Wat een ervaring Heerlijk gegeten en vriendelijk personeel , tijd voor een praatje en uitleg over de heerlijke gerechten. Een ware smaaksensatie . Komen zeker nog een keer terug !

Goed personeel, heel lekker eten, en die nieuwe chef mag er ook wel wezen. Echt genoten bij The Lemon Tree! Zeker een aanrader om eens heen te gaan als je in Deventer bent.

Alles klopt. Van het moment van aankomst tot vertrek. Personeel is gastvrij en authentiek. Geen alcohol? Geen probleem. Laat je verrassen door dit aan te geven. Want je krijgt bij ieder gerecht een feestje in een glas. Het maakt dat het dineren bij The Lemon Tree compleet feestje wordt.

Last April we went to The Lemon Tree for the first time, and what a great experience it was — definitely not the last time! A place where atmosphere, taste and service come together perfectly. Also all compliments to the staff: from the moment we entered we were warmly welcomed and the service was fantastic the entire evening. For those looking for an evening to remember, this is an absolute must. We will definitely be back!

Because we have been married for 38 years today, we made a reservation at this restaurant. The welcome was warm, we were neatly brought to the table. The service was very smooth and very friendly. There was a message on the table for us to congratulate us, we really appreciate this gesture. We chose 6 courses. Each dish was carefully presented very nicely and it tasted excellent. We recommend this restaurant to come and eat and experience super service. We will definitely come back someday. We thank all the employees of this restaurant for a perfect evening❤️

In april een bezoek gebracht aan The Lemon Tree in Deventer. We waren hier al een keer eerder geweest een paar jaar terug voor de chef's table, nu het 5 gangen menu 'gewoon' boven in het restaurant. We begonnen de avond met een glas van de Courtier rosé champagne. Door de toevoeging van rode wijn later in het proces gaf het de champagne een donkerdere kleur dan gebruikelijk voor een rosé maar daardoor ook fruitigere smaken. Een aanrader! Amuses zijn een krokant broodje met nep kaviaar met daarna een lookalike mini worstenbroodje als ode aan de Brabantse komaf van de chef, een classic steak tartare met bieten topping en witte asperges met gefermenteerde venkel en tomaat. Leuk idee om het te laten lijken of je kaviaar op tafel krijgt, het worstenbroodje in een leuke knipoog naar de komaf van de chef maar heeft natuurlijk niets met de Scandinavische keuken te maken (wel lekker). De bieten op steak tartare zijn heerlijk en de witte asperges zijn top, allebei lekker fris! Het eerste gerecht is forel met koolrabi, lekker fris en rustig om mee te beginnen. In combinatie met de Verdejo erg lekker, deze smaakt goed en is een klassieke stijl Verdejo uit Spanje. Vervolgens mijn favoriet van de avond; knolraap met macadamia. Op zichzelf is dit gerecht niet heel spannend totdat je de vinaigrette erbij proeft. Deze is gemaakt met wat japaleno en geeft het een goede pittige smaak. De wijn hierbij was ook perfect: een Vernaccia di San Gimignano. Niet alleen een van mijn favoriete plaatsen in Italië, ook een van de lekkerdere wijnen. Goed passend bij het frisse pittige karakter van de japaleno. De derde gang was een zeeduivel met calamaris en gefermenteerde peen. Dit gerecht was wat zwaarder in smaak wat een mooie opbouw gaf richting het hoofdgerecht. Combinatie wijn was een Chenin blanc uit Zuid-Afrika die gerijpt was op Frans eiken, lekker. Het hoofdgerecht werd kalfswang met witte asperge en een saus van zwarte knoflook. Goed bereid en een mooi hoogtepunt. Afsluitend als dessert kwam er fruitige vruchten met hazelnoot. Hier werd een moscato d'asti bij geserveerd, deze combinatie was helaas wat minder. Gelukkig maakte de friandises het met de koffie weer goed! Samengevat was het eten goed en lekker en passend bij de tijd van het jaar en de Scandinavische keuken (veel vis, frisse smaken en weinig kruiden). De inrichting en hele ambiance van het restaurant is erg mooi en ook passend met de vele afwerkingen van hout. Het is duidelijk dat hier naar hogere waarderingen wordt gezocht binnen o.a. Michelin. Op het niveau van service zijn er dan nog wel verbeterpunten te vinden. Het eten was erg lekker en zeker kijkend naar de prijs goed in verhouding. De sfeer is ook goed en de bediening is attend. Lettend op kleine mogelijke verbeter punten zou ik tussen de 4,5/5 en 4,7/5 waarderen. Dit kan niet op Tripadvisor dus voor mij 5/5!

