souvlaki was very under-seasoned and bland. Mousaka was decent. In short; not very tasty, though very expensive for small portions. Food is okay but I wouldn’t recommend.

Took the meat plate, it’s was good in general, some meat were dry. The highlight is the gyro and tzatziki.

I waited half an hour to be given a menu and waited ANOTHER hour and half to be served. Another table that came after us was served before us. The staff were drinking inside. The staff later came over to apologize saying there had been something. Go if you can risk being treated lesser than the other regulars and watch everyone happily eat around you while you wait on an empty stomach Food was mid.

Dionysos is at the top of the list for restaurants in the intercity. Nicos is a fantastic owner and person.

Δεν υπάρχουν λόγια να περιγράψω το πόσο ωραίο μαγαζί είναι το Διονυσος. Προσωπικό εξυπηρετικό και φιλικό. Το φαγητό Άψογο. ΟΤΑΝ μας ξαναφέρει ο δρόμος Άμστερνταμ , η πρώτη στάση θα είναι εδώ. Ευχαριστούμε πολύ

We hebben hier heerlijk authentiek Grieks gegeten voor een zeer schappelijke prijs. Ook de bediening (door de eigenaar) was heel vriendelijk. We zullen hier zeker nog eens terugkomen.

Krappe zitplaatsen en aardig op de tocht door de thuisbezorgs. Eten oké maar niet bijzonder. Voor 20e url plus gerechten had ik meer gehoopt . Wel erg aardige griekse serveerder

The food was delicious! Off the beaten track Greek restaurant with amazing food and great quality produce. Will definitely come back again and recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Greek food around here! Service was great. Will be coming back soon and really recommend!

Delicious food, cozy atmosphere

Since 1992 is Dionysos Taverna my best Greek restaurant in Amsterdam. Owner Nikos is like a friend welcoming you in his house, and so you do feel here: at home. Yesterday evening we had just a few mezédes, starting with a sample of the delicious orektiká, the cold starters, served with hot pita bread. From above, clockwise: melitzána saláta, the aubergine dip smoked, earthy; taramá, salty fishroe dip; tzatziki, the iconic yougurt and cucumber dip with just a touch of garlic, fresh, and the tirosaláta, a dip of feta cheese with some spicy red pepper to tintle your taste buds. Then we had the féta saganáki, oven baked cheese served flambé at your table, the sardeles tiganites, light fried fresh sardines, and the delicious (so delicious I forgot to take a picture!) spanakópitas, crispy parcels filled with feta and spinach. No place left for a dessert. I (we) love this place, its pace, the food, everything

Het restaurant heeft in de ruim 30 jaar van zijn bestaan zijn kwaliteit wel bewezen: veel vaste klanten.(ik kom er ook al 30 jaar) Uitstekende en snelle service, goede producten en alles vers. Laat de chef bepalen wat u eet en neem "mezes" , allemaal (eigenlijk) voorgerechtjes. Van de tarama salata tot de inktvis, de keftedakia en sardeles, allemaal even heerlijk en fijn van smaak. GA ER VOOR ---- Nikos (Griek uit Thessaloniki) en zijn staf zullen u graag ontvangen. Ff bellen om teleurstelling te voorkomen.

Delicious food here. The food is very tasty and authentic, the portions are not too big and not too small and the price is very good for the food. What is also nice is that the staff does not constantly ask if you want something to drink or something like that. They let you enjoy the food and if you need anything, you can ask. We will definitely come back here several times!

This was the first time we came to this Greek tavern, and I’ve been wanting to try it for a long time. I liked the food, close to Greek. I didn’t like the service, maybe the waiter was just not in the mood?! Or was it also real Greek service 😃. Be sure to try it and maybe you will be lucky with the waiter, it’s a shame that the service is so inattentive. Thank you very much to the cooks for your work ❤️👌🇬🇷

Meget lækker mad. Meget venlig og fleksibelt personale. Dametoilettet var i orden. Vi kommer helt sikkert igen om et par dage. Stedet kan anbefales. Priserne er også i orden.

