Really delicious food! Meat was great!

The food was delicious and was brought to us in an enthusiastic manner with detailed explanations. We had opted for a 3-course menu where the chef can choose what we will eat. The quantity was a bit on the small side. I didn't really feel satisfied after dessert. Still, the food was delicious. Next time we will choose what we want, but we will definitely come back.

We ate the delicious spare ribs on Monday offer. They were delicious. Super cooked and tasty. Despite the excuse for staffing, smooth service. Cozy decoration.

The restaurant is really expensive but the food deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately, we apparently chose the wrong day to eat there (Monday). Half of the menu was unavailable due to the busy weekend. The chef tried to make up for it by offering a free chimichuri sauce.

Eating with sunshine, delicious food and very good service. It is a place where you can repeat and eat to your heart's content. The only thing is that they are a little slow for both drinks and food, but nothing more 🤤

Very good food, spareribs were great! The meat fell off the bone. The bavette steak was also very tasty. Atmosphere in the restaurant was great. Service was great. Nice girls. We didn't have much time to eat. Within half an hour we were outside again.

14-02-2025 again: We ordered the meat for €80.00 and it was served on a rechaud. In Dutch, "rechaud" means a heating device or small portable stove used to keep food warm, often while eating. It is often used with fondue, stew or other dishes that need to be kept warm at the table. A rechaud usually has a burner or heat source that is placed under a bowl or pot to keep the temperature of the food constant without cooking it further. So when you find out that they have forgotten the tea lights, and then report it but there is no response, you just keep eating because otherwise it would be a waste of meat. The fries were warmer…. At the checkout the 'lady' said that the tea lights were for atmosphere and not to keep warm... In the end I said that I didn't want to start the discussion but I was disappointed with it. But 'the lady' continued for a while. She had been working there for three years and that was her answer. If you have been working in the catering industry for three years, you know that you never argue with a guest. But apparently she didn't care about that. I was always very satisfied with the meatroom, but this ending left a nasty aftertaste. After reading several reviews on TripAdvisor, for example, I could find out that they often serve cold meat (or less hot meat). And that they don't do anything if you say something about it. Just like us, because we also said something about it at the table to an employee. Shame. It can be such a good thing. But for such amounts I will go somewhere else for a dinner from now on (around € 200.00 for two people) Lunch has always been good so far, I'll give that another try. Not dinner. ********************************************** You can really enjoy delicious food here. They have slightly different dishes than usual. Some dishes are a bit more expensive, but for a special night out it is definitely worth it!! The service is good, friendly and fast. Now it wasn't that busy, so I don't know what it will be like if it will be busier, but I'm guessing they will be well prepared for that. We will definitely come back!! To give you an idea: we had the €80.00 dish for two people, and with two drinks and a starter and dessert we spent €160. (I had a large €8 gravy and a coke, my friend two beers)

Very nice place, delicious food. We took the mature bone rib. On the other hand, the service, there is a big problem: there are only 2 of them for the whole restaurant which is obviously not enough. More than 20 minutes before giving us the card and asking for our drinks. We almost left...

We were very disappointed that the service became incredibly disinterested as the evening progressed and the restaurant became a bit emptier. When we finished our main course it took a very long time for our table to be cleared and we were not asked if we wanted dessert. We wanted that, so at one point we asked for the dessert menu. Then it took an extremely long time again before someone came to take our order; we were actually just about to leave. It's a shame that they treat their customers this way, because it is quite a nice restaurant and the food was great!

Good food, good service, and friendly staff!

It's a restaurant you can't miss if you visit Leeuwarden. The food is of very good quality and very well prepared. We were very surprised by the vegan meat, which they explained is made in Utrecht with a 3D food printer! It's delicious! The burger is also very good. We were a group of 15 people, and everyone was very happy with the dinner. If we return to Leeuwarden, we will come back!

