⭐☆☆☆☆ Customer Service: 1 Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Food: 5 Stars We recently visited The Lobby Nesplein with two separate bookings for two different teams of friends. Although we arrived together, our reservations were completely separate, and we never asked to combine the tables. Unfortunately, the way we were treated at the entrance was very disappointing. The hostess told us in a rather rude tone that we were “fooling” the restaurant and that next time we should make “a full booking instead of scamming them,” which was shocking and completely uncalled for. We explained politely that we simply had two bookings, two tables, and were not asking for any special accommodations. The restaurant was not even full at the time, yet we were made to feel unwelcome. This interaction left a very negative impression about their customer service. Hospitality is about making guests feel comfortable, not accused. That being said, the food was absolutely fantastic—easily 5 out of 5. Every dish was prepared beautifully and tasted amazing. Compliments to the kitchen team for delivering such high quality. If only the service matched the excellence of the food, this would have been a perfect experience.

Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with lunch. The food was overall very bland and lacked seasoning – even a bit of salt would have helped. The Caesar salad was especially disappointing, as it was not prepared the way one would expect. Overall, the flavors just didn’t convince me. The only highlight: the service was truly excellent – attentive, friendly, and quick.

I celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday here, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The two lovely ladies coordinated the surprise birthday wish and candles on the crème brûlée exactly as I had asked before dinner. They were incredibly sweet and helpful, truly the best service you could ask for. The food was also great, I’ve been here four times already and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is always lovely. Honestly, it’s a 100/10 for everything combined.

we were not staisfied with the service, we waited long for them to bring the menues, and later forgot about our drinks. some tables are awkwardly close to eachother, you cannot sit down without having to squish into the people in the next table. the food and the atmosphere was good.

Meager portion of chicken fillet for a hefty price For €24 we were served half a chicken fillet – without fries, because that cost an extra €6. We were really surprised at how little there was on the plate. This should have been a main course but it was more like a starter. When we told the staff about this, they still gave us the other part of the chicken fillet as an ‘after-service’. Apparently they knew themselves that it was too little, but they only did that after we said something about it. The staff did their best but as a chef you should be ashamed to tell them this. For this price you just expect a decent portion, without having to complain to get your plate complete. Really disappointing. The taste was okay, but the overall picture is not right. Not recommended.

Starting by saying that the food and atmosphere was really good - I'm writing this review to give feedback on the service here. We were genuinely shocked to receive such rude, abrupt service at the lobby by one man in particular. The restaurant was really quiet at this point so we weren't sure why he was taking so long to take our drinks order, eventually I went up to the bar to order myself, I was turned away nicely saying the waiter will take your order - the male waiter then stormed over saying "you couldn't wait your turn could you, what do you want" shocked, I stumbled on "sorry, il just have a white wine please", this seemed to aggravate him more "WHAT white wine?". part of paying for an evening out is enjoying friendly, helpful service and we were truly disappointed at how rude this waiter was.

Las ostras se cubrieron con una salsa extraña y luego un poco de salsa verde - demasiado abrumador y el sabor de la ostra se perdió, insípido. ¡Mi pescado con zanahorias y salsa de zanahoria tenía demasiada zanahoria! Algunas verduras verdes habrían ayudado. El plato de carne era muy bueno, así como los vinos.

We were looking for a good place to eat and by chance found this one which we were absolutelly pleased with. The food was amazing, it is true that the portions are not that big for the price, but taking into account how beautiful tge place is and the quiality of the food that they serve whilr being in amsterdam's centre, we can say that it is totalky worth it

Vriendelijke medewerkers en wat leuk dat er spontaan een fles kraanwater op je tafel wordt neergezet. Super gastvrij, daar zouden veel restaurants van kunnen leren. De lunch gerechten waren allemaal heerlijk, flammkuchen, eggs Benedict en Caesar salad met kip. Rose smaakt heerlijk. Wij hebben genoten en dank voor alles

This is a cozy place with great service, tasty food, a very extensive drinks menu and, on top of that, very well-maintained sanitary facilities. The price - quality was perfectly balanced. Highly recommended in the heart of Amsterdam!

Wir haben zum Frühstück Egg Benedict bestellt aber es ging schon mit dem Kaffee schief, der einfach nur sauer und ungenießbar war. Als dann die Egg Benedict kamen, war der Appetit schnell vergangen. Die Eier wurden auf weichem Brot ( Brioche???) serviert und waren vollständig kalt ebenso wie die Sauce Hollandaise. Nicht lecker!

Ordered Eggs Benedict since it looked popular. The bread is actually a hamburger bun (perhaps brioche), untoasted. The ham comes in generous portions, but like the bread, it is cold, I’m guessing they was just pulled from the fridge and slapped down. The eggs were somehow also cold. I suspect they pre-make them and have them in an ice bath. Overall I think simple tweaks could have made this better. Disappointed at the price point. Ambiance was very very nice though, perhaps dinner or lunch is better

Experienced very bad service. First of all, I wasn't asked what I wanted for dinner, then I wasn't asked what I wanted to drink. The steak was completely red inside and the potatoes were barely cooked. Was really dirty.