Bij binnenkomst om 20.30 in een leeg restaurant mochten we met 2 personen NIET aan een ruimere 4 persoons tafel zitten. De 2 persoons tafel was vies met korstjes van de vorige gasten. Degene die ons bediende had een onverzorgd uiterlijk, smoezelige kleding aan en onverschillig. De kip-gyros leek op kip stoofvlees. Aan het eind 80 euro afrekenen voor 2 personen, niets van het huis, terwijl de andere 2 gasten, die WEL aan een 4 persoons tafel zaten, een drankje van het huis kregen!

Ristorante al di fuori dei percorsi turistici ma ne vale la pena perchè si mangia bene, si viente trattati bene e il personale è gentile. Abbiamo mangiato sia un buon pesce che dell'ottima carne, piatti unici con insalata mista,patatine e riso.

Super aardige bediening. Mixed grill was superlekker. Vlees was mals en smaakte heerlijk. Goed gegrild. Helemaal niet droog maar sappig . Griekse salade erbij en tzatiki met gebakken aardappelen

Greek restaurant, very good and tasty. Because it was Amsterdam, it didn't seem expensive at all. The waiters make good recommendations and are quite attentive.

Best Greek food in town, with an excellent atmosphere, an amazing staff and Greek folk music nights from time to time. Highly recommended!

Lekker eten informatie over allergenen zijn duidelijk op een kaart aangegeven. Vriendelijke bediening en een gezellige informele sfeer in het restaurant.

Vanavond heb ik hier heerlijk gegeten, Grieks eten zoals het hoort te zijn van goede kwaliteit. Verder een zeer aardige bediening waardoor het eten nog beter smaakte dan het al was. 🙏🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Everything was perfect, starting from the food to the service and the staff, strongly suggested if you want to eat traditional Greek and good wine. Will come back for sure

We waren hier met een uitje van werk. Een familielid van de eigenaar werkt bij ons, dus we werden ontvangen als familie. Heerlijk gegeten, genoten van de gezelligheid en hele fijne avond gehad. Er werd heel goed voor ons gezorgd. Leuke kleine taverne met authentiek Grieks eten. Aanrader!

Wat een fantastische eetgelegenheid! Mijn eerste keer Grieks in Nederland maar zeker niet de laatste keer. De bediening is mega vriendelijk en het eten is ver boven verwachting. Als je van feta houdt ben je in de 7e hemel. Een dikke aanrader in Amsterdam!

A nice cozy place in overtoom, frugal at first glance yet it gives you the feeling of being in Greece. We tried the meat menu and it was simply rich and delicious. The staff was very attentive and caring. The cost of a menu is more than fair considering the quality of the ingredients and the generous portions. I recommend it to anyone.

Wij komen al heel lang bij Dionysos. En Nikos is een hele goede gastheer. Het eten is echt Grieks en lekker vers. Gezellige sfeer.

Lovely staff but the food is just ok - the only exception is the baklava, which you can tell is made with love

Voor het eerst hier geweest en ook zeker lekker gegeten..de Gyros was mals en goed en ook voldoende qua portie en prijs...ook werden we vriendelijk bediend..bedankt & tot 'n volgende keer!

At my stay in Amsterdam last year in december I found this beautiful place. I am a fan of the greek kitchen. It was one of the best food experience Ive ever had. Nice food! I tried the Greek cuisine for the first time and it was a good change :) 1. Kotópoulo Saganáki: Highly recommended. It was a very herby, creamy chicken dish. 2. Saganaki with Feta: A bit on salty end. Fried feta cheese. 3. Calamari: Recommend if you like fish. 4. Galaktoboureko: Desert with vanilla icecream whipped cream. The custard was soft and mushy. Pork dishes weren't that good. ( as reported by my friends) The server was a very kind and helpful lady!

Comida griega muy regular. El tzaziki tenía mucho ajo, el suvlaki si soso y el gyros bastante seco. En cambio, los calamares fritos, muy ricos. La atención, excelente.

Dionysos, moet je gewoon naar toe. Heerlijk eten en het sfeertje is er super. Lekker klein restaurantje maar leuk aangekleed. Top gewoon
