Best dining experience in curacao. Many restaurants are great. This one exceptional. Service is too much, food amazing, wine paring is a must. Definitely worth the money and to revisit. Once you are inside the restaurant it’s on another level. Try it out!

Had dinner here on Christmas Day, what beautiful flavors and products they use! We sat at the chef's tables. It's nice to see that a team of young people can be so disciplined and yet you never feel stressed or rushed as a guest. Enjoyed everyone who pampered us... but especially Dirk!

Rarely do you come across a restaurant of the level of The Lemon Tree that has not yet been discovered by Michelin (not even a mention). During Christmas Eve we enjoyed a 7-course dinner here, which consisted of surprising dishes from start to finish. First a number of vegetarian and fish appetizers, followed by vegetarian and fish dishes. Right down to the duck and a delicious piece of meat. Dessert with 'Hanseatic herbs' and finish with coffee and friandises. A fantastic wine pairing during dinner. What stood out most was the service, who calmly explained each course and took the time to answer all the questions we had. Finally, a look at the kitchen. I will quickly book a table here, discover The Lemon Tree for the gentlemen and ladies of Michelin and turn it into a Deventer pilgrimage destination.

Delicious food but very noisy. We could hardly understand each other (there were 6 people) and unfortunately we could not follow the explanation of the service. Super shame for such a restaurant. Not expected.

Reserved a table months ago to celebrate my 50th birthday. Upon entering, I was given the worst possible place, at the end of a long table where EVERYONE had to pass (or for the toilet, or all the service that served). Then also a chair on a loose floorboard that makes you wobble all evening. Another place was not possible and it was indicated that no place would be allocated based on the reservation date. Then at that moment the whole evening is ruined. The food is excellent and so are the accompanying wines. The other staff are also friendly. But this restaurant will NEVER AGAIN for us. You are not allowed to do this at this level Dealing with guests in my experience. Too bad about the anniversary.

Wij wilden samen mijn 50e verjaardag vieren en hadden maanden geleden geboekt en ons er op verheugd. Bij binnenkomst werden wij op de slechts mogelijke plek neergezet, einde grote tafel waar werkelijk iedereen langs moest en zitten op een stoel die wiebelde door losse vloerplank waar IEDEREEN langs moest. Gevraagd om een andere plek maar dat deden ze niet. Gaat niet op basis van reserveringsdatum. Wanneer je zo slecht start met een jubileumsdiner is de avond verpest. Ongelofelijk….. Het eten is overigens prima en alle extra’s die wij anders wel gedaan zouden hebben hebben we niet gedaan door dit voorval. Het overige personeel was vriendelijke en duidelijke uitleg van de gerechten en de bijpassende wijnen. Ondanks het goede eten komen wij hier NOOIT meer terug.

The dishes were really fantastic! Haven't had such good food in a long time, better than some Michelin star restaurants. The only downsides I can mention were the acoustics of the room and the toilet, but hey, that didn't spoil the fun.

For my girlfriend and me, this was our first "real" experience with a dinner of this caliber. And what a beautiful evening it was! We were served dishes with flavor combinations that you would never have come up with yourself. This was served by our hosts Jesse and Jelle, who, while pouring the wine for you, tell a strong and clear story about what will be eaten and drunk in the accompanying course. Super! Yesterday, we had the pleasure of dining at The Lemon Tree in Deventer for the fourth time, this time with family to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. We were truly pampered from start to finish! From the personal card upon arrival to the exceptional service at the table, every detail was perfect. The tableware, the glasses—everything was simply beautiful. The five-course dinner was an absolute delight, with each course a surprising and flavorful experience. Today, Michelin stars are being awarded again, and it’s unbelievable that The Lemon Tree wasn’t invited—such a missed opportunity by the Michelin committee. Then again, perhaps having a star would only bring unnecessary pressure. They should stay just as they are, because in our eyes, they are perfect. Dear Lemon Tree team, thank you so much for making our evening unforgettable! We will definitely be back!