Thoroughly enjoyed a 6-course dinner with oysters and champagne beforehand. You will be pampered here from start to finish. Everything is thought of. De verwachtingen werden niet ingelost. Een overgare vis visbereiding - lang geleden dat ik dat nog heb meegemaakt - en vervolgens 2 echt wel lekkere vleesbereidingen ( enerzijds Mechelse koekoek en anderzijds kalfsbereidingen) die helaas niet warm genoeg ( dwz lauw) geserveerd werden. Een enthousiaste bediening, je moet het maar doen om zoveel gasten met de glimlach blijven bedienen, dat wel… maar voor dit prijskaartje moet het beter ( lees : juiste gaarheid en lekker warm geserveerd), jammer, want we hadden er echt zin in

Dit restaurant was de laatste etappe op een vierdaagse culinaire trip door dit deel van Nederland. Helaas was het een beetje een anti-climax. Er heerst in dit etablissement een geforceerd hiep hiep hoera sfeertje wat echter niet kan worden waargemaakt op het bord. Wellicht komt dat door het teveel aan couverts en tekort aan personeel. Drie gerechten waren niet meer op temperatuur toen ze bij ons aankwamen, de heilbot was gewoon platgekookt. Fouten die op dit niveau uiteraard niet kunnen, zeker als je pretendeert sterrenwaardig te zijn. Het niveau van de gerechten was wisselend, 2 vleesgerechten waren lekker, het vegetarische gerecht beneden alle peil. Als ik er bijreken dat ons een oester op het einde werd aangerekend zonder dat dit was aangekondigd moet ik helaas een onvoldoende geven.

Prima gegeten bij The Lemon Tree. Stuk voor stuk heerlijke en verzorgde gerechten. Jammer alleen dat ze het nodig vonden om EUR 35,80 in rekening te brengen voor twee kleine glaasjes champagne als aperitief. Dat slaat echt nergens op. Reden om dit restaurant voortaan over te slaan…

Best dining experience in curacao. Many restaurants are great. This one exceptional. Service is too much, food amazing, wine paring is a must. Definitely worth the money and to revisit. Once you are inside the restaurant it’s on another level. Try it out!

Had dinner here on Christmas Day, what beautiful flavors and products they use! We sat at the chef's tables. It's nice to see that a team of young people can be so disciplined and yet you never feel stressed or rushed as a guest. Enjoyed everyone who pampered us... but especially Dirk!

Rarely do you come across a restaurant of the level of The Lemon Tree that has not yet been discovered by Michelin (not even a mention). During Christmas Eve we enjoyed a 7-course dinner here, which consisted of surprising dishes from start to finish. First a number of vegetarian and fish appetizers, followed by vegetarian and fish dishes. Right down to the duck and a delicious piece of meat. Dessert with 'Hanseatic herbs' and finish with coffee and friandises. A fantastic wine pairing during dinner. What stood out most was the service, who calmly explained each course and took the time to answer all the questions we had. Finally, a look at the kitchen. I will quickly book a table here, discover The Lemon Tree for the gentlemen and ladies of Michelin and turn it into a Deventer pilgrimage destination.

Reserved a table months ago to celebrate my 50th birthday. Upon entering, I was given the worst possible place, at the end of a long table where EVERYONE had to pass (or for the toilet, or all the service that served). Then also a chair on a loose floorboard that makes you wobble all evening. Another place was not possible and it was indicated that no place would be allocated based on the reservation date. Then at that moment the whole evening is ruined. The food is excellent and so are the accompanying wines. The other staff are also friendly. But this restaurant will NEVER AGAIN for us. You are not allowed to do this at this level Dealing with guests in my experience. Too bad about the anniversary.