Nice tent in Leeuwarden. Very conveniently close to the parking garage. Excellent service and nice seats. Nice wine. I think price/quality is a bit skewed. Quite expensive for not very luxurious food. Tasty and good but not super special.

Heard a lot about it, so I went (unfortunately) ambiance reasonable but very noisy and busy, service professional and sympathetic, but unkempt looking, quality of the food is nothing to write home about, actually very bad, carpattio smelled like freshly slaughtered poultry and was many times too salty, the steak subsequently chosen (recommended by the waiter on duty) was tough and generously provided with white tendons, has nothing to do with steak, Lidl sells them of considerably better quality, small bright spot, ice cream and beer were tasty, certainly not worth making this trip again

The food was very tasty. Well prepared and beautifully presented. However, our service took a very long time. The gentleman in charge upstairs seemed very disinterested. After sitting for 20 minutes we still had not received a menu. I then walked to the counter myself to ask for a menu. The response was then quite unfriendly. After 2 hours 20 the third course came. So the food is good but the staff, especially for the price, is a bit of a drag on the experience.

Arrival was around 6:00 PM and after a long wait for the food it quickly became 9:00 PM when we chose the 4 courses. (we only had 3 courses because it took us too long). The bill was resolved well. After returning home and a few hours later, my girlfriend and I were both not fit and had to throw up.

Delicious food, in a nice relaxed atmosphere. The people working there clearly enjoyed what they were doing which really added to the overall experience. I had the dry aged ribeye (dual purpose) and my table companion had the dry aged rump steak (dual purpose). For dessert we had cheesecake... so fantastically delicious... lightly sweet but not too... just perfect. All in all, a big 10. And definitely worth repeating!

Had dinner here with the family to celebrate my fiance's 50th birthday. It is a bit pricey, but we had a very tasty meal. I knew that the rest wanted to go here, but as the only vegetarian of the bunch, I didn't expect any exciting options (it's not called the meat room for nothing, of course). But I was wrong, the vegetarian options are also delicious. The service did detract from the experience somewhat, therefore one star less. The woman with a slight accent (maybe the maître D?) did a very good job, the two other waiters first asked almost annoyingly if we wanted more drinks, but then left us with empty plates and glasses for a long time while they stood a meter away looking around. One kept scratching under his armpit, the other hung over the tables a little too amicably. Our drinks order went wrong a few times, but was corrected promptly. Furthermore, a very nice evening and we will definitely come back.

We had a nice meal on Spareribs Monday, the portion was sufficient for us, we also had some fries and salad, both also excellent. We would have liked to sit by the window, but that was not possible even though there was room for this.

It did 'meat' our expectations. Very nicely decorated now that the holidays are approaching. ✨ Friendly staff and more importantly, delicious food. Good meat. The bun was crunchy but not too hard that would normally bite your palate.

Ordered a 4 course menu and only received 3. Please note that almost everywhere you have to order a side dish, otherwise you will only get a piece of meat. I ordered a 4-course surprise from the chef and as a surprise I had to visit McDonald's afterwards. What could go wrong did go wrong. Bread board and tartare 2 ounces ribeye and dessert 45 euros. Delicious food, enthusiastic staff (nice intern!). When booking, I asked for 2 glasses of cava to be brought as soon as we were seated, that went smoothly and all the staff were aware of the 'special occasion'. That's how you make your guests feel appreciated. Wagye, pork belly, rib eye and T bone were very good. I was under the impression that there would be no vegetables on the plates at all, but that wasn't the case, which is why I didn't finish the vegetable side dish. Absolutely recommended, absolutely worth the higher price range!

Beautiful, atmospheric place with a good menu with deliciously tender and high-quality meat. And even, despite the name Meat Room, you can choose delicious vegetarian dishes with a super tasty taste and structure.

Truly fantastic, I have been here a number of times and I always order the pork belly as a starter. For me, this is the dish that I keep coming back for. Everything is correct in that dish, all flavors and quantities, texture, appearance, etc. Everything is correct ❤️ I also ordered the potato gratin this time and I can highly recommend combining it with the cowboy butter, decadence at its finest! All in all, a very tasty experience and worth the price tag.