That was a successful and delicious evening. From the friendly welcome, very good food and great service to the espresso, everything was very good and harmonious. The atmosphere is friendly and modern, but sometimes gets a little louder. The food could surprise with one or another ingredient and/or different temperatures. Use of goods appears to be of high quality. Sometimes we would have liked a little more of the main ingredient, but in the end we were full. The service is very attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The wine selection is good and our chosen wine has now found its way into our wine cellar 😋. Fine dining at a fair price. The digestif selection can be expanded. Highly recommended, we will definitely come back again.

Dining at The Lemon Tree is a memorable experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the gastronomic menu, which consisted of very interesting dishes and matching wines. The service was attentive and polite and made sure you didn't want for anything. If you follow a gluten-free diet, The Lemon Tree is a very good choice.

Tips: reserveer wel van te voren (wij hadden geluk, maar het was verder vol), glutenvrij is geen probleem!

Magnificent restaurant and very original delicious menu!

A group of highly talented and professional young people have created this exceptional place, and it shines with joie de vivre! The waiters will tell you the method of preparation and ingredients of each dish, as they bring it to the table. This is helpful, because then you know that the beurre blanc sauce for the trout has been made with champagne, or that the foam which accompanies the lamb dish is from wild mushrooms. The sommelier says something interesting about each glass that is poured (I had the four-course dinner plus wine arrangement)--not only where it comes from (Italy, South Africa, France!) but if it is made in a special kind of vat. That is, the information given to diners is always interesting. The tables are made of beautiful, rich wood, and set very far apart from each other; it is comfortable to sit in the restaurant, not least because you hear the happy buzz of conversation hovering up near the ceiling. So professional, and so enthusiastic a staff--the kitchen downstairs as well! It is an inspired combination. It is worth going to Deventer for many reasons: grand architecture, lots of creative and individual small shops, quaint museum De Waag, the 'Dickens Kabinet' (with fabulous memorabilia and endless racks of costumes, stored for the yearly festival) and brilliant carillon concerts (for free!) from the Lebuinuskerk on Friday and Saturday afternoons. But I travel there primarily to dine at The Lemon Tree, and to taste what they are cooking this season?

Everything was perfect, from the welcome to the coffee and friandises late in the evening. We ate 7 courses, each surprisingly and beautifully prepared. Special combinations and delicious wines. Service also top, very relaxed and nice and informal, I love it. Thanks for a wonderful evening!

The restaurant does not work with a menu, but offers a number of courses. (So ​​everyone eats the same). Fine for us. The courses were fun and diverse. We even thought the main course was a bit 'too normal' 😂. Little toilet space. After using the toilet I had to wait at a small sink for a gentleman who was washing his hands. Of course, there isn't much room to approach this differently, but it still felt a bit strange. When a new 'map' appears in due course, we will certainly come back.

Bij de amuses waren de verwachtingen gelijk hoog en dat is de rest van de avond zeker waargemaakt. Dit restaurant is echt een aanrader!

What a wonderful evening we had. An evening full of flavor explosions and surprising combinations. The staff is extremely friendly and we received good help from our hostess Zoë. Upon arrival there was also a thoughtfully written card on the table to congratulate us on our two-year wedding anniversary. And we sat in a cozy alcove under the Lemon tree. Fantastic. Delicious food. We had a 6 course dinner with matching wine arrangement. What an experience. Respect for Jelle, who spoke to us in a very friendly and comprehensive manner, also applies to the rest of the staff. As far as I'm concerned, it's definitely worth repeating. Perhaps an area for improvement in the toilet is to use regular towels instead of paper ones, which quickly becomes a mess 😌

had a very good experience at the Lemon tree, will summarize it briefly and post some photos of the dishes. Opted for 6 courses including pairing wine, and the wine was really pairing, my compliments, in my opinion it was better than Joan, Lazuli or Lansink. Unfortunately the menu is missing, but the cocktail you start with, the salmon and slow-cooked trout, tasted incredibly good and refined and, together with the fantastic dessert, stood out. Diamond tenderloin was ok, not special. Only the sauce of the vegetarian dish was very tasty, the rest was flat in terms of taste. All in all, definitely recommended and we will probably come there more often, perhaps the chef table because it was a bit "noisy" upstairs. We sat at a 5 meter long table with some other couples and that was fine, the distance was more than sufficient but it was just a bit noisy in general. Toilets also a bit limited, you just had to wait for your turn, could use an update/expansion. Then the service, nothing but a big compliment, it was really excellent. A lot of passion and commitment. Jelle my compliments, we had a great evening.

