If you arrive not too late, it's a great place to chat and have a good time. Besides that, seeing the little dog that walks around the bar is lovely. She goes around to each table to say hello.

The Queen’s Head was one of the best surprises of my time in Amsterdam. I arrived without knowing what to expect and ended up having one of the best nights of my life. The atmosphere is warm, fun, and incredibly welcoming. There was a spectacular drag show, the drinks were expertly prepared, and I ended up meeting some wonderful people. The servers are friendly, attentive, and have amazing energy. A perfect place to have a great time, feel part of the local scene, and be amazed by Amsterdam's nightlife. Highly recommended.

Great friendly queer bar. If you are nice the staff is always nice. They have most drinks cocktails and tap beer, Roberto and Alex at the bar has been great. There’s drag shows every week, come and see Queen Skyla and Queen Bok Choi, give them big tips🤍 each day has a fun theme to try that vibe out.

Awesome little gay bar in a great location in Amsterdam. We popped in for a drink after eating at the ramen place next door and the atmosphere was super welcoming and just as crazy as you'd want. Staff were really friendly and you're served quickly.

I literally took a 20 euro car to come here and the door man told me they are at capacity. As I'm standing two younger guys walk up, he tells them the same thing. 5 minutes later as I'm sitting across the street having a beer, he let's said 2 younger guys in! Then doesn't let 2 girls go in, 5 minutes after the 2 guys. SHADY. Your not that special Queenshead!

Reading the reviews again, a lot goes wrong at The Queen's Head during Pride. This time was no exception. I finished the street party and went inside to return my deposit cups. However, one of the bartenders on duty wasn't keen because, according to him, the cups had fallen off the floor. This wasn't the case, but even if it had, it shouldn't be a reason to refuse a refund. The whole point of the deposit is to keep the cups out of the environment. This wasn't a very elegant story, but it got even crazier when this bartender refused to return my cups. This makes it increasingly seem like there's a business model behind the deposit cups. In one of The Queen's Head's responses to a negative review below, they state that you can return your deposit cup all night long. That's definitely not true. Too bad! P.S. In response to The Queen's Head's response, the following: The deposit system now sounds like a very noble endeavor from The Queen's Head, but it is simply a permit requirement from the municipality of Amsterdam.

I don’t know if this is a fair review or not, I’m not sure if it’s fair to give a bad review on a place you’ve not been in, however…. I turned up here on a Tuesday evening just looking for a like-minded place to have a beer, I was turned away at the door because it was bingo night. The woman on the door said “do you have a reservation” and “it’s bingo night so we can’t help you”

A wonderful atmosphere. Friendly bartenders. Even boring, straight Polish tourists like us had a wonderful time there. A must-see in Amsterdam.

We came for the free open mic comedy show and were so happy we did! Every single person made us laugh out loud, some even brought us to tears with laughter. The staff are super friendly and the vibe is just wonderful.

The party was a blast! Impeccable service, crazy atmosphere and surprises galore! We spent 3 evenings in a row there with friends, we love it, we love it. Be careful, the liquorice shooter is disgusting… We will come back!!!

Fun bingo night! My friends and I had a nice time, and in this review, I just want to mention some info that can be helpful to other visitors. As of march 2025, the bingo fee pp was 15 euro, and they had a mandatory minimum consumption of 20 euro pp.

Visited to watch a drag show in the evening. The venue itself has a very cute decor and vibe. The staff are great at organising groups into the seating areas. That being said compared to other LGBTQ+ friendly venues it may feel that it doesn't cater for all types of people. I was surprised that a queer venue with gendered toilets (i.e. not gender neutral). The drag performance was fun but it felt like it was more catered to the hen/bachelorette party crowd (which on my visit was very large), for example, the queen played a game which split teams based on their genitals which made me, a trans person, feel a bit uneasy. I think overall though the drinks are pretty reasonable the bar is nice and cosy, staff friendly, just maybe not as inclusive as other spots!

Guy on the door said it was full and wouldn't let us in. Place wasn't busy, he was just being a dick.

That was very awesome. We visited this gay bar in Amsterdam city center and we wished we actually lived there! The staff was super friendly and the show that was hosted was perfect! We were on a bingo drag show. The best experience of our lives! We laughed so hard that it is gonna be memorable. Great prices, vast variety of drinks and very nice atmosphere in general.

On my first visit, I was very well treated. However, on my second time, a bald man, who I believe is the manager, informed me that there was a fee to watch the show. His attitude was completely unnecessary, as if he doubted my ability to pay. I do not recommend it.

This is a great gay bar in the Red Light on Zeedijk. This spot should be on your list of spots to check out when visiting the Amsterdam Red Light. Cold beer, warm service, and a great selection of drinks. Daniel and Mike are amazing bartenders. If you happen to come in when they're working you're in for good conversations and won't leave disappointed.

Price for beer is very expensive. Plan to spend around €20 for two .05 l of glass of beer. We felt we were overcharged. You cant take advantage of customers motvmatter what. Almost €10 for beer? Cone on.Small bar, cute but just too expensive for cheap beer. Too bad will never come back. Word of mouth will go out...US tourists

Very nice place! We tried Tuesday evening bingo with my friends. The atmosphere was very nice and we felt safe. We laughed a lot! You have to come quite early though because the place is not very big. But it's worth it, you have to do it! The prices are also very fair 🥳

Total mess behind the bar, couldn't make Aperol Spritz because they didn't know where they left their prosecco. No matter you order drinks , they are also charging you 1 euro for the toilet. Absolute rip off. Avoid !