Wij wilden samen mijn 50e verjaardag vieren en hadden maanden geleden geboekt en ons er op verheugd. Bij binnenkomst werden wij op de slechts mogelijke plek neergezet, einde grote tafel waar werkelijk iedereen langs moest en zitten op een stoel die wiebelde door losse vloerplank waar IEDEREEN langs moest. Gevraagd om een andere plek maar dat deden ze niet. Gaat niet op basis van reserveringsdatum. Wanneer je zo slecht start met een jubileumsdiner is de avond verpest. Ongelofelijk….. Het eten is overigens prima en alle extra’s die wij anders wel gedaan zouden hebben hebben we niet gedaan door dit voorval. Het overige personeel was vriendelijke en duidelijke uitleg van de gerechten en de bijpassende wijnen. Ondanks het goede eten komen wij hier NOOIT meer terug.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of dining at The Lemon Tree in Deventer for the fourth time, this time with family to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. We were truly pampered from start to finish! From the personal card upon arrival to the exceptional service at the table, every detail was perfect. The tableware, the glasses—everything was simply beautiful. The five-course dinner was an absolute delight, with each course a surprising and flavorful experience. Today, Michelin stars are being awarded again, and it’s unbelievable that The Lemon Tree wasn’t invited—such a missed opportunity by the Michelin committee. Then again, perhaps having a star would only bring unnecessary pressure. They should stay just as they are, because in our eyes, they are perfect. Dear Lemon Tree team, thank you so much for making our evening unforgettable! We will definitely be back!

That was a successful and delicious evening. From the friendly welcome, very good food and great service to the espresso, everything was very good and harmonious. The atmosphere is friendly and modern, but sometimes gets a little louder. The food could surprise with one or another ingredient and/or different temperatures. Use of goods appears to be of high quality. Sometimes we would have liked a little more of the main ingredient, but in the end we were full. The service is very attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The wine selection is good and our chosen wine has now found its way into our wine cellar 😋. Fine dining at a fair price. The digestif selection can be expanded. Highly recommended, we will definitely come back again.

A group of highly talented and professional young people have created this exceptional place, and it shines with joie de vivre! The waiters will tell you the method of preparation and ingredients of each dish, as they bring it to the table. This is helpful, because then you know that the beurre blanc sauce for the trout has been made with champagne, or that the foam which accompanies the lamb dish is from wild mushrooms. The sommelier says something interesting about each glass that is poured (I had the four-course dinner plus wine arrangement)--not only where it comes from (Italy, South Africa, France!) but if it is made in a special kind of vat. That is, the information given to diners is always interesting. The tables are made of beautiful, rich wood, and set very far apart from each other; it is comfortable to sit in the restaurant, not least because you hear the happy buzz of conversation hovering up near the ceiling. So professional, and so enthusiastic a staff--the kitchen downstairs as well! It is an inspired combination. It is worth going to Deventer for many reasons: grand architecture, lots of creative and individual small shops, quaint museum De Waag, the 'Dickens Kabinet' (with fabulous memorabilia and endless racks of costumes, stored for the yearly festival) and brilliant carillon concerts (for free!) from the Lebuinuskerk on Friday and Saturday afternoons. But I travel there primarily to dine at The Lemon Tree, and to taste what they are cooking this season?

The restaurant does not work with a menu, but offers a number of courses. (So ​​everyone eats the same). Fine for us. The courses were fun and diverse. We even thought the main course was a bit 'too normal' 😂. Little toilet space. After using the toilet I had to wait at a small sink for a gentleman who was washing his hands. Of course, there isn't much room to approach this differently, but it still felt a bit strange. When a new 'map' appears in due course, we will certainly come back.

Fantastic. Delicious food. We had a 6 course dinner with matching wine arrangement. What an experience. Respect for Jelle, who spoke to us in a very friendly and comprehensive manner, also applies to the rest of the staff. As far as I'm concerned, it's definitely worth repeating. Perhaps an area for improvement in the toilet is to use regular towels instead of paper ones, which quickly becomes a mess 😌