Received many tips from various friends, colleagues and acquaintances to visit 'The Lemon Tree' in Deventer, no sooner said than done, below is my experience and review from Friday, June 14, 2024. We made a reservation for five people at the 'Chefs Table' some time in advance. After reading reviews that this felt 'secluded' to many people, we decided to have our dinner in the restaurant. This rebooking was quite easy to achieve, the staff was very accommodating and saw no problem with this. When making a reservation, everyone must take into account €25 reservation costs per person, which will ultimately be deducted from the final bill. Once you enter the front door at The Lemon Tree, a very fresh and warm Scandinavian interior awaits you, it felt very nice to us. After waiting a while at the entrance, we were kindly welcomed by our host Jelle, who guided us to the table. We were placed in the middle of the restaurant at a long table where several couples can sit, the distance between the couples is not disturbing and in my opinion good. After Jelle served us the starters and announced the menu choices, we opted for a 6-course dinner, which consisted of two fish dishes, two meat dishes, one vegetarian dish and a dessert. In my opinion a downside, there is no menu card in which the different dishes are highlighted, at least not known to us. For us, the dishes were very tasty and there was a lot of variety in the different dishes. Almost every dish was based on Scandinavian cuisine with influence from local ingredients, it was a pleasure for us to enjoy the different courses. Attached are photos of the dishes taken by third parties from our party, unfortunately we did not take any photos of those individual dishes ourselves. Jelle knows how to provide guests with the information related to the different wines served in a correct and fun way, provided you choose the 'wine pairing'. Jelle has a good sense of which guests he has in front of him, it feels confidential and nice. Compliments for the efforts and correct way of explaining Jelle. A downside for us, given the limited space that the Lemon Tree has, there is unfortunately only one toilet for the men and one toilet for the ladies. Point of criticism from us, try to replace the 'paper' towels with something decent, these towels look a bit discarded, a decent towel can make a lot of difference to the experience of visiting the toilet. In short, we were very positively surprised. We will definitely come back, next time perhaps for the Chefs Table. Thank you The Lemon Tree for this experience!

The food was delicious, dishes were beautifully presented and what we received was explained in a nice and knowledgeable manner. Friendly service, sufficient attention for the guest. Small minus point: we received bubbles immediately upon arrival, but neither of us drink alcohol, when we said so it was no problem, we could get something else but bubbles had already been poured... We were also not given the option to choose how many courses, we were told "we are serving 6 courses today...", after consultation we were allowed to choose 4 courses, which was nicely resolved. We thought the price for 4 courses extended with cash without alcohol was a bit on the high side, but overall it was a nice experience.

Very good experience. Despite (or perhaps because of) the low average age of both the staff and the kitchen, an extremely good experience. Our host, Duncan, understands the profession very well, just the right balance between relaxed and professional. The food was phenomenal, the 6 course menu provided us with a work of art time and time again that not only looked beautiful, but also tasted very good. And of course accompanied by delicious glasses of wine, selected by the team. The restaurant itself, minimalist, but with the feeling of a living room without sacrificing the right level of "chic". All in all, the pearl of Deventer.

Chef's table is recommended, although the high stools are not very comfortable. The friandises are also very tasty. This is our third time as guests and the standard is always high. Another point of attention are the sanitary facilities. 1 ladies' and men's toilet is not enough. There used to be textile towels that have now been replaced by paper. 1 sink is also not enough. The reception at the front of the dining room is disruptive. Another entrance (in the private area?) including a cloakroom and extension of the toilet unit would make the good restaurant excel.