Meat was great. We had the chateau and the dry aged ribeye. Side dishes are also fine, but that's not what I come for😉 Service super friendly and helpful. I personally found the atmosphere a bit less. Open kitchen of which we could see little because of the enormous spiral staircase in the middle of the restaurant. Will definitely come back!

First time here with a cup of tea and brownie. Really delicious! Good piece of brownie with delicious whipped cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Which is very nice and handy in a cup. It is really a cup of tea and not a small/half-filled cup of tea. Addition/update: unfortunately it has become variable regarding the brownie and I take it there as standard. But the fact that it is variable and that it is less makes me less likely to come there and enjoy it. No idea what the reason for the change is.

Tonight, my wife (and our little four-legged friend) spontaneously went to this restaurant to inquire whether there was still a spot available. There was and taking the dog was no problem. We were helped very kindly. A bowl of water was immediately fetched for the dog. We really enjoyed the delicious food. The service was also very friendly. Today was our first visit to this nice restaurant and certainly not the last time. We will come here more often.

The spare ribs were a delight, the best I have ever eaten and the fries were fresh and also very tasty. The location is pleasant and clean. Staff friendly and accommodating. The price was a little higher but it was worth it, so it deserves 5 stars in everything.👍

I had delicious spare ribs, but I also really enjoyed the steaks. In terms of acoustics, the building could perhaps be improved somewhat, but when it is full you cannot always hear your table companion.

Love it love it love it! The service was amazing as the waiters and waitresses were so attentive and caring during our whole time eating there. We got the porterhouse as our main, carpaccio as our starter, roasted baby potatoes + truffle parmesan fries + roasted vegetables as our side. There is something so delicious about the vegetables that makes it just so lekker. Please do yourself a favour and get the beef carpaccio!!! It was divine, heavenly, and just out of this world. Just a perfect mix of umami, sweet, and tangy!

We hadn't even received our order before we were stopped to leave. The service is poor and it takes forever for the food and drinks to arrive. And then being told twice more that you should leave, even though you haven't received anything yet, is disgusting.

After eating at The Meat Room 10 times, I can confidently say that this is my favorite restaurant of all time. I am so enthusiastic about the quality of the meat and the preparation that I now feel like having a delicious steak more often than ever (but from The Meat Room!) The staff is also very friendly and helpful. What a relief for the city as a lover of good food.

Excellent restaurant at the 'Ruiterskwartier', in the heart of Leeuwarden. In addition to an attractive interior, they have a nice menu + beer list. I really ate an excellent smoked Rib-Eye Carpaccio here (five stars). My main course was okay (Dry-Aged Entrecote). But not sublime (I've had better). I was a bit disappointed with the pepper sauce. All in all not bad, but for the price I expected a little more (hence four instead of five stars).

Very degrading experience, food was spoiled (had a bit of mold on it). Ate one bite and have been sick for weeks now. I also slept very badly the night before we went to eat here!!

The children's menu was better than our 3 course menu. Good chicken nuggets and fries. 3 course main course (surprise from the chef) could have been much better. They also forgot to serve us after the main course. Actually only 3 stars, but because the children's menu was good, still 4 stars!

We had a delicious meal at The Meat Room, the service was very friendly, the food fantastic and a very good atmosphere. A cozy atmosphere. We received a good explanation about the meat, from the display case to the pan. Very nice. The quantity was more than enough. And when I told them at checkout that it was our son's birthday, they brought brownies and fireworks. Top case, worth repeating. We will definitely be back!!

Very nice service and cozy atmosphere on the terrace. The presentation of the food was very beautiful. The taste of the meat was okay. Rib eye sandwich was good. Only Brisket sandwich was a bit out of balance in terms of taste, the vegetables were too dominant.