had a very good experience at the Lemon tree, will summarize it briefly and post some photos of the dishes. Opted for 6 courses including pairing wine, and the wine was really pairing, my compliments, in my opinion it was better than Joan, Lazuli or Lansink. Unfortunately the menu is missing, but the cocktail you start with, the salmon and slow-cooked trout, tasted incredibly good and refined and, together with the fantastic dessert, stood out. Diamond tenderloin was ok, not special. Only the sauce of the vegetarian dish was very tasty, the rest was flat in terms of taste. All in all, definitely recommended and we will probably come there more often, perhaps the chef table because it was a bit "noisy" upstairs. We sat at a 5 meter long table with some other couples and that was fine, the distance was more than sufficient but it was just a bit noisy in general. Toilets also a bit limited, you just had to wait for your turn, could use an update/expansion. Then the service, nothing but a big compliment, it was really excellent. We made a reservation for five people at the 'Chefs Table' some time in advance. After reading reviews that this felt 'secluded' to many people, we decided to have our dinner in the restaurant. This rebooking was quite easy to achieve, the staff was very accommodating and saw no problem with this. When making a reservation, everyone must take into account €25 reservation costs per person, which will ultimately be deducted from the final bill. Once you enter the front door at The Lemon Tree, a very fresh and warm Scandinavian interior awaits you, it felt very nice to us. After waiting a while at the entrance, we were kindly welcomed by our host Jelle, who guided us to the table. We were placed in the middle of the restaurant at a long table where several couples can sit, the distance between the couples is not disturbing and in my opinion good. After Jelle served us the starters and announced the menu choices, we opted for a 6-course dinner, which consisted of two fish dishes, two meat dishes, one vegetarian dish and a dessert. In my opinion a downside, there is no menu card in which the different dishes are highlighted, at least not known to us. For us, the dishes were very tasty and there was a lot of variety in the different dishes. Almost every dish was based on Scandinavian cuisine with influence from local ingredients, it was a pleasure for us to enjoy the different courses. Attached are photos of the dishes taken by third parties from our party, unfortunately we did not take any photos of those individual dishes ourselves. Jelle knows how to provide guests with the information related to the different wines served in a correct and fun way, provided you choose the 'wine pairing'. Jelle has a good sense of which guests he has in front of him, it feels confidential and nice. Compliments for the efforts and correct way of explaining Jelle. A downside for us, given the limited space that the Lemon Tree has, there is unfortunately only one toilet for the men and one toilet for the ladies. Point of criticism from us, try to replace the 'paper' towels with something decent, these towels look a bit discarded, a decent towel can make a lot of difference to the experience of visiting the toilet. In short, we were very positively surprised. We will definitely come back, next time perhaps for the Chefs Table. Thank you The Lemon Tree for this experience!

The food was delicious, dishes were beautifully presented and what we received was explained in a nice and knowledgeable manner. Friendly service, sufficient attention for the guest. Small minus point: we received bubbles immediately upon arrival, but neither of us drink alcohol, when we said so it was no problem, we could get something else but bubbles had already been poured... We were also not given the option to choose how many courses, we were told "we are serving 6 courses today...", after consultation we were allowed to choose 4 courses, which was nicely resolved. We thought the price for 4 courses extended with cash without alcohol was a bit on the high side, but overall it was a nice experience.

Very good experience. Despite (or perhaps because of) the low average age of both the staff and the kitchen, an extremely good experience. Our host, Duncan, understands the profession very well, just the right balance between relaxed and professional. The food was phenomenal, the 6 course menu provided us with a work of art time and time again that not only looked beautiful, but also tasted very good. And of course accompanied by delicious glasses of wine, selected by the team. The restaurant itself, minimalist, but with the feeling of a living room without sacrificing the right level of "chic". All in all, the pearl of Deventer.

Delicious, beautifully presented dishes. Great service. How do you get so many young, fun, skilled people into ministry? Well done! Chef's table is recommended, although the high stools are not very comfortable. The friandises are also very tasty. This is our third time as guests and the standard is always high. Another point of attention are the sanitary facilities. 1 ladies' and men's toilet is not enough. There used to be textile towels that have now been replaced by paper. 1 sink is also not enough. The reception at the front of the dining room is disruptive. Another entrance (in the private area?) including a cloakroom and extension of the toilet unit would make the good restaurant excel.

Not the desired seat upon arrival even though this was discussed in advance. Then we were given another place that was fine. As compensation we would get a drink on the house. However, it was still on the bill later. Nice attractive tent. The rest of the service was fine. I expected more from the food. I don't eat fish, but I expected more from the food, not surprising. Unfortunately it does not meet the price level.

Duncan was our host for the evening. He was spontaneous and seemed pleasant and knew how to explain everything about the wines and dishes, just like the other staff who attended the table. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant, welcoming and not difficult. Delicious food and special dishes. The wine pairing paired perfectly with the food. To be repeated!

We enjoyed 7 very well balanced dishes with matching wines. The service was top notch, with committed staff, the atmosphere was accessible. A pearl. More than worth the 15/20 points on Gault&Millau!

Cozy atmosphere, nice location, friendly and helpful staff, interesting and very tasty food. Had a fantastic evening here with my girlfriend. However, coffee after dinner was of mediocre quality.

They will cook delicious food there for you. When you enter you can choose how many courses you want to eat and you will be asked about your diet or other special dietary requirements, for example allergies. This restaurant deserves a Michelin star. Successful flavor combinations, well-matched wines and informal yet very correct service. It's great how such a young team can operate like a well-oiled machine.