Lunch was fine, not spectacular… and staff was quite tone deaf to me and my companion trying to have a conversation. They kept asking if we needed anything, if we wanted to order more. Took plates the minute we put down cutlery. All in all I felt rushed and pushed to finishing my lunch quickly. Ended up talking to my lunch date in the streets to catch up on life cause that didn’t work in the restaurant.

I do not recommend this restaurant, the service is like a pub, the food is disgusting, the steak was paired with capers, the French fries were cold and wooden, for 43 euros. A scandal

We are guests at hotel V. This is the second consecutive evening, yesterday Sunday and today Monday, that we have been denied a service at the bar after dinner. Today it was 10:36 PM. This is unacceptable in a hotel that claims to be international and where we spent around 400 euro by night. I also have a criticism: at breakfast and dinner, please turn on the lights, you can’t see anything on the plate!

I didn’t like the Caesar salad at all, the flamkuchen with pear and gorgonzola was good. I can’t give it higher than a three; I don’t know why there are such good reviews. Maybe there's a better menu for dinner, but I wasn't happy with lunch.

Un peu chère pour ce que c’est mais globalement bon . La salade Cesar était très bonne et qualitative pour le budget. Le burger lui était bon mais pas très gros, les frites un peu trop cuite .. et globalement chère pour ce que c’est ! Donc pour résumé, bon mais pas mon premier choix en rapport qualité prix.

I really like the vibe of this place, perfect for having date or calm conversation with friend. Also in the back of restaurant you can sit on couch and have coffee. But for the food I ordered the iron flat stake, the sauce was perfect but the stake it self could be better and it wasn’t the perfect stake that I expected. The meat was a bit plastic feel and If they sou vid the meat before it would be way better.

Had an early pre-movie dinner here and loved it. The flat-iron steak was tender, perfectly grilled (medium rare) and flavourful . Best to order the fries as a side as the is only a tiny portion of mashed potato with it, but the fries are crispy and served with both ketchup and mayo. The service was friendly and competent. And the atmosphere is fantastic - cozy, dimly lit and inviting. Great for a date night or with a small, intimate group. Can’t wait to go back again!

Nice place and very cosy. Not too many choice which was difficult with children even if the place is 100% kids friendly. We didn't want to take the menu (4 plates or more) because we had the kids but it would definitely be the good choice

Hamburger was first served with a blackened bun, so it could be returned. My friend, who had indicated that she was pregnant, got the Caesar salad with a poached egg, and had to go back too. That took so long that I had already finished my hamburger in the meantime. While waiting, the waitress asked if my friend wanted another "waiting drink". By which she suggested that, because we couldn't eat our lunch together, it was on the house. The salad didn't come until 10 minutes later, when I had already finished my plate and it had been cleared. Ultimately paid for everything, no sorry/excuse that both dishes were sent back, no drink on the house, just had the bill paid with dry eyes. Don't ask what it was like either, because the kid would know that he would get the wind from him. We wanted to have lunch here with the witnesses and supporters after our wedding, but we've decided against that now.

As an eggs Benedict lover, this was the worst one I’ve had so far in Amsterdam. We had the eggs royale (the one with salmon), and the sauce on top of it was so salty that I had to push all of it aside. Luckily, the steak tartare was pretty good, together with the fries that came with it. The prices are pretty inflated here too, but I guess the great service and cozy atmosphere make up for that..

Wow, I didn’t know I’d find the pancakes of my life in Amsterdam🥞! The cream is yogurt cream, not regular cream, so I think it goes better with blueberries🫐 The coffee is also good~☕️ The portion size is a bit too much for a woman to eat alone😇 It's open early in the morning, so it would be a good idea to stop by for a quick brunch menu before starting your schedule.

Très bon restaurant avec cuisine raffinée et moderne. Belle décoration et équipe très sympathique. Les plats ne sont cependant pas très copieux et pourtant assez chers. Le dessert « bonbons » a été décevant : ce ne sont que 4 chocolats.

Honestly it comes nothing close to what it used to be. The service was horrible, a blonde waitress especially rude. They didn’t have basic toast and didn’t bother to inform till they got our order. The eggs weren’t poached properly, it was mostly cooked. The French toast dry and a little burnt and way too hard to chew. Both the egg dishes didn’t contain even a pinch of salt.

Have been there for Lunch. Sitting outside. Just good to know: At Lunch they serve just a few simpler dishes. That was perfect for us. The "Tarte flambee" and the "Gazpacho" were very nice. The waiters did an exceptionally friendly, accommodating and welcoming job. Absolutely recommended!!