Not the desired seat upon arrival even though this was discussed in advance. Then we were given another place that was fine. As compensation we would get a drink on the house. However, it was still on the bill later. Nice attractive tent. The rest of the service was fine. I expected more from the food. I don't eat fish, but I expected more from the food, not surprising. Unfortunately it does not meet the price level.

Scandinavian design meets next level hospitality… It's all about experience and more! That's certainly a good thing at “The Lemon Tree & Suites”! More than good, if you ask me. ;) Unusual tasty dishes prepared under the inspiring leadership of chef Stan van Lieshout. Everything is served with enthusiasm and knowledge. We drank beautiful wines, while I am not even a huge wine drinker (although "smaller glasses" for me) but after sommelier Job's passionate explanation I simply "had" to taste the wine with the dish. Good thing too, because those wine/food combinations were so good! A (well-oiled) young team works here with great pleasure, you can tell that in everything and you can taste it in every dish. From amuse to dessert... Everything just felt right. Stylish natural luxury with an eye for detail. Owner Valentijn Bergers has more than succeeded in this. The warm Scandinavian interior, the beautiful walnut wood tables, cleanly laid. (I liked the sturdy cutlery blocks with cutlery... and it was nice to be able to choose which cutlery you want to eat the dishes with). The enthusiasm radiates from every team member. It's those little details that make the difference; the more than friendly welcome, being picked up from the suite with an umbrella because it was raining, the napkin that is neatly refolded when you go to the toilet between courses. A new clean blade that is brought immediately after the other blade has only just made contact with the ground (how?;) The crumbs that are silently removed from the table between courses. And no "stuffy stuff"... there is a relaxed atmosphere and you feel very comfortable as a guest. If you don't feel like going home (or because this is simply not a good plan;) you can afterwards collapse on a comfortable Auping bed in one of the stylishly furnished Lemon suites. What an experience! My husband and I enjoyed a 6-course dinner with wine pairing on October 19. The welcome was very warm, our host Job knows his trade very well! Interested in his guests, time for a nice explanation of dishes and wines. Jelle's hosting is also top notch. This young team knows what they are doing! Dinner was excellent! The amuse-bouches are beautiful and special. Every course was delicious. The langoustine course was a nice opening, and the lamb cheek and kohlrabi course were really worth mentioning. The dryaged salmon and tenderloin were excellently prepared and beautifully flavored. The wines with the courses were special. Special attention to the Dutch wine from Gelders Laren with a special blend for this restaurant. The decoration of the restaurant is clean with a refined and beautiful natural touch. The wooden tables and chairs are beautifully designed! Are you in Deventer and do you really want to enjoy gastronomic pleasure? Go eat here!

Voor een totale eetbelevenis moet je echt een keer naar The Lemon Tree gaan!

Het eten was een smaakexplosie. Dat begon al bij iets simpels als brood met kruidenboter. Drie heel verschillende kruidenboters lagen er op het plankje. De bediening was fenomenaal. Ik was wat veeleisend over de wijn, waarbij ik de eerste twee suggesties afsloeg. De ober wist op basis van mijn voorkeuren een perfecte wijn aan te raden en kon uitgebreid vertellen over de verschillen. Zelfs de opstelling van de tafels voegde toe aan het plaatje. Alles was perfect.

Bijzonder lekker eten in een ontspannen sfeer

Super beleving gehad.Chefs menu: een diversiteit aan kleine gerechtjes met mooie en verrassende smaak- en textuur combinaties. Genoten met het wijn arrangement. Perfect op elkaar afgestemd. Echt genieten! Het personeel is vlot in bediening, en attent. Kortom een topavond.

Super restaurant voor wie een avond lang wil genieten. Erg leuke service en sommelier. Komen zeker nog eens terug

Heerlijk gegeten na onze bruiloft. De bediening was erg goed, vriendelijk en professioneel. Het restaurant is sfeervol. En al het eten was verassend, goed op smaak, mooi opgemaakt en elk gerechtje was weer heerlijk. De bijpassende wijnen waren ook erg goed. Wij hebben genoten en het was echt een super afsluiter van een mooie dag. Dankjewel!

