I stumbled upon this place through a social deal. What a great place! Great beers and a great atmosphere. You don't see that much these days. Absolutely fantastic.

It's a bit scary when you come in as a tourist and the owner makes a strange comment and doesn't even look at you when you ask something. The waiter is great.

If you're on texel make sure to visit de Slock. The high beer 🍺 is an excellent value, and free soup 2nd Saturday of the month. Will definitely be back!

A really nice place with a really friendly host and an amazing selection of craft beers. It's lovely to sit in the conservatory and watch the shoppers. We had our pictures taken at least five times in an hour 😃.

Had a fantastic evening with a great band and a fantastic atmosphere! I forgot my jacket at night... I called the next day and found it. We were at the Tesselaar Brewery for a tour, and they even brought my jacket over!! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

Nice traditional Dutch pub, pleasantly busy. We had a "high beer" there. It was great, with the bartender explaining the different beers and some tasty snacks.

Had two wonderfully enjoyable evenings. And that as "outsiders." Plus, they have a great beer selection, which even surprises the bar staff. Spontaneous conversations and good banter, just like in a good pub! Thanks to Mike, Rick, and Paul (and others) for the good times, perhaps we'll see you again. Well, how fun!!!!! Vacation on Texel...so we checked if there was a good Social Deal. And yes, at the Slock! Let's do that 👊 We had a nice time today. Great price for one delicious bite! Delicious sandwich of the day (with egg salad), a nice cup of coffee, and a delicious pastry (a Kasteeltje this time). Excellent service, lovely outdoor dining. Definitely a nice place to grab a small snack and/or drink. (both outside and inside, of course). They also have various types of BEERS! Terrace in front of the shop and another terrace across the street! 👌 Of course, you can also go there without the Social Deal....

Nice brown pub with islanders and tourists. Large selection of local beers. Tasty bitterballen and very friendly owner with a big heart for the business!

If you are a tourist, do not go here. They tried to scam us with the price without giving receipt. When found out, the manager tried to power-trip with checking IDs and did not accept European IDs saying it's not Dutch.

Coziest brown cafe on Texel! They organize fun events or theme parties every weekend. The bitterballen are really good, delicious changing (local) special beers on tap, they can also tell you a lot about them. In the summer you can sit here on the terrace and in the winter it's nice and warm inside with various sports on TV, and during the European Championship you can often watch football on 6 screens and a large projector! Something is organized every weekend with fun DJs or bands, then it is really a party cafe until the late hours, you must have been here! Keep up the good work Bjorn and staff, I really feel at home here, you have really put the cafe on the map again!

They know how to make tasty beers here. Visited here on October 19, 2024 with a group of 12 people. Various specialty beers were tasted and consumed. Recommended!! The bitterballen here are really great. And the bartender Rick (I think that's his name) understands it all very well. Keep it up and we would love to come again. PS that Jopen 4 grains is really the best!!

We had a wonderful New Year's Eve at De Slock! We were warmly welcomed with champagne and oliebollen. Dutch records played all night long. The bar staff are very friendly. Unfortunately we were unable to attend the countdown, as the café did not open until after New Year's Eve. Good to know: in Den Burg there are no bars open during New Year's Eve where you can countdown.

We were there on Friday...the beer collection is awesome. The DJ did a great job and I met a few nice People, especially Judica. Thanks :)

Wij waren met een schoolklas uit Rotterdam in Den Burg beland en wilden graag de wedstrijd van Feyenoord kijken. De wedstrijd begon echter al om 14:00 terwijl het café pas om 16:00 opent. Wij belden met de eigenaar en die besloot de zaak eerder voor ons te openen zodat wij de wedstrijd bij hem konden kijken. Extreem goede service en een uitermate vriendelijke eigenaar! Deze actie maakte onze dag en zullen wij niet vergeten! Kortom, vijf-sterren service bij de Slock!

Musik, viele Menschen prima Musik. Wir hätten ewig dort bleiben können..

We zaten iets eerder dan t open ging. Maar dan was geen probleem. Super aardig en hartelijk werden we ontvangen. We hebben lekker gebiljard. We konden zeker terug.

Habe die Bierpalette gehabt und es waren 4 unterschiedliche Biere mit interessanten Geschmacks Richtungen. Das Personal ist freundlich und kompetent.

I know this place since ages. Use to come here ages ago. It's still a great location. Pool table, good music and a variety of all kind of beers. Well worth a visit!

Wel gezellig kroegje niet groot maar groot genoeg en je kan er nog normaal praten met elkaar omdat de muziek niet te luidruchtig is

Fantastie's cafe,altijd gezellig. Veel soorten bier. En een Groot terras.

De eerste intentie was om de quali van de Zandvoort.. helaas begon dat een uur eerder en kregen we de boel niet aan de praat. Tomeloze inzet van de eigenaar. Heerlijke palet aan speciaalbieren (254 stuks). Superleuke stek om hier te zitten. Jongeman achter de bar pouleerde de glazen. Dat zie je maar weinig. Mooi bruin cafe wat aan alle verwachtingen voldoet.. kom hier beslist weer terug.

Erg gezellig leek het, zoals vanouds. Alleen heel jammer dat er vervolgens wat oude garde binnen zit die het ontzettend nodig vindt om een stevig aantal vrouwonvriendelijke opmerkingen te maken als je vriendin naar toilet gaat...en personeel dat dat niet corrigeert maar blijkbaar heel normaal vindt.

A great cafe cum bar near the main square of Texel. The owners are very humble and nice.

De slock is altijd ontzettend gezellig. Het personeel super vriendelijk en meer bieren dan je kan kiezen!

Fast schon ein "must do/ must have". Egal ob Shopping-Tour oder Stadtbummel. Das "schnelle" Pils gehört einfach dazu. Ein echtes niederländisches "Bruin-Cafe". Gemütlich und original ohne Ende. Beide Daumen hoch.

Fantastische kroeg met fantastische eigenaar. Een aantal weken geleden al in mijn eentje deze kroeg ontdekt in Den Burg, afgelopen weekend met 27 collega's wederom bezocht 2 avonden achter elkaar. Sfeervol, gezellig, lekkere biertjes, heel goed personeel en leuk publiek. Wat wil een mens nog meer?