Wat een geweldige ervaring en belevenis om hier te mogen eten. We kregen een upgrade aan de chef's table, we hebben een super mooie avond gehad met vrienden. Heerlijk eten met bijpassende wijnen. Geweldig team wat met enthousiasme hun werk doen!

Top ervaring! Michelin ster waardig. Erg leuk team van enthousiaste, aardige en professionele jongeren. Alles erg goed uitgelegd en heerlijk gegeten! Erg genoten, probeer het eens zou ik zeggen. Het is niet goedkoop maar het geld meer dan waard

Nou vanavond was het dan zover: we gaan eten bij ‘DE LEMON TREE 🍋 ‘ met vrienden En dat heb ik geweten! Toen we aan kwamen lopen werden we hartelijk ontvangen en hebben we eerst lekker geborreld buiten bij het zitje met een biertje. Vervolgens hadden wij de VIP plek aan het raam gekregen met ronde tafel en ging onze host direct aan de slag met water inschenken en vragen wat we wilden drinken. Daarna werd uitgebreid het menu doorgenomen en gevraagd waar we niet dol op zijn. In mijn geval is dat best ingewikkeld: ik houd niet van schaal en schelpdieren en zeker niet van orgaan vlees en bovendien lust ik geen rode wijn. Nou dat is allemaal geen probleem voor onze super vriendelijke attente host. We zijn die avond verrast door allemaal lekkernijen en lekker wijnen ,allemaal in een relax tempo , geen stress maar wel lekker door. Lang verhaal kort: de Lemon 🍋 tree heeft me heel erg verrast en ik ga hier zeker nog een keer naar toe. Als je bij Jackies bent geweest snap je dat het service nivo doorgetrokken is naar dit restaurant en dat je hier bijna aan gewend bent en dat heel veel restaurants hier een voorbeeld aan zouden kunnen nemen, niet normaal wat goed. Dus : eten top, bediening super top , aanrader, zeker keer gaan eten en als er geen plek is proberen bij Jackies 😉 ga zo door !!

Het eten en bijgaande wijn assortiment zijn voortreffelijk. De bediening probeert iets te hard. Het voelt pretentieus aan. Beetje ongemakkelijk. Verder helemaal fantastisch.

6 gangen menu genomen met bijpassende wijnen. Al meerdere keren bij de lemon tree geweest en altijd lekker gegeten. Deze keer was ook het eten weer erg lekker, alleen wat minder verrassend als vroeger. Voorheen had het menu een wat hoger show element en werd er aan tafel meer beleving gebracht. En waar is de suikerspin bij de koffie gebleven😭, ook het menu met stempel is verdwenen. Nu alleen een QR code die verwijst naar een menu dat niet klopt met wat wij gegeten hebben. Kortom nog steeds een zeer goed restaurant, maar niet mee zo bijzonder en verrassend als het ooit geweest is….

Vanaf het eerste moment dat je een stap naar binnen zet begint het feest, echt onwijs goed van begin tot eind elk gerecht is een feest. De wijn spijs combinatie is onwijs sterk. Ze hebben zelfs een eigen wijn ontworpen genaamd the Lemon Blanc. Wij komen vanuit Almere naar Deventer toe om The Lemon experience te ervaren. Alles klopt aan The lemon Tree. Het is werkelijk een avontuur. Top team, dank jullie wel!

Ontzettend leuk weekend in Deventer gehad. Geslapen en gedineerd bij Lemon Tree, het was één groot feest en we kunnen het alleen maar aanbevelen. Zo gastvrij, heerlijk gegeten en fijne wine pairing. De sfeer was top! En dan wakker worden met uitzicht op de Ijssel, wat wil je nog meer. Achteraf wat spulletjes vergeten, die kregen we nog geen week later thuis bezorgd. Veel dank voor de goede zorgen, wij komen zeker terug!
